Double Happiness ♥♥

“The most important thing is to enjoy your life—to be happy—it’s all that matters.” ~ Audrey Hepburn

Today is the first day in over a week that I feel back in my body, and back to earth. What a big week or so, with the passing of our beautiful dog, Charlie, and then my Channelling Intensive Retreat. Last night I was like a Nana.  I hopped into bed at about 7, and I slept through until 5.30am. I woke feeling grounded and refreshed, and in need of a big walk.

I’m so glad that was the first thing I did this morning.

Ping An came to greet me, all on her own.  She too is only a little over a week old, and until now Mum has been very protective of her, keeping her separate from the herd and back from us.  Mum lost her calf to ticks last year, and mourned terribly, so I can understand that this time she doesn’t want to let her baby out of her sight.

Today, Ping An was resting on her own in the early morning sunshine. When she saw me, she stood up and bounded over and then stood with her head cocked to one side, curious to know who I was.

I sat down on the wet grass, careful to be quiet, and she came right over, sniffing me before finally licking my ear with her rough little tongue and then bounding away with the strangeness and mad courage of it all. Mum came racing over to see that Ping An (her name means Peace) was okay, and then led her back to the safety of the grazing herd. My heart just exploded with happiness.

On the way home to the house I stopped by the mulberry tree and picked the ripe juicy fruit, most of which made it into the bowl. (Some of it naturally made it into my mouth, or to Bert’s.)

Tonight I shall cook my harvest up into something yummy, and I’ll share the recipe tomorrow.

That’s my idea of Double Happiness ♥♥
