“Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it.”
~ Helen Keller (June, 1880 – June, 1968)

I’d love to be blogging something wonderful for you, and indeed that was my intention – I’ve got so much good stuff planned – but the past few days I’ve been struggling with some severe herxing reactions from my Lyme meds.

As the antibiotics kill off the Borrelia bacteria in my body, they release potent toxins which make me feel quite dreadful. Fevers, chest pain, rashes, joint pain, muscle spasms, sleep disturbance, nausea and all those nasty bits that go with it, wonky eyes and headaches.

Sorry, that’s not very exciting reading for you, and it’s certainly not thrilling at my end. (And I still have years of this therapy to go…)  But that’s the nature of chronic illness.  You have your good days and your bad, and you have to make the best of it.  No point in complaining – you just learn to hang in there through the low times until there’s an upwards swing again.

So until I’m feeling a little brighter here’s some distraction for us.

My little farmhouse is filled with flowers, courtesy of a big bucket of dahlias from the farmers up the road.  I hope they give you some of the same happiness they’ve given me.

Flowers hold a strong positive and healing vibration which emanates out and uplifts everything around them.  Which flowers, shapes and colours do you resonate with most?

2013-03-19 11.31.34From this glorious bucket of blooms I got:

2013-03-19 14.06.57

2013-03-19 14.08.54

2013-03-19 14.08.14

2013-03-19 14.07.03

2013-03-19 14.06.50

2013-03-19 14.10.25

2013-03-19 13.30.57

And for all of you dealing with chronic illness, or with the care of those with illness and disability, I’m sending all my love to you! Know that you’re in my thoughts and prayers.

Hopefully me and my blog will soon be back to normal programming…

♥ Nicole xx

Hi! I'm Nicole Cody. I am a writer, psychic, metaphysical teacher and organic farmer. I love to read, cook, walk on the beach, dance in the rain and grow things. Sometimes, to entertain my cows, I dance in my gumboots. Gumboot dancing is very under-rated.

  1. Nicole, This comes with prayers, meditations for your healing and loads of love and rainbows for you . As my own daughter Nicole goes through her lyme disease herxing at this time, I so relate to your path. I spend much time in eleveating healing ennergies to her and will always include you as well. Lol Jocelyn xxo

  2. (((hugs))) and LOVE and prayers… you are present in my meditations, morning and night — thanks so much for the lovely flowers… your house must smell sooooooo nice 🙂

  3. Wow, those are just stunning. They’re about the prettiest flowers I ever saw. That ought to cheer anybody up, bad days or no (and believe me, I get that whole thing – I really do). They look like fireworks!

I do hope you feel better soon, though. I’m sure you will. You don’t seem to be the type to take it Lyme down.

Soldier on! You’ll beat those spirochetes! 🙂

  4. Good morning Wellness Warrior- you are such an inspiration Nicole, when i read what you are going through my heart fills with love and compassion for you. The fact that there is light at the end of the meds even if it is a year or so away is so much better than your time of not knowing- thanks for the link you shared. Sending you all my love and healing light and energy Namaste xxoo

  5. Nicole, I know it is so hard to keep going and keep positive when you feel and for such extended periods of time. Please know that every one of us who you send your love out to each day loves you back, so I’m writing to make sure that today you feel ‘what you put out comes back ten-fold’. All your love times 10 right back at you! xxx

  6. Nicole big tears when dispite you feeling so unwell you mention those others with chronic illness or caring for those wit illness or disability. How very touching, kind and noble of you. You are a very brave and noble woman\soul in my eyes and I commend you for that. and yes sending some of the green stuff and a bit of pink stuff your way and some fluffy fun stuff too…xxxx

  7. Your illness sounds dreadful I did however go to the site on it and read some stories of those suffering with the same illness and frustrations of getting diagnosed. Those who have done very well seem to put it down to finding the right doctor who knows how to treat properly. There was a common process of getting worse before it gets better but at least there is light at the end of the tunnel. You will get better hoping beautiful flowers messages of love and distant healing all help you along the way xxxx

  8. Thank you for sharing. I can only send love thoughts and big (gentle) hug. Thank for the flowers oh they are so beautiful and so is their history. Well done on the selections. Yours sore wonky eyes see their full potential. Rest, how wonderful your surrounded by so much love and beauty. Grateful Lyn xxxxxx

  9. Sending you a big yummy hug and imagining I am serving you French Earl Grey in a beautiful teacup with a side plate of pumpkin scones whilst I sit at your feet and lovingly massage them..you are so incredibly loved possum…XX

  10. I am truly sorry to hear that you are quite under the weather…you will be in my thoughts and prayers. The flowers are absolutely beautiful…and today is the first day of spring…for me a time of rebirth and renewal 🙂 ! i hope that soon your body will renew itself back to better health so that you can feel a bit better!

    1. Oh! i completely forgot that I wanted to share this with you…yesterday morning whilst shoveling slushy snow off of my very long driveway I was feeling sorry for myself. Suddenly you came into my thoughts and I said to myself “how fortunate I am to be one month shy of 48 years old and still be strong enough for this arduous task”. Somehow, Nicole, you turned my stinking thinking into something more positive 🙂 ! and the icing on the cake are these beautiful flowers along with the Buddha statue! thank you ! xx

  11. Nicole, You’re so brave! You are my inspiration. You give so much. It’s time to take care of yourself. Thank you for the lovely flower photos! But, really, sweetie, focus on your own needs. I’m thinking of you and I send my love. Be well soon! Mary xxxxoooo
