The Energies of September – 2017

“Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible.”
~ Tony Robbins

Hello, Lovelies :)

Suddenly, here we are at September. I love September. In Australia it’s the beginning of Spring, and It’s a month of possibility and expansive energy, of change and curiosity, and of starting small projects that may take a long time, but that we care about deeply.

Cards for the Month:

I’ve chosen two cards for September for you: one from the Osho Zen Tarot Deck, and one from Colette Baron-Reid’s Wisdom of the Oracle. Please note I don’t use these cards in the conventional way, but rather as a stimulus for channelled information.

Here is what I have received from each card:

Someone’s sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago.”
~  Warren Buffett
“Wherever you go becomes a part of you somehow.”
~  Anita Desai

September is the kind of month well suited to creating long-range plans, and to taking actions that might not bear fruit for many years. We come to the realisation that the journey itself holds as much or more meaning than the destination, and we begin to see how important it is to enjoy our lives and to create meaning in the simple and the everyday. We see how the journey shapes us, and that some of our finest moments have come from our toughest times.

September holds the energy of starting a hand-pieced quilt of a thousand tiny patches that will be done when it is done. It is the energy of planting small trees in our garden that will take their time becoming large ones.

September is also a fantastic month for any kind of travel, trip or adventure. These kinds of journeys bear their own fruit, often in the form of inspiration or new perspectives. This could be journeying without, or journeying within – or both! It’s a month for experiencing new horizons and new cultures. It’s a month that heralds unexpected changes and gains. We meet new friends. We do things differently to how we’ve always done them and feel comfortable in doing so. We realise it’s perfectly fine to be our ever-evolving selves.

The second card I’ve chosen is Deep Knowing. This reminds us that tuning in to our own wisdom will help us to find answers, clarity and guidance this month.

“Be not another, if you can be yourself. ” Paracelsus

In September we are able to see ourselves from many different angles. If we’ve lost ourselves, or our view has become too narrow it will be a relief to find that we are more complex and wonderful than we had remembered.

Things that were once dear to us will make their way back into our lives this month. New interests will be sparked and some will take hold in life-changing ways. We’ll come to understand ourselves better, and this knowledge will help us to make decisions and choices that are in true alignment with this richer version of ourselves.

September is truly outstanding for all forms of inner journeying and spiritual work because the strength of our connection to intuition will be heightened.

Best crystals this month?

Ocean Jasper and Rose Quartz

Ocean Jasper is a healing stone that promotes deep rest and relaxation, and that attunes us to nature and our surroundings, helping us to feel at home wherever we are.

Rose Quartz is a stone of love and nurture – the crystal world equivalent of a great big reassuring hug, a soothing cup of tea and a best friend to hold your hand through life’s challenges

Essential oils to support your journey?

Each of the following oils will work beautifully on their own for you this month, but they also make a delicious combination for diffusing. The essential oils you will find helpful in September are Frankincense, Lavender, Ylang Ylang, and Bergamot. Frankincense elevates our mood and promotes spiritual connection and intuition, Lavender keeps us in flow and relaxed, Ylang Ylang opens our hearts and is supportive when we feel anxious or overwhelmed, and Bergamot gifts us optimism and a sense of gratitude for our lives and the world around us. To diffuse add 2 or three drops of each oil to your room or personal diffuser. You can find the oils here.

By the end of this month we’ll find ourselves changed. Expanded somehow. Lighter and
more comfortable in our skins. We’ll find that we have made major changes, decisions or adjustments quite by accident, or with little effort or discomfort. It’s a month that sets us up for so much goodness to come.

Lots of love, Nicole❤ xoxo

Hi! I'm Nicole Cody. I am a writer, psychic, metaphysical teacher and organic farmer. I love to read, cook, walk on the beach, dance in the rain and grow things. Sometimes, to entertain my cows, I dance in my gumboots. Gumboot dancing is very under-rated.

  1. Hello Nicole, just found your blog when looking for a recipe to stew plums that were picked off their branches in a Dublin garden yesterday. It is Autumn here in Ireland, a very beautiful, bountiful season. Just checking do you ever visit Ireland.
Thanks for all your lovely writings and recipes. Sarah xx

    1. Sarah, welcome! I haven’t visited Ireland yet, but it’s the land of many of my Ancestors, so I’m quite keen to pop over one of these days. Autumn in Ireland sounds beautiful indeed. Nx

  2. Thank you Nicole XO Have our first holiday break in 3 years booked for 18th September. A glorious detox week of fun, reconnection and to further entice our big life plans. Not sure if you are a ‘Southpark ‘ watcher but one fav episode is The Underpants Gnomes. Poor gnomes have a great business idea but struggle to bring it to fruition. Their business plan goes….
    STEP 1. Steal underpants
    STEP 2.
    STEP 3. PROFIT!

I share their pain. We too are stuck on Step 2 to bring it together but can see the fruits our plans will bear once we can fill in the gaps. Sometimes a change scenery is what is needed if only to recharge the batteries😀 Yay for the freshness of September!

  3. I am making my first trip “across the pond” September 22! On a Sacred Sites Journey to Glastonbury, Stonehenge and more. Wonderful synchronicity. Thank you Nicole!

    1. Go to Avebury as well. It is in Wiltshire. It used to be the largest stone henge in Europe consisting of 100 stones. There were 2 smaller circles inside it. Ley lines cross the vilage. Powerful energies
