When Crystals Break…

“We had entered an era of limitlessness, or the illusion thereof, and this in itself is a sort of wonder. My grandfather lived a life of limits, both suffered and strictly observed, in a world of limits. I learned much of that world from him and others, and then I changed; I entered the world of labor-saving machines and of limitless cheap fossil fuel. It would take me years of reading, thought, and experience to learn again that in this world limits are not only inescapable but indispensable.”
~ Wendell Berry

Crystals are wonderful healing tools and metaphysical companions. There are two things I find admirable about crystals. They will take on enormous energetic burdens on our behalf, and they know their limits.

Sometimes when a crystal has worked hard it will reach breaking point – the place where it literally cannot take any more.

I have had crystals explode in my hand (or not long after putting them down) while doing energetic work for myself or others. Some of my stones have developed internal fractures and cracks so that the stone remains whole but the inner crystal shows flaws. When they heal they often develop a rainbow in that spot.

Whenever working stones crack or have had enough, I return them to the earth for a while. Or sometimes, forever. Some crystals will rehabilitate over time and be ready for more work, some will be done for good.

It has been a while since I’ve had a stone break, but one broke yesterday while I was using it.

As I held my meditation mala in my hands, working on my retreat students, one bead snapped in half between my fingers. It had absorbed a trauma on a student’s behalf, creating a big energetic shift for that person. But that stone had no more to give, and it told me so. A rose quartz butterfly – one wing simply sheared off, with absolutely no pressure from me.

Fortunately I’d added an extra bead to the mala, in case such an event occurred. I transferred the intent and positive energy from the broken stone into the spare bead.

When I break down the mala at the end of our retreat I shall bury this stone in the beautiful gardens at Sangsurya – our retreat venue. I will thank it for its hard work and sacrifice. I will bless it and let it go back into the earth.

Be gentle with yourself right now. Be kind. Choose loving words. Nurture yourself, especially if you’re working hard. Treat yourself as a precious object and fill yourself up with love. We all have limits. It’s important to honour them.

Bless <3  xx

Crystals for Highly Sensitive People

“Treating myself like a precious object makes me strong.” ~ Julia Cameron

I love working with crystals, and my gorgeous fairy companion Sokli is completely nuts for them. Because we’ve had such positive and strong reactions whenever we have blogged about being sensitive, we thought we might give you some suggestions for crystals to help you on your journey as sensitive souls.  These are stones I use often, and we hope you find them helpful too.

If you haven’t worked with crystals before and would like some ideas about how to do that, you can visit these posts for more information:

How to work with Crystals – A Four Day Exploration

Getting to know your Crystal – Day One

Healing with Crystals – Day Two

Using Crystals to Access Information – Day Three

Working with Crystal Grids – Day Four

But if all you do is wear a crystal or stick one in your pocket that’s enough too.  Enjoy some crystal magic, and embrace your beautiful sensitive nature!

Love and Light,

Nicole and Sokli ♥ xoxo

PS – If you would like us (me and Sokli) to channel and make you a healing necklace using a combination of stones chosen especially for you, please let me know, via a comment below or send me a message through facebook. – Update: It’s fine to leave your name below, even though the list is getting a little longer.  This is a beautiful task for me to do while I am recuperating, and it gives me so much pleasure.  It may just take us a little longer to complete them all. Oh, and you can find me on facebook at Nicole Cody

Here’s our crystal suggestions…

Mookaite – Australian Jasper Mookaite is a gently shielding stone that helps us to think clearly and to break patterns of self criticism and negative thinking.  It aids us in looking for positive solutions to life’s dilemmas, and to embrace change. On a physical level it helps us to strengthen our immune and endocrine systems, and is especially useful for providing grounded, stable energy. Very nurturing and soothing for when you’re feeling depleted physically, emotionally, spiritually or all three!

Black Tourmaline – This is my emergency go-to stone whenever I am scattered, ungrounded, shifting big ‘stuff’, or have had a big physical or psychic shock. I absolutely love Black Tourmaline, especially the rough form. It is so powerful but it feels gentle for sensitive souls like us.  Keeps you in your body, clears your head, rebalances your brain and helps the body eliminate physical and energetic toxins and impurities.  Cleanses the aura and opens and activates your Earth Star chakra which grounds you and anchors you into the Earth. Great to use four pieces in a grid, one at each corner of your bed, to promote sleep and to open you to heightened spiritual connection. Hold one in your hand and you’ll immediately feel the stabilising effects. An amazing stone.

Larimar – also know as the Blue Stone of Atlantis.  Larimar is a gentle but strong stone for enhancing spiritual and psychic connection.  It helps to reduce anxiety around who we are, and to bring a sense of peace and self-acceptance into our lives.  Larimar facilitates self expression, creativity, healing and clear communication. It’s especially good for starseed souls and those who feel like they just don’t belong to humanity somehow. It also has strong connections into the oceans of the world, the Pleiadean star system, dolphins and whales, and aligns our energy fields with those of the earth.

Pearls – Sokli assures me that ‘Pearls count, Nicole!’  She also tells me that ‘Men can wear pearls too!’ They are often overlooked as a crystal, and technically they are not a rock, but pearls have such a beautiful energy for sensitive souls. They are a great tool for protecting from and relieving emotional and psychic shock.  Pearls are nurturing for the emotions, they balance the heart chakra, reduce physical and all other forms of pain, and they gently help us to stay in our truth.  They also work on digestive and hormonal issues, reducing inflammation and bringing balance.  Pearls have been used to enhance fertility and to bring us back into natural sleep cycles.

Fire Agate – A delicious form of Carnelian, this stone is perfect for those who suffer from adrenal fatigue, mental or physical exhaustion, chronic fatigue, ill health and sensitivities to foods or chemicals. It bolsters our energy, detoxifies the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies, and helps to boost and rebalance our hormones and digestion. It also dispels self-doubt and negativity, strengthening self-esteem, confidence and creativity.  We love this crystal!

Thanks for stopping by my blog.  It’s great to have you here! ♥♥♥

Win a Healing Necklace, Made Especially For You!

This is the final week of my blog supporter love-up, and I’ve saved the best ’til last.

So far the beautiful Anita has won the every.day.presence book by Simone De Haas.

This week Tammy of onelittlestranger wins a crystal just for her, chosen and channelled by me. Congratulations, Tammy! I shall be delving through my magical cupboard to find just the right stone for you. ❤

I am so very grateful for all of the support and connection that you have shown me and my blog thus far.  I had no idea when I wrote my very first (rather lame) post that things would snowball the way they have. But my intention from the beginning with Cauldrons and Cupcakes has been to uplift, to support, to inspire and encourage – and to share my life so that I demystify the supposed ‘strangeness’ of having metaphysical abilities.

The spiritual journey is also a healing journey, and so my last offering to you in this big month of celebration is this – a custom-made healing necklace, hand crafted by me, and incorporating crystals and stones that are attuned to your own vibration so that you can experience positive shift, healing and growth in some significant physical, emotional or spiritual area of your life.

Here are some examples of necklaces I’ve made thus far:

❤ Fee’s necklace:

❤ Sophie’s Strand

❤ The Three Sisters’ Stones

When I make your necklace I meditate upon you first, to ask what you most need.  I choose the beads and crystals, and as I string the necklace I say a prayer and affirmation over each bead, no matter how tiny.  Finally, when the beads are strung, I hold the necklace in my hands and say a prayer of Blessing and do a further meditation for you, then I place the necklace in my crystal grid for twenty four hours to charge it up for you. There is love in every single bead, and they are truly powerful pieces.

All you need to do to be in the draw is to leave a comment below.  It doesn’t matter where in the world you live – if you are meant to win, you shall, and I shall happily send your necklace on to you.  Wishing you luck, and peace in your heart. ❤ Nicole xx

I’d rather have roses on my table than diamonds on my neck.  ~ Emma Goldman

Flowers are a precious gift from nature.  Their colour, fragrance, shape and texture have a marvellous ability to impart energetic and healing qualities to us.

My beautiful fairy friend Sokli (you can read about her here) and I chose these flower pictures for their energy and how this can positively affect you.  We have also meditated on each image to charge it up for you.

Here’s Sokli’s message to you:

Hiya. Hi Hi Hi! Remember that the Earth is your Mother too, and she loves you very much and so do we. Flowers is always a nice gift for yourselves and you don’t even have to pick them, you can grow them in your garden or go for a nice walk and drink up all their lovely goodness. Even perfumes that smell of flowers are good for you because they still have the magic in them from the flower. Flowers is to make us happy and to give us gifts. I love them very much and I hope you do too, and we made some nice flower presents for you so that you remember how much we love you. It’s a Mothers Day present for EVERYONE. Okay bye and thanks for being our friend. We love love love you Love from your friend Sokli xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
