Are You Honouring Your Need To Cocoon?

“Most of the things we need to be most fully alive never come in busyness. They grow in rest.” ~ Mark Buchanan

The energies of June, and more specifically of this week, call on us to make rest a priority.

For many of us, the start of 2018 has been busy. For some, it has been incredibly demanding.

So now what is needed is to rest, to relax, to regroup.

There will be time for busy-busy later. But for now, honour that need you to withdraw for an hour or a day.

Rest is vital. Withdrawing from the energy of others so that your own can be restored is essential.

Don’t see it as a weakness. See it as something to look forward to. Something to sink into. Something to help you recover your zest for life, your sense of self, your way forward again.

Tune in to yourself and your energy levels this week and honour that need for self-time and self-care. You’re worth it, and by honouring that need to cocoon you’ll be able to put your best foot forward as we move into the next phase of the year when things start to become busy again.

Thinking of you and sending so much love, Nicole ❤ xx

The Energies of March– 2018

Don’t you ever let a soul in the world tell you that you can’t be exactly who you are.”
~  Lady Gaga

Hello, Lovelies :)

March is a month for relationships, commitment to what matters to us, and for being unapologetically ourselves. The more we stay true to ourselves in March the more we will be able to manifest profound and/or quite magical changes!

Cards for the Month:

I’ve chosen two cards for March for you: one from Colette Baron-Reid’s The Enchanted Map and one from Steven Farmer’s Earth Magic Oracle. Please note I don’t use these cards in a conventional way, but rather as a stimulus for channeled information.

Here is what I have received from each card:

“At the center of your being
you have the answer;
you know who you are
and you know what you want.”
~ Lao Tzu

March is a month for rediscovering ourselves and owning who we are without apology. It’s great for examining or creating our plans, goals and dreams, and for exploring our relationships with ourselves and others. Really dive deep this month with your journaling and planning.

Ask yourself the big questions about how you feel about things, what you believe in and what you stand for. Don’t be surprised to find that your views have shifted since the last time you checked in with yourself. It’s a month of strengthening confidence about our life or business direction, and for feeling ready to share our ideas, gifts or talents in bigger ways.

The second card I’ve chosen is LOTUS FLOWER.

A flower blooming in the desert proves to the world that adversity, no matter how great, can be overcome.
~ Matshona Dhliwayo

March is a relationship-centred month. Love and friendships can blossom in March, so make sure that you have time for socialising and for spending time with friends, family or your love interest. It’s also a strong month for fertility and creativity, so take that into account in your planning. Anything you want to grow will grow well in March – babies, gardens, projects, hobbies, new ideas. Nurture them and sing them into being.

Finally, March is a month for getting off the fence, committing to what matters to you and stepping back from the things and relationships about which you are indifferent or out of synch. Commit to the things that you want to make work and that you care about – the relationship, the health plan, the writers’ group, the local environment campaign, the business you want to start or need to build on, or whatever else is your thing. If you’re not sure what you want to do use this month to get clarity. You will!

Best crystals this month?

Amazonite and Clear Quartz

Amazonite helps you to stand in your power and be brave in putting yourself and your ideas out into the world.

Clear Quartz amplifies your intuition and your ability to tune in to Universal and Personal Wisdom.

Essential oils to support your journey?

Young Living’s Abundance blend is my choice for March. Containing orange, patchouli, frankincense, clove, ginger, myrhh, cinnamon and spruce it has a rich spicy aroma and I find it very grounding and centering. I love this oil for helping me get into a space of allowing, receiving and flow. If ever I feel out of sorts, unworthy, undeserving or out of alignment Abundance is my go-to oil. Usage: A drop over your heart and on your wrists as a perfume and/or on crown of head, back of neck and behind ears work well. So does diffusing the oil of putting a few drops in your bath water.

Want to make your own blend? Each of the following oils will work beautifully on their own but they’ll also make a great combination for diffusing. Orange is uplifting, busts stress and helps us overcome self-doubt. Frankincense elevates our mood and promotes spiritual connection and intuition, Patchouli reduces inflammation and stress in the body and it helps us to feel deserving and open to abundance, Myrhh is a deeply spiritual oil – it’s a resin with a smoky sweet and slightly bitter smell which helps link our left and right brain bringing balance, calm and centering.  (Frankincense and Myrrh are said to be two of the three gifts brought by the three wise men to the baby Jesus, the third gift being gold.) To diffuse add 2 or three drops of each oil to your room or personal diffuser. You can find the oils here.

Stop the Hustle! Resting and Healing Is Work Too!

“Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.” ~  Rumi

In the northern hemisphere on August 21 we experienced a total solar eclipse. Do you remember? That momentary quietening of the sun’s energies allowed a ramping up of our intuition. The eclipse also heralded an intense period of connection and integration to support us on our soul-awakening journey which lasted until earlier this week – the morning of November 13 – when Venus joined Jupiter in our sky, creating an energy that will thunderbolt us into a place of harmony, connection and expansion that has been previously unknown to us a we move into the years ahead.

Last night we had a wonderful webinar for our Year of ME group, and my students from this year’s earlier retreats. During the webinar we discussed this energetic period that we have just been through, known as The Deepening, and the period we are now entering into, known as The Expansion.

Perhaps you have felt and been affected by these energies too? The past few months have been a time for deep inner work and vibrational shift. So much of what was no longer needed has begun to fall away within us; old energies, encodings and patterns that were suitable for the old era that ended in 2012, but that will hinder us in our quest to fully express our soul energy as we move into this new era of being. It’s also been a time of strengthening for our intuitive connections and for a natural increase in our psychic perception.

This kind of work, soul work and healing, is big energy work. It takes so much of our conscious and unconscious energy, leaving very little for us to function with in our daily lives. You may have experienced this as deep fatigue, a loss of direction and certainty, mood swings, or an exacerbation of old issues such as illness, anxiety or depression. Please don’t worry. It’s a temporary thing, and you will soon begin to feel that slow but certain shift back to clarity, wellness and energy again. For some of you that shift will be the first in this lifetime after having been in struggle and out of synch with the world around you since birth (you know, that profound awareness of never quite fitting in within your family, community or the wider world).

Things are changing. This new period known as The Expansion will last until March 2020. There’s plenty of time as we gently move into an expanded sense of self, with a new connection to who we are and the possibilities before us. It’s a time of recalibration as we come into alignment with our soul’s own truth and learn to live from that truth in our daily lives.

Meanwhile, don’t push. Don’t hustle. Please. It doesn’t help, and most often it harms you or slows down the shift and healing. Tune in to your body and be honest about how you feel. Tune into your soul and see how your ‘psychic shield’ energy is. You know what I mean. When you are feeling strong and well your psychic ‘shield’ energy is high. People and noises and smells and energies just won’t bother you. You’ll feel up to confrontation and for standing your ground. You’ll be positive and clear, and what other people think of you won’t bother you at all. When your physical battery is low and you are tired your psychic ‘shield’ will be lower too. You’ll find that you take on other people’s energies easily and thing that you normally won’t notice might begin to distress you immensely.

If your psychic ‘shield’ energy is low, avoid difficult people and situations. Withdraw from crowds. Decline the invitations and say no to the things you know will stretch or stress you.

If you are tired, rest. If you are confused or low in energy choose tasks that can be done from that space. No good can come from forcing yourself to be creative or innovative or entrepreneurial or energetic if that is not the truth of the energy you are in.

The more you tune into and honour the energetic levels within yourself right now, the faster you will integrate this shift, allowing healing, clarity and knowing to flood back into your body.

I know, it’s the opposite of what most people are telling you to do. I’m saying slow down while the world speeds up. But when you slow down and learn to connect into your soul energy you tap into your personal power and that compass which will guide you well in your life. And isn’t that better than racing around, bouncing off the walls with fatigue and being miserably unhappy, uncertain and sure of only that you are not good enough?

If you’re intuitive, sensitive or empathic it’s been rough going these past few months. Go gently now and let this shift become a positive turning point for you. I promise, it will be worth it.

Meanwhile, I’m holding space for you to be all that you came to this life to be.

All my love, Nicole  xx

Setting Clear Boundaries for 2016

“Setting boundaries is a way of caring for myself. It doesn’t make me mean, selfish, or uncaring because I don’t do things your way. I care about me too.”
~ Christine Morgan

2016 is a very important year, for many reasons. One is that it is a foundation year. Our choices in 2016 will set the tone for the next nine-year cycle, magnifying the energy of our thoughts, activities and interests from 2016, and delivering more of that in the coming years.

Think about that for a moment.

Whatever we choose (or by default don’t choose and simply let happen), we’ll be signing ourselves up for more of that in the years to come.

How do you want the next decade to look?

Like the years you’ve just been through? Or something different?

2016 is a year where it benefits us to make space for what is meaningful to us. It’s not enough to simply think about what we want. It’s time to start incorporating the activities and actions that will shape the unfolding of our lives in ways that are pleasing to us. We don’t even need to make wholesale and radical changes – we simply need to make sure that if something is important to us we make a little room for that in our lives in 2016. We only need to make a start, and then consistently keep having that thing show up in our year through conscious choices (that may end up becoming new habits!).

Boundaries become important. As we create time for ourselves and our dreams we must also guard that time so that it is not eroded by old habits of always putting others or unimportant stuff first. The boundary is not just there for others, it is also there for ourselves.

Boundaries create protected spaces. These spaces let us and the world know that something here is important. Those protected spaces reflect our values, our emerging priorities, our precious projects and relationships.

Boundaries are about us saying yes to what matters, and ensuring that what matters is represented in our daily lives.

Boundaries are also about us saying no. No to the relationships, behaviours, thought patterns and beliefs that take us away from our values and what matters most to us. No to the circumstances that limit or harm us, or that needlessly waste our energy and time.

As adults we have choices. 2016 is a great year for exercising those choices.

In 2016, what will you choose?

How to Have a Heart-Centred Year

2013-12-09 10.05.54

“You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection”
~ Gautama Buddha

I care for myself. The more solitary, the more friendless, the more unsustained I am, the more I will respect myself.”
~ Charlotte Brontë, Jane Eyre

I’m betting you’ve never had a year where you made yourself – your wants and needs – front and centre to the Universe.

A recurrent theme among my current retreat participants is that each year, no matter what their initial intentions, time slips away and they find themselves (once again…) putting everyone else and everyone else’s dreams and goals before themselves.

But how can this serve us?

I believe it can’t.

I’m not talking about selfishness, self-centredness and egoism. I’m talking about choosing to be good to yourself, to make room for your interests and goals, to speak up for yourself, to meet your needs, and not just feed yourself from the scraps of life after everyone else has dined.

So, if you’re game, I’m going to ask you to do something radical. I’m going to ask you to make a commitment to yourself. Not any old kind of commitment, like the promises we constantly make with ourselves about exercising more or eating less chocolate, which get broken at the first uphill.

I’m asking you to make a sacred promise. This is metanoia – a sacred and unbreakable promise you make with yourself. The kind of promise where our life can radically change, as we turn away from the shadows and put our faces to the light. It’s a promise we commit to not breaking.

You chose when you will start. It can be any day beginning from today until January 1, 2014. And the duration is for the entirety of 2014.

All of us here at my retreat took this commitment yesterday. We made the sacred commitment to live our lives in a different way, by putting ourselves first. By loving ourselves and treating ourselves well – with kindness and respect.

For some it was the hardest promise they have made, after a lifetime of self-neglect, low self-esteem and unworthiness issues.

But I know it is a promise that shall turn their lives around.

Will you join us? 2014 is almost here. This IS the year where everything can be different for you.

Commitment Ceremony

Choose a crystal or stone that resonates for you, and that gives you comfort to hold. Find a clear patch of ground, outside, and stand barefoot with your face upturned towards the sun. Close your eyes, and centre yourself. (How to do that here)

Feel into your heart. And then in your own way, and in your own words offer up your promise to the Universe – a promise that you will love yourself and put yourself first in 2014. A promise that you will take care of yourself, respect yourself and meet your own needs. A promise that you will live from your heart, with integrity and awareness.

It might be one of the hardest things you ever do. I also promise that it will be among the best! Much love to you, ♥ Nicole xx

Do what you have to do

NotUsed-wantSomething

Sometimes what we need to do doesn’t feel good. Or it feels unfamiliar, all wrong, and way out of our comfort zone. It can often involve not just effort, but sacrifice.  While everyone else is taking things easy, while everyone else is having fun, you have work to be done.

To learn, to grow, to create the change, to forge our own opportunities – we’re going to have to do things differently.  You came here to make a difference.  You came here to follow the whisperings of your heart. You’re braver than you know.  And stronger.  So, my friend, today don’t just do what feels good.  Do what you have to do. Have courage.  Believe in yourself, and even if you don’t yet, do it anyway! I promise it will be worth it.
