Strengthening Intuition – A program of exercises!

“Cease trying to work everything out with your minds. It will get you nowhere. Live by intuition and inspiration and let your whole life be Revelation.”
~ Eileen Caddy

Please don’t tell me that you’re not intuitive! We are all born with a sixth sense – the ability to connect to a deeper wisdom, and to perceive and understand things that are beyond the reaches of our conscious mind.

Over the next eight weeks, every Monday (That’s Sunday for you folk on the other side of the world!) I shall post an exercise to help you recover and develop your own intuition.

Intuition can be a powerful guiding force in our lives, once we learn how to tune in to it and honour that wisdom.

Each of us has intuition at our core, each of us has psychic ability and spiritual connection – it’s just that most of us don’t trust it, no longer believe in it, or don’t know how to use it. We’ve come to prize intellect and logic over anything we can’t prove. And that weakens us. That’s why we lose our way.  That’s why we get ourselves into such terrible messes…

I’ve written before about intuition, and you might find these posts helpful too:

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.”
~ Steve Jobs

At the bottom of the page are the topics I am going to blog about over the coming weeks.  I promise that if you follow my suggestions you will begin to improve your own intuitive ability.  When we listen to our intuition we make better choices, ones more aligned with our own values and heart’s calling.  We begin to change the direction of our lives to suit our nature and that will give us contentment.  We often uncover passions, begin new jobs or relationships, embark on further study or a big new project, and all of that will be better aligned to our true selves.

Over time, you will also notice a deeper spiritual and psychic awareness.  That’s normal, and nothing to be afraid of.  So, I look forward to working with you.  The world needs more tuned-in, heart-centred, intuition-directed people. And your own life will become happier, and truer to your purpose and desires. It’s win-win!

Using Crystals to Access Information – Day Three

Using crystals is a great way to begin accessing information for yourself and others, and can gently open you up to greater levels of spiritual and psychic gifts and awakening.

Although quartz crystals are the most common stone for this sort of connection, I believe that you need to work with the crystal you are drawn to.  My very first working stone was an aventurine shaped roughly like a heart that fit nicely in the palm of my hand. (For more information on how to choose a crystal click here.)

Crystals are great teachers.  They can hold much wisdom, and allow us to tap into information stored within us, within our Higher Selves, within the Akashic Records, and within Guides and other energetic Beings.

When I was young I never, ever thought I would be able to channel or do work at the level I am at now. I was such a skeptic even though my own natural abilities had been evident much of my life. I was okay with receiving information as it came to me, but felt very uncertain about attempting to make it happen deliberately.  I was uncomfortable with even trying this sort of activity, but I found as my resistance decreased and I became more open, things flowed much more easily.

So it doesn’t matter if you feel awkward or uncomfortable with today’s activity – just enter with a sense of innocence and childlike curiosity and you might be amazed at what comes to Light. ♥

Meditation for Accessing Guidance and Information from a Crystal:

Choose a stone you feel drawn to work with, clease it and then sit somewhere comfortable so that you can follow this meditation.  You may like to burn incense or light a candle to further enhance your experience.

Nicole Cody’s Guided Meditation for Connecting with Crystal Wisdoms – Day 3

It is useful to keep a journal to record any impressions, information or names from your meditation sessions. You might even feel inspired to draw or paint!

(PS – The stone I used today during this meditation was a Canadian Labradorite – that’s it in the picture below.)

Storing and handling crystals

If possible, wrap crystals you are not using, or that you are transporting, in a natural fabric such as silk, cotton, wool, linen or hemp.  Use your intuition when selecting fabrics – maybe a patterned scarf, a scrap of velvet, a bag you found at the markets, or even a pretty handkerchief could be used.

You may also wish to place crystals on a window ledge, in a potplant, or in a positive energy place within your home.

Once you have cleansed your crystals, be selective about who you allow to touch them because stones will absorb the energies of the people who handle them.  You may find that there are some stones you need to keep just for you, while others may invite handling from anyone!  After working with a stone for a long time, and investing a lot of your own energy into it, you may find that just holding that stone will take you to a positive, calmer, more meditative or healing state.

A week-long course in journalling – Day 3

Australia is the land of ‘droughts and flooding rains’.  Trust me, when I say that this plays havoc with our storm-water drains!

“Ah, yes, Nicole,” I can hear you thinking, “but what has that got to do with journalling?”  Everything, my dear.

Day 3 – Clearing the pipes

Think of the pathway between your conscious mind, and that lovely, wise and creative source energy within you as a pipe, like the type of drain that carries storm water.  Over time, and with lack of use, the pipe is inclined to get blocked.  In times of drought our storm-water drains get clogged up with dirt and dust, sticks and plastic bags, parts of old bicycles and dead rats.  Is it no wonder that when rain finally comes we might be bitterly disappointed at the quality of water that flows from the pipe?  Maybe even the flow will be miserable, as the water dams behind all of the debris.

We need to clear the pipe before that pure, good water can flow.  We need to suspend our judgement of what comes out when the water first trickles from the pipe.

Task for the day:

Read through this section and then follow the instructions. Sit for a minute or so, with your eyes closed, and visualise a pipe inside you, clogged with all manner of rubbish.  Some of that rubbish may have even been useful at one time or other, but now all it’s doing is blocking your flow. Feel the power of that good clean water beginning to move down the pipe.  Feel it hitting the obstruction of all of that debris.  A journal is a very fine place for getting all of this mess cleared.

Your job is not to process this mess. Who would bother to filter through the crap that comes out in a stinking, stagnant stormwater drain when the wet season comes?  No.  Your job is merely to clear the pipe by writing.

Expect rubbish.  Expect pettiness.  Expect complaints and dead rats, pizza boxes and congealed plastics. Expect that most of what you write won’t even be true anymore (might not ever have been true, except in the heat of a moment), and will be an assortment of mouldering old hoo-haa.  Some of what you write might even sound like incredible soul wisdom.  Dazzling brilliance.  It won’t be.  It’s just an ego download.  Be happy about that.  Know that you are clearing the pipes. You’ll probably need to do this more than once.  But that’s okay – you have a lifetime of journalling ahead. Open your eyes, and start writing, beginning with the words The thing is…

Do this process often enough and your waters will flow clean and pure, to nourish and delight you in ways you didn’t know were possible. (this image by dan)

PS: I so heart that goldfish!

Journalling brings many gifts, once we clear the pipes to allow good flow.
