Disturbed Sleep, Nightmares and Crazy Dreams?

The moon is queen of everything. She rules the oceans, rivers, rain.

When I am asked whose tears these are; I always blame the moon.

― Lucille Clifton

Hey, Lovelies.

Our community is one of sensitive souls, and we are often more influenced by the subtle energies of the cosmos than many of the people around us.

So, I wanted to ask if you have been experiencing sleep disturbances, nightmares and crazy dreams, or more insomnia than usual?
The energies of 2023 are about our Inner Journey, and February and March energies have strong connections to Ancestors and loved ones who have crossed over, Past Lives, and also healing the pain and trauma of our past (including those past lives). This is amplified by the current Full Moon in Virgo and a host of other astrological alignments. In short, many of you will be feeling these big undercurrents of energy, and will be noticing the effects.

So, what to do?

First off, acknowledge that you are not going crazy, although at times it might feel like it. Know that these kinds of energies can also flare things like EBV, thyroid issues, chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia.

Stay away from stimulants, crazy and demanding people (you know what I mean) sugar and mind-altering substances (but please keep taking prescribed medications), and make sure you have plenty of rest, solitude and down-time. Eat simple, nurturing grounding food – lots of vegetables, some grains and fruit if you tolerate them, a little good protein. Be well hydrated. Work with things that increase flow, like gentle walks and stretching, yoga, tai chi, qi gong, massage and acupuncture. You may also find these guidelines from my fairy friend Sokli helpful for you too.

Pull out your journal and cards. Write down and explore your feelings, and any dreams or other experiences you have had. Ask for guidance in understanding what has been going on, and use your card decks to stimulate your own flow of intuition. Ask yourself if your feelings are from this lifetime, or perhaps if they are from another time and place. Trust your gut on this – there is no guidebook for this kind of work. Expect that you may draw to you movies, books, music and other external items that will give you hints and clarity around past lives. Be open to what comes, and to what you are shown. It is normal, once you have made a past life connection, to be shown more details over time. This will allow you to heal and release any trauma, but also to gather to you any skills, knowledge or wisdom from that lifetime. It can sometimes bring karmic relationships your way too. Ask to be shown more things in your dreams, and trust that this can be a relaxing and fulfilling experience rather than a traumatic one. Ask your Higher Self and your Guides to help you access this information in ways that are supportive and healing.

Use Lavender, Frankincense, Rose or Sandalwood essential oil over your Heart Chakra, and place a little on your Third Eye, Crown Chakra and the back of your neck. This will help to open, clear and rebalance those Chakras, and usually bring quick relief.
A drop of Cedarwood essential oil rubbed into the sole of each foot will help clear and balance your foot chakras – which aids restful sleep and helps stop an overactive mind. Foot soaks with Epsom salts in warm water, and a few drops or Lavender, Geranium, Ylang-Ylang or Cedarwood (or a combination of these) will also help with relaxing and rebalancing you.

Good crystals to hold, wear, or grid your bed or room with right now include: smoky quartz, black tourmaline, carnelian, red jasper, hematite, green aventurine, bloodstone, rose quartz and amethyst.

I hope you find that helpful. Holding space for you and your dreams, much love, Nicole xx

Hi! I'm Nicole Cody. I am a writer, psychic, metaphysical teacher and organic farmer. I love to read, cook, walk on the beach, dance in the rain and grow things. Sometimes, to entertain my cows, I dance in my gumboots. Gumboot dancing is very under-rated.

  1. Thanks for this post, Nicole! My sleep has been worse than my typically interrupted sleep. I finally looked at my phone last night after having woken up a bunch of times & was shocked that it was only 1am. I may try the cedarwood on the soles of my feet.

  2. I had a very weird dream on Monday night. So weird it upset me then I thought okay what’s the message. Nothing came back at me!! 9
