My New Online Course AND Half-Year Membership Course Intake

“If the point of life is the same as the point of a story, the point of life is character transformation. If I got any comfort as I set out on my first story, it was that in nearly every story, the protagonist is transformed. He’s a jerk at the beginning and nice at the end, or a coward at the beginning and brave at the end. If the character doesn’t change, the story hasn’t happened yet. And if story is derived from real life, if story is just condensed version of life then life itself may be designed to change us so that we evolve from one kind of person to another. ”
Donald Miller

There’s something I care about very much. And that’s you.

I care about your journey. I care about your spiritual and intuitive awakening. I want to empower you to know yourself, to trust yourself, and to have a bag full of tools to support you as you travel this sometimes hard and unpredictable road that we call life.

I know what it is to be sensitive, empathic, intuitive, psychic, other. I know how hard it can be to navigate life’s journey when the road is hard and I am weary or stuck or broken down under the weight of hardship. I also know what it is to feel a calling, to have a dream, or at least a yearning to change, but to be stuck in that place of being unable to make a decision or to know where to start.

So, I have two exciting pieces of news for you.

One: Due to overwhelming request I have opened my private YOM Membership Group and Online Course for a midyear intake.

Two: I’ve created a new online course – the Journey of Transformation Intuitive Card Spread Course – which my YOM Students are already raving about (they have access already because they are paid members of our Membership group and community – see point one, above).

(In a hurry to grab it? – go here to access the store)

Let me tell you about the Mid-Year Intake to YOM first.

We’ve decided to create a mid-year intake for our Planner and Membership Community. We’re doing this because we’ve had so many requests to join and next year we launch our Learning Academy so we wanted to reward our loyal readers, clients and students with access to this year’s Foundation pricing and all of the benefits that will go along with that.

I know, you might think this is all about a Planner, but it isn’t really. It’s so much more! It’s about giving you skills, confidence, community and access to ongoing learning. I am passionate about empowering people to know themselves, to use their intuition and to create more meaningful and satisfying lives for themselves by living from a heart-centred and self-aware space. Being a member of my community will help you do this.

What you get with this 1/2 Year Membership Package:

  • Hard Copy YOM Planner, posted to your door (or pick one up from us if you’re in Brisbane, Australia) plus a little surprise, because who doesn’t love surprises!
  • digital version of the YOM Planner for direct download
  • Access to the YOM Foundations online course, which gives you all the basics you need for working with the Planner and for beginning the journey of intuitive awareness – this is material you can work through at your own pace, dipping in and out as necessary

It’s the ultimate support group for empaths, intuitives, psychics and sensitive souls.

Now let me tell you about this new online course – The Journey of Transformation.

(In a hurry to grab it – go here to access the store)

Many, many years ago I channelled a beautiful and very helpful card spread with my Guide, Rollo. He assured me that this card spread would help me to find my own answers. I didn’t believe him. I wanted him to tell me. Or an Angel. Or an Oracle. Anyone wise. Anyone. But not me – I mean how could I rely on myself when I was the one who was lost?

Ah, said Rollo. Your Wise Self knows. You just don’t remember how to live from that space anymore.

He was right. And he was also right about this card spread. It works. It has guided me well, so many times, through so many layers of transformation.

So when I was thinking about how I could support you I realised that I could teach you this same spread, and show you step by step how to use it to bring insight and create transformation in your own life.

It works. And the course I’ve created is pretty darn awesome too.

The Journey of Transformation Intuitive Card Spread Course features:

  • Two downloadable guided meditations
  • Over two hours of instructional videos
  • A downloadable Workbook to support your journey.

You don’t need to have any prior experience with using Tarot or Oracle Cards – I’ll show you everything you’ll need to know and walk you through the process using a card reading I do for myself as an example for you.

It’s a technique you can come back to again and again, and it’s also something you can use when coaching or guiding others.

I’m already getting great feedback about my course from my YOM members (it’s one of the many free bonuses that our membership group enjoy!) and I know you’re going to love it too.

It’s taught completely online, at your own pace, and once you purchase the course you’ll have lifetime access to it. I’ve also made it stupidly cheap because I want you all to buy it, use it, enjoy it and grow from it.

Whether you are a complete beginner and have never done anything like this before or an old hand at giving yourself an intuitive reading you’ll find value in this course.

Reduce Pain Naturally and Accelerate Healing With This Free Guided Meditation

“Some people see scars, and it is wounding they remember. To me they are proof of the fact that there is healing.”
~ Linda Hogan

Why meditate?

There are proven links between our thoughts, and our body’s ability to control pain and heal. In meditation we actively control our thoughts and mental space.

Having lived with and through chronic pain, illness, surgery and even prognoses of impending death, I have become a great advocate of meditation and guided visualisations to manage my own health and pain levels, mostly without having to resort to drugs.

Meditation has been proven to alter our brain waves, bringing us into an energetic state that we usually find only during sleep or deep relaxation. This allows our body to heal. It also gives us something that we can actively do to help ourselves at a time where we may otherwise feel quite powerless.

Dedication and Well Wishes:

I’ve recorded a simple meditation today to take you on a short guided journey of healing using light. I’m dedicating this meditation to Eman, a friend who underwent major surgery yesterday for skin grafts to treat third degree burns. Ian, I’m sending so much love and healing energy your way! <3

Use this healing white and green light meditation any time that you experience pain, fear, illness, anxiety, discomfort or injury. It is a simple way to help promote healing and to reduce pain and inflammation.

This meditation is also useful for you if you are exhausted or very stressed.

I wish for each of you a return to health, a way forward, an easing of your condition, and tangible improvements in every area of your wellbeing.

Instructions:

All you need to do to work with this meditation is to set aside fifteen minutes and then sit or lie quietly, somewhere where you won’t be disturbed.

Be comfortable. Use a blanket and a pillow if necessary. It’s fine to fall asleep during this meditation. It will still work!

I also encourage you to hold a favourite crystal as you listen, or perhaps even choose one specifically to become your healing meditation crystal. I’ve found that if you purpose a crystal like this, and always hold it during your healing meditations, that it will bring you comfort and relief t hold it even when you are not meditating. The brain comes to associate the stone with that same emotional and energetic state that you will reach during meditation, and it will automatically begin to adjust itself back to that space.

Click Play to hear this meditation

After your meditation is complete, allow yourself the gift of time to integrate. Continue to sit or lie quietly, and then finish by sleeping, or having a glass of water or a cup of tea and some quiet time.

Sending so much love your way!

Nicole xoxo

“Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack in everything

~ Leonard Cohen

With all that is going on in our world right now it is easy to feel small and insignificant – unable to help when all we feel in our hearts is an urge to try. When those we know are suffering, when the planet is in crisis, or when there is a human catastrophe in another part of the world we might wonder what can be done.

There is something we can do. Meditate!

Tonglen Meditation is something that anyone can do, with no experience. Tonglen is Tibetan for ‘giving and receiving’ and it is a beautiful and simple practice.  What matters with this meditation is only your intent.

How to Do the Meditation

  1. Sit or lie quietly, and close your eyes. I like to sit with my spine straight, and my hands together in my lap, thumb tips pressed lightly together like this. meditation-mudra If I’m lying in bed, I lie on my back with my hands crossed together over my heart, like this. hands-over-heartTry to sit if you can, but for those of you unwell or unable to do so, a prone (lying down) meditation practice will still work.
  2. Start by imagining someone who you want to help. It might be a friend with depression, or a place in the world where there is pain.  You breathe in the heaviness of that energy and suffering and breathe out love and peace, or whatever other positive and compassionate energy you intuitively feel would bring comfort. respirarespira
  3. All you ever have to do is ‘breathe in’ the condition, emotion or suffering of another, making room for healing and comfort within them.  Then ‘breathe out’  love and light to fill the space you have created.
  4. Finish the meditation when you feel a shift, or when a sense of pervading calm and peace envelopes you.

The suffering of others is also our own suffering, so this meditation can help us as we endeavour to help others.  If you are in pain, breathe in your own pain and also the pain of everyone who is suffering from your affliction.  Breathe out relief to everyone, in whatever form feels most right to you.

Do not worry that the things you breathe in will become a part of you, further weighing you down. As you breathe in suffering it is transmuted back into light, and it dissipates harmlessly.

Sometimes you may not even have a word for what you are breathing it – it will simply be a feeling, a weightiness, a blackness or even a void.  Breathe out hope, lightness, joy and well-being.  Breathe out ease.

At times when we don’t know what else to do, this is something that can help. As you bring peace to others, you bring it also to yourself.  It is a very soothing and calming practice.  You don’t need to belong to any particular religion, or follow any particular spiritual philosophy.  This simple practice merely acknowledges that we are all human, all connected, and all the same – no matter who we are, or where we come from.

6 Simple Meditation Techniques for Beginners

Green Turtle by © Marty Wolff

Green Turtle by © Marty Wolff

“There’s nothing wrong with enjoying looking at the surface of the ocean itself, except that when you finally see what goes on underwater, you realize that you’ve been missing the whole point of the ocean. Staying on the surface all the time is like going to the circus and staring at the outside of the tent.”
~ Dave Barry

Meditation is what’s keeping me sane right now. In fact, for most of my life it has been a touchstone for me; a practice that allows me to fill up, to reconnect, to gain wisdom and to access healing.

The practice of meditation always reminds me of sinking beneath the sea. It’s hard to do when you start out – all sorts of thoughts crowd in on you, you worry about your breathing, if you’re doing it right – your focus is on technique. But as you become comfortable, as you get used to showing up in this quiet space, this whole otherworld, you’ll find that it is a practice that changes you from the inside out.

All of the meditations I’ve listed below are easy, but it doesn’t mean they’re not capable of transforming you. Even a few minutes a day is enough to bring about change.

Click on the links below for full instructions on each technique.

Bless ♥ Nicole xx

1. Easy Walking Meditation – If you have trouble with seated meditations this could be just the thing. A short walk where the focus is on breathing and mindfulness. It’s both relaxing and energising so it’s great for people who get stuck in their heads.

2.  Tonglen Meditation – A beautiful method of using the breath to bring healing to self and others, and to help take pain and suffering away. When I don’t know how else to help or what to do, Tonglen provides a path for me. Even if your focus is someone else during this meditation, you will also benefit.

3.  Bee Breath Meditation – This sound-based meditation is based upon a yoga practice called ‘Bhramari’ where you hum like a bee! It opens and clears your throat chakra, oxygenates the body, and reduces inflammation and the body’s stress response. Useful for dealing with fatigue, anger, depression and anxiety.

4.  Pebbles for your Pocket Meditation – I love this one! You choose four stones or pebbles, and then do a short focus exercise of thought and feeling for each pebble to bring the energies of Freshness, Stability, Stillness and Space into your day.

5.  Simple Technique to Boost Energy – When you’re feeling tired, frazzled, being drained by people, or you want to make a nice strong energetic barrier between you and the world, this is the meditation for you! It involves opening and closing energetic circuits within the body by simply using breathing and posture.

6.  Eating the Sun Meditation – Taught to me by some Aboriginal Elders, this meditation technique is grounding and cleansing as well as profoundly nurturing. Wonderful for reconnecting us back into nature and ourselves.

“No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another.”
~ Charles Dickens

At times it is easy to feel small and insignificant – unable to help when all we feel in our hearts is an urge to try. When those we know are suffering, or when there is a catastrophe in another part of the world we might wonder what can be done.

There is something we can do. Meditate!

I first started practicing this meditation as a small girl – maybe three or four years of age.  No one taught me.  I just seemed to know what to do.  My baby sister was fidgeting and restless one night, tossing and turning in the bed beside mine as her teeth came through. I breathed in her fever and distress with every in-breath, and with every out-breath I imagined my breath covering her like a soft blanket, helping her to settle and be calm again.

My ‘magical breathing’ (as I thought of it) worked, and I’ve been doing it ever since, as part of my daily meditation practice.

It was not until I reached my thirties that I found out Tibetan Buddhists have a name for this type of meditation – they call it Tonglen. Tonglen is Tibetan for ‘giving and receiving’ and it is a beautiful and simple practice than anyone can do, with no experience.  What matters is your intent.

Sit or lie quietly, and close your eyes. I like to sit with my spine straight, and my hands together in my lap, thumb tips pressed lightly together. (Use the image of the Dalai Lama at the bottom of this page as a guide.)  If I’m lying in bed, I lie on my back with my hands crossed together over my heart. Try to sit if you can, but for those of you unwell or unable to do so, a prone meditation practice will still work.

Start by imagining someone that you want to help. It might be a friend with depression.  You breathe in the heaviness of their energy and suffering and breathe out joy and peace, or whatever other energy you feel would bring them comfort.

All you ever have to do is ‘breathe in’ the condition, emotion or suffering of another, making room for healing and comfort within them.  Then ‘breathe out’ positive energy, love and light to fill the space you have created.

At times when we don’t know what else to do, this suffices.

His Holiness, the Dalai Lama says of Tonglen:

“Whether this meditation really helps others or not, it gives me peace of mind. Then I can be more effective, and the benefit is immense.”

Healing and Grounding Tibetan Singing Bowl Meditation

Weeds and flowering herbs and vegetables from my messy summer garden.

Weeds and flowering herbs and vegetables from my messy summer garden.

I learn more about God
From weeds than from roses;
Resilience springing
Through the smallest chink of hope
In the absolute of concrete….
~ Phillip Pulfrey, “Weeds,” Perspectives

Morning at our little farm – the birds are singing, the sun is shining and the day is fresh and new. I’ve already been for a short walk and picked some flowering weeds and vegetables gone to seed from my garden. They are as pretty to me as any cultivated flower – there’s beauty everywhere once you start to look.

Today I’ve recorded you a simple meditation using my Tibetan Singing Bowl. (Forgive the slight croakiness in my voice ♥)  The purpose of this meditation is to use sound to clear, ground and heal, and then to expand and connect you – very useful energies at this time of year. You’ll need to set aside about ten minutes.  To listen, just click on the link below.

Know that you are loved, and that as you have sent good energy out into the world, there are also others holding that space for you.  Bless ♥ xx
