“Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom.”
Here’s the oracle card I have chosen this Monday, and my take on the energetic outlook for the week ahead.
‘Wisdom’ is from the Chakra Wisdom Oracle Deck by Tori Hartman.
The week ahead is so well suited to supporting us as we seek to find direction, a path to follow, or a deeper sense of who we are and why we are here.
This week, tune in. How you do that is up to you. Get quiet. Go for a walk. Spend some time journalling. Play with your oracle or tarot cards. Do some yoga. Be in your body. Be with your soul. Listen to music. Get into your heart space. Take yourself on a little adventure that reconnects you to your sense of self.
My Year of ME Planner is also a great tool for tuning in! And it’s not too late to join our year-long course and community or to get some more intensive coaching with me for the year ahead. More details hereand in my Shop.
Here’s my own 2017 Planner, and my 2017 gratitude stone, my 2017 crystal pack, and the oracle cards I’m going to use for the year ahead. Pretty delicious, huh?
This week things will become clearer. You’ll become aware of what needs to be healed or changed in your life.
Or you’ll suddenly see a way forward with these things that you were already aware of but were stuck on.
You’ll become better aware of what heals and nurtures you.
You’ll become better aware of what limits or poisons you.
Once you know that, move toward what is beneficial, and away from what is not.
Your heart will call to you. Your wise self will whisper to you. There is a place within you that always knows, and that will always guide you true.
All you need to do to work that out is tune in. Be still. And wait for the answers to come. As you slow down (even just for a few minutes each day) you begin to connect into your own intuitive wisdom, your own heart centre, your inner compass.
Supportive crystals this week? Citrine, Chrysocolla, Aventurine and Amethyst. Helpful essential oils? Young Living’s Clarity essential oil blend, or a combination (or singly!) of any of basil, lemon, rosemary and geranium.
Let yourself move back to a place of hope and optimism this week. Know that you have the capacity to reinvent yourself and to follow your dreams.
Holding you, as always, in my thoughts, prayers and meditations. All my love,
“I was coming together… limb by limb, after being broken for an infinity.”
~ Sanober Khan, A touch, a tear, a tempest
Welcome to the final week of our journal challenge. If you missed the start you can go here to catch up on the tools you’ll need, and to find links to previous weeks.
This week we’re going to look at what we’ve discovered over the past two months, and where to go next. We’ll work to understand the energy behind these insights, and find practical ways to start implementing small positive changes to get our lives back on track.
Our structure is a little different this week, to allow us the time to really make the most of the work we have already done in the previous weeks of the challenge.
Don’t worry – I’ll guide you through it all, one step at a time!
1. Guided Meditation
Take your guidance stone and sit or lie quietly. Then simply follow the sound of my voice. You’ll need seven minutes.
When the meditation is complete, write down your power colour and your power word or phrase in your journal.
How can you use your Power Word this week? Write a few ideas, based on your word. Trust whatever comes and write it down. Don’t overthink it.
What does your Colour mean to you? What words or ideas does it provoke? Write them down. This week, use this colour to boost your energy. Shut your eyes for thirty seconds and breathe it into your body whenever you feel a bit flat or low. Wear it as clothing. Choose flowers in your colour. Eat food that colour. Be creative with it.
2. Oracle Card
Take your cards, offer up a small prayer that whatever you do be for your Highest Good, and then shuffle the deck. As you’re shuffling, ask the question‘What do I most need to focus on this week?’ Say it out loud or hold it as a thought in your head. Either will work.
Choose one card. How you choose is up to you. Split the deck. Fan them out. Top or bottom. Dive right in. There is no right or wrong.
Now look at your card and hold your guidance stone in your non-writing hand. Really look at the card. Don’t use the book or the ‘proper’ meaning. We are being intuitive here, people! What stands out for you in the picture? What thoughts and ideas do the images provoke? Take a minute or two and write those thoughts down. I know, you might feel like you’re just making it all up. That’s okay. Write anyway. Trust that there is a part of you that is wise and that has been waiting for this chance to speak with your conscious mind.
Here’s my first page for this week. Go on, those of you who know me well. Laugh a little at my oracle card, which does seem to imply the need for a smidge more rest… Still, despite that subtle message from the Universe, there is more here, and I find myself smiling at the simple truths, the feeling of being so supported and the clear picture beginning to emerge for me:
The following activities can be done all at once, or over the next month or so. You may find that quite a lot of helpful information comes out of these sessions.
3. Power Word Journal Activity
On a new page in your journal gather together a summary of your Power Words, week by week. List them one by one.
Read over the words and then write a paragraph or more about what those words mean for you.
Now hold those words in your head, ask the question What do I most need to know and understand from these words? and shuffle your oracle card deck. Then choose three cards, and place them down side by side. (Hint: you might like to take a photo of them and print it out to add into your journal)
Look at the first card. What is it showing you about your direction? Write your insights into your journal.
Look at the second card? What are the gifts of these words for your unfolding life? Write your insights into your journal.
Look at the third card? What do you most need to know from this experience? What’s your big take-away from all of this? Think of card three as your summary card and then record your insights on the page.
Here’s my first look at my Power Words as a collective energy:
4. Colour and Word Journal Activity
On a new page in your journal gather together a summary of your colours, week by week.
Read over the colours from each week, and then from the words you wrote in response to that colour, choose choose one word or phrase that really stands out for you. Write these in your journal as a numbered list, just like you did with your power words.
Think about the first week’s colour, and the phrase or word you chose from what you wrote about that colour. Write a paragraph or two to explore how you can incorporate that energy and guidance in your life.
Now shuffle your oracle cards, thinking about your colour and word or phrase, and then choose a card. Let this card offer you further insights and write these down.
Repeat this process for each colour.
Here’s what I did with my first week’s colour, and the phrase that jumped out at me from what I had written:
5. My Project Starting Point – Journal Activity
Last week you wrote down some activities and ideas that relate to your project in the back of your journal.
Go back and review them, and then number them in the order in which they need to be completed.
Once they are numbered, schedule the first one into your diary and get started! Review your list often, tick things off when you’re done, and be prepared to break some of your activities into smaller tasks.
Using this method and actually making a start means that you’re on your way to doing this thing and making the changes needed to make your life more satisfying and meaningful.
My priorities look like this:
Getting The Most Out Of Your Previous Journal Activities
Now that you’ve done all of this self work, do spend the time to sit quietly somewhere with your journal, pens, cards and a cup of tea or your preferred non-alcoholic beverage. Gift yourself the time for continued quiet reflection as you read back over your writings, and find out more and more about your heart’s true wisdom and desires.
I like to set aside an hour every Sunday to go back over my journal writings, and to plan my week ahead. It’s my hour of power, and I usually pull a card for the coming week, and set my intention for how I want the week to unfold, as well as writing down my most important goals and action steps.
Using the Gratitude Rock:
The Gratitude Rock anchors positive energy and gratitude at the end of every day. You can carry your stone with you, or leave it beside your bed. At night, before you go to sleep, hold your Gratitude Rock in your hand.
As you hold the stone say to yourself I am richly Blessed. I have an Abundance of Good in my life. Then hold in your mind one or more image of a thing you have been grateful for today. Swell that positive energy up in your heart like a beautiful golden light, and give a heart-felt Thank You, Thank You, Thank You to the Universe. Visualise a tiny shower of golden light travelling from your heart into your Gratitude Rock.
Now here’s the fun bit – imagine all of the other people who are taking part in this journalling challenge with you. Once again build up a strong positive energy in your heart, and then imagine shooting a stream of golden light out into the Universe to those people.
Say Thank you. I Bless You. I intend for you Love, Miracles and Abundance. Know that as you are saying this for them, they are also saying this for you. Feel that connection and gratitude and know that there is real love and support for you here. Place your rock back beside your bed, and go to sleep, cocooned in this good energy.
Thanks for joining me for this journal challenge. I hope it has given you some clarity and momentum. These simple tools can be used to keep building understanding of yourself and for designing your life. I’d love to hear how they have worked for you. Post your comments below or pop over to facebook and let me know how you’ve done in the past two months. Big hugs, and congratulations on a job well done.
“I can choose either to be a victim of the world or an adventurer in search of treasure. It’s all a question of how I view my life.” ~ Paulo Coelho
I’ve been quite overwhelmed with the flood of messages and emails since yesterday’s post on Remembering to take care of YOU! Seems that many of you are feeling unfulfilled, overwhelmed, under-appreciated, stuck in a life where you’re just going through the motions or too busy looking after everyone else to even start on the things that are dear to your hearts.
Well my lovelies, that just isn’t good enough! You are here to shine your light in the world! You have talents and desires that deserve airplay in your lives!
‘2013 is a foundation year of growth and positive change, where we are reflecting these energies out from ourselves as we inhabit a place of stronger authenticity, awareness and connection. This year, as we sit in our personal power, we will feel a desire to contribute, to explore, to dream up new ways of being, and to action those dreams in the world. It is a time for visionaries, leaders and the building of lasting change.’
Because I want you to make the most of this fantastic energy for change I’ve decided to create a simple weekly course, delivered right here each Monday over the following 6 weeks, to help you get clear about what’s important to you and how to make your life more meaningful and satisfying.
The foundation of this course is going to be:
and I’ll be holding your hand every step of the way.
So to get ready for next Monday I need you to do a few things;
Find or buy yourself a journal. Choose one without lines because we need to be able to write, draw and glue stuff. Let it be big enough that you can actually fit some stuff on the pages. It doesn’t need to be expensive – even a kid’s cheap scrapbook or scribble book would do.
Get some art materials together. Nothing fancy – just some scissors, glue, coloured crayons or felt pens, and some old magazines you can cut up. You’ll also need some pens or pencils for writing with.
Find a scarf, shawl or wrap in a favourite colour that empowers you.
Choose a deck of positive cards (such as Angel Cards etc) or runes and a rune book.
Select a crystal of your choice.
It’s going to be fun. It’s going to be enlightening. And it’s going to propel you into action. Hooray for that! Bless ♥ xx
There is a powerful but much forgotten Law in the Universe – The Law Of Reciprocation. I’m sure you are familiar with it, although you might not know it by this name. Effectively it means that for every action there needs to be an equal and opposite reaction. Give and take. Keeping things balanced…
It’s a good one to keep in mind when we want to manifest change in our lives. Think of change as being a little like a mathematical equation. In order to become or to have something new you’ll need to give up something old that no longer serves you.
We become by letting go…
Last night at my retreat we did a Full Moon Becoming Ceremony. It concluded with the burning of lists we had created, stating what we were ready to release in order to claim new gifts and energies in our lives .
(We were of course spurred on by the thought of chai and dessert at the conclusion of our ritual!)
If change isn’t happening for you (no matter what area of your life) and if you are ready to manifest something new, take a little time and ask yourself honestly, what are you prepared to let go, in order to create the space and the energy for something new.
There are wonderful and supportive energies right now for creating shift. I encourage you to be brave, and to have a bigger vision for yourself. Allow yourself the gift of Becoming. Embrace change and welcome growth.
