Do what you have to do

NotUsed-wantSomething

Sometimes what we need to do doesn’t feel good. Or it feels unfamiliar, all wrong, and way out of our comfort zone. It can often involve not just effort, but sacrifice.  While everyone else is taking things easy, while everyone else is having fun, you have work to be done.

To learn, to grow, to create the change, to forge our own opportunities – we’re going to have to do things differently.  You came here to make a difference.  You came here to follow the whisperings of your heart. You’re braver than you know.  And stronger.  So, my friend, today don’t just do what feels good.  Do what you have to do. Have courage.  Believe in yourself, and even if you don’t yet, do it anyway! I promise it will be worth it.

Hi! I'm Nicole Cody. I am a writer, psychic, metaphysical teacher and organic farmer. I love to read, cook, walk on the beach, dance in the rain and grow things. Sometimes, to entertain my cows, I dance in my gumboots. Gumboot dancing is very under-rated.

  1. This is exactly what I need.
I’ve been trying to decide between going to the wedding of a family member who I feel awkward around, going to a spiritual retreat where friends will be, or staying in town and participating in a one-time volunteer art project with kids that promotes recycling!!! The third option truly makes my heart sing. The people-pleasing part of me says ‘but!! but!! you can’t do that!!’ and tries to make me question it, which is confusing because the other two options do have their attractive sides. I don’t like making choices. But I have to.
And oddly enough… the option where I’m the most independent and responsible, and looking toward my goals and my career- that feels the most like what I’ve never done and truly want for myself.
    Hugs~
