Can You Offer A Small Act Of Kindness?

Sometimes it takes only one act of kindness and caring to change a person’s life.

Hey, Lovelies!

We’re in the middle of a difficult year, and there’s no end in sight to these strange times.

Everyone is impacted in their own way. And often, there will be no visible sign that someone is struggling, or that they feel down or overwhelmed or anxious.

But you’re empathic. You’re intuitive. When you care about someone, often you’ll just know if they’re having a hard time. Maybe you’ll be able to tell by the tone of their voice, or the look in their eyes. Maybe they’ll be absent from social media when normally they’d post or comment frequently. Or perhaps you’ll suddenly think of someone – they’ll just pop into your head for no discernible reason.

Don’t think only of immediate family and friends. What about your next-door neighbour? The barista where you get your coffee? A work colleague or an old friend from school? What about your online friends, whom you may have never met in person?

Reach out. Say hi. Send them a text or a funny meme. Call them. Drop a care parcel in the post or on their front door step. Invite them for a meal or to share a virtual meal with you via the internet. Let them know you’re there. Ask them how they are. Help them to feel connected.

The most simple acts of kindness and connection can mean an enormous amount to someone who feels alone in their struggle.

Isolation – emotional, social and physical – makes everything harder than it needs to be.

We need to look after each other. We need to be a village.

So, I’m asking you, can you spare a few minutes today and check in on someone, or brighten someone’s day?

Thank you, Nicole xx

Hi! I'm Nicole Cody. I am a writer, psychic, metaphysical teacher and organic farmer. I love to read, cook, walk on the beach, dance in the rain and grow things. Sometimes, to entertain my cows, I dance in my gumboots. Gumboot dancing is very under-rated.

  1. I received 3 ‘care packages’ at the beginning of lockdown in April. I was so touched by the kindness of 2 new friends in my new community and an old friend from my old community sending me parcels filled with LOVE. I recently sent what I call a ‘Mumma Care Package’ to a young friend who’s moved to Alice Springs. Its a heart fill for both. LOVE you Nicole…XXX
