The Energies of December – 2016

“Sometimes, you have to look back in order to understand the things that lie ahead.”
~ Yvonne Woon

Hello, Lovelies :)

December is here, and after the crazy ramped-up energies that were November things are shifting back to a slower gear!

December is a month for truly giving thought to who we are, where we’ve been, and where we want to go next.

After last month’s call to action, this month we’re being encouraged to find space and time for thinking, dreaming and planning. The energies of 2017 also begin to kick in around the 17th of December, and we’ll begin to feel an expansiveness and a sense of calm that’s been lacking all year.

Cards for the Month:

I’ve chosen two cards for December for you: one from the Osho Zen Tarot Deck, and one from Colette Baron-Reid’s Wisdom of the Oracle. Please note I don’t use these cards in the conventional way, but rather as a stimulus for channelled information.

Here is what I have received from each card:

“I love the dark hours of my being.
My mind deepens into them.
There I can find, as in old letters,
the days of my life, already lived,
and held like a legend, and understood.”
~ Rainer Maria Rilke

“Can you remember who you were, before the world told you who you should be?”
~ Charles Bukowski

December brings the gifts of the Supermind.

This is the space we go into for deep reflection, learning and integration of those learnings so that we gain true wisdom. It’s a month of heightened emotional and psychic sensitivity, but from a place of being grounded and at peace in our hearts.

The quiet we find in our December meditations or walks in nature will help us to see our own courage and luminous beauty.

December allows us to radiate our own light into the world, from our hearts and our innermost truth. It’s an energy that helps us to give thanks for all we have experienced, and all we are becoming. It is also an energy of easily letting go of what no longer serves us, and of being able to embrace a braver vision for ourselves and this co-created life we are manifesting.

In December, even in the midst of busy-ness, we will benefit most by giving ourselves periods of true downtime, silence, rest and reflection.

“Well, if one’s going to daydream, one might as well make it a good one, don’t you suppose?”
~ Danielle Paige

The second card I’ve chosen is Imagine. December is a month where we can finally move into flow with dreaming and planning what comes next for us. It’s a month where possibilities, grand schemes and crazy ideas can begin to move from mere concepts to grounded realities.

Even if you’ve found it hard to imagine a bigger life or a better life for yourself prior to now, you’ll find that this month – suddenly – it all starts to become easier. You’ll begin to see that connecting feelings with the images in your heart and mind is the missing ingredient. As you dream your future, add emotions to that mind-movie and you’ll turbo-charge your ability to believe in and commit to your dreams. Glimmers of manifestation will begin to sparkle on your horizon almost immediately.

It’s a month for emotional luxury and kindness directed towards the self at least as much as you direct kindness outwards from yourself.

Struggle to evoke feelings of self-love and the belief that you are worthy of positive change and good things showing up in your life? Try this simple activity. At regular intervals during your day (set a timer if you need to!), stop and have a mindful minute. In this minute begin by thinking of someone who you love. Build that love energy in your heart and then spill that feeling of connection, love and gratitude into the life around you. If you are at your desk have a love and appreciation for all of the items on your desk. If you’re out in nature, feel that love connection to nature. Wherever you are – office, grocery store, childcare centre, home, stuck in traffic – radiate love and gratitude out into the world and feel your connection to all things.

When we feel connected, we sit in flow and everything is possible. It is when we are in disconnect in our lives and with the world around us that we will struggle to visualise and to choose goals and dreams for ourselves that will stretch us and grow us.

December is a magical month for dreaming of what can be. It’s also a time to connect to our innermost desires and heart’s purpose. Thinking of making a vision board? December is a great month for this!

Make time for dreaming and planning this month, no matter how crazy your festive season might be.

Best crystals this month?

Labradorite and Larimar.

Labradorite is the mystic’s stone, and is a powerful stone for self-discovery. This stone enhances all meditation and spiritual practice. It’s one of my all-time favourite crystals, and I use one daily in my own morning meditations.

Larimar is a stone of serenity and wisdom, which connects us to the oceans without and to the oceans within. It encourages self-reflection and honest communication. It’s also incredibly soothing for jangled nerves and raw emotions.

Essential oils to support your journey?

Each of the following oils will work beautifully on their own for you this month, but they also make a delicious combination for diffusing. Sokli calls this her Calm and Centered Blend.  The essential oils you will find helpful in December are Ylang Ylang, Jasmine, Rose and Frankincense. Ylang Ylang calms and centres us, helping us to live from our hearts. Jasmine provokes a more positive outlook and builds feelings of self-confidence, joy and recognition of our own inner beauty. Rose removes emotional blocks and limitations to success and opens our heart to receiving. (If you don’t have Rose and Jasmine, substitute Bergamot.) Frankincense allows us to be divinely connected and in spiritual flow. To diffuse add 2 or three drops of each oil to your room or personal diffuser.  Young Living’s Clarity Blend will also work beautifully this month. You can find the oils here.

December is a month for taking time for ourselves – so we can dream a little, plan a little, and reconnect with what matters most to us. It’s a powerful month for getting clear about where we’re headed in 2017.

Let this month be about you and your dreams! That’s the best Christmas gift you could possibly give yourself.

Concluding Our Oracle Card Challenge

“The outside world can only trigger or block your experience of your true nature. Each time something beautiful takes your breath away, that’s you experiencing yourself. Each time you fall in love with someone, that’s you experiencing yourself. Each time a child’s smile gives you unspeakable joy, that’s you experiencing yourself. Your true nature is beautiful. Life is the art of rediscovering yourself, again and again, in different forms, celebrating, rejoicing, welcoming. You are beautiful. You are life itself.”
~ Vironika Tugaleva

Thank you so much for being part of this Oracle Card Challenge.

Now that you are familiar with using cards to help you to gain insights and direction, you can apply the methods I have shown you to work with any situation in your life where you require insight or inspiration.

I recommend that you use cards as a tool for clarification, rather than as an instrument of prediction. You are the force of power in your life. Within you lies the capability to steer yourself true and to make decisions and choices that are well aligned with a positive future. That future is shaped by your intentions and actions. Don’t give your power away by using cards to predict your own future, or to keep asking a question over and over until you find an answer that pleases you. All successful change comes through deliberate thought, intention and action. No matter your current circumstances, you have these things at your disposal to help bring about changes in your life.

I also recommend that you go back through your journal now, and explore each area you wrote about in more depth. Create an action plan for yourself. Decide on some priorities. Implement your plan, and watch what magic you can create in your life.

Love and hugs, Nicole <3 xx

What Bravery Looks Like

“I don’t like and even resist, being broken wide-open. But, when the contents of my unconscious self spill out of me and I sift through all the disowned parts of who I am… it’s an uncomfortably enlightening and eye-opening experience. It feels a bit like emotional bloodletting. I guess every now and then, I need that release valve to open all the way…”
~ Jaeda DeWalt

So here we are on retreat, with an amazing bunch of women. We’re tidying up the loose ends of 2015, and getting ready for a fabulous 2016. We’re feasting on delicious food. We’re playing with crystals and essential oils and oracle cards. We’re talking to Guides and Fairies and connecting to our own inner wisdoms. We’re pampering ourselves, resting, lying by the pool, having adventures in Byron Bay and beyond, and doing a little serious self-reflection and forward planning for the year ahead.

And we’re working through some really big shift.

I’m sitting in quiet awe and admiration of these ladies. Self-work is the hardest work that you can do, and every one of them has dived right in. They are so ready for this change. To honestly examine your life – your attitudes and behaviours, your actions and decisions – and to identify what needs work, and then to do that work, is no picnic.

I’ll be honest. It’s been a little tiring at times. There have been a few tears. It’s hard, looking at those parts of our life that aren’t working. Those areas where we’ve failed ourselves, or others have failed us. Those dreams of our own we’ve left languishing while we’re too busy supporting everyone else.

But do you know what else? It’s inspiring! Watching women move from fear, confusion and indecision to clarity, direction and focus. Watching women help each other to birth the things inside them that needed to be said, or examined or decided or owned.

2016 is such a big year, and they’ll be ready. They’ll be ready with tools and a plan, and the support of a loving and kind community of like-minded souls. This coming year won’t be like all the other years. It will be different because they are now different.

I’m excited to see what unfolds for them. I know it will be life-changing.

Want to be part of that change?

Stay tuned. I’ll share more information with you tomorrow, and a sneak preview of my exciting secret project.

Sending big love and hugs your way, Nicole xx

Will You Join Us for the 2014 Soul Sanctuary Retreat?

“When we pay attention, whatever we are doing – whether it be cooking or cleaning or making love – is transformed and becomes part of our spiritual path. We begin to notice details and textures that we never noticed before; everyday life becomes clearer, sharper and at the same time more spacious.” ~ R. Fields

I’m holding a residential retreat from November 29 to December 5, in beautiful Byron Bay. It’s a perfect way to see out the energies of 2014, and prepare for 2015. Perhaps you’d like to join us?

The Soul Sanctuary Retreat is for women only.  A safe space for us to come together, to step into our powerful feminine energy and sisterhood. It’s a week of pamper, nurture and time for yourself. A perfect opportunity for you to rest and rejuvenate, indulge in some self-care and make the focus all about YOU!

2015 is almost here. It will be a year for building solid foundations, new patterns of behaviour and engaging, and truly living from our heart’s truth. This retreat is designed to help you get ready for that energy, so that you can truly make the most of the year ahead.

Highlights of this week-long retreat:

  • We will learn some simple meditation techniques to calm us, centre us and clear us.
  • We will give ourselves space to relax and renew.
  • We will identify our hidden (or not so hidden) addictions, so that we can address them and create a plan for moving back towards balance.
  • We will explore where we sabotage ourselves and what positive behaviours we can practice instead of the old ways that no longer serve us.
  • We will discover how to connect with, and utilise our internal energetic compass.
  • We will learn how to use the Universal Ordering System to bring ourselves back into flow and abundance.
  • We will examine shame and how it steals our power and keeps us small and limited.
  • We will work with the Power of Forgiveness, which is a hugely transformative force for good in our lives.
  • We will discover or remember our Soul Passions; using some channeled wisdoms from Nicole and her Guides, some art therapy, some spiritual work and some journaling
  • We will work with our Guides and Ancestors, learning to connect into and listen to their wisdoms and insights.
  • We will learn about creating a Spiritual Foundation of practices that can guide us, soothe us and enlighten us.
  • We will create a group Earth Healing Mandala, an individual Heart Healing Mandala, and a very special Sacred Talisman Mandala to act as our personal Spirit Map for 2015.

There will also be plenty of restful time for naps, swims, contemplation, friendship and personal projects. There will be time for meditation, and lots of channeled goodness with Nicole’s beautiful team. There will be time for healing, journaling, relaxing, spiritual goodness and lots of yummy organic food, lovingly created by our own personal chef, the amazing Deb Preston.

On this retreat we will be working with the energies of the waning moon, which is perfect for developing a deeper understanding of ourselves, for inner work, for soul connection and spiritual guidance.

This gentle but powerful week will help you to truly bring the focus back to yourself, and to become clear about what is important in your life. Perhaps for the first time you will be able to see clearly what matters to you, and what has been holding you back. You’ll find ways to hear the whisperings of your own heart. What you find will enable you to create a path forward that has meaning and magic to it.

2014 has been such a big year, and the energies of 2015 are vastly different. Our retreat will enable you to move into the new year refreshed, clear and ready for what comes next.

I’m so excited about this course, and we still have a few places left.

Lots of love 🙂 Nicole xoxo

Defining Your Priorities in Life

This beautiful image by Kittisak

Life is short. Life is precious. And in our lives we need to be able to fit into a limited amount of time the things that will satisfy us, grow us, and make us happy.

So many people that I know have this terrible sense of never having enough time, and never getting around to the things that are important to them. Those dreams and desires keep getting relegated to ‘tomorrow’, and as we all know, tomorrow never comes.

If you’re in a place of overwhelm and exhaustion, you might find this post helpful to get you started: Simplicity is a Choice  You can also read about how I got my own personal priority act together here: The gift of impermanence OR live like you’re dying

So how do we work out what’s important to us? Journalling is one of the best ways I have found for clearing out the clutter in our minds and tidying our thoughts onto a page.  Today’s post will help you start that process of clarifying what matters to you, and how you want your life to look.

Journal Activity:

It’s important to re-orient yourself back to your own internal priorities for this exercise, rather than the pressures of your life the way it is right now.

If possible, take yourself somewhere away from work or home – maybe a library, a coffee shop or a park, even the back yard or a veranda could work. Having surroundings that are not associated with chores, duties or your to-do-list will be very helpful for this process. Allocate at least ten minutes for this journal task, but note that if you haven’t been giving yourself much time lately you may need considerably longer.  The investment in yourself will be worth it!

Start by writing this passage into your journal or diary. Feel free to use coloured inks, stickers, doodles or anything else that makes your heart sing.

My life is precious to me, and I recognise that it’s a gift.  Before I was even born I was dreaming of the things I could do, experience and discover in this lifetime.

Inside me is a strong wisdom about what matters to me. My heart, my soul, my gut – they all have messages for my mind to hear and understand – and I’m really ready to listen.

More than that, I’m ready for change.  I‘m ready to act upon my priorities.  My life matters to me.  My time is now!

Choose any of the following journal starters and then begin writing:

  • This idea in the back of my mind is
  • I feel unbelievably pressured because
  • All I really want to be doing is
  • If I had more time I would
  • The thing that lights me up inside is
  • I know I need to
  • If I won a million dollars, suddenly I would be able to
  • My biggest regret is that
  • If I could find a way to support myself I would
  • Ever since I was little I have dreamed of
  • The secret hope inside me is
  • I get a huge surge of relief every time I think about
  • My whole world would change if
  • It makes me outrageously happy to think about
  • People have always said that I
  • When I look back on my life, I’d like to be able to say that
  • The things on my personal bucket list are

We never know what life has in store for us. You’ll never please everyone, but the one person we often forget to please is ourselves. You are worthy, valuable and you came to this life to live your dreams. Maybe it’s time to honour that in some small way. Live without regrets! Live each day not so that you can cross it off and breathe a sigh of weary relief, but so that it counts for you, so that it matters to you and to your dreams. ♥
