A Week To Tune In – Monday Oracle 28 January 2019

“Listening is about being present, not just about being quiet.” ~ Krista Tippett

Hello, Lovelies!

January is a month for planning, and for becoming clear about what matters to you. It’s a month for prioritising, honouring your heart and putting routines and acts of self-care into place for the year ahead. Keep that in mind as we look at the gifts of inspiration which the card Listen brings us.

In today’s society there is so much pressure upon us to impress, to succeed, to be noticed and thought well of. We’re praised for pushing through, for not making waves, for not crying or falling apart. We’re led to believe that we need an Instagram-worthy life and encouraged to seek out or create those moments. We’re pushed to get a better job, a bigger house, fancier tech and more peak experiences, and to make sure we provide those for our children while protecting them from the dangers of the world. Meanwhile, anxiety, depression, social disconnection and loneliness are at an all-time high.

Which begs the question, What if most of what we have been told will make us happy is wrong?

Listen shows us that no matter how lost we may feel there is always a part of us that knows what will help us to feel better. There is always a wise part of ourselves that knows what truly matters in our life, and in the wider world.

Listen brings us life-changing wisdom this week. It encourages to tap into our feelings of vague uneasiness, insecurity, boredom, resentment, unhappiness or discontent. These are surface emotions – red flags we can follow to get to a deeper truth. All we need to do is keep asking ourselves Why do I feel this way? and then get quiet and wait for answers and insights.

Listen is about doing Soul Work – about caring enough for ourselves that we get off the mind-numbing treadmill of busy-ness and habit, and start tuning in to our Soul’s truth.

Expect to get greater clarity about your relationships, career, health and life direction as you tune in to your inner voice.

Listen is also about being present with those around us. It’s about taking the time to be in the moment with them, opening ourselves to the deeper truths in what they are trying to share with us so that we can help them to feel more understood. Which in turn helps us to understand ourselves better too. It’s a beautiful week for reconnection, for beginning a new and better dialogue, and for embarking on healing old hurts and misunderstandings with the ones you love.

Supportive crystals this week?

Green Jade works with your Heart Chakra to bring balance and integration of Body, Mind and Spirit. It is positive and nurturing, strengthening self-worth. Citrine supports your Solar Plexus Chakra and sense of identity. It is a stone of abundance, clearing blocks of low self-worth and creating flow. Turquoise (pictured) encourages empathy, compassion and the ability to slow down and stay grounded. Amethyst helps you to let go of emotional baggage and invites positive personal and spiritual transformation.

Helpful essential oils?

Basil will help with moving you to a place of emotional and spiritual renewal, and aids focus and concentration. Frankincense helps shift grief and trauma, and centers you in your intuitive wisdom.  Wild Orange uplifts mood and replaces anxiety with a grounded optimism. It’s my favourite oil to use when I am anxious or feeling flat. These oils can be diffused on their own or in combination.

I’m passionate about essential oils and their capacity to support our wellness journey and our spiritual and emotional wellbeing. If you’d like to know more or want to source the oils I recommend and trust visit this site or contact me at channelnc@gmail.com

PS: Monday’s oracle card, ‘Listen’, is from the Peace Oracle. I use any cards shown as a prompt for channelled messages and my own own intuitive wisdom, so my take is sometimes quite different to the meaning found in a book.

Trusting Your Instincts In Relationships

“As soon as you trust yourself, you will know how to live.”
~Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Faust: First Part

“We have all a better guide in ourselves, if we would attend to it, than any other person can be.”
~Jane Austen, Mansfield Park

I have some friends going through hard times in relationships just now. They are wondering how they ended up where they are – with a lover who cheats, with a husband who suddenly wants out, with a boss who keeps lying.

When I’ve talked with them they’ve been so hurt, so distressed and devastated at what has happened.

Then they’ve asked the questions.

Why did this happen?

How did this happen?

Why did I not see this coming?

And the truth is, a wise part of them did see it coming. A wise part of them already knew. So, where did it all go so wrong?

All of us have intuition, and instinct. This force within us operates with a vast amount of information – not just our conscious awareness.

When I pressed my friends, eventually all of them admitted that there had been things in their relationship, from early on, that made them uncomfortable. Or there was a point where things began to change. And that point was a long way from where they are now.

In each situation, my friends had intuitively picked up on an energy or behaviour that was out of flow, out of truth – either with the way the person was presenting themselves within the relationship, or with my friend’s values and beliefs. My friends’ intuition had red-flagged something, using those feelings of discomfort and that instinctive knowledge to bring the situation to their conscious attention.

So why didn’t they allow themselves to be guided by that intuition? Quite simply, their mind got in the way. They discounted or second-guessed or validated that discomfort away. They saw what they wanted to see, or needed to see, rather than what was. They gave second chances, chose to believe what they were told, and shoved that discomfort back down where it no longer bothered them.

Haven’t you done that before? I know I have.

But that’s okay. Intuition is not a one time thing. Our internal wisdom will connect with us over and over again. Our job is to listen, and to pay attention. To give ourselves space to think things through and to honour these feelings and ideas that arise from deep inside us.

Of course, intuition doesn’t simply show us what’s wrong. It can also show us what’s good. We have a compulsion to introduce ourselves to someone at a party. Things blossom into a beautiful relationship.

Suddenly it seems like we can’t stop thinking about a business idea, or studying again. When we are brave enough to honour that instinctive direction we find ourselves loving the changes we have made. They feel so right for us.

We come to an awareness, without evidence or proof, that maybe the aloof girl or guy in the office is just shy, and when we make an effort to get to know them we find out that we were right.

Intuition says, Hey – let’s drive down this street for no apparent reason – come on, humour me! And there you find your dream house, or the shop with the thing you want, or an old college friend walking their dog, the same friend whose address you lost years ago and who you’d had no idea how to track down.

Intuition and instinct show us where we are out of flow with the Universe, and also how to get back into flow again, with relationships and actions that support our Highest Good.

So the big question is – are you honouring your intuition? Or are you second-guessing yourself?

Maybe it’s time you started paying attention, and trusting what comes up for you.

Feeding the Heart Chakra

Energy of the Heart Chakra

The heart chakra, an energy centre located at our heart, is an open doorway, the anchor for our soul, and the seat of love. Its colour is a magnificent shade of rich emerald green.

When your heart chakra is open and balanced you will be in a space of self-love, self-nurture, generosity, kindness, humour, empathy, non-judgement, happiness, tolerance, expansion, optimism and FLOW.  You’ll see beauty everywhere!

When the chakra is unbalanced you may experience too much empathy, and hypersensitivity to the moods and emotions of others – where you will process these emotions as your own or feel responsible for them.  This is draining emotionally, physically and spiritually.

When the chakra is closed down you may experience loneliness, depression and anxiety, a sense of not belonging, shy away from intimacy and commitment, be overtly critical of self and others, be defensive and even paranoid. This lack of flow can create addiction, including workaholism, because addictions mask and numb PAIN.

In all instances, what the heart chakra needs is LOVE, and to feel good. Treat yourself and others with kindness, and spend time listening to your heart.  Your heart holds all the wisdom of your soul, it truly knows what is best for you and what direction best serves you.  All you need to do is tune in to that wisdom. That’s what we’re going to explore this week!

Activity: Feeding Your Heart Chakra:

Food contains energy, trapped sunlight, known as Bio-photonic Energy.  It also contains a myriad of chemicals, vitamins, minerals, proteins, carbohydrates, fats and all sorts of amazing properties, many of which are not yet known or understood by us. Consciously incorporate some of these heart-chakra friendly foods in your diet, and begin to FEEL the difference.

For the Heart Chakra think green!  Salads, steamed vegetables, green oils, juices and smoothies.  These foods are full of calcium, magnesium, iodine, selenium, sulphur, essential fatty acids, B group vitamins and Vitamin C – all great for heart health, cleansing of the  blood, and general circulation.

Spinach, silverbeet, artichokes, asparagus, broccolini, celery, cucumbers, green capsicums (peppers), leeks, lettuce, all edible green leaves, winter melon, bitter melon, okra, watercress, green beans, broccoli, zucchinis, snow peas, green peas, kale, rocket, chard, asian greens such as bok choi and choi sum, parsley, coriander, shallots, basil, green pesto, sage, thyme, brussel sprouts, avocado, spirulina, seaweeds, cabbage, limes, honeydew melons, kiwi fruit, green grapes, green apples, green pears,  fennel, olives, extra virgin olive oil – cold pressed, hemp oil, green tea, barley greens, pepitas, pistachio nuts, capers, rosemary, green lentils, chlorella, aloe vera, oregano, green lipped mussels, wheatgrass, all forms of sprouts.

One of my favourite recipes for a green smoothie is one cup of coconut milk (or coconut water and flesh from young coconut) and a few handfuls of young spinach leaves, a frozen banana, dash of organic vanilla and a spoonful of spirulina.

And for a beginners green juice you can’t go past apple, cucumber, zucchini (trust me – it makes it so creamy and delish!), parsley, celery and a hint of ginger.

Journalling:

One of the most powerful ways to work with the energy of the Heart Chakra is to recognise what makes you happy.  Today, write a list of things you enjoy, are grateful for, and that make you smile and feel good.

If you have time, and feel so inclined, create a collaged double-page spread in your journal of pictures, images and words that uplift you and speak to your heart. If you like, go crazy and make a full-sized dreamboard.

Simple Meditation:

Picture your heart chakra as a rose bud, tightly furled and lusciously green, and then opening into a beautiful red rose with the most gorgeous fragrance. Do this once or daily.  And use some rose scent or a fresh rose to anchor this new energy!

This short clip has an excellent visual for you:

Above all, this week, choose to feel good.  Even if that means you don’t win the argument, or get the last word in, or be ‘right’.  Let this week be about flow, and ease and listening to your HEART.

Focus on you.  Focus on happiness, and on drawing into your world more of the energies and activities that nurture you, uplift you, make you smile, make you FEEL all of that incredible love that is within you and all around you.

The happier and better you feel, the higher your vibration.  The higher your vibration, the more good you attract into your life. Trust me on this – it really works.

I’ll be meditating all week on heart healing and helping you open up to the wisdom and love within you.  Know that you are much loved ♥ Nicole xx
