The Tree House In The Forest

Old Person: What are you going to do when you grow up?
Nicole, Aged 5: Live in a treehouse and write stories.

Nicole Cody

Hey, Lovelies!

Yesterday was a big day for us.

In the strangest and most unexpected of ways we have found ourselves affected by a series of synchronicities which has led us to the beginning of the end of one chapter in our lives and the dawning of another.

We have sold our beloved farm, to a beautiful multi-generational family, who will be wonderful custodians for the land and the animals.

We have bought a tree-house in the forest – a childhood dream of mine since I was a little girl. It’s a treehouse with plumbing, and electricity, and a deep bathtub, a dream kitchen, and exquisite privacy, six minutes from the beach.

It’s a house for writing.

A house for masterminding.

A house for breathing in the clean, sweet mountain air and that good salt tang of brine and freshness.

A house for simplicity and creativity.

Now, the crazy part happens, as we pack up a lifetime of stuff, and thin it down from two giant sheds, a farm house and a city house, to one treehouse and a small shed.

30 days. 30 days to get it all done. We’re going to be busy!

But, after months of restlessness, I finally slept well last night. This new place is already calling me, and it feels like home.

Thanks for all your well-wishes and positive energy yesterday – I absolutely know it smoothed the way for us, and helped this all come together in quite a wondrous way.

Love, hugs, and packing boxes, Nicole xx

PS – here’s the view from the new treehouse…

Hi! I'm Nicole Cody. I am a writer, psychic, metaphysical teacher and organic farmer. I love to read, cook, walk on the beach, dance in the rain and grow things. Sometimes, to entertain my cows, I dance in my gumboots. Gumboot dancing is very under-rated.

  1. WOW! What a wondrous view! Looks like the perfect place for dreaming and writing and planning and a nice cuppa. The next 30 days will be hard but you can do hard. Then you and Ben and the dogs can enjoy your dream home!

  2. Congratulations. Sounds and looks exquisite on all levels. Well worth the task of downsizing and perfecting the art of packing box construction. When it all seems too much I am sure Little Nicole will help keep the excitement driving the way forward. Hopefully there will be an abundance of serendipity sprinkled amongst the boxes and bits.

  3. So excited for you and Ben! That’s the best news. Enjoy your new chapter. It sounds perfectly lovely. Sending lots of love and joy for the move xoxoxo

  4. Nicole this sounds amazing
My heart goes out to you over the next 30 days
we downsized last year and it was an interesting venture and we also moved north of the border
So much to let go of , still doing some clearing this week
Sounds perfect and yes to being in one place xxoo

    1. Thanks, Paul. I’m not quite sure if this next bit will be fun, but the afterwards bit? Boats, beach, dogs, treehouse, forest, writing, cooking and a whole lot of magic xx

  5. Congratulations…I had a gut feeling you were selling the farm…are you staying in the area or moving north? And super exciting to move ‘everything’ into ONE…how wonderful. BIG BIG Love to you both…and the puppies…XOXO

    1. We’re moving North of the border. And yes, it will be SO GOOD to be in one place instead of stretched between two. Big love to you from all of us xx
