The Week Ahead – Oracle for Monday 17 April 2017

“Every minute brings a new opportunity. Every minute brings new growth, new experiences.”
~ Mario Cuomo

Hello, Lovelies!

Here’s the oracle card I have chosen this Monday, and my take on the energetic outlook for the week ahead. I use any oracle or tarot cards shown as a prompt for channelled messages and my own intuitive wisdom, so my take is sometimes quite different to the meaning found in a book. ‘Expansion’ is from the Chakra Wisdom Oracle Deck by Tori Hartman.

If you read my forecast for April, you’ll remember that April has strong energy for believing in ourselves and reclaiming our direction.

So, what gifts does Expansion bring for you this week?

Expansion gives us such wonderful perspective this week. Finally we are able to see ourselves honestly and with kindness. We’re able to hear our own inner wisdom, and the wisdom from others that resonates with our own soul knowing and highest good..

This week is about honouring our needs, and making sure that we move in the direction of our own best selves. As we do this we will find that support comes from all kinds of avenues. A fresh breeze travels into our lives, shifting us from stagnation and back to a place of hope and optimism. Our soul is expanding and requiring that we live more truly as ourselves, with no apologies.

For some people this is about healing. If you know you need to seek a second opinion, get a check-up, speak to a therapist or an expert, commit to a way of eating or cleaner living, move your body more or get that problem attended to, this is your week for it. And it’s a glorious week for setting you up to keep on going and to make major lasting changes.

For some people this is about projects dear to your hearts. If you have a calling, a vision, a project, a business, an idea, a book inside of you – anything like this – Expansion calls to you to stop talking and start doing. There is fabulous energy for starting, completing and also for sharing your offerings.

For some of you, it’s about spiritual and psychic connection, mediumship and channelling, and for stepping bravely into a more intuitive, wise and heart-connected space. This also heralds well for spirit-guided relationships. This is a week where all kinds of relationship opportunities can come your way, with a little help from above.

It’s a week of elevated perspectives, possibilities, new ideas, bright beginnings and glimmers of hope that become golden sunbursts. Change is in the air!

Supportive crystals this week?

Snowflake Obsidian will help to remove old negative self-talk and replace it with optimism. Selenite will help you to connect into your guides, angels and psychic ability. Amethyst will truly boost your intuitive abilities and help you on your spiritual path.  Carnelian for physical healing and Lepidolite for emotional healing.

Helpful essential oils?

Young Living’s Awaken essential oil blend, or a combination (or singly!) of any of Geranium, Bergamot, Sandalwood and Lavender. Awaken essential oil blend smells sweet and woody and can be worn as a perfume (Place on wrists, over heart and on back of neck) or used in a diffuser. A few drops in the bath are heavenly too. It’s a great oil to get you out of your head and into your heartspace. It promotes spiritual connection and intuition and is deeply calming. I love this oil, and it’s my oil of choice in my diffuser this week. You can find all the oils here.

Holding you, as always, in my thoughts, prayers and meditations, and intending for a you a life of abundance and joy, where you are no longer limited by your doubts.

All my love,

Nicole ❤ xx

Stop Fighting Your Lack Of Flow

“I have come to accept the feeling of not knowing where I am going. And I have trained myself to love it. Because it is only when we are suspended in mid-air with no landing in sight, that we force our wings to unravel and alas begin our flight. And as we fly, we still may not know where we are going to. But the miracle is in the unfolding of the wings. You may not know where you’re going, but you know that so long as you spread your wings, the winds will carry you.”
~ C. JoyBell C.

Yesterday I blogged about that wonderful experience of universal flow and synchronicity, and about being on fire with an idea that I’m working on.

But perhaps I need to give you more context.

I’d had this idea much earlier in the year, and I worried about doing it because I wasn’t sure where my health would be. I worried about doing it because I didn’t know if I was biting off more than I could chew. I worried about doing it because I’ve never done it before, and just because I thought it was a good idea didn’t mean that it was. At that stage the idea was dancing with me, but it hadn’t grabbed hold of me.

And then, I put the idea down.

Why?

Someone on my team sat in a business meeting, looked me in the eye and said, “I don’t like it. You already have a lot on your plate and it’s not the program we’d agreed to.” They weren’t saying it to be mean. They had my back, and they could also see how much work I was already signed up to. Besides that, we’d spent weeks already discussing and working on something else. The thing I was supposed to be running with in 2016.

Did you catch that last thing I said? It was this…

I put the idea down.

That idea had come out of nowhere, and I already had a good plan. One my team and I had invested plenty of energy in. I decided to work the plan.

You know what happens next. I couldn’t let go of that idea. Finally, and irrationally, I decided that I HAD to run with it. Whether it failed or succeeded. Right as the timing came down to the wire. I ditched my other plan.

And of course, now everything is flowing and fast and fine. 🙂

When people come to me for a Life Direction Reading, I always think of our session together as me opening and then summarising the big book of their life. I look at their talents and gifts, the broad purpose of their life, their major lesson and obstacles, health and then specific information based on their current needs.

People sometimes come back to me for a top up reading. When they do, I am no longer focusing on the whole book of their life, because that big book is divided into many smaller chapters. I look at the chapter that person is in right now, and sometimes the one that will follow.

We do and learn things in each of these life chapters, and each of these chapters will have different themes. Just like in a book, if you’re reading the chapter about the car chase, and all you want is to find out if the hero gets the girl, you’re going to have to wait until the next chapter.

If it’s not happening, it doesn’t mean that it won’t. It usually means that it’s not the right timing. You’re not in the chapter that supports the thing you are trying to push towards. That’s okay. It just means you need to bring your focus to something else just now. It’s not you. The Universe isn’t against you. You’re just not in flow with this thing right now, for whatever reason.

So, with all of that background I’d like to answer two questions that came up from yesterday’s blog post.

When You Get Roadblocks

Q: Genevieve asked:

Lovely post Nicole I do have a question though. What if you keep getting sent roadblocks when trying to achieve something that you long for so deeply? Is this the Universe telling you to quit while your ahead? I think I’ve answered my own question but it puzzles me as to why I would want something that seems totally out of my reach.

A: Genevieve, if you have an idea and you long for it deeply, then don’t give up. I always see those roadblocks as a timing thing. Maybe you’re being held up because you need to rest or to heal first. Maybe there is some other important task that needs to be done. Maybe you’re not ready, and there are things to learn. Maybe the world isn’t ready yet. Don’t ever see it as a bad thing to have some big idea that seems totally out of reach. If it’s truly meant to be yours you won’t let go of that idea. You’ll keep playing with it and coming at it from different angles and thinking about it even when you’re not doing it, and then suddenly everything will line up (although not always in the ways you had expected or imagined) and you’ll be on your way.

Conversely, if it’s not meant to be yours you’ll fall out of love with it. Or there will be something that never sits quite right with you. There is a project I’ve been trying to get off the ground for seven years. Yep. Seven. I’ve laboured towards it. Poured money and time into it. And it just never comes together. On top of that, of it NEVER being easy, something about it has niggled at me. So, when my friend Bek said something to me the other night, I realised that I needed to put that project down, and build another one on top of one that is already alive and dynamic, instead of constantly trying to resurrect dead old bones! Were those seven years wasted? Not at all. It just took me that long to figure out who I really was, and where I wanted to be. 🙂

I’ve Got Nothing! The Plight of Being Directionless

Q: Jen asked:

I can’t work out what the universe is telling me Nicole ….lots of things I love I have had to put on hold ( study, exercise , pretty much life in general). I meditate, I blog, I have floated in the last couple of weeks – all things to help me to see where my path is going. I still have no idea ……

A: Usually, when we can’t get clear about a direction, but we’ve good with direction and decision-making previously, what we need to do is wait. But most of us aren’t good with waiting. We want to be productive and useful and efficient.

Jen, you’ve just been through a major life change. You’re not the person you were before. Things are different now. You are different now. Those old paradigms and ways of being don’t fit, which is why the answers aren’t coming easily.

Don’t force it. Instead, let it be an adventure. Get on with the day-to-day things, and with resting and healing. As your energy lifts, and your soul reorients itself, the way will start to open out in front of you. And I think it will surprise you and make total sense all at once. I know that there is a greater purpose unfolding in front of you. So, it’s a bit like being five months pregnant. No matter how much you want to hold that baby in your arms and know him or her, you have four months left to ‘cook’ before that can happen. Right now you’re in that gestation period too. Trust that it will come to an end, and you’ll find your clarity. To push for it to happen prematurely is no good for you, or for the ‘baby’.

Extra Bit: If you’re a person (this is not Jen!) who has never had clear answers or direction, then you need to work on knowing yourself and spending time with yourself. We are only ever lost when we don’t know who we are, and the only way we can know ourselves is to spend time thinking about what we like and don’t like, by finding supportive friends, family or teachers, and by going on a quest to find ourselves. Go type journal in the search bar of my blog and you’ll find lots and lots of free activities that can help you with this!

A Starting Point For Change

Running Away from Home - Photo by Laura Corebello

Running Away from Home – Photo by Laura Corebello

“She had discovered early that what we want out of life can change; that the important thing is to learn to recognize or even simply just to admit what we really want, and then to have the courage to reach for it.”
~ Candice Proctor, Whispers of Heaven

“The question is: how bad do things have to get before you will do something about it? Where is your line in the sand?”
~ Michael Badnarik

Today, under this Traveller’s Moon, is a good time to get clear on our starting place for change.

Understand this. You don’t need to know yet where you are headed. You just need to know what it is you really need to leave behind.

You need to get clear about what you DON’T WANT.

This isn’t a list of dislikes. It’s not an agenda of complaints.

Today I want you to spend some time and be totally honest with yourself. Based on all of your life experiences so far, and on a foundation of your values and integrity, what is it that you just can’t do, won’t do, don’t ever want?

Your starting place for change is to simply recognise the energies and styles of relationships that you are no longer prepared to accept in your life.

Think of it as drawing a line in the sand so that the Universe knows where you are at, and so that you can use this as a measuring stick for future situations, choices and relationships.

Image from Papa's Job

Image from Papa’s Job

It might not be a very long list. That’s okay. What’s most important is that you feel it in your heart and know it to be true for you.

Here are some examples:

I will never accept a cheating partner again.

I can’t work in a place where I am bullied.

Working twelve hour days for someone else – that’s over!

Never spending time in nature? I can’t do that anymore.

Once you have that list, turn your back and put those things behind you.

With what you don’t want behind you, you’ll have a starting place and a clear direction forward, even if you don’t know exactly where you’re headed next.

Knowing what we don’t want is ALWAYS the starting point of working out what we DO want.

Bless ♥ Nicole xx

Making My Life Work for Me – Week 6

“Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.” ~ Harriet Tubman

Welcome to the final week of our six week Making My Life Work for Me Program. (If you’ve only just joined us, you might like to pop back and read the very first post so you can gather the materials we’ll be using today and catch up on all our prior activities.)

Our focus this week is on putting it all together – now that we’ve been journalling and collaging and visualising, it’s time to get a plan! Change and progress come from action.

Instructions:

We have followed the same format each week.  Read through this entire post before you get started. You can do the activities all on one day, or spread them put over the week – whatever works best for you.

Meditation:

This week’s meditation exercise is a simple walking meditation.

To start hold your crystal or place it in your pocket, draping your scarf or shawl around you. Then step outside and go for a walk.  It doesn’t matter where you walk, although walks in nature are wonderful.  What is important is the sense of movement, and being able to empty your mind and simply enjoy observing your surroundings.

Remember this technique:

Breathe, and look around me. Breathe and put one foot in front of the other. Breathe and be aware of my body and my surroundings. Breathing and walking and being aware.

Set aside ten minutes for this, although you can take longer if you have the time or are enjoying yourself.

If it is not possible for you to walk, then close your eyes and take a walk in your imagination.  It will have the same effect.

AnExtrarodinaryDay.net-Birches-in-the-woods-John-Muir-quote-about-Nature

Visualisation:

Do this straight after your meditation, when you are ready and open for receiving! Close your eyes and use your imagination. See yourself the way you want yourself to be in the world.  See yourself in a space of calm, filled with certainty and enthusiasm.  See yourself as healthy.  See yourself as happy. See yourself having the life you desire, in as much detail as possible.  Really put some energy into this.  You can repeat this step again this week (even daily) if it feels right.  Thoughts are things, and this is how you manifest in the Universe!

creating myself

Using Your Journal:

Go back to the front of your journal and read your Pledge out loud one more time.

Then turn to the next blank pages, and write the following Positioning Statement, and sign it. When it’s written, repeat it out loud, with as much sincerity as you can muster. That way the Universe is put on notice of your intentions:

Dear Universe,

I am grateful for the clarity, direction and inspiration I have received so far.

I am ready to begin creating a life for myself that is satisfying and richly meaningful a life that reflects my values, and that best uses my talents and gifts.

I am ready to embrace positive change and to accept an avalanche of good in my life.

My commitment to you is that I will create a plan, and take consistent small steps in the direction of my dreams.

I am open to Divine Inspiration, Higher Guidance, Magic and Miracles.  I am open to Breakthroughs, New Opportunities and Helpful People.

I am excited about co-creating a brighter future for myself and the ones I love.

With love and gratitude,

Card of the Week:

2013-03-24 16.30.18Let’s start our week by selecting some reflective spiritual Guidance.  Take your deck of positive cards, or your rune bag.  Close you eyes and offer up a prayer for the Highest Good, and then quiet your mind.

Randomly select a card/rune, trusting that it will have a message to guide you this week.  Write down the name of the card/rune and the message.  Feel free to add any additional thoughts or insights you might have.

The final card I’ve chosen for us is all about the magic of thinking big – it encourages us to dream, and reminds us that there are powerful forces in the world which come together to support us as we move in the direction of our dreams.

2013-04-28 17.58.09

2013-04-28 17.58.27

This week, give yourself permission to dream of that brighter future.  Actively look for ways to bring more of the energies of positive change into your life.

Week 6 Journal Activity:

This week use your stream of consciousness around the question Where to from here? Stay open to whatever you write down, and don’t censor or judge anything as it pours out onto the page. Draw pictures or mind map if you feel like it.

And this week’s creative activity is:

Collage – The Best of Everything  This collage will help you to clarify the essence of what your heart desires.

Take your pile of old magazines and place them in front of you.  Holding your crystal close your eyes and say out loud “Universe, I am open to all Guidance and my own Higher Wisdom.  I know that I am worthy and deserving.  From this place of self love and self worth, show me what I most value and enjoy.”  Take a moment and sit in that energy, really feeling yourself connecting into and opening to all that your soul desires.

When you’re ready, open your eyes and start flicking through the magazines.  If any pictures or words appeal to you, cut or rip them out and place them beside you. When you have enough images cut them up neatly.

Place the images in your journal, laying them out so that you feel good when you look at them. Allow yourself to be excited!

If your journal isn’t big enough, feel free to use a sheet of cardboard. Glue your images to the page and leave it open to dry.

Pulling It All Together:

In the coming days and weeks, go back over your journal.  Take a highlighter, and look for all of the positive, inspiring and directional words and phrases you have included on these pages.

Look for repetitions of images, words and themes.

Look for words and images that strike a powerful emotional chord within you.

Look for the messages from your Soul to your Conscious Mind.

Write down a list of those themes and messages.

Now pick just three.

Choose one, and find a way to begin to bring that energy into your life.

When it has begun to appear, then begin on the second.  When that energy has also appeared in your life, begin on the third.

If it moves you, go back and do this process again.

Change comes from small consistent steps in the direction of our dreams. And small steps often travel us great distances…

Gratitude:

What’s already working in your life?  List five things in your journal each day that you are grateful for in your life.

Nightly Healing :

Get into bed and spend five minutes lying quietly in meditation with your eyes closed.  Call on God, Universal Energy, your Angels, your Guides, your Ancestors, whomever you feel comfortable and safe with.  Ask for their help.  Fill your body with white light, and then draw coloured light (just allow a colour to come to you) through your crown chakra (an energy point on the top of your head) and send it anywhere in your body that needs healing.  Feel the warmth as the energy radiates through your body, uplifting and healing you.  Know that answers will come while you are sleeping.

Give thanks, send this same healing gift from you to anyone or anywhere else if it feels right, and then sleep.  Expect dreams that clarify, empower and enlighten.

2013-04-12 16.46.07

Thank you so much for taking part in this project. I trust that you can find ways to keep moving yourself in the right direction, so that your life works better and feels better for you!

Much love to you, Nicole ♥ xx

“Never tell a young person that anything cannot be done. God may have been waiting centuries for someone ignorant enough of the impossible to do that very thing.” ~ G. M. Trevelyan

“Maybe we should develop a Crayola bomb as our next secret weapon.  A happiness weapon.  A beauty bomb.  And every time a crisis developed, we would launch one.  It would explode high in the air – explode softly – and send thousands, millions, of little parachutes into the air.  Floating down to earth – boxes of Crayolas.  And we wouldn’t go cheap, either – not little boxes of eight.  Boxes of sixty-four, with the sharpener built right in.  With silver and gold and copper, magenta and peach and lime, amber and umber and all the rest.  And people would smile and get a little funny look on their faces and cover the world with imagination.”  ~ Robert Fulghum

Welcome to Week 2 of our six week Making My Life Work for Me Program. (If you’re just joining us now, pop back and read the very first post so that you can gather the materials we’ll be using today.) This week our focus is on being open to new ideas, new solutions and things that have been lurking in our subconscious that we have been too stressed, tired, wired or defeated to pay any real attention to.  There’s good stuff in that head of yours.  There’s treasure for sure!

treasures

Instructions:

We will be following the same format each week.  Read through this entire post before you get started. You can do the activities all on one day, or spread them put over the week – whatever works best for you.

Meditation:

We’re going to start with a meditation. But today it’s an active meditation. Find a song or piece of music you love and queue it ready to play.  Hold your crystal and drape your scarf or shawl around your shoulders.  Start your song and then close your eyes.  Lose yourself to the music.  Let the music get right inside you. When the song finishes sit for a minute, absorbing the energy, and be open to what comes next. The music will deliver a message to you.  Be open to it, and write it down in your journal. It could be lyrics, an image, an idea.  Trust whatever comes to you. This week, in quiet moments, expand on what this message means to you, and how you can begin to incorporate this energy in your life.

Visualisation:

Do this straight after your meditation, when you are ready and open for receiving! Close your eyes and use your imagination. See yourself the way you want yourself to be in the world.  Feel the emotions that come with this, and have gratitude and expectation of drawing these things into your life.  Really put some energy into this.  You can repeat this step again this week (even daily) if it feels right.  Thoughts are things, and this is how you manifest in the Universe!

Using Your Journal:

Go back and re-read your Pledge.  Think about your commitment to making this new life for yourself: one that fits you much better, one that gives you far better satisfaction and scope for joy. Hold this energy of possibility in your heart as you work with your journal this week.

Feel free to use your paints, coloured pens, glitter and stickers to make your journal visually attractive.  Get involved in the creation process and let your Inner Child rock your world, in the very best of ways!

Card of the Week:

2013-03-24 16.30.18Let’s get the ball rolling by selecting this week’s Guidance.

The card I’ve chosen this week is well aligned with our theme.

2013-03-31 18.21.07
Trust that there is a wise and creative part of you that wants to help you redesign your life.  All the answers are within you – now we simply need to learn how to tune in and find them!

Week 2 Journal Activity:

On a clean page write a stream of consciousness around the question What can I do?  This is a big question, once you get started, so don’t limit yourself.  You may even want to come back to it over several days. Write as little or as much as you need to. Simply ask yourself the question and then answer it, letting the words pour out of you. If you feel blocked get up and go for a walk.  Play your song again, and then write! Draw pictures or mind map if you feel like it. If you cry or have some other emotional release understand that this is a good thing.

And now for some fun…

Collage – Things that inspire me.  Take your pile of old magazines and place them in front of you.  Holding your crystal close your eyes and say out loud “Universe, I am open to all Guidance and my own Higher Wisdom to show me the things inspire me, and show me beneficial direction in my life.”  Take a moment and sit in that energy, really feeling yourself connecting into and opening to that wisdom.

Then when you’re ready, open your eyes and start flicking through the magazines.  If any pictures or words appeal to you, cut or rip them out and place them beside you. When you have enough images cut them up neatly, and then spend some time arranging them on a page or double page of your journal.  If your journal isn’t big enough, feel free to use a sheet of cardboard. Glue your images to the page and leave it open to dry.  Now you have a strong visual reminder of your inspirations, how can you incorporate more of these energies in your daily life?

Were there any surprises?  Did you notice any particular themes?

Expect dreams that inspire, heal and inform. Wishing you a wonderful week.

Much love to you, Nicole ♥ xx
