A Quiet Week of Rest For Me And Harry

“Every sickness has an alien quality, a feeling of invasion and loss of control that is evident in the language we use about it.”

Siri Hustvedt

Hey, Lovelies.

Did you notice I didn’t blog yesterday?

You know it. I know it. If I didn’t blog, there’s something seriously wrong. And if it’s a recipe blog? Things are’t great but I’m not dead.

So, two things happened. I ended up with a severe ear and respiratory infection, courtesy of a mildly unwell client with a much more robust immune system than mine. I saw her Wednesday, and sent her home within a few minutes of starting our session out of concern that she may be contagious, but by then the damage was done and I fell in a screaming heap on Saturday night.

And our beloved Harry Dog has ruptured his cruciate ligament on the weekend and now needs surgery. So we are both confined to the bedroom for complete rest.

Deep sigh.

But, hey, we’re still here, Harry and I get to hang out and have heaps of cuddles, then a little doctoring and some rest and we will both be fine.

Expect some recipes this week.
And maybe some pictures of my garden, which is now green and lush again, and a joy to behold.

Much love, Nicole xx

Hi! I'm Nicole Cody. I am a writer, psychic, metaphysical teacher and organic farmer. I love to read, cook, walk on the beach, dance in the rain and grow things. Sometimes, to entertain my cows, I dance in my gumboots. Gumboot dancing is very under-rated.

  3. No blog = things are a little rocky, recipe blog = lots of love & healing,
I have seen this pattern before ……. from clients who think that it is okay for them to share their germs with everyone(!)
    Get well soon……

  4. Yes, the signs were there..have been holding you close to my heart. Rest up in that air-con as it surely is so humid now and luxuriate and heal in all those magnificent shades of green. Here’s to Harry’s quick recovery too..XX

  5. Dearest Nicole and Harry, Rest and be well. My best friend Boo, tore his Meniscus and ripped apart his ACL, yes, surgery, so needless to say, yes we snuggled in and both got some much needed rest. Look forward to those lush, green photos of your garden! Love, Susan and Boo xo
