Advice for Emerging Sensitive and Psychic Souls

Hello, Lovelies!
If you’re sensitive energetically then you are bound to be sensitive in other areas of your life.  This is especially true if you are going through a process of spiritual or psychic awakening. At a time of awakening, energies and abilities that have been dormant within you begin to assert themselves in your life.  This can be quite a turbulent and confusing time.

With the year’s current astrological events many sensitive souls are going though a period of spiritual or psychic awakening.

The following tips will help you to adjust to these emerging energies and gifts over the weeks and months ahead:

  • Rest.  When you’re growing and changing, rest is one of the best gifts you can give yourself.
  • Avoid crowded places such as shopping centres and football games when you are feeling particularly sensitive or energetically vulnerable.
  • Avoid difficult relationships and people who drain, upset or unbalance you.  Limit contact with the crazy-makers in your life.
  • If fluorescent and other artificial light sources bother you counteract them by spending time in daylight or moonlight.
  • Eat well.  Favour organic foods, with an emphasis on fresh, local produce, with plenty of leafy green vegetables and root vegetables, rice, pulses and yoghurt. Avoid processed food and sugar. Some people may need to avoid meat at this time.  Others may need meat to ground them.  Listen to your body.  If you’re especially sensitive avoid wheat as well.
  • Avoid alcohol, drugs and stimulants. Really be honest with yourself about substances like coffee and how they may affect you. Cut down or avoid if necessary.
  • Take a good powdered magnesium supplement.  Your muscles and nervous system use magnesium to relax and the body burns it like rocket fuel when you are engaging in energy work and psychic activity.
  • Drink plenty of fresh, clean water.
  • Use yoga, qi gung or tai chi to ground you and move energy through your body.
  • Spend time in nature.
  • Spend time on your own, exploring the things that interest you.
  • Spend time journalling and in self-exploration using tools such as crystals or cards if that feels right for you.
  • Avoid chemicals in your cleaning and personal care products. Avoid places that have a strong artificial or chemical energy.
  • Use natural and alternate therapies to help clear and support your body.
  • Meditate.
  • Pray, and talk with God.
  • Explore vibrational therapies such as essential oils, bush or bach flower essences, crystals, music, colour and aromatherapy.
  • Trust, look for support and know that things do get easier over time.

Journal for Clarity and Connection 1 – All about my Body

Week 1:  All About My Body

This week we are focussing on our physical bodies and all that entails for us.  Our plan is to understand and connect with our physical selves, a part of us often ignored as we rush through our busy lives.

Journaling Exercise:

Buy a journal if you don’t already have one..  Commit to writing a few pages every morning, and spend this time reflecting on what you like and dislike about your health and body.  Use any of these starters to help you:

  • When I tune into my body I feel…
  • The parts of me I have neglected are…
  • If my internal organs, and my body could talk, they would tell me that…
  • The sorts of movement my body enjoys are…
  • When I look at myself in the mirror I…
  • I would like to look at myself in the mirror and see…
  • When I eat…
  • It feels amazing to…
  • I look really great in…
  • I would feel better if…
  • There are a few things I need in order to look and feel my best.  They are…
  • People who could help me are…
  • A time in my life when I felt really good about my physical self was…
  • My body would love it if…
  • The things I am grateful to my physical body for are…

Read back over your journal in the evening. Use a highlighter to mark things that are important to you so you can form a clear idea of what changes you would like to make in your life.  Continue this exercise for the whole week, focusing on health, nutrition, clothing style, hair, makeup, sleep, exercise and well being.  Create lists and tasks to help you move your body to a place of wellness and feel-good.  Transfer your lists to a day planner or master list book, and begin to action them.

Activity:

Go for a walk each day, or do some form of exercise that refreshes you.  Clean out your fridge and kitchen cupboards, get rid of all the junk, and shop for healthy food.  Eat fresh fruit and vegetables every day, drink plenty of clean, fresh water, cut down on caffeine, alcohol, cigarettes, processed food and sugar.

 

Sort out your wardrobe and bathroom cabinets.  Throw out old, broken, never used and low self-worth stuff.  Work out what you need to do to start looking and feeling better and add those things to your list!

Nurture your body with massages, baths, oils and lotions. Treat it to good eating, and gentle (or more rigorous if you’re up to it) movement. Tell your body often that you are grateful for all it does for you. Thank it and love it and appreciate it. Listen to it, and it will tell you what it needs!

What to do if you can’t love yourself… 5 steps towards healing

Everyone knows that self-love is vital to building self-esteem and self-confidence, for setting healthy boundaries and feeling good about yourself. Problem is, if you don’t feel good about yourself to start with, if you don’t like yourself much and you’re feeling pretty depressed and miserable, then trying to love yourself is like holding onto a helium-filled birthday balloon and expecting it can fly you to Mars.  Mission Impossible!

So what do you do when your sense of self is hanging by a thread, but you just can’t make that mental leap from loathing to loving?

When loving yourself and feeling good about yourself seems impossible, then what you need to do is parent yourself. That’s where you do the things you know you need to do, even when you don’t want to, can’t be bothered, or feel that you don’t deserve to treat yourself well.

Good parents create environments where we can grow, be safe, and learn to get to know ourselves and the world around us.  They support us, love us and guide us until we move to a place of maturity where we can do these things for ourselves.

Even when you find it hard to love yourself, there is a wise part of your soul that intuitively knows what you need to get back to a place of balance. Your job is to let that parent part of you – the Wise Soul – make the choices for the part of you that is struggling to get on your feet and feel good again.

Here are five simple things you can do to make a start towards healing your relationship with yourself:

1.  Decide to accept yourself right now, as you are and where you are in life. Too often we tell ourselves that we’ll like ourselves better when we’ve lost weight, found a job, left a bad relationship, found a good relationship, stopped smoking, gotten fit, or won lotto. When we put conditions on loving ourselves, we never get to that mysterious just-around-the-corner place that is forever up ahead and out of our reach.  Be honest with yourself.  If life is painful, admit that. Don’t numb yourself with alcohol, drugs, food or overwork.  Reach out for help if you’re having trouble coping, or need some new skills and strategies to make tomorrow look different to today.

2.  Create a safe space.  Everyone needs a place to call home, where they can relax, be themselves, and surround themselves with things that reflect their sense of self. Music, plants, posters or paintings, colours and fragrances – all of these things can help ground you and give you a sense of belonging and security.  It’s not about the objects as much as the energy they create. Start by making sure your space is clean. Dirt, mess and clutter drain you and create stagnant energy.  Clear the clutter, and then begin to make your space somewhere that is inviting, uplifting and positive.

3.  Practice respect.  Respect yourself enough to avoid, minimise your exposure to or end toxic relationships and to stop toxic behavours. Respect your body by eating well, and by exercising daily – even when it’s hard.  Especially when it’s hard and you don’t want to. That’s what parents do.  They make sure we drink enough water, eat our greens, get enough sleep, and get out of bed in the morning.  In everything that you do, ask yourself “Does this action or choice honour me?”  When we suffer from a lack of self-love it’s easy to make choices that don’t do the best by us.  In some cases we even choose things that sabotage our well-being.  Once again, if you’re really struggling here, ask for help, whether it’s a counsellor, personal trainer, rehab facility or a good friend who has your back.

4.  Find something to look forward to and work towards it, or include it in your life.  Whether it’s an overseas holiday, salsa dancing lessons, art classes or writing a best-seller, everyone needs to have a sense of purpose, and that purpose doesn’t have to be career related. 5.  Spend some time in nature each day. Fresh air and sunshine has been used as a remedy for depression and to heal all manner of ills for centuries. Watching animals in nature has been proven to lower blood pressure, increase endorphins and relax tension in our muscles. Having contact with pets also helps us heal and feel better about ourselves, and teaches us responsibility for others.

Don’t give up. Be the parent you need for yourself. There is strength and wisdom within you.  Trust!
