The Noisy Visitors

“The ornament of a house is the friends who frequent it.”
~  Ralph Waldo Emerson

All last night we were serenaded with the thumping and screeching of possums running along our tin roof and jumping noisily into the adjoining trees here at our little farm.

Poor Bert was having conniptions!

It’s no wonder they call my neighbourhood Possum Creek…

This morning Bert and I went up to the shed to get some gardening gloves and one of the naughty midnight party boys was napping in a corner.

We took him back some apple, and asked if he wouldn’t mind keeping the noise down tonight.

I don’t mind our nocturnal visitors having fun, but I would like to get some sleep. 🙂

PS: Meanwhile more of the branch holding the big tree collapsed yesterday, sending small branches raining down on the powerline which is now bent and lowered. Let’s hope the removal crew comes today or that the tree finally unhooks itself and falls. This waiting game is all a bit frazzling…
