“And forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair”
― Khalil Gibran, The Prophet
“Thousands of tired, nerve-shaken, over-civilized people are beginning to find out going to the mountains is going home; that wilderness is a necessity…”
― John Muir
There is a simple energy that is always available to us, that can recharge and nurture us, that can comfort us and bring us peace. That energy can be found by tuning into the energy of the earth.
This guided meditation is the fifth in a series of seven. Today’s meditation is aimed at helping you orient your conscious awareness to the varied and powerful energies of this planet. It will help you to find strength and balance, to renew your vitality, to ground and support you, and to help you understand your connection to all things across time and space.
You’ll need to set aside about twenty minutes for this meditation. Sit or lie somewhere quietly, using pillows or blankets if needed to make yourself comfortable. Then simply close your eyes and follow the sound of my voice. It’s fine to let yourself fall asleep during the meditation, or immediately afterwards.

Once you’re familiar with the concepts of this meditation, I encourage you to walk yourself through the meditation WITHOUT the recording, especially if you truly can find a grassy spot, a beach or a warm flat rock where you can lie and just BE for a while, connecting into the Earth and the energies around you. Of course, the power of your mind is that by closing your eyes, you can be in your bed or at work, and still transport yourself back to nature in your imagination.
I have found this meditation to be a great comfort while I have been unwell and incapacitated. I hope you enjoy it too!
