Stop ignoring that niggle-y thing!

“Red flags are moments of hesitation that determine our destination.”

Mandy Hale

Hi Lovelies,

this is a little reminder, because I know one of you needs to read this today.

That funny feeling you are getting (you know it’s a heart thing or a tummy pain, or a light-headedness or some other not usual thing)? Yes, you should get it checked out.

That tight feeling you get when they promise they won’t do it again, even though they keep doing it and it keeps getting worse? Yeah, you know they won’t stop doing it.

That blood in the toilet bowl. Don’t wait to see if it settles down.

The uncomfortable feeling you have about your new love interest? Trust it.

That sickening doubt feeling that your partner downplays? You know you’re right.

That weird thing that has just started happening with your dog, your child, your laptop, your car? Get it checked out.

That little itchy pimple that never heals? Please, see a doctor.

The sudden behavioural change in a loved one? You know there’s a problem. Don’t ignore it.

The thing the specialist/doctor/expert/wise friend warned you about and advised you to take action before it got worse and that you haven’t done anything about yet? Yeah, you can see where I am going with this.

We almost always know.

Our intuition tells us.

Professionals tell us.

Something inside us tells us.

We know, and we hope that by ignoring it we’ll be wrong.

My inbox is filled with stories of people who knew and left it too late, or were too busy, or ‘just forgot’ and then suddenly their life was changed, their outcome was changed, and they’d lost the moment where they could have prevented or minimised or walked away more-or-less intact.

And on the positive side?

My inbox is filled with stories of how lives changed in wonderful ways because someone took a chance or the time to make a connection.

The feeling you should just ask that person out? Do it.

That moment your friend/mother/partner pops into your head and you think ‘I should call them’? Call them.

That competition you see and you suddenly feel like you should enter it? Go on, do it!

The feeling that you should keep looking just when you’d been ready to give up? Keep going.

The feeling you should share something, add something, take initiative? Trust it.

Trust that niggle-y feeling. Do something about it. Be your own Guardian Angel, or someone else’s.

All my love, Nicole xx

Hi! I'm Nicole Cody. I am a writer, psychic, metaphysical teacher and organic farmer. I love to read, cook, walk on the beach, dance in the rain and grow things. Sometimes, to entertain my cows, I dance in my gumboots. Gumboot dancing is very under-rated.

  1. I really did need to read this. I was already thinking about this topic for a time… It feels scary. Like jumping off a cliff.
