“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.”
~ Nikola Tesla

Life can be exhausting. Situations, people and places might drain us. The electrical and electro-magnetic energy of our cities and devices can play havoc with our own auric fields. Or perhaps we over-extend ourselves, running on too little sleep and not enough sunshine, fresh air and good food.

No matter the reason, there is a simple meditation technique we can use to re-energise ourselves until such time as we can properly recharge our bodies and minds with deep rest and self care.

It takes only a few minutes, and the more you practice this, the more powerful and profound the recharging will become.

The practice involves creating a little closed-energy circuit in your body.

Sit or lie quietly and cross your feet at the ankles.

Then press the palms of your hands together ( as in prayer) or clasp them.

Lastly, place the tip of your tongue on the roof of your palate, behind your top teeth.

This closes off the energetic meridians of your body, allowing energy to circulate and build within you.

Now take a few deep breaths. Feel the energy enter your body. Draw sunlight or white light deep into your being. Strengthen and deepen this energy with every breath.

Exhale worry, negativity or other stagnant energies. With each new breath fill yourself up with light a little more. Build the energy until you feel ‘full’.

It is not necessary to close your eyes, but do so if it helps your concentration.

Feel the energy build and circulate within your body. There is nowhere else for it to go but round and round inside you. Visualise a shield of white or golden light surround your body. Let yourself be energised and strengthened by this light.

When you feel calm, centred and energised break the circuit by removing your tongue from behind your teeth, unclasping your hands, or uncrossing your ankles.

I love that this meditation can be performed discretely while on the bus, at work or in any public place.
