Have you ever had a rough day? Silly question. Of course you have. Like you, I have my occasional difficult patch, that place in my life where emotionally (and sometimes phsyically) I am stretched thin. Sometimes it’s from psychic work, sometimes the dramas of life – it never really matters how I get there, once I am there the only thing to do is nurture.
But what do you do when you feel that terrible gnawing emptiness, exhaustion, or deep emotional pain? When you are so drained that you are out of ideas for how to make yourself feel better…
I recommend a walk.
On this walk I want you to do three things:
- Breathe.
- Let the rhythm of your steps begin to calm your mind, just like a moving meditation.
- Drink in colour.
How do you drink in colour? Let your eyes drift to the things around you. Your soul will guide you towards colours that are soothing, healing, restoring, harmonising. Your chakras and your aura will become more energised. The colours you bring into your awareness will bring gifts to soothe and uplift you.
You’ll arrive home feeling calmer. You’ll find that eventually, or much sooner, answers and ideas start to flow.
I took that sort of a walk this morning, and snapped some pictures so we could share this experience. If any of the images stand out for you, focus on them for a minute or two and let their energies infuse your consciousness.
Walking and drinking in colour is free. But the rewards are high. Often the best healing tools are right at our doorstep.
If any of these images bring something up for you, or generate certain emotions or thoughts, please feel free to share.
Much love to you ♥ xx
This is such a great, and easy, thing to do and you can do it anywhere, in the country, the city or in the middle of nowhere. There’s always colour of some sort, and texture. For me, green is a colour that soothes, and right now in Scotland the countryside is abundantly green. I went for a walk along a lochside yesterday and drank in the green of all the trees and plants, and distant fields and hills. It was as if I was absorbing energy from them, very revitalising!
I’m sure you were absorbing energy from them! I love distant hills and the amazing colours they turn at different times of the day. Thinking of you and sending lots of love ♥♥♥ xx
White soothes me… White Roses,Tube Roses,Chrysanthemums, Cherry Blossoms, Daffodils, and especially Queen of the Night and the Jasmine Sambac for their pure sweet fragrance…so i guess amongst the colors above – it’s Frangipani for me!
I’d add gardenias and Lilies into that mix too!
BEAUTIFUL, wonderful photos and colors!!! Thank you Nicole
🙂 You are welcome xoxo
I swear there are fairies living amongst the flowers in that last photo 🙂
Beautiful shots! Especially the pink frilly things at the end. I go for a walk with camera in hand, but sometimes I just sit!
Fabulous post, Nicole. I luv drinking in colour 🙂 Your pix are spectacularly beautiful & the last one is simply magnificent! You’re a great photographer as well. Is there no end to your talents? Blessings lovely one xx
I have only been taking pictures since I got first a Blackberry, and then an iphone. I don’t actually think of myself as a photographer, as I am actually using a phone. I just think of myself as a happy snapper. 😀
Well they look pretty awesome and I do adore the last pic with the pink flowers 🙂
Wow, just looking at these photos made me feel incredibly energised. I truly adore your blog Nicole! 🙂 ♥
Aw, thank you so much, Meg! That makes me so happy. 🙂 ♥♥♥
That Frangipani has an angel hidden behind it 🙂
Really? Yay! Thanks, Joanna ♥ Bless xx
I adore the kitten-because of it’s independence and always loving. They talk in their “talk” and I do understand them. I have two very lovable cats-life is not complete without a cat to me. I guess they represent ME. Wonderful photo’s!
This funny cat followed me, stalking along the top of about three fences. I thought she was beautiful, but she wouldn’t let me pat her, although she did stop very obligingly so I could take her photo!
Oh how that frangipani spoke to me! As did the pussy cat 🙂 I sat & drank in their energies for a while & feel so very happy for it xxx
I’m glad to have brought some happy energies into your day. ♥ Much love to you, Margaret xoxo
Wonderful advice! Now I just have to do it!
I think a healing walk to drink in colour would suit you so well! {{{HUGS}}} ♥
The roses must smell amazing. Loved all the pictures.
They smelled spicy, like cinnamon somehow, especially the mauve ones. I love old-fashioned fragrant roses. xx
You are very uplifting. I love the colors and words. Bird of paradise is one of my favs. Thanks. 🙂
Mine too – I have huge clumps of them growing at my farm, and almost always have some in the house. They last for weeks as cut flowers, and they always make me smile. Much love to you xx
I wish I’d read this sooner, because I was not having the best day. What beautiful colors and images!
Sending virtual hugs, cocoa and a foot massage to you, Dienna 🙂
I can’t top John’s beautiful words – but he has inspired me to write, “I drank the rose and it’s soothing scent, through my computer your are heaven sent. With the hairy beast, my four legged companion, I will leave the safety of my canyon, and set forth to sooth and recharge my heart, one step at a time till released from the dark.” Thanks for the post Nicole. Must go and take the faithful one for a walk. LOL! XXX
That’s great, Silvana!!! Made me smile so wide that my eyes went all squeeze-y. Much love to you xoxo
I can drink the blue sky.
I love your poetry!
Thank you cupcake ♥
The rocks, cairn, presented themselves to be carefully picked and placed in front of a background of human flesh.
John! What did you have for breakfast this morning? Maybe you owe us a poem! xoxo
A lovely reminder Nicole, thanks xxx
Love to you, lovely one xx
