The Thrill of Anticipation

“The excitement of dreams coming true is beyond the description of words.”
~ Lailah Gifty Akita

I may have done something stupid last night.

I may have asked my husband Ben, just as we were going to bed, ‘Are we going for a walk on the beach in the morning?’

I may have said that right in front of Harry Dog.

Yep… Stupid.

Usually I spell it out. That kind of a provocation.

B  E  A  C  H

You know, cos dogs can understand every word but they never went to school so they can’t spell yet.

So, most of the night Harry was checking to see if we were awake yet.

This morning he cut my meditation short by licking my face furiously until I finally gave in, cuddled him and stood up.

Yes! He raced to the door. This was it! We were going!

It was, of course, still dark. I needed to blog. Not everyone else was awake yet.

Harry collapsed onto a chair in depression. He was so positive that I had said the B E A C H word.

Finally, when I opened the back door he raced outside and refused to come back in. Because this morning is a fine beach-walking morning. And we must go. After which, cafe!

It’s a dog’s life here!
