A Guided Meditation for Heart Healing

“The human heart has a way of making itself large again even after it’s been broken into a million pieces.”
~ Robert James Waller, The Bridges of Madison County

No-one is immune to heartache, loneliness or troubled relationships. Human hearts were made to love, but in loving – or having no-one to love – our heart can get bent out of shape, cracked or even broken.

The Japanese have a practice called Kintsugi. They take broken pottery and mend it with amalgam infused with gold dust so that the repair work is obvious.  The restored pottery is considered to have great value because of the fact that the object has suffered damage and has then been restored so that the flaws and damage are shown rather than hidden.  It becomes a thing of beauty.

This reminded me of the human heart, and Rumi’s beautiful quote:

“The wound is the place where the Light enters you.”

Today I’ve recorded a guided meditation that focuses on heart healing. It takes sixteen minutes, but I would suggest allowing extra time at the end for you to integrate the energy of the meditation.

All you need to do is find a spot to sit or lie quietly, and then follow along to the sound of my voice.  Feel free to hold a crystal of your choice if that feels right for you.

Nicole Cody’s Guided Meditation for Heart Healing

You are beautiful, worthy and lovable just as you are.

You can heal, and you can know love. Love is your pure nature. It is what we have come from and the energy to which we will return.

Hi! I'm Nicole Cody. I am a writer, psychic, metaphysical teacher and organic farmer. I love to read, cook, walk on the beach, dance in the rain and grow things. Sometimes, to entertain my cows, I dance in my gumboots. Gumboot dancing is very under-rated.

  2. What a profound post in today’s wise words and soulful meditation. Thankyou Nicole. And I too love the Kintsugi concept, of which I had never heard. That bowl has become something more via this creative process and is a greatly enhanced piece of art. It is reassuring to have a visual of how our hearts and characters are also greatly enhanced by the Kintsugi process of life. I rejoice in my golden seams, junctions and intersections that life has sent my way.

  6. Thank you for this beautiful meditation. The images in today’s post were beautiful as always also. It amazes me that you have the time and the energy to think of others when you are unwell, which makes these meditations you give to us doubly blessed.

    xx

Nicole thank you so much for this course have not had time to read tonite or last nite…but heart healing for all us poor indigeos or whatever we are ……healers lovers friends (XXX) gobby wild ones (and I speak only of myself here) but as we say if the hat fits wear it ….so maybe what I say may resonate….God sake my poor heart and lungs and freedom and soul have been sooooo tested lately…my beautiful diva daughter has decided I am indeed less than the dust on her shoes…whilst she suffers faces exams and generally exerts the teen power of making sure she eats sporadically and knows that I know that she knows that I know….as they do, ..teenagers that is…..whilst her dad my husband stays resolutely stuck in what he calls mental affliction/illness..as he rests on the couch glued to the tv…whilst my darling son has been and is unwell (with the flaming wisdom of the ages on his side and quite the celestial entourage attending to his every need and again he knows that I know that he knows!) and my other gentle but enraged son…..and me in the middle without a psychiatric diagnosis (so far and am joking but scarily serious also)….can someone send on the parenting book please after I have read this blog ….and all of this whilst I’m having to let go of my daughter whilst grieving my own very wounded and much maligned but wonderfully gobby and spirited but terribly hurt teenager….so there it is …and that’s after a nite of burning stuff and clearing major crap outside whilst my wise but terribly unwell son assured me that I could do a whole lot better all around!…Ah well!…Nicole sending you bucket loads nay lorry loads of love as I wander around bemuddeled happy but resolutely and absolutely astray whilst hanging on in there…..xxxxx
