Cracking the Code

Even the invisible leave footprints.
― Wayne Gerard Trotman

Hey, Lovelies.

I woke at 3.27am with the sudden and wild notion that I had written notes about Dave (the character in this current NaNoWriMo project) and the motivations and intentions of one of the other characters he is interacting with, somewhere in a random notebook.

Do you know how many notebooks I have?

Doesn’t matter! The idea wouldn’t leave me. So I hurried downstairs to my writing room, turned on a lamp, sat cross-legged on the floor, and began to go through all of my notebooks and scraps of paper from the last year.

Oh, I found so many treasures. These are now heaped in piles upon my floor, waiting for me to do something constructive with them by allocating them to projects – current and new.

But I didn’t find what I was looking for.

Disappointed, I went back upstairs to meditate, and at the end of the meditation I received a very strong image of me typing something into my phone.

My phone!

I raced back downstairs (so many stairs for so early in the morning), grabbed my phone, and checked though the notes section (currently I have 255 that are too important to delete) and THERE IT WAS!!!!!!!
And just like that my novel has become a love story.

Oh, Dave!

I cracked your code. 😊

Am feeling very chuffed with myself right now. Stupidly happy, in fact.

The writer’s life is indeed a strange one.
Much love, pencil shavings, note-taking apps and excitement, Nicole xx
