“I have always been delighted at the prospect of a new day, a fresh try, one more start, with perhaps a bit of magic waiting somewhere behind the morning. ”

~ J. B. Priestley

I know the calendar says that we’re already into February, but from an energetic point of view today, 2nd February, is really the very first day of 2013. (Read more about the energy of 2013 by clicking here.)

It’s an unusually quiet morning down at my farm, and the air is thick with fragrant smoke from all the burning piles of green vegetation knocked down during last week’s storms.  It smells a little like a giant incense stick burning, so I consider 2013 well smudged into being.

Today is a beautiful day for some quiet reflection and journalling to set the tone for your year ahead. I’ve also prepared a short guided meditation for you to help you focus your thoughts and energies.

Guided Meditation

This 7 minute meditation will help you to step into the vibration of this new year.  It was recorded at my farm at dawn this morning, so you’ll also hear the cacophony of frogs, birds, cows, baby magpies and hungy owl chicks. They’re adding their special energies to this meditation too.  To listen, all you need to do is click on the link below:

Hi! I'm Nicole Cody. I am a writer, psychic, metaphysical teacher and organic farmer. I love to read, cook, walk on the beach, dance in the rain and grow things. Sometimes, to entertain my cows, I dance in my gumboots. Gumboot dancing is very under-rated.

  1. halo nicole
what would really be amazing is if you would make a ten minute recording of the bush sounds without your voice … not that i have anything against your voice … it is soothing true… but the bush sounds are meditational in their own right
    thank you nicole

  2. A-ha!
February 01 is my birthday and, to me, it always signifies the end of the Christmas / New year silly season and the start of new beginnings. It is generally the day I reflect on what I want for my year ahead.
So good timing in your suggestions 🙂

  3. It’s coming up to the Chinese New Year, which is the “real” new year for me since my holidays don’t end until the Chinese New Year’s has passed. So it makes sense to me that 2012 has been lingering in a way. How is that for a Western/Eastern mash-up 🙂

  4. That was nothing short of beautiful Nicole. Thank you also for the background noise – it made one little Australian (a long way from home) feel so very connected.

Your sentiments are so pure, in all sense of the word. What an incredible way to say “cya 2012” and “hello 2013 my hope filled friend”!

May your own health continue to improve and stabilize and that you continue to do what you are so very good and gifted at. xo

  5. So grateful to receive this today. No sleep for days and too many tears and self-doubt makes for a zombie creature like me.
Without someone like you in this world Nicole, I’d be so very lost.
    Thank you.
    x

  6. 2012 definitely left yesterday kicking and screaming. Thank you for the beautiful meditation Nicole. Blessings and health to you for 2013. Big hugs Julia
