Little Steps Create Big Changes – Monday Oracle 22 May 2023

You have the power to choose your new direction, and the world will open up to you when you do.

In years to come you will thank yourself for everything you do now.

So take that step. You’ve got this! See you on the other side.

Hello, Lovelies!

This Quarter I am using Angels and Ancestors Oracle Cards by Kyle Gray, with artwork by Lily Moses, for my weekly oracle readings.

Our card to guide us for the week ahead is TRAVELLER – Move In A New Direction.

2023 is a year for change, creating solid foundations, and for spiritual journeying. It’s a year for personal growth, and for clarifying who you are, what you want, and why you are here.

TRAVELLER – Move In A New Direction

May is a month for loving our wounds, healing and releasing what is broken, finding the blessings or wisdom from our wounds, and moving on. It’ a time for radical self-acceptance, forgiveness and compassion for self and others.

This week Traveller – Move In A New Direction reminds us of the power of small steps to help us move on – and to move in new directions.

Small steps, repeated often, lead to results.

This can work either way.

Bad habits, even small ones, cumulatively will take us a long way in the wrong direction.

Small efforts, repeated often, can also take us towards our goals and dreams.

Every book ever published was written paragraph by paragraph, scene by scene.

Every return to fitness started with a slow and inelegant beginning.

Every thriving garden began by tending the soil, planting the seeds, watering, weeding, showing up each day, long before there was anything to harvest.

Every language was learned word by word, phrase by phrase.

Small steps are usually not impressive. The initial results may seem negligible. But all of these small steps, when taken consistently, eventually amount to something grand.

About now the initial impetus and excitement of the New Year has well and truly worn off. Your big plans may currently seem impossible. You might be sliding back into apathy or overwhelm.

But maybe you just started in an unrealistic way. Maybe your small steps weren’t small enough. Or maybe you never even broke those bigger objectives down into tiny do-able chunks.

Today, start over.

What matters to you?

What do you want to achieve?

Commit to one thing.

Break that down into the smallest steps possible and simply begin.

Then keep going.

Day after day.

Just small steps.

A year from now you’ll be glad you did.

My Top Tip For The Week Ahead:

Make one small change this week that supports healing and better health. Maybe you need to go see the doctor or a counsellor for that thing that’s been bothering you. Maybe you can get an extra five hundred steps each day, or do ten minutes of yoga following a free online class, or stop putting sugar in your coffee, or commit to an alcohol-free week. Then let the positive benefits of this week of action roll on into next week too, and the week after that, until, suddenly, healthy choices and a lifestyle that supports wellbeing is your set point.

Stuck with creating a satisfying life for yourself or understanding your best direction forward? Maybe you need a session with me to bring some extra clarity and direction. Details here

Crystals to support you this week – Clear Quartz, Green Aventurine, Rutilated Quartz, Rose Quartz, Mangano Calcite, Carnelian or Red Agate

Ben and I returned home last night from a magical road trip. It was so good to leave the world behind for a little while, and to catch up with old friends and places we haven’t been for a very long time.

We found a few new treasures on our travels. Mine included an excellent vintage wooden rolling pin, and scrabble tiles that spell out Ben’s and my name. I have no idea what I am going to do with them yet – but it will be fun to get a bit crafty! We ate some great food, and even managed a romantic dinner date. 😊💕💗🥂

I also met up with some of my trusted long-time Australian crystal suppliers, and we filled my little car groaningly full of rocks.

We couldn’t take the ute as planned – because on Tuesday night last week a massive tree came down on our shed in the bottom of the garden, bringing two others with it and trapping our big 4×4 ute inside. It’s still trapped inside, and although the trees have now been removed (and branches and huge slabs of tree trunks are piled up all around, waiting for someone to take them away) the shed is so badly damaged that the roller door and side access door can’t be opened. An insurance assessor is coming today to work out what to do about all of that. At least we decided to still go on the trip – but using my car instead – and in the end it worked out fine. And now we have a reason to do a second road trip soon, to go back and collect all the bigger heavier rocks I had to leave behind!

As part of my commitment to the energies of this week and small steps, I am adding ten minutes of deep slow yoga stretching to my morning routine. I’d like to think that a year of daily deep stretches will make a difference to my overall mobility and flexibility. Currently, I am hopelessly bad at them – but I have to get better over time, right? How about you? What simple thing will you add into your week that can help you move closer to where you want to be?

Love, breathwork, time on the mat, and sparkly new rock friends, Nicole xx

Hi! I'm Nicole Cody. I am a writer, psychic, metaphysical teacher and organic farmer. I love to read, cook, walk on the beach, dance in the rain and grow things. Sometimes, to entertain my cows, I dance in my gumboots. Gumboot dancing is very under-rated.

  1. Little steps are good, if some of us tried to take large steps we will fail in many ways including falling flat on our face or on own bum which isn’t a good thing, just saying……………..
