The Energies of August – 2016

“If people knew how hard I had to work to gain my mastery, it would not seem so wonderful at all.”
~ Michelangelo Buonarroti

Hello, Lovelies :)

Welcome to August. August is a month for knowing ourselves, for bettering ourselves and for furthering ourselves. As we act from a place of self-awareness and personal clarity things will begin to fall into place for us. Sure, the actions we need to take and the decisions we must make may not be easy, but all of them shall be leading us very clearly in the direction of our choosing. No more drifting. It’s time to commit or to walk away. Time to stick with something, or to choose something new. Coasting this month, or waiting to see how things turn out will just lead to further stuckness and confusion.

In everything you do this month, do it for yourself and not to please or placate others!

Cards for the Month:

I’ve chosen two cards for August for you: one from the Osho Zen Tarot Deck, and one from Colette Baron-Reid’s Wisdom of the Oracle. Please note I don’t use these cards in the conventional way, but rather as a stimulus for channelled information.

Here is what I have received from each card:

0shozenMaster

“The warrior has awareness…we are aware that we are at war , and the war in our minds requires discipline. Not the discipline of a soldier but the discipline of a warrior. Not the discipline from the outside to tell us what to do and not to do, but the discipline to be ourselves, no matter what.”
~ Miguel Ruiz

August encourages us to own our Mastery and to work on deepening our knowledge and skills. We are better to specialise and to make one thing our own then to cast our nets widely and be a Jack or Jill Of All Trades.

Everyone has something that comes easily to them, or that they can do well. Often we discount that thing for the very reason that it came easily to us. In August don’t be so quick to talk down or overlook your natural gifts and talents. Is there anything you are ready to teach or share, even if it’s in the most small and humble of ways?

August brings awakening psychic energies, and a need for soul connection. It is also a month of unexpected magic, Universal assistance and breakthroughs.

There’s a flipside though. We are beginning to be aware of those areas of limitation – where we don’t naturally shine. August allows us to finally see that it’s our choice. We can work hard to build up those areas of weakness, or we can delegate them out to someone who does shine in that space, and who can complement and support our own gifts and talents.

Yang

“I can’t do everything, but I can do something.
I dedicate this month to what I can do.” ~ Nicole Cody

The second card I’ve chosen is Yang. This card reminds me a little of the Good Witch Glinda in the Wizard of Oz, telling Dorothy that the power was in her all along.

You have a magic in you. Something that is your own personal superpower. Something you do in a way that makes this thing uniquely your own. But that power is no good unexpressed.

August is giving you every encouragement to get out of your own way and launch your dreams, your business, your art, your images, your thoughts, yourself into the world.

Roll up your sleeves and get to work. If you do, all kinds of good stuff can be unleashed, including support and synchronicities.

Maybe it’s time to set up your own Instagram or Pinterest account. Maybe it’s time to set up your Etsy store or your website. Maybe it’s time to teach or blog or craft or simply to wear your magical red shoes when everyone else’s shoes are sensible black.

Be you. Magnificently and unashamedly you.

Best crystals this month?

Clear Quartz will activate your latent psychic abilities, and tune you in to your own soul wisdom. It enhances purpose and decision making, and is a great stone for all forms of communication.

This is a super stone to hold, to place in your pocket or to wear on the midline of your body as a pendant..

Aragonite Star Clusters are a nurturing stone that call back your scattered energy and help you to remain centred, grounded, clear and balanced, even as you radiate that focused energy outwards.

If you can’t find Aragonite, look for Septarian Nodules which have Aragonite as part of the conglomeration of this mixed stone. That’s an Aragonite Star Cluster in the photo below.

And this is a Septarian Nodule. The Aragonite is the dark brown mineral. Its companions are Golden Calcite and Siltstone.

The Energies of June – 2016

“It really boils down to this: that all life is interrelated. We are all caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tired into a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one destiny, affects all indirectly.”
~ Martin Luther King Jr.

Hello, Lovelies :)

Welcome to June. June is a month for plugging ourselves into the wider world. It’s a perfect time for creating or joining teams, for travel, for organising help, for forming new relationships and strengthening our relationship with ourself.

Cards for the Month:

I’ve chosen two cards for May for you: one from the Osho Zen Tarot Deck, and one from Colette Baron-Reid’s Wisdom of the Oracle. Please note I don’t use these cards in the conventional way, but rather as a stimulus for channelled information.

Here is what I have received from each card:

werworld

“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” ~ Helen Keller

June is all about connection. Connection to friends and family. Connection to social networks, connections in the workplace, and connections to the world-wide-web. No matter who you are, or where you are, look for opportunities to reach out and connect with other people. Have you been thinking of someone lately whom you haven’t seen for a while? Call them up, invite them for coffee, or drop by and say hi.

Travel. Get out and see a little bit more of your corner of the world, or further afield. Let June have a little adventure in it for you!

Everyone needs a team, and June is the perfect energy for expanding yours. Your team is anyone who helps you in some way. Your dentist, the person who makes your coffee in the morning, the place where you buy your groceries – all of these people are as much a part of your team as the people you work with or your family members.

We all need to help each other, and having a team we can rely on is vital to sustainability, wellbeing and managing stress effectively. Teams amplify energy and creativity. They relieve our burdens and help us all to grow.

June reminds us not to overreach. The thing we don’t enjoy doing or aren’t good at is someone else’s favourite thing, just as you can do things easily that other people might find hard. Who needs you on
their team? How could you help them?

June is also about where you can make a difference.
Take time this month for connecting with people who are important to you, and who make you feel good. Build your team. Put your hand up to be part of someone else’s. How can you be the solution to someone else’s problem?

exchanging gifts

“Fair exchange is no robbery.” ~ L.A. Banks

The second card I’ve chosen is Exchanging Gifts. It’s a sensible message of caution that supports the initial card about connection.

This card reminds us that there needs to be fair energetic exchange when we put our talents and gifts out into the world. Don’t work for free unless you need the experience or you are happy to donate your time and efforts.

Don’t give time (or any other gift) to those who won’t value it. Limit your exposure to the users of the world, especially those who are habitual takers in your life.

Be generous with praise where it is deserved, and support where it feels right. Sometimes our payment is in the satisfaction of having lived true to our values – helping another who had nothing to give in return.

This month you can make incredible progress in your life. Don’t let it be derailed by people who are selfish and clueless and who make it all about them. Set clear boundaries and make sure to hang out with people who encourage and uplift you.

Best crystals this month?

Moonstone helps us to tune in to the energies of the people around us. It supports empathy and intuition, and is a gentle and reassuring stone for developing psychic ability.

This is a super stone to wear as a ring, bracelet or pendant.

Carnelian is a joyful stone of creativity and passion that helps keep us motivated,
inspired and energised. Wonderful if you feel depleted or exhausted as it provides a great boost to your physical body.

Try this sublime diffuser blend of 6 drops of Lemongrass, 5 drops of Joy (a Young Living blend) and 1 drop of Vetiver. This fragrance is uplifting, refreshing and the Vetiver gives that touch of grounding. If you don’t have Vetiver use a drop of Cedarwood instead. Instead of Joy you could substitute 2 drops of Geranium, 2 drops of Ylang Ylang and 1 drop of Bergamot. My fairy friend Sokli calls this her Wake Up Happy! blend. You can find the oils here.

The Energies of May – 2016

“Always be a first rate version of yourself and not a second rate version of someone else.”
~ Judy Garland

“If you end up with a boring miserable life because you listened to your mom, your dad, your teacher, your priest, or some guy on television telling you how to do your shit, then you deserve it.”
~ Frank Zappa

Hello, Lovelies :)

Welcome to May! May is a delicious month, and her energies are kind, supportive and expansive. Let me share some observations about the energy of the month ahead, as well as a few suggestions for embracing all that May has to offer.

Here is what I have received from each card:

floweringosho

“We are each gifted in a unique and important way. It is our privilege and our adventure to discover our own special light.”  ~Evelyn Dunbar

May’s energies are encouraging us to share ourselves and our gifts with the world. Even if this is in the smallest of ways, we’re being asked to live more joyously, more authentically.

Most of us have hidden aspects of inner selves for so long that we’ve forgotten those parts of ourselves. Or they are dusty and rusty from lack of use. May celebrates the essence of 2016 and this new vibration that our world has moved into – collaboration, community, cooperation, connection, inclusion.

It’s time, you see, to be who we are.

Image from www.quoteslo.com

Image from www.quoteslo.com

It isn’t just about what you have to share with the world. It’s about simply being more authentically you in the world.

Like toe-socks? Wear them with pride.

Don’t like coffee? Be a proud tea drinker instead.

Whatever your preferences, quirks or points of difference, May is the month to embrace them. And then, if you’re brave, be a little more public and a little more vocal about being yourself and doing your thing – without the need to validate, excuse or apologise.

If you have something to offer out in the wider world, know that there are others who are waiting for the thing you’re holding back. It’s time. Take tiny steps if you must but do put one foot in front of the other as May urges and cheers you on. May is a brilliant month for breaking through and developing some momentum.

Got something to launch? Hello, May! May is your month for unfurling those tightly held buds and beginning to blossom.

The main thing to embrace about May though is simply this: Just be YOU. Out and proud about being yourself. Shining from within, so that your inner light begins to light the way for others to do the same.

“Happiness is not a goal…it’s a by-product of a life well lived.”  ~ Eleanor Roosevelt

The second card I’ve chosen is Milk and Honey. This card reminds you that now is the time for incorporating activities into your life that nurture, sustain and inspire you.

May is a month for celebration of both the special and the ordinary moments in life. For feeding our souls as well as our bodies. For taking time to engage in pleasure and gratitude.

So often we rush through life, busy-busy, and forget to take time to enjoy the place that we live, the people around us, and all of the goodness life has to offer.

May is a faster energy month, after our April of being cocooned and going slow. Pay attention to your diet this month. Eat foods that heal and energise you, but remember to have the occasional treat-day, where you can indulge in the activities and foods that give you pleasure.

All this introspection, soul-searching and hard work is going to pay off, you can be sure of that. In the meantime enjoy the journey, or at least give yourself moments of light and joy amidst the everyday grind.

Best crystals this month?

Green Aventurine is a stone that promotes joy and happiness. It helps our inner child to sparkle and come alive, so that we rediscover our sense of humour and curiosity, our sense of adventure and our appreciation for life.

Smoky Quartz helps us to let go of old patterns and negative thoughts, and to feel safe with change. It is protective, grounding, and very reassuring.

Try this uplifting and energising diffuser blend of 4 drops of Geranium, 2 drops of Lemongrass, 2 drops of Lavender and 2 drops of Rosemary. My fairy friend Sokli calls this her Happy, Brainy, Balanced blend. You can find the oils here.

May shows you the beauty within you, and all around you. Expect to see new possibilities, to have unexpected doors open and opportunities and synchronicities light your way. It’s a time for growing self-confidence and personal clarity, and a time for reconnection to the things which give us joy and satisfaction.

The Energies of April – 2016

“We need solitude, because when we’re alone, we’re free from obligations, we don’t need to put on a show, and we can hear our own thoughts.”
~ Tamim Ansary

Hello, Lovelies :)

Welcome to April! Let me share some observations about the energy of the month ahead, as well as a few suggestions for embracing all that April has to offer.

Cards for the Month:

I’ve chosen two cards for April for you: one from the Osho Zen Tarot Deck, and one from Colette Baron-Reid’s Wisdom of the Oracle. Please note I don’t use these cards in the conventional way, but rather as a stimulus for channelled information.

Here is what I have received from each card:

ordinariness-1

“Extraordinary magic is woven through ordinary life. Look around!”
~ Amy Leigh Mercree

April brings a shift in energies and a change in pace.

This first quarter of 2016 was full steam ahead. That’s okay. We needed a little oomph to start our year. But now April is here, asking you to make yourself a priority.

It’s a month that needs a little solitude, some short breaks in your day or your week to enjoy your own company or simply to catch your breath without pressure or expectation. Don’t be disappointed if things slow down a little. Sometimes we need to slow down first, in order to speed up again later.

Let these breaks be about rest. About reconnection with yourself, your loved ones, your dreams. Spend time in nature, and in places that replenish your soul. Have some early nights, or late starts.

April’s energies are all about going within, listening to your heart and the guidance from the Universe, and actively thinking about how you want your life to be, and who you want to be in this life.

Get centred again. Find the parts of yourself that have been scattered or trampled upon. Get clear about what is important to you, and how this might already be changing as you grow more fully into yourself. Consider your dreams and your well-being and happiness. Rechart your path if you must. But above all, stay true to you.

“Forever is composed of nows.”  ~ Emily Dickinson

The second card I’ve chosen is Here and Now. This card reminds you to live in the moment, even as you plan your future or reflect on your past.

There is great value to be had in spending time on your own, and in being present in each moment.

When you are drinking coffee, savour that coffee.

When you are walking, pay attention to your environment.

When you are talking with a loved one, listen. Be right there with them. Look into their eyes. Hold their hand. BE in the moment.

The moment is a powerful place, and it requires us to be fully present.

I also see this as a warning not to let people or activities waste your precious time, or impose on your life in unhappy or uncomfortable ways. Life is precious, and we must make the most of every day, protecting our dreams and prioritising our values.

Don’t drag the misery of yesterday into today. We can’t change the past. What is done is done. Live for today and plan for tomorrow. Deliberately choose your thoughts, your emotions, your mindset. You are never without power in a situation – because you have power over you and the way you live in each moment.

Best crystals this month?

Rose Quartz is the ultimate stone of nurture and love, and is a terrific choice for replenishing our heart energy.

Lepidolite rebalances our brains bringing calm, self-awareness and self-acceptance. A beautiful crystal if you suffer from anxiety or self-doubt.

Essential oils to support your journey?

Try this soothing diffuser blend of 4 Lavender, 2 drops of Frankincense, 2 drops of Lime and 2 drops of Cedarwood. My fairy friend Sokli calls this her Being in Yourself blend. If you are feeling a little lost or emotionally fragile, swap out the Lime and substitute Ylang Ylang or Neroli instead. You can find the oils here.

Need some extra encouragement, support or inspiration?

The Thirty Second Power Pause – How 30 seconds can be enough to centre yourself and bring your focus back to what matters

April has a magic to it, although you may feel this month glide by more slowly. Don’t become frustrated if it seems that you are making slow progress toward your dreams. All kinds of things happen in our quiet time and our down time. Inspiration comes. Clarity returns. Healing happens. Things slow down, so that they can then speed up again. Enjoy the possibilities!

How to do a Simple 3 Minute Essential Oil Meditation

2015-03-14 09.04.51

“Meditation makes the entire nervous system go into a field of coherence.”Deepak Chopra

I love essential oils. I’ve been using them for nearly thirty years in my spiritual practice, and recently they have been instrumental in my ongoing recovery from Lyme Disease.

Today I’d like to share a very simple meditation with you using essential oils. It only takes three minutes, but that three minutes can have a profoundly peaceful, calming and uplifting influence on your body, mind and spirit. It’s a meditation you can do at any time, anywhere, and if you’re new to essential oils it’s a great introduction.

To do the meditation you need a drop or two of your favourite essential oil.

Let me show you what to do.

1. Firstly, sit with your feet flat on the ground, and your spine straight.

Image from yoffielife.com

Image from yoffielife.com

2. Place a drop or two of your favourite essential oil onto the palm of one hand. Rub your hands together for a few seconds so that the heat of your body begins to activate and diffuse the aroma of the oil.

Image from ajahealth.com

Image from ajahealth.com

3. Bring your cupped hands up to your face, just in front of your nose. Close your eyes, and breathe naturally. With each in-breath you will be drawing that essential oil into your body. With each out-breath you will be pushing the essential oil around your aura or energetic field.

Continue this simple process for a few minutes. Then open your eyes, give yourself a moment to come back to focus, and go about your day.

Here are a couple of my favourite oil suggestions for you:

1. Lavender – a beautiful oil to promote relaxation, peace and a sense of tranquility. Also helpful for restful sleep. This is a super one for kids too.

2. One drop of Peppermint, and one drop of Tangerine or Orange. This blend will wake you up and mentally refresh you, helping to uplift your spirits when you are jaded or exhausted.

3. Geranium – an oil to restore those who over-give and who need nurture and emotional support. Helps shift negative emotions and trauma. Also wonderful to support women with hormonal issues such as PMT or painful periods. (You can also cup this in your hands for your dog, cat or horse to breathe in too if they’ve experienced shock, upset or trauma!)

4. Young Living’s Stress Away blend – when you’re frazzled, have a tension headache, or your brain is on overload, Stress Away helps restore clarity, calm and grounded awareness. A great oil to keep in your handbag or on the desk at work.

PS: If you’d like more information about essential oils you can contact me at cauldronsandcupcakes@gmail.com but be a tiny bit patient, as I am at the Young Living Conference just now. I promise to get back to you just as soon as I can. Much love, Nicole xx
