Making My Life Work for Me – Week 4

“There is no end to education. It is not that you read a book, pass an examination, and finish with education. The whole of life, from the moment you are born to the moment you die, is a process of learning.”~ Jiddu Krishnamurti

“Learn to get in touch with the silence within yourself, and know that everything in life has purpose. There are no mistakes, no coincidences, all events are blessings given to us to learn from.”
~ Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

Welcome to Week 4 of our six week Making My Life Work for Me Program. (If you’re just joining us now, pop back and read the very first post so that you can gather the materials we’ll be using today and catch up with our prior activities.)

Our focus this week is on knowledge – and the acts of learning, sharing and valuing our own knowledge and skills.

Life is a learning journey, and we come here to teach as much as we come here to gain knowledge.  One of the ways to make our life work better for us is to identify areas where we’d like to learn more, and to acknowledge the things we already know and can do with a level of mastery.  I’m not just talking school learning – one of my best friends, a woman with very little formal education, has just begun teaching sewing lessons, and it has turned into a thriving business for her.

Instructions:

We follow the same format each week.  Read through this entire post before you get started. You can do the activities all on one day, or spread them put over the week – whatever works best for you.

Meditation:

We’re going to start with a meditation to help you connect into and draw more love into your life.  Hold your crystal and drape your scarf or shawl around your shoulders.  Set aside ten minutes for this. When you’re ready click the link below and simply follow the sound of my voice:

Nicole Cody’s Guided Meditation for connecting to our own Wisdom and Path

Visualisation:

Do this straight after your meditation, when you are ready and open for receiving! Close your eyes and use your imagination. See yourself the way you want yourself to be in the world.  Feel yourself using your talents and gifts in ways that give you joy and meaning. See yourself in the flow of abundance that is ours as we step into a life that works for us.  Really put some energy into this.  You can repeat this step again this week (even daily) if it feels right.  Thoughts are things, and this is how you manifest in the Universe!

Using Your Journal:

Go back to the front of your journal and read your Pledge out loud.

You’ve committed to making a better life for yourself.  A better life means valuing your time and your skills, investing in yourself, and setting clear boundaries.  Be open to knowledge in all its forms as you work with your journal this week.

Feel free to use your paints, coloured pens, glitter and stickers to make your journal visually attractive. Be mindful of words and what they mean to you this week.  Look for words that make you feel clear, focused and powerful.,

Card of the Week:

2013-03-24 16.30.18Let’s start our week by selecting some reflective spiritual Guidance.  Take your deck of positive cards, or your rune bag.  Close you eyes and offer up a prayer for the Highest Good, and then quiet your mind.

Randomly select a card/rune, trusting that it will have a message to guide you this week.  Write down the name of the card/rune and the message.  Feel free to add any additional thoughts or insights you might have.

This week’s card, chosen by me, bears an important message. We often think of boundaries as limitations, but boundaries can have many positive advantages in our lives, if we use them to protect what is precious to us.

2013-04-14 17.06.53

2013-04-14 17.07.14

Take some time to reflect on the boundaries in your life.  Do you expect respect, or do you let people take advantage of you? Do you make room for your own interests and dreams, or does everyone else come first?

Week 4 Journal Activity:

On a new page write a stream of consciousness around the question What knowledge and skills can I share with the world?  Think outside the square.  What are you good at?  What do you enjoy doing? Where have you developed skill and expertise? What do you enjoy doing, or teaching others? Draw pictures or mind map if you feel like it. Think right back to when you were young, and then follow the path of your life to the present, and beyond that into the future.

And this week’s creative activity is:

Collage – The Essence of ME and All that I’m Becoming  Today’s collage will help you to understand what your soul loves to do and share, and the learning paths you might follow into the future, to further enrich your life.

Take your pile of old magazines and place them in front of you.  Holding your crystal close your eyes and say out loud “Universe, I am open to all Guidance and my own Higher Wisdom to help me understand my own wisdom and my future possibilities.”  Take a moment and sit in that energy, really feeling yourself connecting into and opening to all that your soul knows now and desires still to learn.

Then when you’re ready, open your eyes and start flicking through the magazines.  If any pictures or words appeal to you, cut or rip them out and place them beside you. When you have enough images cut them up neatly, and then spend some time arranging them on a page or double page of your journal. Let the images and words inspire and inform you. If your journal isn’t big enough, feel free to use a sheet of cardboard. Glue your images to the page and leave it open to dry.

What did you notice as themes from this exercise? What new possibilities can you see for yourself?

Gratitude:

What’s already working in your life?  List five things in your journal each day that you are grateful for in your life.

Nightly Healing :

Get into bed and spend five minutes lying quietly in meditation with your eyes closed.  Call on God, Universal Energy, your Angels, your Guides, your Ancestors, whomever you feel comfortable and safe with.  Ask for their help.  Fill your body with white light, and then draw coloured light (just allow a colour to come to you) through your crown chakra (an energy point on the top of your head) and send it anywhere in your body that needs healing.  Feel the warmth as the energy radiates through your body, uplifting and healing you.  Know that answers will come while you are sleeping.

Give thanks, send this same healing gift from you to anyone or anywhere else if it feels right, and then sleep.  Expect dreams that clarify, empower and enlighten. Wishing you a wonderful week.

Much love to you, Nicole ♥ xx

The Importance of Living from Your Heart Right Now!

“Imagine all the people living life in peace. You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one. I hope someday you’ll join us, and the world will be as one.”

~ John Lennon

Have you noticed it?  Maybe it’s you, maybe it’s the people around you, being a bit scratchy, reactive or less than loving? Don’t worry, it’s the last of 2012 going out with a bang.

2012 marked the end of an Age for mankind and our planet. 2013 is the beginning of a whole new energy.  And right now we’re feeling the last tetchy remnants of that old energy sliding away. You might even be grieving for it a little right now. Even when it’s right to move on, we still sometimes mourn what was, or grieve for those lost opportunities.

Sure, some of you will be already in a place of clarity. Some of you will already be in your heart. It might just be everyone else around you bringing you down.

But for some of you, well, your life might look messy.  The shit might be hitting the fan. Or you might be questioning things that a week ago looked solid and good.

It’s okay. It will pass, and when it does you’ll move into a much better space of clarity and flow.

But don’t feel powerless right now. You can help. How? Live from your heart, even as you speak your truth. Make a conscious effort to come from a place of kindness, wisdom and grace. Be the calming balm that soothes the itch, and the still waters that quench the raging fire. That’s what it is to be a Lightworker. You bring light and love to dark places.

Thank you for all you are doing in the world.  Thank you for living from your heart.  If that’s all you ever contribute to the world, be assured, that is more than enough.

Welcoming 2013

“I have always been delighted at the prospect of a new day, a fresh try, one more start, with perhaps a bit of magic waiting somewhere behind the morning. ”

~ J. B. Priestley

I know the calendar says that we’re already into February, but from an energetic point of view today, 2nd February, is really the very first day of 2013. (Read more about the energy of 2013 by clicking here.)

It’s an unusually quiet morning down at my farm, and the air is thick with fragrant smoke from all the burning piles of green vegetation knocked down during last week’s storms.  It smells a little like a giant incense stick burning, so I consider 2013 well smudged into being.

This 7 minute meditation will help you to step into the vibration of this new year.  It was recorded at my farm at dawn this morning, so you’ll also hear the cacophony of frogs, birds, cows, baby magpies and hungy owl chicks. They’re adding their special energies to this meditation too.  To listen, all you need to do is click on the link below:

A Guided Meditation for the end of 2012

setting-sun

“Every ending is a new beginning.” ~ Proverb

2012 has been such a big year, as we all knew it would be.  So today I’ve recorded a simple guided meditation for you, to help you release the closing energies of this year, ready to welcome the positive shift that is heralded by 2013.

All you need to do is sit comfortably, close your eyes, and listen to my voice guiding you through the process.  You’ll find it easy, even if you’ve never really meditated before.  The most important thing is to relax, and be easy in your body, and have an intention of being open in heart and mind.

The following meditation takes approximately fifteen minutes, although you may stay in that space longer, if you wish. Just click on the link below.

Healing and Grounding Tibetan Singing Bowl Meditation

Weeds and flowering herbs and vegetables from my messy summer garden.

Weeds and flowering herbs and vegetables from my messy summer garden.

I learn more about God
From weeds than from roses;
Resilience springing
Through the smallest chink of hope
In the absolute of concrete….
~ Phillip Pulfrey, “Weeds,” Perspectives

Morning at our little farm – the birds are singing, the sun is shining and the day is fresh and new. I’ve already been for a short walk and picked some flowering weeds and vegetables gone to seed from my garden. They are as pretty to me as any cultivated flower – there’s beauty everywhere once you start to look.

Today I’ve recorded you a simple meditation using my Tibetan Singing Bowl. (Forgive the slight croakiness in my voice ♥)  The purpose of this meditation is to use sound to clear, ground and heal, and then to expand and connect you – very useful energies at this time of year. You’ll need to set aside about ten minutes.  To listen, just click on the link below.

Tibetan Singing Bowl – Healing Meditation

2012-01-01 00.00.28

“Do you know that our soul is composed of harmony.”
~ Leonardo da Vinci, Notebooks (1451-1519)

I meditate twice daily. And as a constant meditator I have come to use many different forms of this practice, so that I can choose a method best suited to my mood, energy and purpose each time.

One of my favoured methods employs my Tibetan Singing Bowl. Mine’s a humble bowl – not much to look at – in fact it’s quite dinged up, worn and cracked. I’ve been using it for almost twenty years. Over time the sound that emanates from it has become rich and full.

Today I’ve recorded a simple healing meditation for you. It’s a very simple procedure. All you need to do is get comfortable, somewhere you won’t be disturbed for about ten minutes.  Then focus on the sound of the bowl. Draw the sound into your body and see where it goes.  Be mindful of how the sound feels for you.  Let your awareness open to the messages and healing that the sound of the bowl will bring.

The tones of the bowl help to shift blockages and lower energies from your body and auric field. It’s a little like being in a sound shower, where the vibration cleanses you all over, and through and through.

To listen, just click the play button below:

You can use this meditation whenever you want to bring healing and clearing to your body, mind and emotions. You’ll find that your experiences will change each time you use this meditation. And all you ever have to do is just get quiet and follow the sound…

Much love to you, Nicole ♥ xx

Choosing Crystals to Attract Love ♥ Part 1

“We accept the love we think we deserve.”
~ Stephen Chbosky

So it seems that many of you like crystals, and the idea of working with crystals. And many of you have been asking me lately about love – how to love yourselves more, how to love others more, and how to attract love into your lives.

Crystals and love?  Seems like a perfect match to me!

In today’s post I’ll look at how to use crystals to increase self-love.  Self love is the foundation for any good relationship, and without it our relationship choices will not serve us well.

Tomorrow I’ll look at how to use crystals to help open you to better love relationships.

Good Crystals for Promoting Self Love

All you really need to do is choose a stone, and then wear or hold it, or keep it close by. An overview of that process can be found in the links below:

Choosing A Crystal

Cleansing and Connecting with Crystals

Here are some of my favourite crystals for self love.

Rose Quartz – An all rounder.  Great for self love, compassion, nurturing and gentle kindness.  Restores those depleted from over-giving. A very nourishing stone, strongly connected to the Angelic Realms.

Danburite – Heals the Inner Child within, promotes self esteem, and positive self talk. Helps you to value yourself.

Mangano Calcite – A stone with strong mothering energy, helps us to feel safe, loved and protected.  Useful in times of stress or trauma. Heals broken hearts and helps us feel worthy of love.

Watermelon Tourmaline – A delicious stone for getting you out of your head and back into your heart.  Promotes joyful self-acceptance, and a sense of playfulness. Removes guilt and inner conflict caused by critical self-thinking.

Citrine – A powerful stone for reclaiming your sense of self.  Helps you to value your own opinions and ideas, strengthens self esteem and identity. Attracts abundance and abundant thinking.  Unblocks creativity.  Promotes flow on all levels.

Green Aventurine – Such a terrific stone for joyful self-acceptance, inner strength, finding and investing in your own positive qualities, self-belief and self-esteem. Dissolves deep pain; especially emotional pain, self doubt or self-hatred.

Once you have chosen your stone, and cleansed and connected with it, you may also want to imbue it with a small program.  A program is just a simple thought or idea that you place into the crystal with your intent.  Crystals are a little like radio towers, transmitting their own special energetic qualities, as well as any other encoded energetic intentions.

If you’d like to program your crystal, have it with you, and then  follow the instructions in my simple 5-minute guided meditation:

Nicole Cody’s Guided Meditation for Programming Crystals – Self Love

May you know love in your heart today.  Bless ♥ xx

Day 20 – Gratitude Challenge

Image from wordartz.com

“The air is full of ideas. They are knocking you in the head all the time. You only have to know what you want, then forget it, and go about your business. Suddenly, the idea will come through. It was there all the time.” ~ Henry Ford

Look around you right now.  No matter WHERE you are, you can let your eyes fall on practically anything man-made and say “That was a good idea”, “That was a brilliant idea”, “What a fantastic idea that was”. I tried this yesterday morning as we were driving to a coffee shop.  Car? Amazing idea! Structural Steel? Check! Traffic light? That’s cool.  Espresso machine? Genius… So many things to be thankful for in my everyday life. There are an incredible number of wonderful ideas that add value to our world, and which we take for granted on any given day. What’s even more heartwarming and gratitude-inducing is that the air is literally loaded with ideas, all waiting to find homes in the hearts and minds of those who will nurture them into reality. Gives you plenty to think about as you count your blessings!

Counting Our Blessings and Using our Gratitude Rock If you need a detailed reminder of our daily process, you can review it here in Day 1 of the Gratitude Challenge.

  1. List five Blessings in your journal, explaining why you are grateful for each one.
  2. Count your Blessings off on your fingers, summoning positive emotion and saying Thank You from your heart for each one.
  3. Write the following on a piece of paper and place it under your Gratitude Rock. I am open to wonderful new ideas. I am ready for the idea that changes my life. Thank you!
  4. Tonight before you go to sleep, hold your Gratitude Rock and affirm I am richly Blessed. I have an Abundance of Good in my life. Visualise one thing you have been grateful for today. Swell that positive energy up in your heart like a beautiful golden light, and give a heart-felt Thank You, Thank You, Thank You to the Universe, then imagine a tiny shower of golden light travelling from your heart into your Gratitude Rock.
  5. Still holding your Gratitude Rock, bless your fellow travellers on this Gratitude Journey by sending them golden light, and saying Thank you.  I Bless You.  I intend for you Love, Miracles and Abundance. Know that as you are saying this for them, they are also saying this for you. Feel that connection and gratitude and know that there is real love and support for you here. Place your rock back beside your bed, and go to sleep, cocooned in this good energy.

If all you do each day is these first five steps, know that is enough. Are you ready for today’s additional gratitude challenge?  Read on!

The Awesomeness of Ideas

The more that we fill ourselves up with gratitude, and the more we open ourselves to receive, the more we begin to crave giving. Sharing ideas with the world is one way that we can do this.

Take a moment, look around, and give thanks for all of the people who acted on their ideas and created things that changed our world.

I believe that ideas can turn our lives around. Today I’ve recorded a very short guided meditation to help you come into alignment with some good ideas of your own.  You just need to set aside four minutes to follow along with me, and then click on the link below:

Today I’m wishing for you a magnetic attraction to ideas that will change your life in positive and uplifting ways.  Bless ♥ xx

Day 16 – Gratitude Challenge

Image from googleimages.com

“Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.”

~ Melody Beattie

Take a moment and close your eyes.  Can you hear your heart beating?  Can you feel the blood pumping around your body, racing oxygen and nutrients to your cells? Can you feel the muscles holding your spine, neck and head in position, are you aware of your hair and fingernails growing, can you notice the millions of commands that are given each minute from that command centre that is your brain?

Your body is like a miniature Universe, with wonders far beyond your comprehension. But don’t feel disconnected from that Universe that is your body.  You have more power over it than you know.

Image from ergoorgo.com

Imagine sucking a lemon.  Go on! See yourself select a fresh lemon from a basket.  As you hold it in your hand you feel the waxy clean skin. As you cut into the fruit the fresh lemony smell fills the room.  Now in your imagination bite down on a tart quarter of the bright fruit. Imagine the astringent lemon juice flood over your tongue – sour and strong. Feel how your lips pucker, and the saliva streams into your mouth. Your eyes might even water a little.

I’ll bet as you read that your mouth actually started to water, and that you may have even swallowed or winced a little at the expectation of sourness.

You have influenced your body with your mind alone. That’s how powerful you are! Think of the implications of the thoughts you have every day and how they must consciously or unconsciously affect your body. We are never without power in our own healing journey…

One of the most healing and healthy thoughts you can gift your body is gratitude.

Counting Our Blessings and Using our Gratitude Rock

If you need a detailed reminder of our daily process, you can review it here in Day 1 of the Gratitude Challenge.

  1. List five Blessings in your journal, explaining why you are grateful for each one.
  2. Count your Blessings off on your fingers, summoning positive emotion and saying Thank You from your heart for each one.
  3. Think of an area where you would like to improve your health and wellbeing.  Take  a piece of paper and write Thank you for the Gift of  _____________  in my life.  Imagine that you already have this gift of health.  Really feel that positive energy in your heart.  Now place your healing request under your Gratitude Rock.
  5. Feel that connection and gratitude and know that there is real love and support for you here. Place your rock back beside your bed, and go to sleep, cocooned in this good energy.

If all you do today is these five steps, know that is enough.

For those of you who’d like an additional challenge, here it is!

Flood Your Body with Light

Today I’ve created a short guided meditation for you, to facilitate your own body’s natural healing process.  All you have to do is listen.  Allow about ten minutes for you to get settled, to listen to the meditation, and then to rest in that gentle healing energy a while afterwards.

Nicole Cody’s Guided Meditation for Healing with Light

Know that the capacity to heal is within you.  Find ways to be grateful for your body today, and grateful for the knowledge that you DO have power in your own healing journey.  Bless ♥ xx

Day 10 – Gratitude Challenge

Piglet and Pooh. Image from scottdodge.blogspot.com

“Piglet noticed that even though he had a Very Small Heart, it could hold a rather large amount of Gratitude.”
~ A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh

Our future is not fixed.  It is mutable and constantly changing in response to our thoughts, actions and beliefs.

When we believe that our Universe is abundant, and that it is a kind, safe and helpful place – indeed, that the Universe can be utterly delightful – then we start attracting more and more of that kind of positive energy into our lives.

From that place of Abundant Thinking and Gratitude we start to find ourselves expanding. We begin to feel more uplifted, more upbeat.  We gain confidence.

We begin to believe in possibilities. We begin to allow the Grace of the Universe to touch our lives. We get ourselves out of resistance and back into flow.

And from that place of flow, our lives change forever.

But how do we get to that place? Abundant thinking is created by counting our blessings.

Count Our Blessings and Use our Gratitude Rock

If you need a detailed reminder of the process, you can review it here in Day 1 of the Gratitude Challenge.

  1. List five Blessings in your journal, explaining why you are grateful for each one.
  2. Count your Blessings off on your fingers, summoning positive emotion and saying Thank You from your heart for each one.
  3. Take yesterday’s picture or name from underneath your Gratitude Rock. Hold it in your hands and say Thank You for all the help you have given me. I trust that the Universe supports me in every way. Really feel that energy and gratitude in your own heart.
  4. Now think of something where you need help. Write your request on a piece of paper like this: Universe, I am now open to receiving help with ___________ Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. Place your request under your Gratitude Rock.

If all you do today is these six steps, know that is enough.
