My Message From Heaven, Via A Kind Man And A Sacred Bird!

If it’s possible to send a message from heaven, I’ll get one to you.

Lurlene McDaniel

Hey, Lovelies.
Do you believe in signs?

I certainly do, and I wanted to update you on yesterday’s post, where I called my dead friend Kate in the middle of the night, because in my exhaustion I had forgotten she was no longer with us. Instead I talked with an old man called Tom, whose mobile phone has the same number that used to be Kate’s. It was one of the best conversations of my life.

Shortly after my blog went live yesterday morning, I was tagged on Facebook in a message from my dear friend Wayne Petty.

The sacred bird of the Nile is the Ibis.

In Ancient Egypt the Ibis was associated with the God Thoth, who was responsible for overseeing the realms of magic, writing, and science, for maintaining the Universe, and judging the dead and sending them to the afterlife.

My friend Kate had a thing about Thoth, and about the Ibis. It was her favourite bird.

I saw Wayne’s post, and I had to look closely at the picture, and then I saw it.

Can you see it too?

Here. Let me make it a bit easier for you.

Can you see the Sacred Ibis behind Wayne’s front gate?

I was so moved that I couldn’t respond immediately. Because that bird was a message, just for me.

Let me explain, via my chat with Wayne:

In Australia, Ibis are often referred to as Bin Chickens, because climate change, drought and habitat loss has pushed these usually quiet wetlands birds into the cities, where they live off refuse, hence the name, Bin Chicken. They are true environmental refugees.

Our Kate was always irreverent. She adored the idea that the sacred Ibis had been reduced to a Bin Chicken in Aussie culture. She also saw them as the ultimate survivors, which is pretty much how she had lived her life too. Everyone gets down on their luck at times, or cops a bad break. Sometimes, your only choice is to make the best of what you’ve got.

As soon as I saw that picture from Wayne I knew it was a message from Kate.

Interestingly, Wayne thought of the words ‘Bin Chicken’ when he saw the Ibis. But he chose to refer to it as the sacred bird of the Nile instead. Both these names have meaning for me in my relationship with Kate.

Here’s the experience in Wayne’s own words. Excuse the double video. Wayne couldn’t sent it in one file, and I have no editing skills!

Isn’t Wayne just gorgeous! You can feel his grounded wisdom and kindness just flowing out of the screen. I am blessed to have a friend like him.

This was no coincidence.

My darling Kate was letting me know that she knew I’d tried to call her.

She sent me that message via Wayne, and via the elegant Ibis. The Bin Chicken. The bird she always swore she’d come back as!

If you ever get a message for a friend, don’t be afraid to share it. If you get a sign you’re sure is from a loved one, don’t discount it!

As a psychic I hear so many stories from people who have had messages in various forms from loved ones who have passed over. The only thing every message had in common was that the way it was delivered was deeply meaningful to the person who received it. Maybe it was the scent of a loved one’s cologne, or tobacco smoke. Maybe it was a certain image or a favourite song, a type of car, or an animal. A phrase, or a book. Something significant. Just like Wayne’s message with the ibis was significant to me.

Love lives on, and so do we. That’s one thing I am sure of.

Sending you big hugs, and thanks too, for all of the wonderful messages of love that YOU sent me. I feel much less alone. Nicole xx

Hi! I'm Nicole Cody. I am a writer, psychic, metaphysical teacher and organic farmer. I love to read, cook, walk on the beach, dance in the rain and grow things. Sometimes, to entertain my cows, I dance in my gumboots. Gumboot dancing is very under-rated.

  1. OH WOW!!! That is SO amazing!!!!!
I’m SO waiting for a message from Pat, that I feel as if my waiting is kind of making it hard for her to send anything? She has always promised me to “stay with me”. She has always said, if I go before you, I’ll be right here in your ear, just listen.

  2. wow this is an amazing story Nicole, thanks for sharing. thinking of you and sending you my love and thoughts. Losing friends and loved ones is hard xx

  3. Hi Nicole, how special it is that your friend was able to message you. I nursed my Uncle who died from Cancer. A week before he died we had a discussion about whats on the other side. He had never believed in God or the universe. I said to him ” If there is an afterlife can you give me a sign using the words, IT IS SO.” I told my husband what I had said. A couple of weeks after he died. The TV was on in the lounge room. I was walking around in the kitchen when I heard the words IT IS SO on the TV. I said to hubby did you hear that, he said yes.
