Free Guided Meditation for the January 2019 Supermoon Blood Moon Lunar Eclipse

The Supermoon Blood Moon Full-Moon Total Lunar Eclipse is almost upon us. It will happen on January 20/21, and it brings with it great energies of shift and transformation.

This eclipse is the ‘Night of the Luminous Soul’.

It gifts us the capacity to become calm warriors in our families and communities. A calm warrior is brave and strong and does not need aggression or violence in order to fight for their cause. A calm warrior acts with inner strength, wisdom, courage and intelligence. A calm warrior lives with peace in their heart. They act from love.

The eclipse heralds energies of courage, clarity, determination, resilience, patience and empathy. We realise that we are not our struggle. We can sit in compassion for our current selves, rise above our pain and confusion and begin to align ourselves with solutions and actions that will change the face and future of our world, starting right now. It is a time for revelations and breakthroughs, for divine inspiration and conscious creativity. It is a time for clarity and renewal.

Guided Meditation

To help you work with the energies of this Lunar Eclipse I’ve recorded a free Guided Meditation for you. You can sit or lie down to do this meditation. Please choose a crystal or stone to hold in your cupped hands as you listen. You’ll need to set aside twenty minutes for the meditation, and some time afterwards for integration and journalling. It’s also fine to fall asleep while listening to the meditation. To enhance the meditation you may also like to diffuse or anoint yourself with some Jasmine, Neroli or Ylang Ylang essential oil.

You can work with this meditation any time between 18 January and 5 February 2019, when the New moon closes off the energies of the current eclipse.

Here are some simple activities you can do in the next few days to enhance your intuitive connection and psychic ability and to clarify your life direction:

Reflections from the Guided Meditation

Take some time to write down any insights or clarity you received during your meditation. It’s fine to do this meditation more than once, and to add to this journalling exercise over time.

Who Am I?

This activity opens you to your own soul wisdom as well as Universal wisdom. It can help to show you who you are now, and who you have the potential of becoming. Don’t judge anything that comes to you. Write it all down!

Directions: Sit comfortably with your hands in the Anjali Mudra (prayer position) so that your hands are in front of your heart and your eyes are gazing straight ahead. You can close your eyes if you want. (Note: If you also want to work with a crystal for this meditation hold the stone in your cupped hands first, energise it with light, the place it on your lap or on the ground in front of you or under your chair – then sit in the prayer position) Breathe deeply, relax your body and then ask Who Am I? Wait for any words, images or impressions to appear. Then open your eyes and begin to answer this question in your journal. You might want to do this a few times in the next few days, as each time you do this you will be able to go deeper and into more detail.

Using Cards for Clarification:

Choose an oracle or tarot deck that is meaningful to you. Shuffle the cards and then choose three, placing them face down in front of you. Once again sit in Anjali Mudra (prayer position), calm your mind and ask Who am I? When you are ready open your eyes and begin to work with the cards.

Turn over the first card – This shows you who you have been, in the past for this current life, or perhaps even from previous lives. Write down what comes to you in your journal.

Turn over the second card – This shows you who you are right now, including strengths and limitations. Write down what comes to you in your journal.

Turn over the third card – This shows you who you can become, or what you can rise above for this current life. Write down what comes to you in your journal.

Reflection Exercise for Life Clarity: Leave the journal for a while. An hour perhaps, or longer. Whatever feels right to you. Then come back and read what you have written. Look for the words that resonate, and for anything that provides inspiration or direction.

Now write again, this time listing your intentions for this lifetime. Who do you want to be? What do you want to contribute, create, have or experience? How will you do this? Trust that whatever is in your heart is possible!

Using The Energies of The Blood Moon Lunar Eclipse – July 2018

Tonight (or the early hours of Saturday morning, depending on where you live) we will be witness to the longest total lunar eclipse of the 21st century! Australia is particularly well positioned to see this event, and you can use this link to look up the time it will be visible from your location here.

This kind of event is sometimes known as a Blood Moon because of the refracted energy from the earth giving the moon a red glow.

The energies of this eclipse are strong and will work in your favour although they may make you feel a little uncomfortable over the next few weeks.

The main power of the eclipse is in its capacity to help you release old fears, pain, limiting behaviours and beliefs in order to live more fully from your heart. That’s a good thing! But you may find yourself feeling quite emotional and a little off-balance for a few days while this cleansing and rebirthing energy moves through your life.

If you are interested in doing some big shift and personal growth try the following activities to help you make the most of the moon’s dynamics:

Life Direction:

Charge up a crystal to use as a focus stone for meditation and journalling. Place the stone outside under the open sky overnight on the night of the eclipse. Hold the stone in your hands first, cleanse it by visualising white light running through it, and then hold the intention that this stone be used for personal clarity and life direction. Best crystals for this are clear quartz, smoky quartz, citrine, amethyst or rutilated quartz. Any configuration will be okay, including points, towers, tumbles, clusters and jewellery pieces. Then place the stone out overnight and remove when the sun is high in the sky the following day. Now the stone is charged hold it or place it nearby when you meditate and when you journal or use cards to gain clarity for your personal questions.

 

Physical healing:

Charge up a crystal to use as a focus stone for physical healing. Place the stone outside under the open sky overnight on the night of the eclipse. Hold the stone in your hands first, cleanse it by visualising white light running through it, and then hold the intention that this stone be used for physical healing, immune strengthening, pain management or any other specific issue you care to name. Feel free to charge one up for a loved one too if you want! Best crystals for this are bloodstone, carnelian, hematite, fire agate, red jasper and green jade. Any configuration will be okay, including points, towers, tumbles and jewellery pieces. Then place the stone out overnight and remove when the sun is high in the sky the following day. Now the stone is charged hold it in meditation, wear it or place in pocket, or put under your pillow when you sleep.

 

Emotional and Spiritual healing:

Charge up a crystal to use as a focus stone for meditation and journalling. Place the stone outside under the open sky overnight on the night of the eclipse. Hold the stone in your hands first, cleanse it by visualising white light running through it, and then hold the intention that this stone be used for releasing old pains, patterns and limitations and for healing emotional and spiritual wounds so that you can grow and change in positive ways. Best crystals for this are rose quartz, green aventurine, turquoise, amazonite, smoky quartz, moonstone, pearls or opal. Any configuration will be okay, including points, towers, tumbles, clusters and jewellery pieces. Then place the stone out overnight and remove when the sun is high in the sky the following day. Now the stone is charged hold it, wear it or place it nearby when you meditate and when you journal or use cards to gain clarity for your personal questions.

Questions to explore in your journal, with meditation, or using Oracle/tarot cards:

1. Start by holding your crystal if you have chosen one, and close your eyes. Allow your breathing to become calm, and let yourself relax. Then breathe in white light or draw it in through the crown chakra at the top of your head. Offer up a prayer that everything you do be for the Highest Good. Ask your Highest Self, Guides, Angels, Ancestors or God to guide you. Say or think the intention ‘Show me why I am stuck, and help me see what to do next.’

2. Open your eyes. Hold your crystal or place it beside you while you work (feel free to pick it up and hold it again if you need some energy or encouragement). Take your journal and a pen and write whatever comes, using any of the following prompts. Write your prompt into your journal and then keep writing in response to that prompt. Don’t edit yourself. Just let the words flow.

  • I’m stuck because…
  • I hate my life right now because…
  • What I really don’t like is…
  • What I really want is…
  • What do I need to tell myself right now…
  • What do I really need to know right now…
  • Who am I?
  • What do I want?
  • Where am I going?
  • What’s better for me?
  • I’d rather be doing…

3. If you’re super stuck, and nothing is coming, keep asking yourself Why? Give yourself every Why question you can think of. If you ask Why am I stuck? and then write This is stupid! ask yourself Why is this stupid? Eventually, one of the Why questions will pry free all of the feelings and thoughts and answers that are stuck within you. Why are you stuck? Why can’t you do this? Why isn’t this working? Why don’t you know? Why is this a dumb exercise? Why? Why? Why?

4. You’ll end up with words on the page. Hooray! That’s the beginning of unstuckness. Go back over what you’ve written with a highlighter or a pen in another colour where you can underline key words and phrases. Highlight anything that stands out to you.

5. Now choose one of those highlighted areas to investigate further. (This eclipse really supports diving deep.) Write the words you’ve highlighted into your journal again as a new entry, Eg: My relationship with Steve. Close your eyes again, breathe deeply and bring yourself to a place of calm. Feel your energetic team and your Higher Self ready to guide you. Fill yourself with white light and really feel into that support and connection. When you’re ready open your eyes again and pick up your oracle or tarot cards. Shuffle them, thinking about your relationship with Steve. Then choose three cards. The first card shows you where you are now. The second card shows you what the issue or limitation is. The final card shows you your opportunity or outcome. Look at the first card, and really pay attention to whatever thoughts, emotions or ideas come to you, and what the imagery of the card says to you in relation to where you are now with this situation. Then write what comes to you from looking at the card. Repeat this process for the second card, looking to understand what the issues or limitations are. Now use the final card to explore what the opportunities or outcomes can be.

Be open to situations where you may now need to find a coach, mentor or qualified therapist. Sometimes we can own and understand the problem but need help framing up a solution.

Our heart knows what it wants. Our soul can guide us. All we ever need to do is make time for that questing and connection.

As you begin to get unstuck again expect more answers, more flow and a return to inspiration. You’ve got this!
