Will you join my Secret Dreams Project?

“Surround yourself with people who believe in you.”  ~ Brian Koslow

A few weeks ago I first blogged about my Secret Dreams Project.  The idea for this project sprang from a life-changing experience I had as a child.

When I was young I went to a funny little arts and crafts store in a tiny country town. The woman who owned it was an artist, and she dressed like a fairy. There was a big sign in her shop saying that she was a keeper of precious secrets, and so I plucked up my courage and wrote her a heartfelt and painstaking letter about how when I grew up I wanted to be a writer and for my words to be good enough to touch people’s lives. AND SHE WROTE BACK TO ME!!! She told me she believed in me and my dream, and that she would bless my letter with fairy magic, and keep my letter safe until my dreams came true.

For an eight-year-old that was a pretty profound experience. There is something incredibly powerful about the act of someone else believing in you and your dreams, and that’s what my Secret Dreams Project is all about.

I have committed to becoming the Keeper of your Secret Dreams.  Together, you and I will hold the intention of your most precious and personal dreams becoming reality.

All I ask is that you write me a letter, outlining your secret dreams. Write it with love and hope, and as much detail as you can.  Fervently believe that your dream is possible.  Then bravely put your dreams in an envelope and send them to me at:

The Secret Dreams Project

This is a big step, putting your dreams out into the Universe.  And I take the responsibility of being the Keeper of your Dreams very seriously.  So my promise to you is that I will read your letter, offer a prayer for you to achieve your dream, and hold a vision in my mind of you achieving it. I will believe in you, and I will believe for you. I’ll hold the energetic space that allows for your dream to be possible. I’ll keep your secret dreams safe, and protect your privacy.

I will also program a small crystal with the intent that you achieve your dream.  Then I’ll place that crystal in my garden where it can beam that energy out for you 24/7 – charged up by the Earth, the Sun, the Moon and the Stars.

2012-09-01 12.43.54

Then every time you think about your precious dreams (which commits energy to them) they will become more and more real, until eventually they show up in your life!

Feel free to share the Secret Dreams Project with your friends and family.  I know how much the thought of someone believing in me and my dreams changed the trajectory of my life. So now it’s my turn to pay that kindness forward.

Life is made more richly beautiful through the realisation of our dreams. You were given yours for a reason – and you deserve to have them come true!

Much love to you, Nicole ♥ xx

Making My Life Work for Me – Week 6

“Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.” ~ Harriet Tubman

Welcome to the final week of our six week Making My Life Work for Me Program. (If you’ve only just joined us, you might like to pop back and read the very first post so you can gather the materials we’ll be using today and catch up on all our prior activities.)

Our focus this week is on putting it all together – now that we’ve been journalling and collaging and visualising, it’s time to get a plan! Change and progress come from action.

Instructions:

We have followed the same format each week.  Read through this entire post before you get started. You can do the activities all on one day, or spread them put over the week – whatever works best for you.

Meditation:

This week’s meditation exercise is a simple walking meditation.

To start hold your crystal or place it in your pocket, draping your scarf or shawl around you. Then step outside and go for a walk.  It doesn’t matter where you walk, although walks in nature are wonderful.  What is important is the sense of movement, and being able to empty your mind and simply enjoy observing your surroundings.

Remember this technique:

Breathe, and look around me. Breathe and put one foot in front of the other. Breathe and be aware of my body and my surroundings. Breathing and walking and being aware.

Set aside ten minutes for this, although you can take longer if you have the time or are enjoying yourself.

If it is not possible for you to walk, then close your eyes and take a walk in your imagination.  It will have the same effect.

AnExtrarodinaryDay.net-Birches-in-the-woods-John-Muir-quote-about-Nature

Visualisation:

Do this straight after your meditation, when you are ready and open for receiving! Close your eyes and use your imagination. See yourself the way you want yourself to be in the world.  See yourself in a space of calm, filled with certainty and enthusiasm.  See yourself as healthy.  See yourself as happy. See yourself having the life you desire, in as much detail as possible.  Really put some energy into this.  You can repeat this step again this week (even daily) if it feels right.  Thoughts are things, and this is how you manifest in the Universe!

creating myself

Using Your Journal:

Go back to the front of your journal and read your Pledge out loud one more time.

Then turn to the next blank pages, and write the following Positioning Statement, and sign it. When it’s written, repeat it out loud, with as much sincerity as you can muster. That way the Universe is put on notice of your intentions:

Dear Universe,

I am grateful for the clarity, direction and inspiration I have received so far.

I am ready to begin creating a life for myself that is satisfying and richly meaningful - a life that reflects my values, and that best uses my talents and gifts.

I am ready to embrace positive change and to accept an avalanche of good in my life.

My commitment to you is that I will create a plan, and take consistent small steps in the direction of my dreams.

I am open to Divine Inspiration, Higher Guidance, Magic and Miracles.  I am open to Breakthroughs, New Opportunities and Helpful People.

I am excited about co-creating a brighter future for myself and the ones I love.

With love and gratitude,

Get creative! Use your paints, coloured pens, glitter and stickers to make your Positioning Statement and your journal visually attractive.

Card of the Week:

2013-03-24 16.30.18Let’s start our week by selecting some reflective spiritual Guidance.  Take your deck of positive cards, or your rune bag.  Close you eyes and offer up a prayer for the Highest Good, and then quiet your mind.

Randomly select a card/rune, trusting that it will have a message to guide you this week.  Write down the name of the card/rune and the message.  Feel free to add any additional thoughts or insights you might have.

The final card I’ve chosen for us is all about the magic of thinking big – it encourages us to dream, and reminds us that there are powerful forces in the world which come together to support us as we move in the direction of our dreams.

2013-04-28 17.58.09

2013-04-28 17.58.27

This week, give yourself permission to dream of that brighter future.  Actively look for ways to bring more of the energies of positive change into your life.

Week 6 Journal Activity:

This week use your stream of consciousness around the question Where to from here? Stay open to whatever you write down, and don’t censor or judge anything as it pours out onto the page. Draw pictures or mind map if you feel like it.

And this week’s creative activity is:

Collage – The Best of Everything  This collage will help you to clarify the essence of what your heart desires.

Take your pile of old magazines and place them in front of you.  Holding your crystal close your eyes and say out loud “Universe, I am open to all Guidance and my own Higher Wisdom.  I know that I am worthy and deserving.  From this place of self love and self worth, show me what I most value and enjoy.”  Take a moment and sit in that energy, really feeling yourself connecting into and opening to all that your soul desires.

When you’re ready, open your eyes and start flicking through the magazines.  If any pictures or words appeal to you, cut or rip them out and place them beside you. When you have enough images cut them up neatly.

Place the images in your journal, laying them out so that you feel good when you look at them. Allow yourself to be excited!

If your journal isn’t big enough, feel free to use a sheet of cardboard. Glue your images to the page and leave it open to dry.

Pulling It All Together:

In the coming days and weeks, go back over your journal.  Take a highlighter, and look for all of the positive, inspiring and directional words and phrases you have included on these pages.

Look for repetitions of images, words and themes.

Look for words and images that strike a powerful emotional chord within you.

Look for the messages from your Soul to your Conscious Mind.

Write down a list of those themes and messages.

Now pick just three.

Choose one, and find a way to begin to bring that energy into your life.

When it has begun to appear, then begin on the second.  When that energy has also appeared in your life, begin on the third.

If it moves you, go back and do this process again.

Change comes from small consistent steps in the direction of our dreams. And small steps often travel us great distances…

Gratitude:

What’s already working in your life?  List five things in your journal each day that you are grateful for in your life.

Nightly Healing :

Get into bed and spend five minutes lying quietly in meditation with your eyes closed.  Call on God, Universal Energy, your Angels, your Guides, your Ancestors, whomever you feel comfortable and safe with.  Ask for their help.  Fill your body with white light, and then draw coloured light (just allow a colour to come to you) through your crown chakra (an energy point on the top of your head) and send it anywhere in your body that needs healing.  Feel the warmth as the energy radiates through your body, uplifting and healing you.  Know that answers will come while you are sleeping.

Give thanks, send this same healing gift from you to anyone or anywhere else if it feels right, and then sleep.  Expect dreams that clarify, empower and enlighten.

2013-04-12 16.46.07

Thank you so much for taking part in this project. I trust that you can find ways to keep moving yourself in the right direction, so that your life works better and feels better for you!

Much love to you, Nicole ♥ xx

The Secret Dreams Project

“Most of us are not raised to actively encounter our destiny. We may not know that we have one. As children, we are seldom told we have a place in life that is uniquely ours alone. Instead, we are encouraged to believe that our life should somehow fulfill the expectations of others, that we will (or should) find our satisfactions as they have found theirs. Rather than being taught to ask ourselves who we are, we are schooled to ask others.

We are, in effect, trained to listen to others’ versions of ourselves. We are brought up in our life as told to us by someone else!

When we survey our lives, seeking to fulfill our creativity, we often see we had a dream that went glimmering because we believed, and those around us believed, that the dream was beyond our reach. Many of us would have been, or at least might have been, done, tried something, if…
If we had known who we really were.”
― Julia Cameron

Almost all of us have a secret dream or hope inside us.  A bright shiny thing that holds the seeds of possibility of a different life for ourselves.

Perhaps we always wanted to go on safari in Africa and take photographs of the wildlife. Maybe for us it was learning to play the piano, or writing and illustrating a successful children’s book. Dreams take all shapes and sizes – they can be things we want to do or become, things we want to create, places we want to go, or even relationships we’d like to manifest for ourselves.

For most of us, the secret dream stays locked away, gathering dust.  We might take it out to look at it every now and again, so it remains a source of consolation and hope as we tell ourselves that one day we will get to it and unlock it, giving it air to breathe and room to fly. Yet as the days go by, and the dream stays locked away it can be harder and harder to find the energy to turn our dream into reality.

But there is something that breathes life into our secret dreams. When we share our dream with someone we trust – someone who will affirm that vision for us, someone who believes in us – the energy of our secret dream becomes magnified.

There is great power in committing our dream to paper.  Words give form to thoughts, and begin to shape our dreams in the world.

So today I am encouraging you to put pen to paper and write down that long-held inner dream. Write it with conviction, describe it in as much detail as you can, and know that if you have a dream, it is because achieving it is possible.

I’m asking you to be brave and commit to manifesting your dream. Send your secret dream to me in a letter. I promise I will read your letter, offer a prayer for you to achieve your dream, and hold a vision in my mind of you achieving it. I will believe in you, and I will believe for you. I’ll hold the energetic space that allows for your dream to be possible. I’ll keep your secrets safe. My beloved grandmother was a Secret Keeper, and she taught me the great power in that act of faith, trust and belief.

I’ll even go one further, and program a small crystal with the intent that you achieve your dream.  Then I’ll place that crystal in my garden where it can beam that energy out for you 24/7 – charged up by the Earth, the Sun, the Moon and the Stars.

gratitude rock

You’ve nothing to lose. And who knows what magic, synchronicity and miracles you’ll draw to you by allowing yourself the possibility of hope?

If you’d like to participate in the Secret Dreams Project please send your letter to:

“Never tell a young person that anything cannot be done. God may have been waiting centuries for someone ignorant enough of the impossible to do that very thing.” ~ G. M. Trevelyan

“Maybe we should develop a Crayola bomb as our next secret weapon.  A happiness weapon.  A beauty bomb.  And every time a crisis developed, we would launch one.  It would explode high in the air – explode softly – and send thousands, millions, of little parachutes into the air.  Floating down to earth – boxes of Crayolas.  And we wouldn’t go cheap, either – not little boxes of eight.  Boxes of sixty-four, with the sharpener built right in.  With silver and gold and copper, magenta and peach and lime, amber and umber and all the rest.  And people would smile and get a little funny look on their faces and cover the world with imagination.”  ~ Robert Fulghum

Welcome to Week 2 of our six week Making My Life Work for Me Program. (If you’re just joining us now, pop back and read the very first post so that you can gather the materials we’ll be using today.) This week our focus is on being open to new ideas, new solutions and things that have been lurking in our subconscious that we have been too stressed, tired, wired or defeated to pay any real attention to.  There’s good stuff in that head of yours.  There’s treasure for sure!

treasures

Instructions:

We will be following the same format each week.  Read through this entire post before you get started. You can do the activities all on one day, or spread them put over the week – whatever works best for you.

Meditation:

We’re going to start with a meditation. But today it’s an active meditation. Find a song or piece of music you love and queue it ready to play.  Hold your crystal and drape your scarf or shawl around your shoulders.  Start your song and then close your eyes.  Lose yourself to the music.  Let the music get right inside you. When the song finishes sit for a minute, absorbing the energy, and be open to what comes next. The music will deliver a message to you.  Be open to it, and write it down in your journal. It could be lyrics, an image, an idea.  Trust whatever comes to you. This week, in quiet moments, expand on what this message means to you, and how you can begin to incorporate this energy in your life.

Visualisation:

Do this straight after your meditation, when you are ready and open for receiving! Close your eyes and use your imagination. See yourself the way you want yourself to be in the world.  Feel the emotions that come with this, and have gratitude and expectation of drawing these things into your life.  Really put some energy into this.  You can repeat this step again this week (even daily) if it feels right.  Thoughts are things, and this is how you manifest in the Universe!

Using Your Journal:

Go back and re-read your Pledge.  Think about your commitment to making this new life for yourself: one that fits you much better, one that gives you far better satisfaction and scope for joy. Hold this energy of possibility in your heart as you work with your journal this week.

Feel free to use your paints, coloured pens, glitter and stickers to make your journal visually attractive.  Get involved in the creation process and let your Inner Child rock your world, in the very best of ways!

Card of the Week:

2013-03-24 16.30.18Let’s get the ball rolling by selecting this week’s Guidance.

The card I’ve chosen this week is well aligned with our theme.

2013-03-31 18.21.07
Trust that there is a wise and creative part of you that wants to help you redesign your life.  All the answers are within you – now we simply need to learn how to tune in and find them!

Week 2 Journal Activity:

On a clean page write a stream of consciousness around the question What can I do?  This is a big question, once you get started, so don’t limit yourself.  You may even want to come back to it over several days. Write as little or as much as you need to. Simply ask yourself the question and then answer it, letting the words pour out of you. If you feel blocked get up and go for a walk.  Play your song again, and then write! Draw pictures or mind map if you feel like it. If you cry or have some other emotional release understand that this is a good thing.

And now for some fun…

Collage – Things that inspire me.  Take your pile of old magazines and place them in front of you.  Holding your crystal close your eyes and say out loud “Universe, I am open to all Guidance and my own Higher Wisdom to show me the things inspire me, and show me beneficial direction in my life.”  Take a moment and sit in that energy, really feeling yourself connecting into and opening to that wisdom.

Then when you’re ready, open your eyes and start flicking through the magazines.  If any pictures or words appeal to you, cut or rip them out and place them beside you. When you have enough images cut them up neatly, and then spend some time arranging them on a page or double page of your journal.  If your journal isn’t big enough, feel free to use a sheet of cardboard. Glue your images to the page and leave it open to dry.  Now you have a strong visual reminder of your inspirations, how can you incorporate more of these energies in your daily life?

Were there any surprises?  Did you notice any particular themes?

Expect dreams that inspire, heal and inform. Wishing you a wonderful week.

Much love to you, Nicole ♥ xx

Welcoming 2013

“I have always been delighted at the prospect of a new day, a fresh try, one more start, with perhaps a bit of magic waiting somewhere behind the morning. ”

~ J. B. Priestley

I know the calendar says that we’re already into February, but from an energetic point of view today, 2nd February, is really the very first day of 2013. (Read more about the energy of 2013 by clicking here.)

It’s an unusually quiet morning down at my farm, and the air is thick with fragrant smoke from all the burning piles of green vegetation knocked down during last week’s storms.  It smells a little like a giant incense stick burning, so I consider 2013 well smudged into being.

Smudge Ceremony - Image from www.whisperingwoodsbrockville.com

Today is a beautiful day for some quiet reflection and journalling to set the tone for your year ahead. I’ve also prepared a short guided meditation for you to help you focus your thoughts and energies.

Guided Meditation

This 7 minute meditation will help you to step into the vibration of this new year.  It was recorded at my farm at dawn this morning, so you’ll also hear the cacophony of frogs, birds, cows, baby magpies and hungy owl chicks. They’re adding their special energies to this meditation too.  To listen, all you need to do is click on the link below:

The Power of Mentors

Image from beginnerbaby.com

“The greatest good you can do for another is not just to share your riches but to reveal to him his own.”
 – Benjamin Disraeli

We all learn by modelling ourselves on others.  As babies we mimic our parents, copying everything they do until we learn to do those things for ourselves; facial expressions, gestures, words, movements…  The fastest way to have success in anything is always to find someone who is already doing that thing, and then copy what they do, or even better – engage with them and have them show you, or help you.

A mentor is someone who has walked the path before you, learned from their mistakes and become successful in their field. What makes them valuable to you is that THEY know how to do what you want to do because they’ve done it already. I have found business mentors, writing mentors (Hi, Doctor Kim!), money mentors and organic farming mentors to name a few. Sometimes my relationship with these people has been a tangible thing, and sometimes I’ve just watched what they’ve done or read their book – and copied what they did to become successful in their field.

I also work as a spiritual mentor with people who want to develop their metaphysical and psychic abilities. That’s a road I know very well.

Image from tananne.blogspot.com

It’s never too late to change or improve ourselves.  Today we’re going to use journalling to help us identify who we want to be, and who can help us achieve those dreams. Why not make yourself a nice cup of tea, or take yourself out to a coffee shop. With a beverage at your elbow, and a notebook and pen in hand, work through the following activity. You might surprise yourself at what you discover.

Journal Exercise:

Start by writing this passage at the top of your page.

Dear Universe,

I trust that there is a Universal Wisdom which recognises my gifts and talents, that understands what outcomes and adventures are best for my Highest good, and that matches me to mentors best suited to helping me achieve my dreams.

I trust that there is someone out there who knows exactly what I need to do next.

I am ready to embrace the possibility of a better life for myself. I am ready to move from struggle into flow.  I am ready to embrace abundance, in all its forms. I want you to know that I’m ready for whatever wonderful experiences and opportunities you send my way. I am ready to embrace change, and I am ready to embrace success. Thank you for the mentors I now attract into my life.

Now think of an area in your life where you would like to have success.  Don’t judge what comes next, and don’t over-think it.  Just trust that what you write will begin to create a greater sense of personal and spiritual awareness in your life.

Create a list of people who are leaders in this field, and that you can look up to. (if you don’t know who they are, then do a little research!)

Choose one of the people on your list and spend some time writing about WHY you admire this person, and what they do or have done that you would like to have more of in your own life.  Really allow yourself to explore this in detail, making the emotions you feel as you write this strong and real.

When you have finished, write about how you want YOUR life to look as you walk this same path.  Write down the outcomes you want for yourself, and how this will positively change your future, and the world around you.

Do this over a couple of days, using different mentors from your list each day.  Trust that as you build this connection through writing, the perfect teachers, courses, resources, mentors and support will begin to show up in your life.

Mr Miyagi and the Karate Kid Image from bell-street.com

NB: If you feel that you are walking a path of spiritual awakening right now, and you’d like to explore that further, I suggest you do this exercise while holding one of the following crystals:

  • Clear Quartz – for connecting with Guides and Higher Wisdom
  • Fluorite – for understanding your creative path, and for clear guidance with writing
  • Sodalite – for answers about relationships and knowing your own truth
  • Amethyst – for connecting into your spiritual gifts
  • Rhyolite – for channelled wisdoms – showing you that inner truth you find difficult to access on your own

One more thing…

You know more than you think you do.  How can you mentor others? Where can you reach out to people to share what you know, so that others can learn from YOUR experiences and mistakes?

Learning is love – so let’s spread the love around.  Helping others achieve their dreams always moves us closer to our own. ♥

Day 23 – Gratitude Challenge

Reach for the stars – by PridesCrossing

“Reach high, for the stars lie hidden in your soul. Dream deep, for every dream precedes the goal.”                ~ Pamela Vaull Starr

Congratulations! We have just 8 magical days to go on our 30 Day Gratitude Challenge, and we’ve been cooking up a storm of positive energy, love and support for ourselves and others.  Now that we’re into the home stretch we’re going to shift our attention to the creation of a glorious future for ourselves, using the energy of gratitude and appreciation to manifest our heart’s desires.

Gratitude is a wonderful thing – when it pours out from us, it makes us magnetic to more and more good in our own lives.

There are a host of powerful emotions that go hand-in-hand with gratitude, including love, excitement, empowerment, happiness, anticipation, benevolence, joy and wonder.

All of us have had moments in our lives when everything has gone well for us; when the stars have aligned, the Gods have smiled and life has blessed us with gifts beyond our expectations. In this Blessed Space we always experience a surge of positive feel-good energy.

Here are a few of my own wonder-full moments, in no particular order:

The gorgeous Bert. One of the best unexpected presents from the Universe I’ve ever had!

There is always so much to be thankful for in this life, and the more we look, the more we find…

Counting Our Blessings and Using our Gratitude Rock

If you need a detailed reminder of our daily process, you can review it here in Day 1 of the Gratitude Challenge.

  1. List five Blessings in your journal, explaining why you are grateful for each one.
  2. Count your Blessings off on your fingers, summoning positive emotion and saying Thank You from your heart for each one.
  3. Find a picture of someone you would like help or direction from, or write their name on a piece of paper.  If you don’t have anyone specific in mind, cut a face out of a magazine, using an image that feels friendly and warm to you. Now write on that image or piece of paper Thank You, Universe, for all of the Help that I am now Attracting. People are so helpful, supportive and kind. With their assistance I am stepping closer and closer to my dreams.
  4. Tonight before you go to sleep, hold your Gratitude Rock and affirm I am richly Blessed. I have an Abundance of Good in my life. Visualise one thing you have been grateful for today. Swell that positive energy up in your heart like a beautiful golden light, and give a heart-felt Thank You, Thank You, Thank You to the Universe, then imagine a tiny shower of golden light travelling from your heart into your Gratitude Rock.
  5. Still holding your Gratitude Rock, bless your fellow travellers on this Gratitude Journey by sending them golden light, and saying Thank you.  I Bless You.  I intend for you Love, Miracles and Abundance. Know that as you are saying this for them, they are also saying this for you. Feel that connection and gratitude and know that there is real love and support for you here. Place your rock back beside your bed, and go to sleep, cocooned in this good energy.

If all you do today is these five steps, know that is enough.

But if you’re up for more of a challenge why not try this?

All Those Unexpected Wins!

Take a moment and search your memories for some of your own wonder-full experiences; the unexpected prize, the dream promotion, the day that was perfect from start to finish, birth of your child, wedding day, amazing park right out the front of the shops on Christmas Eve, free dessert at your favourite restaurant etc etc…

Image from polkadotbride.com

Think about that experience for a moment, and swell this feeling of gratitude and appreciation in your heart as you remember the event, and how special that was for you.

Now create some NEW pictures in your head.  Think about the future and see yourself winning something you’d love to win, enjoying a magical holiday, having someone help you to achieve a dream, or anything else that feels good and that puts you into an energy of positive anticipation. Allow yourself to really feel and enjoy this event as though it’s actually happening right now!

Affirm to the Universe Than You for supplying me with a path to my Dreams.  Thank you for the many Blessings that flow my way. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

Trust that with your thoughts, you are creating a positive future for yourself, manifesting helpful people and all manner of success, luck and fortune. ♥

If not you, who? If not now, when? ~ Garry Herbert

At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us. ~ Albert Schweitzer

If there was a Gold Medal for consistency and commitment, today I would give one to you!  Well done – today you will complete two entire weeks of gratitude.

Gratitude is a powerful force for good in our world. Not only is it magnetic to attracting more positive emotions, experiences, and relationships, it is also able to be flowed from us to others so that we can uplift and support loved ones or strangers. In doing so we raise the vibration of all involved.

When we are grateful for the athletic ability, health, physicality and wellbeing of those around us, we also draw those qualities towards ourselves.

It’s a perfect time for that right now, while the Olympics are being held. But at any time in our lives, we can appreciate and give thanks for those who have these qualities of grace, power, and endurance or the values of good sportsmanship, enthusiasm, commitment and courage.

Can your positive thoughts actually influence someone else’s performance? Yes, it’s possible. If they are open to allowing, or are in a vibration that is aligned with your intention, then your energy strengthens and uplifts their own.  How do we do that?  Not by wanting them to win, and not by pleading or cheering from the sidelines (or the couch in front of television!).  We do it by holding them in appreciation – by being grateful for all that they are or all that they do and feeling that swell of pure love and gratitude for them in our hearts.

But what if you are nervous for them?  What if you are anxious about their performance, or negative in some way? Don’t worry – these energies are more about YOU than about the other person.

We are only ever affected by the negativity of others when we are also in a negative space.

The best way to stay in a positive vibration?

Counting Our Blessings and Using our Gratitude Rock

If you need a detailed reminder of the process, you can review it here in Day 1 of the Gratitude Challenge.

  1. List five Blessings in your journal, explaining why you are grateful for each one.
  2. Count your Blessings off on your fingers, summoning positive emotion and saying Thank You from your heart for each one.
  3. Think of someone to whom you would like to flow health, well-being and positive physical energy.  Take a photo of them or write their name on a piece of paper.  Hold the photo or name in your hands and say I intend for you _____________ and I give thanks for the Blessing of _________ in your life.  Really feel that positive energy in your heart.  Now place the photo or name under your Gratitude Rock.  Know that as you affirm this for others, you are also allowing for similar energies to come into your own life.

Would you like to try another Gratitude Challenge?  Today’s exercise is designed to amplify health, wellbeing and positive physical energy in your life.

Gratitude for the Grace of the Physical

Today, find a way to express gratitude for the health and wellbeing of someone else.  You could do this by sitting in a park, watching a jogger go by.  You could do it by watching a dancer, or a sporting event.

You could even do it by watching children run around in the playground.

Feel how easily their body moves.  Feel the energy within them, the power and the grace.  Feel their emotions of determination or control or give-it-everything-I’ve-got.

From your heart, feel appreciation for the sheer beauty and magnificence of the human form.  And when you’re ready, say a heartfelt Thank You.  Thank You to the person who is showing you this picture of athleticism and health.  Thank you to the Universe for our physical forms.

And if you’re watching a live (or live televised) sporting event, and you want to positively influence the outcome?  Just practice that emotion of supreme gratitude.  Let yourself be blown away with appreciation for their efforts, their skill, their ability and determination.  Let the outcome of the actual event or act become unimportant, and let your feel-good attitude become everything!

Enjoy!  ♥ xx

A Magical Way to Attract More of What You Want!

Fairy Godmother by Ingvard The Terrible

Last week I shared a simple but powerful journal exercise with you, designed to help you get clarity about what you REALLY want in life. If you didn’t read it, or need to refresh your memory, here’s the link:  Getting to the Heart of things

All you needed to do was to write an answer to a simple question, and then do this again over a period of days.  That simple question was What do I want?

Today I’m going to show you how to begin attracting what you want, through another simple technique can change your whole world.

Isn’t this gorgeous! Heart Shaped Map, 1536, by Oronce – 1494-1555

This week I want you to use your answers to last week’s million dollar question, and rephrase your words so that you are affirming that you now have these things.

If you wrote five days of What do I want? you will now have five days of I now have… to write.

Affirming these things as already being a part of your life creates a magical and magnetic attraction.

Does it work?

You bet it does!

In the spirit of sharing, I’ll show you an example chosen at random from my 2008 diary.  You’ll see that it is focused on the petty day-to-day stuff of my life at that time. That’s how it should be! Back then I was very ill, bedridden most of the time, unable to travel due to poor health, and unable to even walk up stairs without getting breathless.  I had a partially finished manuscript but I really didn’t know if I would ever finish a book, or if it would be any good.  Money was tight.  I had no clothes that fit me, but luckily I was infrequently invited anywhere, so the limited wardrobe wasn’t an issue. The neighbours had a dog that was driving me mad with his incessant yapping.  It’s fair to say life was challenging, and I couldn’t see a way to change it.

What do I want?  Monday April 21 2008 Brisbane

What do I want? I want to be really fit and to be able to walk endlessly even if it is up or downhill or in difficult terrain.  I want to have a life that is full of travel and adventure.  To achieve this I need to have good health.  I want to be able to easily make good choices about what I eat, how I exercise, and what sort of lifestyle I choose.  I choose health.

What do I want? I want a life of passive income that gives me time to be a part-time writer and psychic, and a part-time adventurer of other lands and cultures and even of my lands and cultures.  I want another dog who is well behaved like his brother Charlie and who does not bark needlessly.  I want to have good friends who invite me places and I want to be able to be a good friend to them.

I want to be able to write wonderful books that mean something to people and that are well written.  Really good books, not just successful books.  I want to have a wardrobe of adventure clothes and outdoor clothes and ball-gowns and town clothes and things for every occasion.

I want to pay off my credit cards in full each month and each month be investing in houses or shares or other interests that pay dividends and create capital growth.  I want to keep giving to charity and helping others.  I want to have good posture.

Here’s what I wrote as my What I now Have…  You write this by using your initial answers and affirming, with joy and gratitude that you now have these things in your life. If you feel uncomfortable as you write any of this, pay attention to those feelings and them bless them and release them – you no longer need to be in resistance to attracting good into your life. And don’t worry about HOW you’re going to attract these. That’s the Universe’s job!

What I now have  Monday April 28, 2008, The Farm

I am so happy and grateful that I am now really fit and able to walk endlessly up or downhill or in difficult terrain.  I have a life that is full of travel and adventure.  I enjoy good health.  I easily make good choices about what I eat, how I exercise, and what sort of lifestyle I choose.  I choose health.

I have a wonderful life of passive income.  I am a part-time writer and psychic, and a part-time adventurer of other lands and cultures and even of my lands and cultures.  I have a beautiful new dog who is well behaved like his brother Charlie and is quiet and obedient.  My good friends invite me places and I am a good friend to them.

I write wonderful books that mean something to people and that are well written.  Really good books, not just successful books. I have a wardrobe of adventure clothes and outdoor clothes and ball-gowns and town clothes and things for every occasion.

I happily pay off my credit cards in full each month and each month I now invest in houses or shares or other interests that pay dividends and create capital growth.  I enjoy giving to charity and helping others.  I have excellent posture.

This was an interesting exercise for me this morning, as I almost never go back and review my old journals.  So now it’s July 9, 2012.  What has really changed for me?

Here’s the view from my hotel in Gubbio, Italy, 2010!

I have vastly improved health, and can walk miles.  I have had two overseas trips, and have two more planned and booked. I’m choosing health and have things in place that support this choice.

I have the beginnings of passive income streams, and more strands to come. I pay my credit cards off each month, and have investments. I only work part-time, at writing and at psychic work, and I have a beautiful dog Bert who is a brother to Charlie.

I have three completed manuscripts, one currently under review with a publisher after being accepted for the QWC Hachette Manuscript Development Program in 2011, and two more new manuscripts underway. My wardrobe has a range of new clothes and I plan to get some made when I am in Thailand later this year.

I had a fund-raising high tea only yesterday, and I can happily say that I have some wonderful friends, and can contribute to charities in ways that are very meaningful to me.

Did I do any of this with a conscious plan, carefully thought out and enacted?

No.

I just did this exercise.

Works pretty well, don’t you think?

Here’s a photo one of my beautiful friends took from our High Tea yesterday, where we raised money to support a young man’s education and to feed and house his family while he is at University.

Patience and Right Timing

The two most powerful warriors are patience and time.

~ Leo Nikolaevich Tolstoy

If you read yesterday’s post, you’ll know that I am a big fan of trusting in two things: Universal Wisdom and Right Timing.

You might wonder what that has to do with patience? Everything, my friends, everything!

Why? Well, when we are asking for a sign, when we’re newly on our path, when we’re in the early stages of love, a new diet, a fledgling business or a fresh story idea we are usually good with waiting, and things unfolding in a gradual or haphazard manner. We most often have a sense of support too, and that loved-up and cosy feeling of being listened to by the Universe, God, our Guides, Angels or whomever else we feel is out there for us.

But what happens when the newness wears off?

This is usually where we start to falter.

When things are new, or the search hasn’t even really begun yet, we run on excitement, hope, anticipation and adrenalin.

But when we are well into things, or what we want hasn’t shown up yet, or we’re staring up at the bigness of the project we have just undertaken, we can wonder if we are EVER going to achieve the thing we desire. We become impatient.

Doubt creeps in. Fear too. And once you’ve cracked the door open to doubt and fear, all those lousy opportunistic emotions and limiting beliefs from our past start tapping us on the shoulder: defeat, failure, not good enough, not smart enough, not pretty enough, not worthy enough, too old, too fat, too late…

All things take time.  And I have seen too many people walk away from the thing that was actually working, just because it wasn’t unfolding within the time-frame they’d set for it.

Oh, we say to ourselves.  Love is NEVER coming.

Oh, this business is NEVER going to make money.

I’ll NEVER get this book published.

Or whatever other sad story you tell yourself…

And so you stop what you’re doing.  You give up.  You go home.

But what makes you so wise that you can suddenly know the workings of the Universe?

What makes you think that you can have a plan better than Divine Timing?

It’s a bit like being three months pregnant and ready to have that baby RIGHT NOW, because the nursery is painted, the freezer is full of casseroles and you have a few weeks leave up your sleeve.  Come on, baby, you think.  I’m ready!  Let’s do it!!! Only problem is, babies take longer to make than three months.

If I have any advice for you, it’s this:

❤ Relax and enjoy the journey! When we are patient, we perfect our craft.  We grow, and learn and develop all manner of new talents and insights. We gain mastery. It’s never just about the destination – and it’s always about the becoming…

❤ Trust that Universal Wisdom has a much better plan than anything you could come up with on your own, and all you need to do is keep putting one foot in front of the other, living with an open heart and an open mind.

❤ Know that things have a wonderful way of working out with Right Timing. And that timing is usually not YOUR timing.  If it hasn’t shown up yet, if it’s taking too long, there’s a reason for that. You just can’t see that from where you’re standing, and you might be closer than you think.

You ARE supported and well-loved, and there IS a magic and a wisdom to the way things unfold for us.

Your job is to be happy, to follow your heart, to live with gratitude and compassion and to be open to opportunities and miracles. You’re not in this alone, so stop acting like it and start trusting! ❤

I’ve recorded a simple Guided Meditation to help you relax into the energy of patience and trust.  All you need to do is click on the link below, and then close your eyes and listen…

You are a well-loved child of the Universe. You are supported and connected to source energy.  All is well.
