Intuitive Oracle Card Reading Challenge – Day 8

“Sometimes you don’t know when you’re taking the first step through a door until you’re already inside.” ~ Ann Voskamp

Today’s the last day of our online Oracle Card Challenge. Thanks so much for having been a part of it!

For our final question, we’re throwing things open to the Universe and our own Inner Wisdom. Expect ah-ha moments, validation, breakthroughs and Divine Inspiration.

Remember that using cards is a way to access your intuition and inner knowing. If a card comes up that looks negative or upsetting, consider that this may be a situation which can now be healed, a pattern to be broken, or an issue that is coming to an end. Universal Guidance and our own intuition always and only speak from love. Trust that all messages will have a positive and useful insight to help you learn, heal or transcend.

Let’s get started!

Mini Meditation with your Crystal

Take your crystal, and complete this short guided meditation:

Hold your stone in your cupped hands, close your eyes, and slow your breathing. Bring white light into your body until you feel peaceful and calm. Then bring white light into the crystal too. Allow yourself to connect to the stone. You may feel it tingle, or you may experience colour, images or guiding thoughts. When you are ready, open your eyes.

Keep your stone near you, and hold it when you write. If any insights have already emerged take a moment to write them down!

Card of the Day – What’s the first and most important step I need to take to change my life?

This is an important question, although the answer may be simple. Honour this by taking a moment to centre yourself, to calm yourself, to become fully present. Then tune in to your heart.

Shuffle your cards, while silently asking the question to yourself  What’s the first and most important step I need to take to change my life?

When you have shuffled the cards and they feel ‘done’, select just one card. Place the card face up in front of you. Clear your mind by closing your eyes and taking one deep breath in and then out. Open your eyes again. Take a minute and look at the picture on the oracle or tarot card. What stands out for you? Is it an image or a colour? Is it a number or a word? What are your first impressions? Write these down in your journal.

Now let’s go a little deeper. What feelings or words does this card evoke in your mind when you think about the card and its images in relation to the question What’s the first and most important step I need to take to change my life? Take two minutes and just write some stream-of-consciousness thoughts down. Don’t censor or judge them. Trust the process. Finally, read back over what you have written.

Expect that more insights may come up for you during the day. Write anything important down in your journal so that you can continue to reflect upon it.

Question of The Day Three Card Spread (optional activity, if you have the time and inclination)

Trust that you’ve been shown something that is truly useful to you.

Return your Daily Card to the pack and shuffle the cards, asking the question ‘How can I best use this Insight?’  Choose three cards and lay them face down in front of you.

The card on the left is The Opportunity. The card in the middle is your Helpful Action. The card on the right is The Outcome.

1. Turn the first card over and let it give you insights into the opportunity and direction today’s information could create for you.

2. Turn the second card over. This card shows you the way forward. Let it show you what you can do, what choices you can make, actions you can take, to get you moving forward in a positive and aligned way to create momentum, progress or change.

3. Turn the third card over. This card will help you gain insights into how acting on this opportunity can potentially transform your life

Write notes in your journal if this is helpful.

Self-Care Action

Based on the insights you’ve received from today’s cards, what small action can you take today to look after yourself well and to show yourself nurture and kindness? Write that down in your journal and make sure to action it!

Where to from here?

Spend some time between now and the end of the year in reflection on the answers you have journaled. Build on the knowledge that you’ve accessed. Let it shape and inform your future decisions and life direction.

Guided Meditation for Anchoring into Oneness Energy

Image from COT Victoria

“You are not separate from the whole. You are one with the sun, the earth, the air. You don’t have a life. You are life.” ~ Eckhart Tolle

Today’s guided meditation is designed to help you understand and connect to oneness energy, that beautiful space of unity consciousness where we realise that we truly are connected to all things.

Let’s just recap on what you’ll need for this guided meditation.

1) The memory of someone you love who is no longer in this world. Choose only one person, and make sure that you feel a strong emotional connection to them.

2) Someone still living, whom you are ready to forgive.

3) A stone or a crystal that feels good in your hands and that has been placed outside on the earth, in the soil of a houseplant, or on a windowsill where it has received natural daylight or moonlight for at least six hours or overnight. .

4) A colour that resonates strongly for you, and that you can use as a visual clue by wearing it something with that colour so you can see it, or even  a piece of string or ribbon tied around your wrist or a flower in a vase in front of you.

You’ll need to set aside half an hour for this meditation. Sit or lie somewhere quietly, using pillows or blankets if needed to make yourself comfortable. Then simply close your eyes and follow the sound of my voice. It’s fine to let yourself fall asleep during the meditation, or immediately afterwards.

To listen to the meditation, click on the button below:

This meditation is really useful to get you into a good headspace for working with intention, and for working with forgiveness and love. It is soothing, energising and helps open us up to our authentic selves.

“I do believe we’re all connected. I do believe in positive energy. I do believe in the power of prayer. I do believe in putting good out into the world. And I believe in taking care of each other.”Harvey Fierstein

Yesterday I went to a favourite cafe in New Farm. It’s the first time I’ve driven myself to a cafe in over a year, and I was really looking forward to the opportunity to sit on my own in a quiet corner, writing and enjoying a good coffee.

I arrived very early, just after six, put in my order and got to work. While I wrote, completely absorbed in my story, the place filled up. It was a typical wintery raining morning in Brisbane, and there were couples, family groups and lycra-clad cyclists at all the outdoor tables.

After a while I had a strange feeling, and realised that a man a few tables over, sitting with a small group of his friends, kept staring at me. If I looked up he looked away, but as soon as I returned to my laptop he was staring again. It made me feel quite uncomfortable.

Eventually I caught his eye, and we just held each other’s gaze for a minute or so. I had a sensation of the most intense recognition, Now I was sure that I knew him, but I couldn’t place him at all. I smiled, mentally wished him well and sent him some love and went back to my writing.

As I was getting into my car an hour later, a young woman came over to me.

“Excuse me,” she said. “Can I talk to you for a moment?” She was nervously screwing the edge of her jacket between her hands.

“Sure,” I said, throwing my bag into the car.

“My boyfriend thinks he knows you,” she said, her words tumbling out in a hurry.

“The one from the coffee shop?” I asked. She had been sitting with her back to me, so I’d never seen her face.

“Yes, the coffee shop and from the Highway…” She said it like a challenge.

And then I knew. Slowly I sank down onto the driver’s seat of my car. “The man on the motorcycle,” I whispered.

Brisbane is a small place. If you lived here you’d know that we’re always joking about how the rest of the world may enjoy seven degrees of separation or connection, but in Brisbane it’s only two.

Last year, very very early, Ben and I were heading back to our farm at Possum Creek, about two hours drive from Brisbane. It was about 4am, rainy, and I was incredibly ill from my Lyme drugs. That’s why we had decided to drive home at such an hour. After some sleep, and before my next round of meds I was hoping that it would be a vomit-free trip.

We’d only just entered the Highway when a motorbike screamed past us on the empty road, going so fast it made it look like we were standing still. I was overcome with the blackest of dreads.

“Slow down! Slow down!” I screamed. I wasn’t sure who I was even talking to, my husband or the bike.

My husband slowed the car, and put his hand on my leg. “Are you okay? Are you going to be sick?” he asked, his voice filled with concern.

I couldn’t even speak, I was so upset, but I shook my head to indicate that I was okay. We drove on for less than ten minutes and then the traffic came to a stop. There had been an accident. It was the bike, as I’d known it would be. Debris was strewn across the road. A solitary motorbike helmet sat in the middle of a lane like someone had casually placed it there. The traffic banked up behind us.

An ambulance was already there. More arrived. Police cars came. I was trembling with shock. To calm myself I closed my eyes and went into meditation.

And there I saw it all, as though I was looking down on the accident from above.

“That’s my friend,” said a man beside me. He was wearing a motorbike jacket. “Can you help him?”

His friend was on the ground, badly injured. Ambulance crews were bent over him, trying to get him stable, trying to stop the bleeding. His leg was hanging by sinew and denim. He was distressed and awake.

I poured my love into the man on the ground. I called on God. I asked all of the Angels, Guides and Ancestors to help him and to hold him safe. I prayed for the paramedics, who were fighting so hard for this man. I asked for the best outcome for all.

Eventually the ambulances left, and the police and fire crews cleared a lane so that the traffic could creep past. The sun hadn’t even come up yet.

The twisted remains of the bike had been pushed against a concrete wall. The car involved had already been towed away.

I cried.

When we got home to the farm I couldn’t stop thinking about the accident. I searched the online news and police reports, but found only the briefest mentions. In the end I lit a candle for all involved, and included them in my daily prayers and meditations.

“My boyfriend is sure that you’re an Angel,” the young woman said, bringing me out of the past and back to the carpark. “He says you came to him in the accident, and you were wearing pyjamas.”

I had been wearing pyjamas that morning. Pink pirate pyjamas and fluffy purple socks.

“It’s because of you that he believes in God now,” she said. “He comes to church with his mother and me.”

“I’m no Angel,” I said, trying to smile, deeply embarrassed at what she’d said. “What Angel would wear pyjamas? I’m just a person. I am a meditator, and when the accident happened I was in a car nearby, and so I prayed for him, and sent him love and light in my meditation. That’s all.”

“It’s been a terrible time,” said the girlfriend. “He lost his leg you know, but the worst thing is the guilt. He’s been so depressed about his friend.”

Now I understood. The man in the jacket who asked me to help his friend that day had been riding pillion. He’d been in the accident too. “I’m so sorry, for you and all your family,” I said.

The girl nodded, tears rolling down her face.

“Hey,” a voice behind her said. It was the man who’d been staring at me. It was the man from the crash.

I extended my hand and shook his, and we introduced ourselves. And then I stood up and gave him a hug. He was thin and frail under my arms. I could feel how tenuous his will to live still was.

“This is your second chance,” I whispered in his ear. “Make it count. Make it count for you, and for your friend. You’re still here for a reason.”

He cried. I cried. We hugged again. And then we said goodbye and I came home to my little house in Brisbane, pulled myself together and began a day of psychic readings for clients.

Truly, there is no such thing as an Angel in Pink Pyjamas, but I do believe that we are all connected, and that with our thoughts, intentions , love and prayers we can make a difference.

In our hearts we are all one. Let’s help each other wherever we can.

Why it’s important to be a Lightworker

“Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared.” ~ Buddha

A Lightworker, most simply stated, is someone who intentionally brings Light and positive energy into the world. You don’t need to feel aligned with the metaphysical and psychic realms to be a Lightworker. If you are practicing kindness and sharing love in the world you are, by definition, a Lightworker.

When we first start living with awareness, practicing kindness and gratitude or sharing our gifts with the world we usually crave some kind of feedback.

We want to know: Did I make a difference? Did the work make a difference? Did the healing or the teaching make a difference?

When we put positive energy out into the world it is always hard to gauge the efficacy of that energy.   One thing I have come to understand is that we don’t need to know. We just need to trust.

Putting positive energy and intent into the world is like casting a stone into a pond. That act of Light and Love will ripple out and away from us, touching the lives of others in ways that we may never be aware. It may also create secondary ripples that arise from our own, giving that first action or idea new life, continuing and enriching our original effect.

On my Spiritual Retreat last year I shared a simple meditation technique called ‘Eating the Sun’. It’s a technique I was taught many, many years ago when I was just starting out on my spiritual journey (but that’s a whole other story). Recently, one of the women from our retreat, a psychologist, shared this with our group:

Hi. I wanted to share a success story with you guys where I can talk about it openly! I saw a lady last week in crisis, suicidal with ongoing stressors in her life. I gave her a few strategies (service approved) some not so much. I particularly suggested going out into the sunlight to imagine herself eating or breathing in the sun light while breathing out or diffusing darkness into the earth. This wk she has no suicidal thoughts, massive improvement in mood and is sharing with me how helpful breathing in sun and diffusing darkness was. Yay… Thanks Nicole! Love when we can share some light with the world.

That’s the beautiful thing about Lightwork. I love when we share that spark of light with others, who in turn share it with others, who in turn… you know how it goes!

We never know what dark places that little shared spark of light might illuminate. The woman who originally showed me this technique has since passed on, but her ripples are still being felt across the world, and are begetting new energies, ensuring that her intent to spread love, light and positive emotion continues to endure and grow.

What positive energies can you put out into the world today?

It’s never your job to judge how effective they might be, or whom they might influence. Truth is, you’ll never know. The only important thing is that you shine your Light.

Much, much love and some really big hugs, Nicole xx

PS – Tomorrow I’ll show you how to ‘Eat the Sun’!

Simple Technique to Boost Energy

“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.”
~ Nikola Tesla

Life can be exhausting. Situations, people and places might drain us. The electrical and electro-magnetic energy of our cities and devices can play havoc with our own auric fields. Or perhaps we over-extend ourselves, running on too little sleep and not enough sunshine, fresh air and good food.

No matter the reason, there is a simple meditation technique we can use to re-energise ourselves until such time as we can properly recharge our bodies and minds with deep rest and self care.

It takes only a few minutes, and the more you practice this, the more powerful and profound the recharging will become.

The practice involves creating a little closed-energy circuit in your body.

Sit or lie quietly and cross your feet at the ankles.

Then press the palms of your hands together ( as in prayer) or clasp them.

Lastly, place the tip of your tongue on the roof of your palate, behind your top teeth.

This closes off the energetic meridians of your body, allowing energy to circulate and build within you.

Now take a few deep breaths. Feel the energy enter your body. Draw sunlight or white light deep into your being. Strengthen and deepen this energy with every breath.

Exhale worry, negativity or other stagnant energies. With each new breath fill yourself up with light a little more. Build the energy until you feel ‘full’.

It is not necessary to close your eyes, but do so if it helps your concentration.

Feel the energy build and circulate within your body. There is nowhere else for it to go but round and round inside you. Visualise a shield of white or golden light surround your body. Let yourself be energised and strengthened by this light.

When you feel calm, centred and energised break the circuit by removing your tongue from behind your teeth, unclasping your hands, or uncrossing your ankles.

I love that this meditation can be performed discretely while on the bus, at work or in any public place.
