What To Do When You’re Stuck

“You need to know things the others don’t know. It’s what no one knows about you that allows you to know yourself.”
~  Don DeLillo

This week’s energies support deep diving and moving into that space of high creativity. This kind of creativity is also a spiritual space, so it’s perfect for any kind of soul work. (If you’d like a recap of the week ahead go here )

It’s awesome energy if you already have a project or plan to work on.

But what if you don’t?

Today’s post is for those of you who are stuck, those of you for whom life just isn’t working right now, those of you who are lost.

Give yourself a good half-hour to do some investigation of your stuckness (big stuck might need more time or multiple sessions – I know this from previous experience!) and gather the following tools:

  • a journal and some pens
  • a deck of tarot or oracle cards where you really like the pictures
  • your favourite crystal or stone (optional but good)

I’d also highly recommend a cup of tea or your favourite non-alcoholic beverage, because soul work can be thirsty work, and what isn’t made better by a cup of tea?

Image by Mysterious Lass at deviantart.com

1. Start by holding your crystal if you have chosen one, and close your eyes. Allow your breathing to become calm, and let yourself relax. Then breathe in white light or draw it in through the crown chakra at the top of your head. Offer up a prayer that everything you do be for the Highest Good. Ask your Highest Self, Guides, Angels, Ancestors or God to guide you. Say or think the intention ‘Show me why I am stuck, and help me see what to do next.’

2. Open your eyes. Hold your crystal or place it beside you while you work (feel free to pick it up and hold it again if you need some energy or encouragement). Take your journal and a pen and write whatever comes, using any of the following prompts. Write your prompt into your journal and then keep writing in response to that prompt. Don’t edit yourself. Just let the words flow.

  • I’m stuck because…
  • I hate my life right now because…
  • What I really don’t like is…
  • What I really want is…
  • What do I need to tell myself right now…
  • What do I really need to know right now…
  • Who am I?
  • What do I want?
  • Where am I going?
  • What’s better for me?
  • I’d rather be doing…

3. If you’re super stuck, and nothing is coming, keep asking yourself Why? Give yourself every Why question you can think of. If you ask Why am I stuck? and then write This is stupid! ask yourself Why is this stupid? Eventually one of the Why questions will pry free all of the feelings and thoughts and answers that are stuck within you. Why are you stuck? Why can’t you do this? Why isn’t this working? Why don’t you know? Why is this a dumb exercise? Why? Why? Why?

4. You’ll end up with words on the page. Hooray! That’s the beginning of unstuckness. Go back over what you’ve written with a highlighter or a pen in another colour where you can underline key words and phrases. Highlight anything that stands out to you.

5. Now choose one of those highlighted areas to investigate further. (I told you this was a week for diving deep.) Write the words you’ve highlighted into your journal again as a new entry, Eg: My relationship with Steve. Close your eyes again, breathe deeply and bring yourself to a place of calm. Feel your energetic team and your Higher Self ready to guide you. Fill yourself with white light and really feel into that support and connection. When you’re ready open your eyes again and pick up your oracle or tarot cards. Shuffle them, thinking about your relationship with Steve. Then choose three cards. The first card shows you where you are now. The second card shows you what the issue or limitation is. The final card shows you your opportunity or outcome. Look at the first card, and really pay attention to whatever thoughts, emotions or ideas come to you, and what the imagery of the card says to you in relation to where you are now with this situation. Then write what comes to you from looking at the card. Repeat this process for the second card, looking to understand what the issues or limitations are. Now use the final card to explore what the opportunities or outcomes can be.

Be open to situations where you may now need to find a coach, mentor or qualified therapist. Sometimes we can own and understand the problem but need help framing up a solution.

Our heart knows what it wants. Our soul can guide us. All we ever need to do is make time for that questing and connection.

As you begin to get unstuck again expect more answers, more flow and a return to inspiration. You’ve got this!

Much love, Nicole ❤ xx

Chakra Journal Challenge: Week 1 – Feet Chakras

week-1-feet-chakra-1

“It was when I stopped searching for home within others and lifted the foundations of home within myself I found there were no roots more intimate than those between a mind and body that have decided to be whole.”
~ Rupi Kaur

Hello, and welcome to Week One of our Chakra Journal Challenge!

Every Tuesday in March and April I will post a Journal Challenge for you, based upon a journey through the main chakras. You don’t need to know anything about journalling, chakras, crystals, oracle cards or energy work. I’ll explain everything that you need to do each week. Then you’ll have a week to complete the simple activities I share.

If you’re only just joining us please go back and read my Orientation Post first.

About the Feet Chakras

The foot chakras are located in the soles of your foot, right about where your foot arches. The colour associated with the chakras in the feet is a rich orangey-brown colour, like terracotta.

Your feet chakras anchor you into the healing and calming energies of the earth, and help you to stay centred in your body. When your feet chakras are open and connected you’ll feel at home in yourself and at peace with the world.

I’ve added a number of activities to help you with your feet chakras, as this is one of the energy centres most blocked in people.

Weekly Structure

Each week of this nine week challenge will follow the same format:

  1. We will begin with the short guided meditation for the week, using your guidance stone. During this meditation you’ll be given a colour to work with for the week, and a word or phrase.
  2. We will choose an oracle card to give us inspiration and direction for the week ahead.
  3. We will spend ten minutes (or more if desired!) to complete our weekly journal prompt.
  4. We will give ourselves healing energy at least once this week.
  5. We will spend a few moments at the end of our day in gratitude.

Guided Meditation:

You’ll need ten minutes to listen to this short guided meditation. Feel free to hold your crystal while you meditate. When the meditation is complete, write down your power colour and your power word or phrase for the week in your journal.

Journal Prompts:

Now answer the following questions, writing as little or as much as you need:

  • What does your Power Colour mean to you? What words or ideas does it provoke? Write them down. Then use that colour to boost your energy. Shut your eyes for thirty seconds and breathe it into your body whenever you feel a bit flat or low. Wear it as clothing. Choose flowers in your colour. Eat food that colour. Be creative with it.
  • How can you use your Power Word this week? Write a few ideas, based on your word. Trust whatever comes and write it down. Don’t overthink it.

Want to go deeper with your journalling? Try these additional prompts. Write the beginning of the sentence and then keep going, using stream of consciousness. Do one or all of them. You’ll be amazed what you might discover about yourself!

  • When I connect into the energy of my foot chakras it makes me strong to think that…
  • When I connect into the energy of my foot chakras it makes me scared to think that…
  • When I connect into the energy of my foot chakras it makes me curious to think that…
  • When I connect into the energy of my foot chakras it makes me excited to think that…

Your Chakra Card For The Week:

Take your chosen oracle or tarot cards, offer up a small prayer that whatever you do be for your Highest Good, and then shuffle the deck. As you’re shuffling, ask the question ‘What wisdom do my Feet Chakras have for me this week?’ Say it out loud or hold it as a thought in your head. Either will work.

Choose one card. How you choose is up to you. Split the deck. Fan them out. Top or bottom. Dive right in. There is no right or wrong.

Now look at your card and hold your guidance stone in your non-writing hand. Really look at the card. Don’t use the book or the ‘proper’ meaning. We are being intuitive here, people! What stands out for you in the picture? What thoughts and ideas do the images provoke? Take a minute or two and write those thoughts down. I know, you might feel like you’re just making it all up. That’s okay. Write anyway. Trust that there is a part of you that is wise and that has been waiting for this chance to speak with your conscious mind.

Here’s an example of my first pages, just to give you an idea of what we’ll be doing:

2017-03-06-13-58-06

Hands On Healing:

These simple steps can help you to unblock and activate the chakras in your feet. If you are short on time, completing Step 7 is enough. But if you have a little more nurture time available to you, try the entire ritual:

  1. Take a large tub of warm water and place a number of smooth stones or tumbled crystals in the bottom.  Place your bare feet in the water and roll your feet over the stones until they feel energised. I like to use a variety of crystals that work with each of the major chakras so that I have a rainbow of colour. But I always advise you just to use what you are drawn to. Trust that your own soul knows best what it is you need.
  2. Dry your feet and then stand barefoot upon the earth. Look down at your feet and visualise the chakra in the sole of your foot spinning and opening and energetically connecting into the energy of the Earth. Really allow yourself to feel this connection.
  3. Shake the tension out of your hands, loosen your shoulders and give your body a good energetic shake out.
  4. Now raise your arms up to the sky and draw the energy of the sun and the moon and the stars down in through your hands and the top of your head.
  5. Draw the energy of the earth up through your feet. Feel strong like a well grounded tree, roots deep down into the earth.
  6. Have all of the energy meet at your heart; healing, balancing and empowering your entire body.
  7. Finally, nurture and nourish your foot chakras and help anchor that grounded energy by rubbing a few drops of pure sesame oil into the soles of your feet. Sesame oil also helps us open to abundance and to be comfortable with flow and positive manifestation. Rub your hands together and activate your hand chakras. (Need help to do that? See last week’s post here.) Direct white light energy into your feet chakras. After you begin it is absolutely fine if you feel that you want to change the colour of the energy healing you are giving yourself. When you are finished, shake out your hands, close your eyes and sit quietly for a minute or two. Empty your mind of thoughts and just ‘be’.

Working with your foot chakras is a simple act of self nurture than can give lasting benefits and improved well-being on all levels.

Practicing Gratitude:

The Gratitude Rock anchors positive energy and gratitude at the end of every day.  You can carry your stone with you, or leave it beside your bed.  At night, before you go to sleep, hold your Gratitude Rock in your hand.

gratitude-rock

As you hold the stone say to yourself: I am richly Blessed. I have an Abundance of Good in my life. Then hold in your mind one or more image of a thing you have been grateful for today. Swell that positive energy up in your heart like a beautiful golden light, and give a heart-felt Thank You, Thank You, Thank You to the Universe. Visualise a tiny shower of golden light travelling from your heart into your Gratitude Rock.

Now here’s the fun bit – imagine all of the other people who are taking part in this journalling challenge with you. Once again build up a strong positive energy in your heart, and then imagine shooting a stream of golden light out into the Universe to those people.

Say Thank you. I Bless You. I intend for you Love, Miracles and Abundance.Know that as you are saying this for them, they are also saying this for you. Feel that connection and gratitude and know that there is real love and support for you here. Place your rock back beside your bed, and go to sleep, cocooned in this good energy.

Win a Prize!

Come visit us over at facebook. If you like us and post a pic of your journal, crystal and cards this week on our facebook page or if you like and tag us in on your pic over at Instagram you’ll be in the running to win a cool crystal prize! A New Moon Guided Meditation for Our Highest Potential – December 2016

Image from Gualberto107@ www.freedigitalphotos.net

Image from Gualberto107@ www.freedigitalphotos.net

“The chief beauty about time
is that you cannot waste it in advance.
The next year, the next day, the next hour are lying ready for you,
as perfect, as unspoiled,
as if you had never wasted or misapplied
a single moment in all your life.
You can turn over a new leaf every hour
if you choose.”
~ Arnold Bennett

Today, Thursday December 29 heralds the new moon. This moon closes the door not only on 2016, but on the entire thousands-of-years-old patriarchal energetic cycle that began its conclusion in 2012. This new moon welcomes in an entirely new energetic era – one of balanced masculine and feminine energy, one of hope and compassion, one of community, connection, information and advancement. It is my belief that you have chosen to be alive at this time as we straddle two worlds, the old and the new.

Tonight’s new moon brings a powerful energy for creating positive change and manifesting your heart’s desires. It is also a great time for connecting into your own intuitive wisdom, and deepening spiritual connection.

Everything is created first in the zero-point field, that place of potent emptiness that resides as the spaces between the fabric of existence.  The New Moon is potently linked to this space of possibility, where our thoughts and intents begin to shape matter itself into our new reality.

Tonight’s new moon also offers us something extra. It’s a moon that supports us being attuned to our highest potential for this lifetime and an opportunity for us to leave the past behind and to truly embrace a positive future.

Tonight I will be holding space in my personal meditation for you as I sit with our Ancestors and Songlines crystal grid here at my farm. I will be intending that you move into your heart-space, and reconnect with your own Soul Wisdom. I will be intending that your feet find their way in 2017. That your path becomes clear. That you can more easily be yourself. That you know and express yourself truly. That you live life to your highest potential. That you are loved for who you are. That you come to know how much you are loved.

There are 2023 individually dedicated stones within my grid. If you have contacted me via my blog or social media, then your name is here.

Note: For those of you who contacted me after yesterday’s cutoff time, I am adding your name to one large crystal that will anchor energy and intention for you all.

Perform Your Own New Moon Ritual

I’ve also created a simple guided meditation and a series of rituals to help anchor your own intentions using the transformational forces of the moon as she moves from this place of darkness back into light.

You can do any or all of these simple practices, and you can do them today or any time in the next three days, up until January 1, 2017.

You’ll need this simple preparation:

  • choose a crystal or stone to hold in meditation
  • choose a  second stone or crystal to return to the earth after the meditation
  • have a glass of water ready
  • have a journal and a pen

Journal First:

Some time today, or before your meditation tonight, take your journal and write a letter to the Universe outlining what you intend to leave behind in the past.

This could be behaviours, attitudes, situations, relationships or any other thing that weighs you down or makes you feel bad within yourself.

Start with the words ‘I now release…’ and then add your list. When your letter to the Universe is finished sign it with the words ‘And it is so.” Then sign your name and add the date.

Begin again on a new page.

Sit in reflection, and then write down what you want to have, create or do, especially those things where you have previously been blocked by fear or insecurity.

Words that can be useful to help strengthen that state of creating or manifesting include the action words: claim, invoke, manifest, intend, believe, draw to me, welcome into my life, create, become, do, transform, embrace, love, adore, cherish, make, construct, transform.

Write a second letter to the Universe, beginning with the words, ‘As I step into my Highest Potential…’

Then list the things you wish to have, create or do. Be as broad or specific as feels right for you. Conclude your letter with the words. ‘I claim this and more, for my Highest Good. And it is so.’ Then sign your name and date it.

Keep your pages somewhere safe, although there is no need to read them again unless you are drawn to do so.

Standing Meditation for Clearing, Shifting and Healing your Psychic Self

This Meditation will ground you, as it opens you up to more of your own natural energetic and psychic ability.  It is very comforting for people who spend most of their day indoors, or in front of a computer.

Note: You will need your glass of water for this meditation.

  1. Find a place outside where you can comfortably stand barefoot on the skin of the earth.  If this is impossible in your climate then stand barefoot at a window or on timber floorboards. Find a place where you can do this without interruption.  It is up to you what time of the day you complete your practice.
  2. Drink half a glass of water.
  3. Then stand barefoot on the earth (or in your chosen place) with your face turned toward the sun (or the moon if you do this at night).
  4. Close your eyes.  Draw in sunlight through your heart chakra, or if it is night, draw in moonlight through your third eye.  If it’s cloudy, draw clouds and wind and rain and all those other elements into your belly via your sacral chakra (the second one up, three finger widths below your belly button. Do this for two to five minutes.  Let your body be energised, balanced and healed by the gifts of nature.
  5. When you’re finished, drink the rest of the glass of water.

Expect to feel different in the days to come.  Expect to be shown things in dreams, to become more perceptive and intuitive.  If you want to work with energy or psychic skills, expect them to become stronger and clearer.

Even if you do not want to choose a life path that is more actively spiritually and psychically connected, you will become more emotionally open, more energised, and more naturally intuitive.

Thank you, for working on your own self growth. Every time we do, it lifts the energy of Mass Consciousness.  Every time we clear and shift old energies, it makes its easier for ourselves and everyone else to become more open to our Soul Truth.

Simple Guided Meditation for Stepping Into Your Highest Potential

I’ve recorded a fifteen minute guided meditation for working with this new moon. You can use this meditation on any evening from tonight up until January 1, 2017, or on any future new moon to come to help keep you connected into this energetic support.

I’ll be starting my own meditation at 8pm AEST, if you’d like to tune in around that time, but I also love the idea of a wave of meditation across the world. Take a moment to tune into my crystal grid, and the central rose quartz stone. Send it a little love, light and positive intention. Feel that intention radiate back out into the world, amplified.

2016-12-16-17-01-50

Before you begin the meditation, make sure that you have two stones or crystals – one to keep for yourself and one to gift back to the earth.

When you’re ready, just click play:

After your meditation is concluded you may want to hold your personal crystal and journal any insights that have come during your meditation, or that come after. Use this personal crystal any time you want to quickly connect back into this awareness of your connection and highest potential. It is a great meditation and journalling aid.

In your own time take the second stone and return it to nature. As you place it on the ground, or cast it into a river, lake or ocean, visualise the stone anchoring light, truth peace and hope. See it as a small beacon of light that is rippling out the energies of Highest Potential all over the world.

See yourself in the same way.

Thank you for being part of the closing ceremonies of the old energetic era, and for being part of the positive shift for humanity.

Holding you in my intentions, prayers and meditation,

Nicole <3 xoxo

Mini-Retreat Day 2 – Connect to Your Guide

“We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.”
~ Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

We’re deep into our inner work, here at retreat. The shifts for my students and myself have already been profound, and there is so much more to come.

Yesterday we worked with the energy of our Higher Self.

Today we’ll be connecting in with a Guide, Angel or other energetic being who can help us to understand ourselves, and provide insights and answers to our current situations.

The Universe only ever speaks to us through love. Sometimes that might be tough love, as we face up to something we’ve been avoiding or some truth we didn’t want to hear. But the guidance will always be encouraging, supportive and kind. It also offers us new perspectives and an opportunity to see situations from a different angle.

Our Guides and Angels are always with us. Sometimes we may know that they are here because of a feeling of peace or enveloping love that comes over us. Some people who are quite energetically sensitive may even feel gooseflesh, the sense of a breeze or gentle touch on their skin, or have the experience of curtains moving gently or a candle flickering in a room where the windows are closed tight.

I’ve recorded a short guided meditation for you, to help you connect to one of your Guides or Angels.

Stay open after the meditation. Pay attention throughout the day. Trust the your Guide or Angel will do all they can to help you know that they are here and with you, and that they love you.

To complete today’s activity in our mini-retreat you’ll need

  • A crystal or stone you can hold comfortably in your hand (you can choose a different one to yesterday if you wish!)
  • A journal
  • Some pens and pencils
  • A deck of your favourite oracle or tarot cards that you have chosen just because you love their pictures.
  • A little time set aside just for you. The meditation requires 10 minutes and you’ll need at least another ten for journalling. If you have the luxury, allow an hour. Take more time if you have it, and are ready for a big dose of love and guidance.

Guided Meditation for Connecting with Your Spiritual Guide

To do the meditation, hold your chosen crystal, and then sit or lie comfortably, close your eyes, and follow along to the sound of my voice:

Journal and Card Activity

Hold the stone that you used in meditation while you work with your cards and journal. It will help you to maintain a strong energetic connection to your Guide or Angel.

Journal Prompts:

Use your time to explore the following questions in your journal. Write the question at the top of the page, and then close your eyes for a moment, and feel back into your connection with your Guide or Angel. Feel the incredible unconditional love, acceptance and guidance that is available to you. Then open your eyes and write your response.

*Important – make sure that when you finish writing your answer, leave space to write one more response below. Give yourself half a page or a full page if possible.

The questions to ask are:

  • How can I love myself better right now?
  • What activities will bring me joy and happiness?
  • Which relationships in my life are supportive of me?
  • Where can I best express my talents and gifts?
  • How can I improve my financial security?
  • What do I most need to know right now?

Write as much or as little as you need. You may feel like you are making it all up. That’s okay. Keep writing. Trust the process.

2015-07-25-17-30-00

Using your Oracle or Tarot Cards

When you have finished journalling, take your cards, offer up a small prayer that whatever you do be for your Highest Good, and then shuffle the deck, asking that your Guide or Angel continue to guide you.

Now go back to the first question. Read the question again, but not your first response.

Shuffle the deck again, asking your Guide or Angel What else do I need to see in relation to this question?  Choose one card. How you choose is up to you. Split the deck. Fan them out. Top or bottom. Dive right in. There is no right or wrong.

Now look at your card and hold your crystal in your non-writing hand. Really look at the card. Don’t use the book or the ‘proper’ meaning. We are being intuitive here, people! Trust the guidance of your Angel or Guide. What stands out for you in the picture? What thoughts and ideas do the images provoke? Take a minute or two and write those thoughts down. You may want to use a different coloured pen for this part. I know, you might still feel like you’re just making it all up. That’s okay. Write anyway. Trust that there is a part of you that is wise and that has been waiting for this chance to speak with your conscious mind.

If you need to, draw up to five cards to gain further insight and clarity for this situation.

Then move to the next question and repeat the process.

$_3

Gift yourself this important time of connection and reflection today, and if you can, spend some quiet time outside in nature. Silence helps us to consolidate changes and integrates the energetic shifts we are experiencing.

Tomorrow we’ll be doing more focus work and planning for our mini-retreat, so stay tuned because there is more to come.

Thinking of you all, and sending so much love to you from our retreat, Nicole xoxo

Journal Challenge Week 7 – September 13, 2015

“Whenever you want to achieve something, keep your eyes open, concentrate and make sure you know exactly what it is you want. No one can hit their target with their eyes closed.”
~ Paulo Coelho, The Devil and Miss Prym

Welcome to Week Seven of our journal challenge. If you missed the start you can go here to catch up on the tools you’ll need, and to find links to previous weeks.

This week, starting on September 13, is a time for focus. There is a need for us to work out what is wishful thinking (we talk about it all the time but never do it, because in truth our heart’s not in it), and what are the things that truly inspire a commitment from us. We are being called to choose our focus, to set our intention, and then to begin taking action.

We’ll also look at the things we really DO want, but where we are blocked from starting because we expect too much from ourselves, and can’t bear the thought of failure if we cannot make our dream fly.

To find happiness and contentment in life, to have a life that’s worth living – one that gets us up in the morning, no matter what the weather or our mood – we need to have a purpose or a goal, something to which we can commit. And then we can let our life be shaped by that passion.

Let’s go!

Weekly Structure Reminder

Each week of this nine week challenge will follow the same format:

  1. We will begin with the short guided meditation for the week, using your guidance stone. During this meditation you’ll be given a colour to work with for the week, and a word or phrase.
  2. We will choose an oracle card to give us inspiration and direction for the week ahead
  3. We will spend ten minutes (or more if desired!) to complete our weekly journal prompt.
  4. We will spend a few moments at the end of our day in gratitude.

Start Here!

1. Guided Meditation

Take your guidance stone and sit or lie quietly. Then simply follow the sound of my voice. You’ll need seven minutes.

When the meditation is complete, write down your power colour and your power word or phrase in your journal.

  • How can you use your Power Word this week? Write a few ideas, based on your word. Trust whatever comes and write it down. Don’t overthink it.
  • What does your Colour mean to you? What words or ideas does it provoke? Write them down. This week, use this colour to boost your energy. Shut your eyes for thirty seconds and breathe it into your body whenever you feel a bit flat or low. Wear it as clothing. Choose flowers in your colour. Eat food that colour. Be creative with it.

2. Oracle Card

Take your cards, offer up a small prayer that whatever you do be for your Highest Good, and then shuffle the deck. As you’re shuffling, ask the question‘What do I most need to focus on this week?’ Say it out loud or hold it as a thought in your head.

Here’s my first page for this week. My colour and power word are both an encouragement and a caution to me. Go forward, Nicole, they seem to say. Plan, dream, take action. But only do what you can manage. :

2015-09-12 13.31.13

3. Week Seven Journal Prompt

On the very back page of your journal write the words MY PROJECT. Now take a few minutes and flip through what you’ve already written in your journal in the previous weeks. Look for evidence of the project or action that is truly in your heart. You may have mentioned it more than once. You may have already underlined it as being a ‘seed’ from last week’s activity. It might be a major life decision, an activity, something health related, a course of study, or even some personal healing or self-growth.

The reason you need to choose it as your project is because thinking about it makes your heart sing. And possibly freak out a bit too.  Or worse, every time you look at it you want to cry, because it’s the BIG THING. Your major block or procrastination. The thought you might not ever do this is horrifying, but the thought of failing at it is even worse.

If you want to put it down as your project because you should finish it, or start it or do it, then scratch it off. Anything that is a should isn’t your heart’s desire. It’s actually a false god, whose head needs to be chopped off. That’s not love or passion or deep desire – that’s duty. We don’t have time for duty on our project list. Our project list is only for things that truly call to us. Things to which we know we can commit.

If there are a few, that’s okay too.

Write a description of the project, or the projects, on the last page of your journal. Here’s mine (and as you might be able to tell, I was journalling from bed this morning!):

2015-09-13 05.33.59

Now flip back to where you are working on this week’s tasks.

Answer the following questions:

  1. Write a brief (or long) description of your project.
  2. What resources do you already have, and what might you need to actually make a start on this project?
  3. When you think about this project being successfully completed, how does that make you feel?

Write as little or as much as you want.

Do this once, or write a little every day. Whatever works for you. Hold your guidance stone in your non-writing hand or place it on your lap or beside you while you write.Genuinely seek to connect with what matters to you.

Here’s my beginnings. I’m excited. There is much to explore here. But truth be told I also feel a bit sick. Because. You know. This is the BIG ONE. What if I screw it up?

Using the Gratitude Rock:

The Gratitude Rock anchors positive energy and gratitude at the end of every day.  You can carry your stone with you, or leave it beside your bed.  At night, before you go to sleep, hold your Gratitude Rock in your hand.

As you hold the stone say to yourself I am richly Blessed.

I intend for you Love, Miracles and Abundance. Know that as you are saying this for them, they are also saying this for you. Feel that connection and gratitude and know that there is real love and support for you here. Place your rock back beside your bed, and go to sleep, cocooned in this good energy.

Happy exploring through words this week! Let your Power Word and Colour guide you. Think on the wisdom you’ve taken from your oracle card. Use it all! And remember to pop over to facebook and let us know how you’re going. I always love to hear from you.

Much love, Nicole <3 xx

Journal Challenge Week 6 – September 6, 2015

“Did I offer peace today? Did I bring a smile to someone’s face? Did I say words of healing? Did I let go of my anger and resentment? Did I forgive? Did I love? These are the real questions. I must trust that the little bit of love that I sow now will bear many fruits, here in this world and the life to come.”Henri Nouwen

Welcome to Week Six of our journal challenge. Are you beginning to know yourself a little better? That’s one of the joys of journal writing. 🙂

If you missed the start you can go here to catch up on the tools you’ll need, and to find links to previous weeks.

This week, starting on September 6, is a time for sowing seeds. I’m sure that you’re familiar with the concept of reaping what you sow. When you sow kindness, love, wisdom, industrious effort, open communication and all of those other positive energies, we are told that this energy will come back to us multiplied.

Problem is, I know too many people who have sat in that helping space and the people it benefited most was others. There’s nothing wrong with that. The world can always stand more kindness, wisdom and love. But what about us? Who is going to do that for us during our lifetime? Because there comes a time when we all need support – when we all need to eat that fruit of wisdom and kindness so that we may be recharged and renewed.

This week, we are focusing on sowing those seeds for ourselves.

My colour, word and card tie in meaningfully for me this week. There is a growing sense that I need to create spaciousness in my calendar and in my life so that I can focus on my healing, and on my many projects – one by one. I had never thought of clear as a colour. But it does have an energy all its own. When I think of a clear stream of water sparkling and dancing in the sun it fills me with peace and happiness. Here’s my choices for September 6:

2015-09-05 15.04.08

Plus, oh my goodness, it’s my birthday! What an amazing thing to do to start my next rotation around the sun. I deserve a good cafe breakfast with Ben and Harry dog after this is uploaded for you all.

3. Week Six Journal Prompt

Take a few minutes, and a couple of highlighter pens or markers. Flip through what you’ve already written in the previous weeks. Look for words or ideas that excite you or that somehow make you feel stressed or sad. If you have no real reaction to something, move on. It has no purpose for you this week. Think of the things you have highlighted as weeds or seeds.

Now ask yourself the following questions, writing responses for each in your journal:

  1. What are the weeds I need to rip out or stop feeding?
  2. What are the seeds I need to plant and nurture in my life?

And there’s one last question:

3. What fruit do I want to harvest for my future self from these seeds I shall sow and nurture in the coming weeks, months and years?

Write as little or as much as you want.

Do this once, or write a little every day. Whatever works for you. Hold your guidance stone in your non-writing hand or place it on your lap or beside you while you write.Genuinely seek to connect with what matters to you.

Here’s my beginnings. Oh, those pesky self-doubt weeds. Did you have any of those too? I’m intending to do this exercise a few more times this week and then I’ll make a solid plan. Amidst naps, of course!

Journal Challenge Week 5 – August 30, 2015

“Wounding and healing are not opposites. They’re part of the same thing. It is our wounds that enable us to be compassionate with the wounds of others. It is our limitations that make us kind to the limitations of other people. It is our loneliness that helps us to find other people or to even know they’re alone with an illness. I think I have served people perfectly with parts of myself I used to be ashamed of. ”
~ Rachel Naomi Remen

Welcome to Week Five of our journal challenge. If you missed the start you can go here to catch up on the tools you’ll need, and to find links to previous weeks.

This week, starting on August 30, is supported by the energies of the glorious Supermoon in Pisces. This is the Healer’s Moon. A moon that allows healers to access energies for their own healing. A moon to help all of us find a softer, kinder space in which to relate with ourselves.

The supermoon is a powerful connector for those wanting to work more strongly with their intuition and inner knowing. That intuitive flow can facilitate all kinds of healings, transformations and breakthroughs. If you’re energetically sensitive I’m sure you’ll have been feeling this push for honesty and positive transformation in our lives.

It’s no longer enough just to survive – to keep doing what we’ve always done in ways that keep us numb, or that make us die inside a little more each day.

This week the emphasis is on beginning to honour what we need to truly live a healthy, happy and emotionally satisfying life.

Are you ready to get clearer about what that looks like?

Let’s go!

I love my oracle card this week. The words at the bottom of the card have no bearing on what has come through for me. The images evoke my memories of the Elder Elephant of Chiang Mai, one of my Aboriginal Aunties, and a burgeoning sense of hope and optimism about my future:

3. Week Five Journal Prompt

Take some small pieces of paper and write the following phrases, one for each paper:

  • My Heart
  • My Body
  • My Spirit
  • My Creativity
  • My Self Image
  • My Relationships
  • My Personal Magic
  • My Future

If there is anything else that you want to add in, go ahead and do that!

2015-08-29 17.30.36

Place the scraps of paper in a bowl or hat, or even in your lap. Breathe in your Power Word. Breathe in your Colour.  Ask for guidance in knowing what most needs healing in your life. Then draw one scrap of paper out.

Now journal about your choice. What do you need to do to help heal this aspect of yourself? Write the wisdom out that is already within you. Trust that you know what is most needed, or what your next step can be.

Write as little or as much as you want.

Do this once, or write a little every day. Whatever works for you. Choose just one, or a new one each time. Hold your guidance stone in your non-writing hand or place it on your lap or beside you while you write.Genuinely seek to connect with what matters to you.

Here’s my beginnings. I decided to draw myself at the centre of the page and then free write whatever came to me about that topic. During the week I will choose again. If a choice comes up more than once I won’t reject it. I will see it as a sign that there is more to explore about that topic:

Journal Challenge Week 3 – August 16, 2015

“In writing, you must kill your darlings.” ~ William Faulkner

Welcome to Week Three of our journal challenge. If you missed the start you can go here to catch up on the tools you’ll need, and here to do Week One’s activities.

This week, starting on August 9, holds a strong and supportive energy for killing things off! No, I don’t mean actually murdering anyone. Instead, we are being supported to step away from things that don’t work for us, especially those seductive ‘safe’ things, the ‘chasing the money but no heart in it’ things, or the things we do to please others.

In writing there is a wonderful expression known as killing your darlings. Killing your darlings is all about letting go of a character, a scene, a concept that might have been the thing that started the whole novel, but that no longer has a place now our story is done. When we kill the darling and remove them from the story our work becomes stronger, clearer and more vital. But it’s hard to do, because we are emotionally attached to our darlings. Often we had such high hopes for them.

Most of us have a few darlings hanging around. Not characters, but ideas, relationships, beliefs, behaviours and items that we cling to even as they pull us down, or under. The things that drain our energy without ever giving anything back. The things we worry that in giving up, we might lose ourselves. Truth is, the only self we will lose is the imaginary self we are attached to, that prevents us from being real, and living here and now.

You know it. The investment or decision we can’t let go of that just keeps costing us money. The guitar under our bed which we will never play, although we love the fantasy that one day we might. The pottery wheel, covered in cobwebs in the back shed.

The project we’re helping someone else with that stops us working on our own. Even though we so love the other person and they are so very grateful. The job we do for all that money, that we hate with every fibre of our being.

The too-tight, too-old or too-low-self-worth clothes we shrug into, telling ourselves we still look okay. The familiar and comforting voice in our head that tells us, one day when all these other things are done we will start. But we have to get the (insert appropriate darling here) finished/built/established first.

And then there are the darlings we tell ourselves we love, and all the while our inner five-year-old is stomping their foot and saying No, Don’t wanna! We should listen to that wise, brave clear inner child more often. They know… Give that thing the boot too!

When we kill off our darlings we are left with space, integrity and a clearer, truer direction can begin to emerge. It’s a kind of de-cluttering of our souls.

Let’s go!

This week I had a repeat of the same oracle card I chose last week. I sat with it for a while, and then saw how much the messages of the card were still relevant for me, and also how they were evolving. Once again I didn’t see the friendly face in the top right of the card until I was done writing. Oh yes, I thought to myself. Help is always there, but I so often forget to ask! Here’s how the beginning of this week’s journal looks for me:

3. Week Two Journal Prompt

This week we’re going to explore what darlings we need to let go of in our lives. Start your journal writing with this prompt and then let your heart take you where it will.

I love the idea of it, but my life would work so much better if I finally let go of….

Now try this one:

The truth is, I don’t really love…

How much you write is up to you. Do this once, or write a little every day. Whatever works for you. Hold your guidance stone in your non-writing hand or place it on your lap or beside you while you write.Genuinely seek to connect with what matters to you.

You might have big things or little things. Things you know, or that completely blindside you.

You’ll know when you’ve written enough.

I’ll show you my first page. I actually ended up writing heaps and heaps for this one:

2015-08-15 20.36.32

What you don’t see is the big lecture I gave myself on page two, about perfectionism, and my total need to kill that darling dead! I know some of you will relate. 🙂

Using the Gratitude Rock:

The Gratitude Rock anchors positive energy and gratitude at the end of every day.  You can carry your stone with you, or leave it beside your bed.  At night, before you go to sleep, hold your Gratitude Rock in your hand.

Journal Challenge Week 4 – Nuggets of Gold

“All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.”
~ J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring

Hello Lovelies, and welcome to the fourth and final week of our Journal Challenge!

If you’ve only just found us now, it’s not too late to go back and start at the beginning. That’s the beauty of journalling. It waits for us, and works with our own time-frames.

This week we’re putting on our investigative hats, and we’re digging deep into what we’ve already written. There will be gold in those words, for sure!

You’ll need a couple of extra tools this week:

1. Some coloured pens

2. A few highlighters

Before we start our final week, let’s have a quick recap of the last three weeks of journalling:

1. In Week One we called on our own insights to discover where we have held ourselves back, what worries us, and what we might do to bring more balance, healing, sustainability and joy into our lives.

and

2. In Week Two we bravely called upon the love, wisdom and strength of our Ancestors as we tackled our patterns of resentment, the excuses we use that prevent us growing and moving forward, the areas and relationships where we hold resentment, and the things in our life over which we feel shame. We then looked at how to turn all of this hurt into wisdom, helping us to reclaim the aspects of ourselves that we had shunned.

and

3. In Week Three we looked at endings and beginnings. Places where we could complete, finalise or sever. Places where we could launch, start and create new energy and momentum. We began to embrace possibility.

This week it’s all about refining our ideas, reviewing our material and coming up with a map to our riches.

Choosing a Crystal

You may wish to choose a crystal to work with for our final week. It is entirely optional, and you’d be fine without one too – but for my fellow rock lovers, read on…

You can hold this crystal as you write or meditate, place it under your pillow or beside your bed while you sleep, or carry it in your pocket to help you stay focused.

You could choose your stone based on what most appeals to you. That’s a very valid approach. But if you need a little direction, good crystals to work with this week include:

  • Amethyst
  • Fluorite
  • Any of the Calcites
  • Rose Quartz
  • Pyrite
  • Tourmaline
  • Mookaite
  • Malachite
  • Clear Quartz, with or without inclusions
  • Smoky Quartz

This week I’ve chosen a natural Amethyst point – I love the gentle energy of this one, and when I gaze into it I am reminded of clouds of jellyfish upon a purple ocean!

If you’re working with a crystal too why not tell us about it by leaving a comment below or over at our facebook page.

2014-11-16 05.24.43

Week Four Meditation:

This week’s simple meditation is about reassuring ourselves. We don’t do that enough, and it’s an important part of nurturing and caring for ourselves.

The Healing Breath Meditation

You can do this meditation anywhere, anytime. That is the beauty of it.

Sit or lie quietly somewhere. You can close your eyes or leave them open – whatever feels right for you in the moment.

Breathe in. As you breathe in affirm to yourself, “I am Love.”

Breathe out. As you breathe out affirm to yourself, “I am Enough.”

It may bring up strong emotions for you, when you first do this meditation. That’s okay. Gently stick with it.

You only need a minute or two, but if it feels right you can happily sit in this meditation for longer.

When you feel calm and stronger in yourself, smile, and remind yourself that you are okay.

Now you’re ready to write!

Journal Activity:

Take your journal and some highlighters and sit down with a tasty beverage. Somewhere quiet where you won’t be disturbed. If you’re using a crystal, hold it in your non-writing hand, or place it in your lap or pocket.

Start reading. Read in a way where you are allowing yourself to skim lightly over the words. When something gets your attention, mark it with a highlighter.

photo

What should you highlight? Anything that brings up strong emotion (including negative emotion), recurrent themes, or ideas or actions that begin to make you feel purposeful or alive.

It’s a little like panning for gold, searching for those valuable nuggets amid the stones and gravel.

Gathering the Threads Together

Over the next few days, or the next few weeks, return to those highlighted sections. Read over them, one by one, and then for each one allow yourself to ask the question:

What can I do about this?

Write the answer in your journal.

It can also be useful to do some word association. Find the one word, idea or image from the highlighted text that stands out for you. Place that word in a circle and then draw a few lines out from the circle. My word was ‘time’.

Now without giving this ANY thought (Don’t you DARE think!), use ‘stream of consciousness’ and immediately write connected words that you associate with time, or whatever your particular thing is, coming off each of the lines. NO THINKING – JUST WRITE!

2014-11-16 05.58.20

My words in relation to time were Slow Down, Make a list, Go off the clock, Prioritise, Sleep, Fun, Delegate, Stop Worrying, Holiday. I actually found that pretty useful, and it immediately pulled me out of stress and back into flow and possibility.

Because of this, I’m seriously considering taking a chunk of time in the new year just to write, create, rest and heal.

We have so much wisdom within us, if only we ever think to ask 🙂

Let your journalling evolve into a space of mapping possible solutions, answers, outcomes or adventures.

Trust the process. Be an explorer in your own life, your own mind, your own subconscious.

Use this new clarity to begin to put a plan together for the year ahead. This way you’ll begin 2015 with a clearer idea of what you want to move away from, and what you want to move towards.

It’s your life, and you’re the Captain of your own ship. It’s time to plot a course through life that works for you. Bless xx

Journal Challenge Week 2 – Lightbulbs and Lightning Strikes

Image from Dan's Data

Image from Dan’s Data

“SOWING LIGHTNING

Seize
Bolts of lightning from the sky
And plant them in fields of life.

They will grow like tender sprouts of fire.
Charge somber thoughts
With unexpected flash,
You, my lightning in the soil!”
~ Visar Zhiti, The Condemned Apple: Selected Poetry

Hello, my Lovelies, and welcome to Week 2 of our Journal Challenge!

If you’ve only just found us now, it’s not too late to go back and start at the beginning. That’s the beauty of journalling. It waits for us, and works with our own time-frames.

I suppose you’ve heard about Lightbulb Moments. You know, that instant where the light comes on and you truly UNDERSTAND something for the first time. ‘Ah,’ you say, perhaps a little excitedly, ‘I get it!’

There’s another kind of awareness that can hit us too. It’s painful. It’s abrupt. It’s super-charged and the sting is so shocking that the memory is somehow imprinted into you at a cellular level. ‘Holy Shit!’ you manage to choke out, if indeed you can find any words at all. That ain’t no Lightbulb Moment, honey. That’s a Lightning Strike!

Some of our most powerful insights and guiding direction comes in the form of Lightbulb Moments and Lightning Strikes. This week we’re opening ourselves to reconnecting to the wisdom we’ve already received, as well as inviting more of these moments into our lives.

Are you ready? Courage, my dears.

Let’s Begin!

Choosing a Crystal

You may wish to choose a crystal to work with this week.

  • Citrine
  • Clear Quartz of any kind
  • Emerald
  • Amethyst
  • Labradorite
  • Orange or golden calcite
  • Black Tourmaline
  • Hematite
  • Jade

This week I’m using a rather comforting Labradorite that fits perfectly into my hand. Feel free to let us know what kind of crystal you choose by leaving a comment below or over at our facebook page.

Week Two Meditation:

There is so much wisdom already inside you. It stretches back through your family tree, and through your past lives. This week, before you begin to reflect on and journal your exploratory questions, take a minute or two to perform this simple meditation.

Ancestor Activation Technique

Before you begin writing, sit or lie quietly. One by one, raise your palms and look into them, seeing all the lines and contours. Know that your entire family lineage is held within these hands, and that your hands link you back through time to loved ones who still watch over you and guide you. It doesn’t matter if you don’t know or feel connected to your family, or if you don’t know your family history. It doesn’t matter if the family you are born into is a family with whom you don’t resonate. Family is bigger than that. It goes back so much further than you might know. These bonds anchor us in a love far beyond our conscious understanding. We reincarnate into our family tree over and over again. None of us is ever alone. We are always well loved, although we may not always understand this.

If you are using a stone, cup your crystal in one hand and then place your other hand over the top. Rest your hands comfortably in your lap. If you’re not using a crystal, place your hands palm down on your belly.

Visualise a rainbow in your crystal, or if you are just using your hands, visualise a rainbow in the palms of your hands. Breathe in to activate your hands and let that rainbow of colour expand, flowing out into your aura and into your body on each outbreath. Close your eyes if it feels comfortable to do so.

Now in your mind offer up a prayer to your Ancestors. Ask them for guidance and help. Ask them to flow wisdom and opportunity to you. Say anything else that feels right for you.

Then sit in this energy a little longer and be open to any thoughts, images or ideas that come.

Finally, take six breaths deep into your belly, letting your body relax completely.

Now you’re ready to write!

Journal Questions:

You can choose any or all of the questions below. Some will be asked as traditional questions, and some are sentences that give you a place to start by leaving a space for you to complete that sentence.

I suggest going with what resonates and repels for a good balance. Write as much or as little as you need. It could be three words or three pages. Spread it out over a week, or spend a solid hour or two over one day – it’s up to you! If you’re in flow, keep going and see where it takes you. Be brave here, sweethearts. Pry open those tightly closed doors. Fling open the windows and let the light in. We can’t operate in darkness. Healing needs air and sunlight.

You can also write over more than one sitting, even beyond this current journal challenge, taking yourself deeper and clearer each time you come back to that question. Trust that more will be revealed as your own wholeness is revealed.

If you’re using a crystal, hold it in your non-writing hand, or place it in your lap or pocket. Feel free to get yourself a beverage, or to sit in a coffee shop while you do this. Enjoy the process!

2012-06-04 11.06.04

This week we’re bravely peeling back the layers, seeking to own all the parts of us. Including those things we have pushed away, rejected, been shamed for, or that give us embarrassment or pain. I’ve grouped the questions together for a reason.

If you don’t know how to answer something, ask yourself again, and then wait.

Still nothing?

Ask again and wait some more. Then ask – What am I afraid of here? Bravely wait for the answer, and then ask yourself the question again, knowing that your fears cannot harm you.

Also ask yourself this, if it feels right: Is this a family pattern? How might I break this pattern, so that Ancestral Patterning stops with me?

Self-Sabotage:

  1. What is my most insidious (subtle and sneaky) self-sabotaging behaviour?
  2. What is my most overt (obvious and visible) self-sabotaging behaviour?
  3. Why did I start this behaviour? Who did I pattern it (copy or learn it) from?
  4. What are the benefits of this sabotaging behaviour? How does it keep me ‘safe’?
  5. What would happen in my life if I gradually replaced this behaviour with one that genuinely supported and sustained me?
  6. What positive behaviours could I choose?
  7. How does this knowledge make me feel? Why?

Resentment:

  1. The people I resent most are…
  2. The reasons I resent them are…
  3. It’s so unfair for me because…
  4. I’m so worried that I’ll never get time to…
  5. I hate that I’m always the one who has to…
  6. What do I resent that others tell me about myself, or expect me to be?
  7. The thing putting me under all this stress is…

Excuses, excuses:

  1. What do I tell myself that keeps me small?
  2. Who else do I know who behaves like that?
  3. What virtuous or ‘good’ patterns or behaviours do I use to avoid dealing with my own stuff?
  4. What am I so afraid of here?
  5. What am I stopping myself from doing?

Oh, the Shame!:

  1. The incident I am most ashamed about is…
  2. The thing I still hate to have people bring up about me is…
  3. The thing I still feel most guilty about is…
  4. The most embarrassed I’ve ever been is…
  5. I feel such a failure because…
  6. I could never be that thing I so desire to be, because…
  7. The one thing I wish I could erase from my life is…
  8. The powerful and painful learning burned into my brain like a Lightning Strike about this is…
  9. I could reframe that learning into something good and wise by seeing it this way…

And now for some healing and expanding life energy. Be informed by the writing you have done with your exploratory questions. Choose one or do them all. Let yourself step into the energy of possibility and growth. Let your own inner knowing be a healing force of good in your life. Write at least a paragraph. Be detailed and specific where you can.Turn pain and suffering into wisdom. Let yourself be lit up with Lightbulb Moments and Lightning Strikes.

If you’re uncomfortable, then write it as a wise fairy-tale that might be good advice for someone else.

1. The lesson my self-sabotaging behaviour teaches me is…

2. As I embrace this lesson, with love and compassion for myself, I can see my life becoming…

3. My resentment is a powerful voice inside me showing me what’s truly important to my heart and soul. This resentment has taught me that what matters is…

4. I will overcome or deal with my fear by…

5. These painful things have taught me some beautiful lessons about myself. I can now become wiser, kinder, more uplifted and more inspired because I understand that…

6. The parts of myself that I lovingly reclaim are…

Do pop over to our facebook page this week. There will be some rune guidance for you. I’ll be giving away some lovely surprises and there will also be an online party next weekend where I’ll be available to answer your questions and have some fun!

I have so much faith in you. We have a big year ahead in 2015 – full of opportunity and possibility – and I know you’ll be well positioned to make the most of it by doing all of this self-work!

Big hugs to you and lots of love, Nicole xx
