Journal Challenge Week 6 – September 6, 2015

Welcome to Week Six of our journal challenge. Are you beginning to know yourself a little better? That’s one of the joys of journal writing. 🙂

If you missed the start you can go here to catch up on the tools you’ll need, and to find links to previous weeks.

This week, starting on September 6, is a time for sowing seeds. I’m sure that you’re familiar with the concept of reaping what you sow. When you sow kindness, love, wisdom, industrious effort, open communication and all of those other positive energies, we are told that this energy will come back to us multiplied.

Problem is, I know too many people who have sat in that helping space and the people it benefited most was others. There’s nothing wrong with that. The world can always stand more kindness, wisdom and love. But what about us? Who is going to do that for us during our lifetime? Because there comes a time when we all need support – when we all need to eat that fruit of wisdom and kindness so that we may be recharged and renewed.

This week, we are focusing on sowing those seeds for ourselves.

Weekly Structure Reminder

Each week of this nine week challenge will follow the same format:

  1. We will begin with the short guided meditation for the week, using your guidance stone. During this meditation you’ll be given a colour to work with for the week, and a word or phrase.
  2. We will choose an oracle card to give us inspiration and direction for the week ahead
  3. We will spend ten minutes (or more if desired!) to complete our weekly journal prompt.
  4. We will spend a few moments at the end of our day in gratitude.

Start Here!

1. Guided Meditation

Take your guidance stone and sit or lie quietly. Then simply follow the sound of my voice. You’ll need seven minutes.

When the meditation is complete, write down your power colour and your power word or phrase in your journal.

  • How can you use your Power Word this week? Write a few ideas, based on your word. Trust whatever comes and write it down. Don’t overthink it.
  • What does your Colour mean to you? What words or ideas does it provoke? Write them down. This week, use this colour to boost your energy. Shut your eyes for thirty seconds and breathe it into your body whenever you feel a bit flat or low. Wear it as clothing. Choose flowers in your colour. Eat food that colour. Be creative with it.

2. Oracle Card

Take your cards, offer up a small prayer that whatever you do be for your Highest Good, and then shuffle the deck. As you’re shuffling, ask the question‘What do I most need to focus on this week?’ Say it out loud or hold it as a thought in your head. Either will work.

Choose one card. How you choose is up to you. Split the deck. Fan them out. Top or bottom. Dive right in. There is no right or wrong.

Now look at your card and hold your guidance stone in your non-writing hand. Really look at the card. Don’t use the book or the ‘proper’ meaning. We are being intuitive here, people! What stands out for you in the picture? What thoughts and ideas do the images provoke? Take a minute or two and write those thoughts down. I know, you might feel like you’re just making it all up. That’s okay. Write anyway. Trust that there is a part of you that is wise and that has been waiting for this chance to speak with your conscious mind.

My colour, word and card tie in meaningfully for me this week. There is a growing sense that I need to create spaciousness in my calendar and in my life so that I can focus on my healing, and on my many projects – one by one. I had never thought of clear as a colour. But it does have an energy all its own. When I think of a clear stream of water sparkling and dancing in the sun it fills me with peace and happiness. Here’s my choices for September 6:

Plus, oh my goodness, it’s my birthday! What an amazing thing to do to start my next rotation around the sun. I deserve a good cafe breakfast with Ben and Harry dog after this is uploaded for you all.

 

3. Week Six Journal Prompt

Take a few minutes, and a couple of highlighter pens or markers. Flip through what you’ve already written in the previous weeks. Look for words or ideas that excite you or that somehow make you feel stressed or sad. If you have no real reaction to something, move on. It has no purpose for you this week. Think of the things you have highlighted as weeds or seeds.

Now ask yourself the following questions, writing responses for each in your journal:

  1. What are the weeds I need to rip out or stop feeding?
  2. What are the seeds I need to plant and nurture in my life?

And there’s one last question:

3. What fruit do I want to harvest for my future self from these seeds I shall sow and nurture in the coming weeks, months and years?

Write as little or as much as you want.

Do this once, or write a little every day. Whatever works for you. Hold your guidance stone in your non-writing hand or place it on your lap or beside you while you write.Genuinely seek to connect with what matters to you.

Here’s my beginnings. Oh, those pesky self-doubt weeds. Did you have any of those too? I’m intending to do this exercise a few more times this week and then I’ll make a solid plan. Amidst naps, of course!

Using the Gratitude Rock:

The Gratitude Rock anchors positive energy and gratitude at the end of every day.  You can carry your stone with you, or leave it beside your bed.  At night, before you go to sleep, hold your Gratitude Rock in your hand.

As you hold the stone say to yourself I am richly Blessed. I have an Abundance of Good in my life.  Then hold in your mind one or more image of a thing you have been grateful for today. Swell that positive energy up in your heart like a beautiful golden light, and give a heart-felt Thank You, Thank You, Thank You to the Universe. Visualise a tiny shower of golden light travelling from your heart into your Gratitude Rock.

Now here’s the fun bit – imagine all of the other people who are taking part in this journalling challenge with you. Once again build up a strong positive energy in your heart, and then imagine shooting a stream of golden light out into the Universe to those people.

Say Thank you.  I Bless You.  I intend for you Love, Miracles and Abundance. Know that as you are saying this for them, they are also saying this for you. Feel that connection and gratitude and know that there is real love and support for you here. Place your rock back beside your bed, and go to sleep, cocooned in this good energy.

Making My Life Work for Me – Week 6

Welcome to the final week of our six week Making My Life Work for Me Program. (If you’ve only just joined us, you might like to pop back and read the very first post so you can gather the materials we’ll be using today and catch up on all our prior activities.)

Our focus this week is on putting it all together – now that we’ve been journalling and collaging and visualising, it’s time to get a plan! Change and progress come from action.

Instructions:

We have followed the same format each week.  Read through this entire post before you get started. You can do the activities all on one day, or spread them put over the week – whatever works best for you.

Meditation:

This week’s meditation exercise is a simple walking meditation.

To start hold your crystal or place it in your pocket, draping your scarf or shawl around you. Then step outside and go for a walk.  It doesn’t matter where you walk, although walks in nature are wonderful.  What is important is the sense of movement, and being able to empty your mind and simply enjoy observing your surroundings.

Remember this technique:

Breathe, and look around me. Breathe and put one foot in front of the other. Breathe and be aware of my body and my surroundings. Breathing and walking and being aware.

Set aside ten minutes for this, although you can take longer if you have the time or are enjoying yourself.

If it is not possible for you to walk, then close your eyes and take a walk in your imagination.  It will have the same effect.

Visualisation:

Do this straight after your meditation, when you are ready and open for receiving! Close your eyes and use your imagination. See yourself the way you want yourself to be in the world.  See yourself in a space of calm, filled with certainty and enthusiasm.  See yourself as healthy.  See yourself as happy. See yourself having the life you desire, in as much detail as possible.  Really put some energy into this.  You can repeat this step again this week (even daily) if it feels right.  Thoughts are things, and this is how you manifest in the Universe!

Using Your Journal:

Go back to the front of your journal and read your Pledge out loud one more time.

Then turn to the next blank pages, and write the following Positioning Statement, and sign it. When it’s written, repeat it out loud, with as much sincerity as you can muster. That way the Universe is put on notice of your intentions:

Dear Universe,

I am grateful for the clarity, direction and inspiration I have received so far.

I am ready to begin creating a life for myself that is satisfying and richly meaningful a life that reflects my values, and that best uses my talents and gifts.

I am ready to embrace positive change and to accept an avalanche of good in my life. 

My commitment to you is that I will create a plan, and take consistent small steps in the direction of my dreams.

I am open to Divine Inspiration, Higher Guidance, Magic and Miracles.  I am open to Breakthroughs, New Opportunities and Helpful People.

I am excited about co-creating a brighter future for myself and the ones I love.

2013-03-24 16.30.18Let’s start our week by selecting some reflective spiritual Guidance.  Take your deck of positive cards, or your rune bag.  Close you eyes and offer up a prayer for the Highest Good, and then quiet your mind.

Randomly select a card/rune, trusting that it will have a message to guide you this week.  Write down the name of the card/rune and the message.  Feel free to add any additional thoughts or insights you might have.

The final card I’ve chosen for us is all about the magic of thinking big – it encourages us to dream, and reminds us that there are powerful forces in the world which come together to support us as we move in the direction of our dreams.

This week, give yourself permission to dream of that brighter future.  Actively look for ways to bring more of the energies of positive change into your life.

Week 6 Journal Activity:

This week use your stream of consciousness around the question Where to from here? Stay open to whatever you write down, and don’t censor or judge anything as it pours out onto the page. Draw pictures or mind map if you feel like it.

And this week’s creative activity is:

Collage – The Best of Everything  This collage will help you to clarify the essence of what your heart desires.

Take your pile of old magazines and place them in front of you.  Holding your crystal close your eyes and say out loud “Universe, I am open to all Guidance and my own Higher Wisdom.  I know that I am worthy and deserving.  From this place of self love and self worth, show me what I most value and enjoy.”  Take a moment and sit in that energy, really feeling yourself connecting into and opening to all that your soul desires.

When you’re ready, open your eyes and start flicking through the magazines.  If any pictures or words appeal to you, cut or rip them out and place them beside you. When you have enough images cut them up neatly.

Place the images in your journal, laying them out so that you feel good when you look at them. Allow yourself to be excited!

If your journal isn’t big enough, feel free to use a sheet of cardboard. Glue your images to the page and leave it open to dry.

Pulling It All Together:

In the coming days and weeks, go back over your journal.  Take a highlighter, and look for all of the positive, inspiring and directional words and phrases you have included on these pages.

Look for repetitions of images, words and themes.

Look for words and images that strike a powerful emotional chord within you.

Look for the messages from your Soul to your Conscious Mind.

Write down a list of those themes and messages.

Now pick just three.

Choose one, and find a way to begin to bring that energy into your life.

When it has begun to appear, then begin on the second.  When that energy has also appeared in your life, begin on the third.

If it moves you, go back and do this process again.

Change comes from small consistent steps in the direction of our dreams. And small steps often travel us great distances…

Gratitude:

What’s already working in your life?  List five things in your journal each day that you are grateful for in your life.

Nightly Healing :

Get into bed and spend five minutes lying quietly in meditation with your eyes closed.  Call on God, Universal Energy, your Angels, your Guides, your Ancestors, whomever you feel comfortable and safe with.  Ask for their help.  Fill your body with white light, and then draw coloured light (just allow a colour to come to you) through your crown chakra (an energy point on the top of your head) and send it anywhere in your body that needs healing.  Feel the warmth as the energy radiates through your body, uplifting and healing you.  Know that answers will come while you are sleeping.

Give thanks, send this same healing gift from you to anyone or anywhere else if it feels right, and then sleep.  Expect dreams that clarify, empower and enlighten.

Welcome to Week 5 of our six week Making My Life Work for Me Program. (If you’ve only just stumbled upon us, pop back and read the very first post so you can gather the materials we’ll be using today and catch up on prior activities.)

Our focus this week is on empowering ourselves through ‘letting go’ of people, possessions, attitudes and the not-so-great-past; all those things that hold us back, weaken our self-belief and self-esteem. It’s time to have a clean up, and take out the trash!

Instructions:

We follow the same format each week.  Read through this entire post before you get started. You can do the activities all on one day, or spread them put over the week – whatever works best for you.

Meditation:

This week’s meditation exercise is a moving meditation. It is a Qi Gong form called Shower of Light, and this simple exercise combines breathing, movement and awareness.  It allows you to consciously ‘scoop up’ energy and push it through your body. It will balance and energise your chakras, and help clear your energy field. It’s one of my favourite things to do.

To start, sit or stand and hold your crystal, draping your scarf or shawl around your shoulders. Close your eyes and offer up the prayer or intention that you release trapped energy and emotions within you, that you ground strongly into the earth, and that you re-energise and nourish your body with Universal Energy.

When you’re ready, put down the crystal and scarf, and perform this gentle series of movements.  You can follow along with the video, or observe and then perform the exercise barefoot outside in the garden or on a balcony facing nature.

Set aside ten minutes for this.

 

Visualisation:

Do this straight after your meditation, when you are ready and open for receiving! Close your eyes and use your imagination. See yourself the way you want yourself to be in the world.  See yourself filled with clarity and purpose, enjoying healthy relationships where you are loved, valued and respected. See yourself expressing yourself in the world in ways that are authentic and aligned to your core values.  Really put some energy into this.  You can repeat this step again this week (even daily) if it feels right.  Thoughts are things, and this is how you manifest in the Universe!

Using Your Journal:

You’ve committed to making a better life for yourself.  A better life means respecting yourself, clearing out the clutter, letting go of the relationships and situations that no longer work for you, and freeing up your energy to channel towards new opportunities. Value yourself! Forgive the past and move on. Value your time, your ideas and your surroundings. Be open to letting go in all its forms as you work with your journal this week.

I’m not surprised at the message of this week’s card.  We hold on tight to things sometimes, and that holding on so tightly stops our sense of flow. Lack, fear and doubt, poverty consciousness and anxiety can fill our cupboards and our minds to bursting with things we no longer need – broken things, old things, things that don’t suit us anymore…

Use some of your energy this week to play this simple game. It’s called ‘Just One Thing’. Open a draw or a cupboard or a file. Choose just one thing to throw out, give away, or even to sell. During the week, do this at random in different areas of your home and workplace. If it feels right, choose more than one thing each time. Allow yourself to be lighter and clearer – ready for new opportunities, relationships, ideas and energy to flow your way.

Week 5 Journal Activity:

This week use your stream of consciousness around the question Who or what do I give my power away to? Allow your mind to travel far back into the past, as well as sitting in awareness about your life now, and any fears or concerns you have that are draining the energy out of your future. Who has eroded your confidence? Who needs forgiving, including yourself? What stories do you tell yourself that limit you?  Who saps your confidence and makes you feel small?  Draw pictures or mind map if you feel like it.

And this week’s creative activity is:

Collage – What I need to let go  This collage will help you to understand what you’re ready to release, including any behaviours, foods or other things that sabotage your health, energy, happiness and success.

Take your pile of old magazines and place them in front of you.  Holding your crystal close your eyes and say out loud “Universe, I am open to all Guidance and my own Higher Wisdom to help me understand what I need to let go of in my life.”  Take a moment and sit in that energy, really feeling yourself connecting into and opening to all that your soul is ready to release.

When you’re ready, open your eyes and start flicking through the magazines.  If any pictures or words appeal to you, cut or rip them out and place them beside you. When you have enough images cut them up neatly.  You can also use photographs, if that helps.

Draw or create an image that represents you, in the middle of your page.  Now make some lines of various distances, radiating out from you. Use your own words and wisdoms, as well as your collected images, to anchor your images of what you are ready to release at the end of each line.  You’re already creating distance between you and these things by stretching them away from you with these lines.

If your journal isn’t big enough, feel free to use a sheet of cardboard. Glue your images to the page and leave it open to dry.

Come back to this later, and look carefully at what you have created.  Then in your imagination, take a big pair of silver scissors and snip each line. As you snip, say to yourself I forgive you, I thank you, and I release you. Let any emotions come to the surface, honour them, and let them drift away too.  You might like to go for a cleansing walk when you’re done!

Day 14 – Gratitude Challenge

At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us. ~ Albert Schweitzer

If there was a Gold Medal for consistency and commitment, today I would give one to you!  Well done – today you will complete two entire weeks of gratitude.

Gratitude is a powerful force for good in our world. Not only is it magnetic to attracting more positive emotions, experiences, and relationships, it is also able to be flowed from us to others so that we can uplift and support loved ones or strangers. In doing so we raise the vibration of all involved.

When we are grateful for the athletic ability, health, physicality and wellbeing of those around us, we also draw those qualities towards ourselves.

It’s a perfect time for that right now, while the Olympics are being held. But at any time in our lives, we can appreciate and give thanks for those who have these qualities of grace, power, and endurance or the values of good sportsmanship, enthusiasm, commitment and courage.

Can your positive thoughts actually influence someone else’s performance? Yes, it’s possible. If they are open to allowing, or are in a vibration that is aligned with your intention, then your energy strengthens and uplifts their own.  How do we do that?  Not by wanting them to win, and not by pleading or cheering from the sidelines (or the couch in front of television!).  We do it by holding them in appreciation – by being grateful for all that they are or all that they do and feeling that swell of pure love and gratitude for them in our hearts.

But what if you are nervous for them?  What if you are anxious about their performance, or negative in some way? Don’t worry – these energies are more about YOU than about the other person.

We are only ever affected by the negativity of others when we are also in a negative space.

The best way to stay in a positive vibration?

Counting Our Blessings and Using our Gratitude Rock

If you need a detailed reminder of the process, you can review it here in Day 1 of the Gratitude Challenge.

  1. List five Blessings in your journal, explaining why you are grateful for each one.
  2. Count your Blessings off on your fingers, summoning positive emotion and saying Thank You from your heart for each one.
  3. Think of someone to whom you would like to flow health, well-being and positive physical energy.  Take a photo of them or write their name on a piece of paper.  Hold the photo or name in your hands and say I intend for you _____________ and I give thanks for the Blessing of _________ in your life.  Really feel that positive energy in your heart.  Now place the photo or name under your Gratitude Rock.  Know that as you affirm this for others, you are also allowing for similar energies to come into your own life.
  4. Tonight before you go to sleep, hold your Gratitude Rock and affirm I am richly Blessed. I have an Abundance of Good in my life. Visualise one thing you have been grateful for today. Swell that positive energy up in your heart like a beautiful golden light, and give a heart-felt Thank You, Thank You, Thank You to the Universe, then imagine a tiny shower of golden light travelling from your heart into your Gratitude Rock.
  5. Still holding your Gratitude Rock, bless your fellow travellers on this Gratitude Journey by sending them golden light, and saying Thank you.  I Bless You.  I intend for you Love, Miracles and Abundance. Know that as you are saying this for them, they are also saying this for you. Feel that connection and gratitude and know that there is real love and support for you here. Place your rock back beside your bed, and go to sleep, cocooned in this good energy.

If all you do today is these five steps, know that is enough.

Gratitude for the Grace of the Physical

Today, find a way to express gratitude for the health and wellbeing of someone else.  You could do this by sitting in a park, watching a jogger go by.  You could do it by watching a dancer, or a sporting event.

You could even do it by watching children run around in the playground.

Feel how easily their body moves.  Feel the energy within them, the power and the grace.  Feel their emotions of determination or control or give-it-everything-I’ve-got.

From your heart, feel appreciation for the sheer beauty and magnificence of the human form.  And when you’re ready, say a heartfelt Thank You.  Thank You to the person who is showing you this picture of athleticism and health.  Thank you to the Universe for our physical forms.

And if you’re watching a live (or live televised) sporting event, and you want to positively influence the outcome?  Just practice that emotion of supreme gratitude.  Let yourself be blown away with appreciation for their efforts, their skill, their ability and determination.  Let the outcome of the actual event or act become unimportant, and let your feel-good attitude become everything!

Day 12 – Gratitude Challenge

We’ve been so busy being grateful for the world around us, and the people in our lives, that we’ve spent little time giving thanks for one of the most amazing blessings of all – our own bodies.

We are Souls having human experiences, and our Souls are housed in the most wondrous of vehicles. We are gifted with sight, hearing, taste, touch and smell.  We are gifted with movement.  We have thoughts and emotions, and our bodies provide us with the means to visualise, create and explore.

Our physical bodies have a wisdom all of their own, and guide us on a journey from conception though to the end of our days – constantly changing, adapting, evolving.

It is only because of the miracle of our physical bodies that our souls can have this human experience.

It isn’t about outer beauty, our weight or the colour of our eyes or hair. External beauty is subjective, and transient at best.

Today, give thanks for a body that gives us the privilege of walking on this earth.  Give thanks for a body that serves us; a heart that keeps beating, legs to walk with, fingers to type with, hands to hold, eyes to see, ears to hear, a mouth to talk and taste. Internal organs and a mind that keep the whole show running without our conscious input.

Loving My Body

When you have your bath or shower today, take a few minutes and really appreciate your body. As you wash each part of your body, spend a moment and give thanks for all it does for you.  For example: Say out loud Thank you, foot and then say why you are thankful for your foot.  Let your shower be an act of gratitude and self love.

When you towel yourself dry or rub moisturiser into your skin, thank the Universe for providing you with this precious body.  Give thanks for your health and well-being, knowing that whatever we value and affirm multiplies in our lives.

Day 11 – Gratitude Challenge

There is nothing as magnetic to positive life experiences as a joyful heart. Joy is heart-centred, and is the spiritual expression of happiness. It is centred in deep gratitude and awareness, and it can be generated by the smallest of things.

Take a look back through your gratitude journal and you’ll begin to see how many of the things that give you pause for appreciation are life’s simple moments and pleasures.

When we sit in deep gratitude and appreciation we begin smiling from the inside, laughter and kindness become second nature, and we feel abundant and benevolent towards the world…

As we have started every day of this Gratitude  Challenge let’s begin by amplifying our feel-good appreciation of the many good things in our lives.

The Art of Bliss Bombing

This is a gorgeous activity, and one of my favourites. Take yourself to a public place, like a mall, coffee shop, or a bench in a park near where people are walking by.  Sit somewhere unobtrusive.  When someone walks past, shoot a radiant shower of golden sparks from your heart to theirs and silently bless them with love.  You can even send joy and love from your heart to trees, animals, plants, bus-loads of commuters and overhead planes.  You might  want to say to yourself, “I bless you with love.  Know joy today.”  If anyone catches your eye, just smile.

Feel your open heart begin to tingle with energy and joy.  In that place of energetic connection look around you at the world and you will see that it IS brighter and more beautiful because of YOU.

Today you have acted as an Earth Angel.  Your Lightwork has helped contribute to our energetic abundance.

It’s okay to let your face crack open from smiling!  Thank the Universe for this amazing experience we call life.  Expect an outpouring of feel-good emotion. ♥ Don’t be at all surprised at how the Universe will mirror your love and energetic abundance back to you. You are becoming more and more magnetic to the flow of good and grace.

Day 10 – Gratitude Challenge

Our future is not fixed.  It is mutable and constantly changing in response to our thoughts, actions and beliefs.

When we believe that our Universe is abundant, and that it is a kind, safe and helpful place – indeed, that the Universe can be utterly delightful – then we start attracting more and more of that kind of positive energy into our lives.

From that place of Abundant Thinking and Gratitude we start to find ourselves expanding. We begin to feel more uplifted, more upbeat.  We gain confidence.

We begin to believe in possibilities. We begin to allow the Grace of the Universe to touch our lives. We get ourselves out of resistance and back into flow.

And from that place of flow, our lives change forever.

But how do we get to that place? Abundant thinking is created by counting our blessings.

Day 9 – Gratitude Challenge

No one does this journey we call life on their own.  So many people contribute to our well-being, our growth, and our happiness. Some of these people we will form close relationships with, others we may never meet in person, and some we may never even hold awareness of.

The human heart is wired to be kind, to be helpful, to be compassionate.  Look at any natural disaster and you’ll see how humans open up their hearts and do all they can to help their fellow man.

For all of us, at times, life can be challenging or even downright hard. It’s amazing how a sincere thank you, a kind word, a genuine appreciation can lift another soul up, and give them something of real value that may change their day, or even their whole life.

Then there are all of the people in our life who have taught us something, who have shared our laughter and tears, given us a break, dared us to dream and to grow…

And what about the people we rarely think about – those souls who are here to keep us safe, who run our cities and towns, who provide our essential services, clean our offices, mend the roads, polish the floors of our hospitals?

Each of us stands on the shoulders of so many people who have helped us.

Are you ready for more of a challenge? Today we’re going to practice gratitude for the helpful people in our lives.  As we honour and give thanks for the energies of helpfulness and kindness in our lives, we attract more people who will happily support us. And it’s through that flow of co-operative energy that everything gets done in this Universe!

Helpful people are everywhere…

Some of our greatest blessings are the acts of generosity of others in our lives.  Helpful people are everywhere.  Stop for a moment today and run a slideshow of some of the helpful people from your own life.

They could be small moments, like someone letting you step ahead of them in a taxi queue, or offering you a lift in the rain. The friendly cafe worker who always gives you the biggest muffin.  The book store owner who rings to let you know they tracked down an out-of-print edition for you.

They could be bigger moments – a nurse sitting with you after their shift has finished because you’re frightened or in pain, and they couldn’t go home until you were comfortable; a teacher mentoring you towards a bigger goal when you didn’t believe in yourself, and helping you over the line.

Sometimes the help is so big it’s hard to get your head around. The relative who loans you the money when there is nowhere else to turn. The donor who gives their organs for you or someone you love.  The person who gives you the job when you and they both know there are better candidates, but you are on the bones of your arse and this is your last chance… The person who puts your name forward, and because of their actions plucks you from career obscurity and puts you on the road to success.  The arts foundation who run the mentoring program you’re selected for that changes your life.  The friend/lover/family member who never gives up on you.

As you think of them, hold love and gratitude in your heart and say Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

And as you go through your day today, offer genuine and heart-felt thanks to those around you for the many small acts of helpfulness that flow through our lives, usually unnoticed.  Look them in the eye and say Thank You when they hand you your mail, make your coffee, punch your bus ticket, bag your groceries, clear your plates, hold the door for you, help you with dinner.

The more we acknowledge helpful people in our lives, the more they show up and support us. The Universe, our Guides and Angels can only work through us and those around us.

Day 8 – Gratitude Challenge

Congratulations! You’ve completed your first full week of gratitude. Well done. ♥  You are gently retraining your brain to remove resistance to flow, and installing habits of appreciation and abundant thinking.

We are all looking for greater flow in our lives. When we are in ‘flow’ life just works, somehow.  We find the right job, the money is there, we have love and music and contentment in our hearts. When we are in flow doors open… miracles happen… life just feels good.

The greatest obstacle to flow is resistance. Resistance isn’t something external to us. It is our internal dialogue.  I’m sure you know what I mean.  That thing we do where our head gets filled with grumbles and complaints:

Not fair.  Too hard.  No fun.  Not enough.  Not worthy. Too much money.  Not enough money.  Too fat. Not smart. How come she gets that? How come he got that? When’s it my turn?  It’s never my turn. I’m an idiot. I can’t believe I did that. I don’t deserve that. That good thing will never happen for me.

Can you feel how anti-magnetic those kind of thoughts are to the good stuff?

Can you feel how magnetic these thoughts are to more cranky, miserable and impoverished kinds of events, relationships and outcomes?

Yes, you know what I’m going to say…

Finding an attitude of gratitude.

When we can find something to be grateful for, no matter how difficult our current circumstances, we begin to ease ourselves out of that struggle energy and back into flow.

So let’s get into that affirming energy that allows us to move from flow to allowing, by counting our Blessings.

If you feel especially flat, then carry your Gratitude Rock with you, or lie/sit in bed at the start or end of the day, and hold it over your heart so that its energy can recharge you.

If you have an abundance of gratitude and feel-good energy, send some extra to your fellow travellers on this journey, with the intent to uplift those who need it. You can do this as easily as closing your eyes and imagining or intending it be so.

The beautiful thing about this challenge is that we are all in this together, helping and energising each other, and amplifying our collective energy.

I’m So Happy For You, and Thankful for Your Success!

Think of something you really want.  It could be a soul mate, a great promotion, a publishing contract, a gold medal…

It’s okay that you don’t have it yet. Someone else does.  And their having it proves that it’s also possible for you to have it.  The energy of their success is something you can draw to you and make your own, because gratitude amplifies the energy of what we are thankful for and creates it in our own lives.

Today, think of something you really want. Then think of someone who has it already.

Maybe you want a loving and lasting relationship, and your grandparents still hold hands and adore each other after 50 years of marriage. Hold a picture of them, and of their beautiful relationship in your mind. Swell your heart with feel-good emotion and gratitude for their loving relationship.  Then say “I’m so happy for you, and for your success. I am thankful for the energy of a loving marriage.” Really feel those words, and mean them with all your heart.

Maybe you want a publishing contract.  Think of an author whose books and success you admire. (This won’t work if you are resentful of them or jealous of them, or think their books suck.)  Hold a picture of the author, and of their incredible sales figures and wonderful books in your mind. Swell your heart with feel-good emotion and gratitude for their success as writers.  Then say “I’m so happy for you, and for your success. I am thankful for the energy of being a successful published author.” Really feel those words, and mean them with all your heart.

Whatever it is that you want to experience, find ways to be grateful for that energy as it already exists in the Universe. There is no surer way to melt that resistance and magnetise yourself to that Abundance.
