“And when the day arrives I’ll become the sky and I’ll become the sea and the sea will come to kiss me for I am going home. Nothing can stop me now.” ~ Trent Reznor
The ute’s all packed, it’s not quite dawn and we’re heading home to the farm.
I’m filled with a quiet thrill. It seems so long since I was there. And home is the place where I heal, where I write, where my heart is free.
The dogs, of course, knew we were going and have been sitting at the front door since 4am. Perhaps being home and having a whole farm to run around on will cure them of the need to eat computers and other assorted household items.
They are beyond excited. Well, to be more accurate, Harry is beyond excited and Bert is, well… resigned to sharing the back seat with an insane pup with no sense of personal boundaries.
Okay. We’re off. I’ll leave you with a parting thought;
Awww! Welcome home, Nicole!
And that photo of Bert and Harry is priceless. The look on Bert’s face! He looks so resigned to it all!
That picture of your two pups is hilarious. So glad you’re on your way back home. –Lucinda
Enjoy with dogs and hubby and heal .
We are off to our half built house in Wales by the sea ,after doing a ten mile walk along the estuary . So life is good ..
Hope to see some owls .
Take care Cherry xx
home is the best, cheers for insane puppies, especially the ones who grow up and get cranky at other insane puppies, forgetting just how mad they were!! enjoy! sx
I nearly spat out my eggs upon seeing that photo of poor Bertle! I’m sure he gave Harry hell with his um, wind issues 😉 xoxo
Bert is holding onto the fact he will have a chance to move freely soon enough. Hurricane Harry lives in the now (probably because the concept of any other time is well, non-existent lol).
Enjoy your reconnection with nature and nurture.
Happy home. …..xx
so happy for you! i keep thinking it is summer where you are (like it is here) but then i remember that you are in the heart of winter. i wish you lots of coziness and comfort, peace and joy! we are having the 4th of july celebration here in the states. lots of noise, fireworks, and what sound like gunshots. so to avoid some of this loud celebrating, and the heatwave we are in the midst of, my husband and i are taking a canoe trip down the river towards portland, oregon. the destination is only 45 miles away but will take us 3-4 days of canoeing. i am so happy to be getting away and having an adventure with my husband! i hope that you have the same with your husband and sweet doggies! xoxo pamela
So, cupcake lady. I’ve so enjoyed your blog. I hope that one day you’ll visit my own, but until then sending you starlight wishes of goodess and peace. Have a lovely journey. And thanks for that last parting thought.
Safe trip home
