My Own Pfizer Post-Vax Journey – Part 1

Laughter is the only medicine without side effects.

Shannon L. Alder

Hey, Lovelies.

I promised I’d keep you posted on how I travelled after my first Pfizer vaccination. I live with chronic illness, heart problems, thyroid issues, autoimmune stuff and late-stage lyme disease. Plus a bunch of genetic things. So, I was a little concerned about this first jab, although I was ready for it.

I am one of those people with a body that seems to predispose me to the more unusual and rare side effects of medications. I often find it reassuring when other people like me share their medical experiences, so I am logging mine here. Meanwhile, a friend and her husband both had injections on the same day as me. My friend had a sore arm for a few hours and that was it. Her husband was tired and had a mild headache for two days, and that was it for him. So, everyone’s experiences are different.

Here’s what has happened for me so far.

Day 1 – Heart palpitations soon after vaccination. Later that day I experienced fever, nausea, headache, fatigue, sore arm at injection site, poor sleep. All manageable.

Day 2 – Headache which came and went, deep fatigue, vomiting (only once!), diarrhea, some chest tightness, double vision that came and went but mild, late in the day a fever and chills, poor sleep. Arm less sore. All manageable.

Day 3 – Headache which persisted, swollen lymph glands, a heavy nose bleed, deep fatigue, a few hours of double vision – mild, some chest tightness, arm less sore, low grade fever, diarrhea, a husky voice and some congestion. Better sleep. All manageable.

Day 4 – That’s today. I’ll log any other symptoms, and share those when I report back after Dose 2 of Pfizer.

I’m glad I cleared my calendar so that I could have these few days to take it easy. I’ll give myself another quiet week, to really make sure I am taking care of my heart. But overall I have coped okay, and am glad to have this first dose in my body.

Love, hugs, and that glassy-eyed look of not-quite-right yet, Nicole xx
