Healing with Crystals – Day Two

Today I’m going to look at some very simple healing techniques using crystals. These can be used for yourself, loved ones, and even for your pets.  My dogs both love having any form of energy work and I have even used crystals for my cows!

Crystals for Emotional and Energetic Support:

Crystals all have their own energy fields, and their own natural healing qualities.  Each stone will also have its own unique energy or personality, just as humans do. Small stones can have big fields, so don’t underestimate those smaller stones.

One of the easiest ways to use a crystal is simply to wear it as jewellery, tuck it into your bra or pop it in your pocket.

You could also place it beside you in the workplace, on your bedside table, or under your pillow.

Some of my personal favourites that are easy to source are:

  • Carnelian – for physical energy.  Great for when you are feeling run down, exhausted, or unwell.
  • Rose Quartz – for emotional support, self love, nurture and comfort.
  • Labradorite – for soothing the mind, bringing clarity, calm and gentle wisdoms.  A highly spiritual stone that is also very grounding.
  • Amethyst – for psychic and spiritual awakening, protection, guidance and sealing your aura.
  • Hematite – for protecting you on all levels and giving you strength.  Really deflective for other people’s negativity or aggression.
  • Citrine – for joy, abundance and positive opportunity.
  • Jasper – (there are so many beautiful jaspers to choose from, but they all have similar basic qualities) for grounding, calming and healing the emotions and physical body.
  • Fluorite – for enhancing creativity and flow of ideas, and attracting new opportunities that make best use of your gifts.
  • Calcite – for hearing and working with your Guides.
  • Smoky Quartz – for protection against electromagnetic radiation, and all negative vibrations and emanations.
  • Sodalite – for speaking your truth and clear communication.
  • Aventurine – for physical healing, removal of toxins, playfulness and a sense of great joy.

What is most important when choosing a crystal to wear or keep with you is that you are attracted to it, or attracted to the idea of it. Let your intuition guide you.  Children are naturally good at this, so you might also want to ask a small person to choose a stone for you if you feel unsure.

You may also want to place them where you spend a lot of time – the picture below is of the crystal selection on the windowsill above my kitchen sink!

Placing stones on the body:

This is a lovely thing to do, and it’s easy. Here’s a few variations you can try.

  • Simply choose one or more stones, lay them on your body, or the body of a loved one or pet, and then visualise or direct energy through the stone and into the part of the body where you want to promote healing. (I have bandaged crystals to parts of me with great result!) Even just lying down with the stone placed on your body is helpful.

  • Hold a tapered crystal or a wand, offer a prayer for the Highest Good, and then direct energy from the stone into the affected area, or energy centre of the body. (This usually works better doing it for others than on yourself.)
  • Hold a crystal over your heart, and then direct energy and light THROUGH that crystal and send the combined energy of the crystal and the light anywhere in your body that needs support, or even flood your entire body with that energy.  This is great to do when you are lying in bed, just before you go to sleep. I’ve included a short guided meditation at the end of today’s post to talk you through this process.

A simple guided Crystal Healing Meditation:

NoteAs I was recording this, just on dawn this morning, a group of crows came and sat on the fence in front of me.  They all looked at me and then began adding their own special energy to this meditation, so don’t be surprised to hear their voices amidst mine.  Crow Healing is considered very powerful by Australian Aborigines and Native American Indians, and I consider it a Blessing that these crows turned up today!

All you need for this healing session is a crystal and a comfortable place to lie down.  While it can be done in a seated position, lying down will enable you to relax deeply and fully. Once you understand the basics of this technique you can guide yourself through it without the aid of the recording.

Crow Magic: Crows are the messengers of the spiritual world. When Crows make an appearance, they herald great healing and change. They work with the energies of transformation, and are considered a sign that Spirit is actively supporting your growth and the journey of spiritual awakening.

Hi! I'm Nicole Cody. I am a writer, psychic, metaphysical teacher and organic farmer. I love to read, cook, walk on the beach, dance in the rain and grow things. Sometimes, to entertain my cows, I dance in my gumboots. Gumboot dancing is very under-rated.

  2. I knew I’d love your blog. The energy is brilliant. I loved this post. I have to go back and read in detail. I LOVE crows. They are my spirit animal. I have them all over, as I live in the Pacific Northwest. I watch them daily. You write well and with clarity. I appreciate the layout that is easy on eyes and the photos. 🙂 Sam

  3. Lovely Nicole, I just did your meditation and it was very relaxing. I’m thinking this would be a great thing to have offshore with me, when I can get pretty stressed and have trouble sleeping.

    1. Thank you, that’s very considerate. I’ll certainly let you know. I’ve downloaded your file and will transfer it to my mp3 player today so it’s ready to whisk away with me! It would be nice to have on an aeroplane too, or just travelling generally.

  4. Love. Love. Love this post – and adore the meditation ♥ And look at all your beautiful crystals on your window sill. Oh my, I just have to start collecting more crystals. I’m so loving these posts.

  6. Reblogged this on Not In India 2012 and commented:
The recorded meditation included in this post is such a wonderful idea, and so beautifully done, I just had to share it. Hope you will try it out for yourself. With love light and JOY ` Jane ~ 🙂

  7. I don’t like this post. I LOVE it! .The meditation is superb. I do a white light meditation often, and use crystals often, but never thought to combine them in this way. I also use crystals with my clients, very often recommending they use them at home as well. I also teach them forms of simple meditations. This one would be perfect for them as well. I simply love the idea and will try it out very soon. I also love your voice…so soothing, so smooth, so relaxing, and of course the crows. You couldn’t have asked for better background sounds! I would like to share this with my own readers if that would be OK with you. I can just reblog, but prefer to ask permission first.
Thanks again for bringing me to your lovely world. 🙂
    with love light and JOY

  8. I have some nick-nacs and marbles that I keep on my desk at work made of obsidian, fluorite, rose quartz, etc. just to keep the office energy more balanced. And no one else needs to know how much they help me. It’s my little secret!

  9. I love crystals and I use them in my healings for people. Selenite is one of my favourites at the moment, for a good nights sleep I even pop it under my pillow….All cystals have amazing qualities to assist us on our journey to wellness. Thanks Nicole for your posts I sooo enjoy them. Blessings to All<3

  10. This reminds me of when I was a kid and used to collect rocks and crystals. I had almost forgotten about that hobby until I read your blog post. I also remember being fascinated by the different properties associated with them.

That is amazing what happened to your ankle. I sprained my ankle a few weeks ago and it still feels puffy and tight! I think I’m going to give this a try. What the heck! Can’t hurt, and just might help!

The world is too big to rule anything out!

  11. LOL! crystalweavers!! can you recommend any places to find / buy crystals?? are there gem shows etc or straight from mines? i go to “crystal earth” russell street in west end, but wondering if there are any other suggestions? meditations are great! i’ve been working a lot with crystals lately so great timing!! sx

  12. i don’t believe in these things – but i LOVE that there are people who do believe. i’m too skeptical. my own dumb fault. for example, i don’t believe in ghosts, but i seem to write mainly ghost stories. go figure.

    1. Hahaha! You seem a lot like me, actually. And I LOVE that you write about ghosts.

It was really hard for me, as someone who prided themselves on their intelligence and education, to begin to move from skeptic to believer. What did it for me with the crystals was when I badly sprained an ankle. I had been sitting on it one night, got up to answer the phone, put it on the floor all numb and twisted the hell out of it. It puffed up like a balloon and couldn’t bear my weight – incredibly painful. My sister, who is a physiotherapist, wanted to take me to hospital it was so bad, but I hate a fuss so I decided to experiment on myself. I taped a few crystals (aventurine, hematite, bloodstone, agate, carnelian) to my poor sore foot and went to bed. The next morning the pain and swelling were gone, although I had an almighty bruise. Couldn’t believe it and neither could my sister!

Since then I have seen so many unexplainable things that my fixed point on reality has certainly been shifted…

    2. unexplainable is fun. i love when it happens. like today, i’m in starbucks. i look up at the door. it opens wide, then slowly closes. nobody was near it, nobody touched it at all.
