Back In The Saddle

“You need to be content with small steps. That’s all life is. Small steps that you take every day so when you look back down the road it all adds up and you know you covered some distance. It took me a long time to accept that, but it’s true. You need to have patience.”

– Katie Kacvinsky

Hey, Lovelies.

So, here I am. Back at work.

Kind of.

I did three small client sessions yesterday. 15 minutes. 10 minutes. 30 minutes.

I rested between each one.

When I was done, I slept for two hours.

It felt good to be working, but gee it tired me out.

Late in the day I prepared this blog post so I wouldn’t be under pressure to get out of bed early and write something if I’d had a bad night.

Meanwhile, I have to keep reminding myself that I am making progress.

I have to keep reminding myself to be kind to myself, and patient with myself. To not get frustrated, or depressed, or cranky.

I am making progress. I am healing. It’s slow, but it’s happening.

This week I’ll keep doing short stints at my desk. Followed by lots of rest.

I’m over pushing myself.

October has great energies for creating the kind of self-awareness and understanding that comes from deep reflection. It’s an energy that allows us to turn experiences into wisdom. Wisdom can transform our lives.

I’m transforming my relationship with my body, and my relationship with my work.

How about you? What wisdom can you find this month, and how might it transform your life? Let me know in the comments.

Biggest love and hugs, Nicole xx

Hi! I'm Nicole Cody. I am a writer, psychic, metaphysical teacher and organic farmer. I love to read, cook, walk on the beach, dance in the rain and grow things. Sometimes, to entertain my cows, I dance in my gumboots. Gumboot dancing is very under-rated.

  1. Dearest Nichole ,

Starting off on anything , as you said , can seem jittery especially when there is uncertainity piled up in front of you. But you move away the rubble in your mind , one stone at a time. Its just a hunch , and the good omens , that you are where you are supposed to be in this point of time. So inch your way forward , it could be a micro-inch compared to others. But who cares? You are moving and thats all that should matter.

Pretty Sure even the Enlightened Ones had their fair share of tough times across lifetimes.

    Lots of Love, Hugs, Prayers

  2. I missed you.

Maybe I can find wisdom this month concerning this next chapter of my life. Where, how and with which people I live. What my “calling” is. How I can make most of my self and the time I have.

  3. Nice to see you back and being a good self carer. All of us need to place our selves first so we can best cope with all the things we have to deal with. Gently does it in these hectic times everyone,
    Much love
    Kate

  4. I head home today so will be taking it very slowly too.
May we both listen to our bodies and not our heads.
We need rest and recuperation, not diving right in at the deep end.
Love and hugs for making it through and starting to come out the other side.

    1. So glad you are on your way home. Rest well. Know that you’re still in my daily prayers and meditations xx

  5. so nice to see you and glad to hear you are treating yourself kindly. this month, i have had a bad cold already, and have slowed down to let my body recover with rest and in it’s own time, rather than trying to hurry through it

    1. Feel better soon, Beth. Big hugs – and I’m glad to think we will both be taking things gently xx

    1. And to my bossy no-nonsense doctors, my husband, and my team….. Lots of love to you too Paul xx

  6. Exactly the message for me this morning too! Aeracura popped up via the Goddess Guidance Oracle Cards deck to speak of Blossoming: “You are just getting started, so have patience with yourself and the process, and do not give up.” I wrote in my Morning Pages: “Step by step is an approach that has held me well in this transition time so I embrace it again as a positive strategy for being patient and going with the process, not making it more difficult than it needs to be.” Thanks for your words of wisdom on this Nicole and I wish you well on putting the wisdom of these transformative insights into practice. xo
