How To Charge Your Crystals Tonight!

Tonight, May 29 2018, is a full moon.

Ordinarily, I’d suggest that you place your crystals out on the earth to be charged up by the energy of the moon and by the grounding and cleansing effect of the stones being in contact with the earth. But right now our world is being bombarded by positive ions from the numerous solar flares that the sun is emitting. These particles fall to Earth and render the crust of the planet positively charged instead of the usual negative ionic field. That means your crystals won’t be able to be effectively grounded and cleared, although they will still be able to be charged by the moon.

So, what can you do?

It’s the perfect time to place Celestite, Angelite, Apophyllite, Smoky Quartz, Amethyst or Clear Quartz stones on the Earth. Cleanse them first by smudging them or using sound (such as a Tibetan Bell or Bowl).

Then place the stones directly in contact with the ground. The stones will gain a strong charge that will promote psychic attunement and growth, but they will lack any grounding energies. Leave out overnight. These stones can then be used by you in meditation to more easily connect energetically to your Higher Self, Guides and Angels. They will also be incredible stones for working with your dreams. Wrap the stones in a dark cloth when not in use.

If you want to be able to ground and cleanse your other crystals tonight don’t place them directly on the earth. Instead take a timber, clay or ceramic bowl (don’t use plastic, glass or metal) from your kitchen and line the bottom of the bowl with dried rice and then place the stones on top of the rice.

The rice still holds a negative charge and the energies of earthing.  Put the bowl outside on a bench or other elevated position so that is not in contact with the ground. Leave overnight as usual. When you bring the stones back inside discard the rice.

Feeling Tired Or A Bit Emotionally Wobbly?

How are you feeling, lovelies? Are you travelling okay?

It’s rather a fierce week, this week. And so was the week we’ve just had. Lots of solar flares, and a few polar shifts thrown in.

All this astrological and ecological phenomena can be quite disturbing for sensitive and empathic people. What makes us sensitive – that ability to feel and sense energies and information that might not be so readily apparent to others – is also the thing that can make us more vulnerable to influence by the energetic shifts and changes of our solar system.

We may experience a sudden draining of our energy, feel heavy and fatigued, or ache as though we are coming down with the flu. We may find that we feel depressed or anxious for no reason, or that our sleep patterns are disrupted. We may feel unbalanced, not quite in our body, suffer from headaches or fuzzy thinking, or be irrational, teary, angry or upset – once again with no apparent cause.  We may become highly over-sensitive – to foods, people, weather, noise and light. We might decide that our ideas suck, that we suck, that the whole situation sucks…

But lovelies, it’s a phase and that phase will pass. Right now the solar flares are making the earth’s crust charged with positive ions rather than the usual negative ones. That makes it hard for us to ground. We become like sleep-deprived toddlers, incapable of clear thought or reason as all of the positive charged ions we naturally build up in us by thinking, living and interacting with computers and electrical devices suddenly has no good way to clear our system.

There are several practical things you can do to ride out the energies of this week (which finish up in the early hours of Friday – thank goodness!):

  • standing or soaking in water will help – so think baths or foot soaks with a handful of sea salt or epsom salts, or a swim or paddle in the closest river, ocean or lake.
  • staying well hydrated, especially with electrolytes
  • using magnesium orally or topically
  • good crystals to wear or carry include hematite, red jasper and black tourmaline
  • for emotional distress use carnelian and moonstone
  • eat lots of grounding root vegetables, such as potato, onions, garlic, radish, sweet potato, carrots, beetroot, turnips and parsnips
  • set clear boundaries and avoid situations and people who tax or distress you
  • essential oils will also help; geranium for emotional comfort and clarity, frankincense for energetic connection and to stabilise your intuitive abilities and sensitivities, lavender as a soother for frazzlement – I also love Young Living’s Peace and Calming blend at times like these, to ease me into sleep and keep me rested
  • avoiding an excess of sugar and caffeine

The good news? It’s a powerful week for honouring our instincts and getting clear about what matters to us. This week trust your instincts and let them guide you – above using your mind (which may be fried!) or your intuition (which is a combination of heart and mind – cos mind fried!). You’ll find that living instinctively brings you great clarity and direction. In fact, if you tap into your instinctive energy this week you’ll find that you can reach those breakthroughs that you’ve been seeking and not finding using all your other usual methods.

Above all, be kind to yourself this week. Live gently and sustainably if you are feeling a little wobbly, and know that this will pass. It’s not you. You’re not going crazy. Dear Empaths and Intuitives, Go Gently Right Now!

Hello, lovely friends.

Empaths and intuitives everywhere will be feeling more tired and emotionally open (read fragile, emotionally hypersensitive, exhausted and possibly moody or broken) right now.

It’s not your fault. There’s nothing wrong with you. You’re just born more energetically sensitive than most. And there are factors at play which are ramping up those sensitivities more than usual.

The earth is currently experiencing high solar winds, seismic activity and solar flares. This bombards the earth with positive ions, making it hard for us to ground. The earth’s crust temporarily holds a positive charge rather than a negative one. This is a big deal for sensitive people.

Part of the way that intuitives, sensitives and empaths process information is through the aura (the energy field that sits around your body). You actually bring the emotional and thought-form energy projections of others right into your personal space in the form of positive ions emitted by the other person’s intellectual and emotional processes. Some of this is conscious as you ‘invite’ people to be close and share with you. Some of it is unconscious.

When we’re tired it becomes a more serious problem because we become more ‘open’ and can unwittingly be bombarded by the energies of others.

Usually we can ground into the negative crust of the earth and the build-up of positive ions is then discharged, but with all of the current solar flare activity this is impossible. Without the ability to clear these energies easily we end up processing them as if they were our own – usually during sleep. So then we wake up exhausted after having been hard at work all night!

On top of all of this we are also travelling through the tail-end of the Ursid meteor shower, and those energies will peak today. This meteor shower might not look very impressive in the sky, but microscopic particles of meteor debris are impacting the earth and will be for the next few weeks.

Meteor showers and dust ramp up psychic and emotional sensitivities in humans and animals. It’s a bit like how a sudden cold wind will raise goosebumps on your skin – meteor dust with its unusual electrical charge seems to raise the ‘psychic antennae’ in us. Petrified wood, jaspers, carnelians and hematite will all help to calm that energy down, and placing them in your pets’ bedding or water bowls will also help. You can also wear or hold black tourmaline or turquoise.

Lavender, cedarwood and frankincense essential oils will calm your limbic system and help you feel more calm and settled.

Of course, it’s also Christmas, a time when we are expected to be more social and to mix with family and friends who might trigger us at the best of times…

What to do?

Put yourself first. Tune in and see what your energy level and coping ability is like before committing to invitations and obligations.

Rest. Withdraw. Go quietly. Surround yourself with people who support you or don’t demand from you. Know that it’s okay to say no.

Avoid noisy and crowded spaces if you are already feeling exhausted and overwhelmed. No choice but to be in that space? Wear or carry a supportive crystal to help shield your aura – choose intuitively from your own collection or pick from amethyst, smoky quartz, lepidolite, black tourmaline, carnelian, sugilite hematite, pearls, turquoise, tiger eye and larimar.

Know that it’s okay to honour your own needs. Come home when you need to. Move into a quieter space or another room if you need to.

Manage sensitive kids and teenagers with awareness for their sensitivities right now. Help them to make sound choices around their sensitivities and listen to them when they say they can’t do something or can’t go somewhere. Support them and support yourself.

 

There are some blessings with the current energies. It’s a great time for all forms of planning, self-awareness, creative work, meditation and spiritual connection. Use your hypersensitivity in positive ways and see it for the gift that it is.

Emergency Crystal Help for Solar Flare Energies

Have you been feeling it? Right now the earth is being bombarded by gazillions ( a technical term, I know…) of highly positively charged particles emitted from the sun during an unusual burst of solar flare activity. It affects the negative ionic charge of our planet’s crust, causing it to hold a positive charge and making it impossible for us to earth ourselves. Animals (including humans) can feel restless, unwell for no good reason, depressed or anxious, listless, confused or have trouble sleeping.

The effects of this recent solar flare activity will last about two weeks.

Here are some suggestions for grounding yourselves and bringing your body back into electromagnetic balance.

 

Tired, flat battery, unwell? Use this remedy:

Your symptoms may include physical fatigue, nausea, aches and pains, mental exhaustion, despair, brain fog, depression, anxiety, worry, confusion etc. Find a clear quartz, carnelian and hematite crystal. Cleanse and charge them by holding them in your hand and visualising white light pouring into them. Place them in your pocket or under your pillow while you sleep.

Wired, hyperactive, and ungrounded? Use this remedy:

Your symptoms may include hyperactivity, brittleness, tired but wired, over-enthusiasm, mania, that feeling of going too fast, not being able to sit still or to settle down and concentrate, being ungrounded and not quite yourself, too many ideas but can’t commit to anything etc. Find a black tourmaline and a nice earthy jasper (go with what you are drawn to – there are so many lovely jaspers to choose from!) Once again, cleanse and charge them by holding them in your hand and visualising white light pouring into them. Place them in your pocket or under your pillow while you sleep.

Note: Don’t place your crystals on the ground, in the sun, or in water right now. Wait for the solar flare to pass. Charge and energise them with sound or white light instead.

Helpful foods:

There are certain foods that will help to ground and energetically reorient your body. Iodine (from seaweed or as a supplement), a mineralised natural salt (like Himalayan or celtic), lots of water, root vegetables, cooked greens, butter and other good fats such as eggs and avocados, soups and stews made with bones, well soaked and cooked legumes and rice, heavy breads and sourdoughs. Tea is also good, and you may well need extra magnesium as a supplement to soothe those frazzled nerves..

Avoid coffee, sugar and stimulants, refined and processed foods, cold and raw foods and fruits unless the fruit is stewed or served with something heavy such as cream.

Be gentle with yourself. This is not all in your head, and energetically sensitive people are particularly susceptible to the more uncomfortable aspects of solar flares.

Useful Essential Oils:

Vetiver Oil on soles of feet for grounding.

Cedarwood Oil on soles of feet and back of neck to ground and to ease emotional distress. Will also help with insomnia.

Lavender Oil on temples, throat, wrists and soles of feet to soothe and calm you, and for emotional support.

Frankincense on Crown Chakra, Third Eye Chakra and back of neck for strong psychic connection and insights during this  time of energetic flux.

Emergency Help for Grounding Yourself and Opening your Feet Chakras

You may be aware that the Earth has experienced some fairly intensive geomagnetic storms and solar flares just recently.

The energy of those storms has passed, but there is still an energetic residue that we are dealing with, the effects of which may last a couple more weeks.

Most people are feeling an easing, and a softening. They are feeling more balanced and hopeful. But a few sensitive souls seem to be still stuck in their heads. They might be feeling not quite in their bodies or not quite grounded.

And there’s a good reason for that.

Geomagnetic storms bombard the earth’s atmosphere with electrically charged electrons and protons, creating positively charged ions. These tiny particles interact with the earth’s crust, which is usually negatively charged, and when the bombardment is intense the skin of the earth may end up with a neutral or positive charge for a short time.

What does that mean for you? You may find it hard to ground yourself to the earth right now. Energy that would normally be discharged through your feet instead stays within the body, going round and round in a feedback loop. That will change as the polarity and charge of the ground reverts to normal, but I have a few tips to help you manage until then.

When your feet chakras are blocked it puts additional stress on your liver and digestive system, making it harder for your body to detox and heal. It can also make you overly sensitive to caffeine and alcohol, and foods you would not normally react too, as these substances take so much longer to transit and exit your body. You can also have digestive issues, bloating, rising tension and become so emotionally over-stimulated so that you move into hyper-sensitivity.

Here are my top eight suggestions to open and clear those feet chakras, leaving you balanced and grounded:

  1. Massage sesame oil into your feet for a few minutes before you go to bed. This helps to drain all of that spinning energy down into your feet, and the out through your foot chakras. It will also promote a more restful night’s sleep. Rubbing firmly (not so it hurts!) over the top of the foot eases tension in the mind, chest and throat. As you press from the little toe down to the heel you release tension along your shoulders and arms. Gentle sliding pressure on your instep releases energy in the spine. When you work the heel you release tension in the belly. Finally, rub the instep in a circular motion to open and drain the foot chakra. Apply a little extra oil if it is needed, as it will absorb into the skin of your feet.
  2. Sesame oil with a few drops of cedarwood and frankincense essential oils – If you’re feeling disconnected from your intuition and emotions, this blend rubbed into the soles of both feet with help you to release and open the foot chakras and reconnect you to your heart and higher self
  3. Sesame oil with a drop or two of vetiver – If you’re experiencing anxiety, panic or a sense of discomfort you can’t put your finger one, this blend rubbed into the soles of your feet will open your foot chakras and desensitize your overwrought nervous system so that you come back into balance.
  4. Coconut oil with ylang ylang – Feel like you’ve been hit by a Mack Truck? Coconut oil and ylang ylang work to counter anger, stress, frustration, exhaustion and will gently restore confidence and a sense of inner peace.
  5. Black tourmaline – This is a fabulous crystal to carry in your pocket, to hold in your hands, or to grid around your bed when the energies are unsettled. It firmly connects you back into your body and grounds you into the earth, giving a sense of safety and protection. Soak a black tourmaline in your sesame oil? Fantastic!!!
  6. Hematite – Rub a tumbled hematite over the soles of your feet and foot chakras, finishing with that circular motion over the chakras in your soles. Hematite will open and clear the foot chakras like pulling the plug out from a bathtub of water. This is a great one to use during the day, and can be done at work. Terrific if you spend a lot of time in front of a computer.
  7. Epsom Salts and Crystal Foot Soak – Fill a small tub with warm water, a few tumbled stones, and up to a cup of Epsom Salts (pure magnesium crystals). Place your feet in the tub and use the stones to give the underside of your feet a gentle massage. This will release your feet chakras and give your body a hit of that calming mineral – magnesium. Perfect for soothing a frazzled nervous system, cleansing your aura and realigning all your chakras. Feel free to add essential oil to your foot soak, and to follow with a sesame oil rub for some deep self-care.
  8. Stand barefoot in a river, stream or ocean for at least five minutes. Press and gently rub your feet on the bottom to open and activate your feet chakras. Moving water maintains a negative charge. Perfect for what you need right now.

Navigating The Energies of March 2015

I’m sure you’ve been noticing it, these intense energies of the last few weeks. The energies are astrological and are caused by planet positioning,  the super moon, eclipses, solar flares and storms, and geomagnetic disturbances here on the earth with earthquakes, flooding and cyclones/hurricanes. These energies affect us physically, and sometimes mentally, emotionally or spiritually.

For some people this has manifested as a crushing fatigue coupled with an inability to sleep deeply or well, to the point where they wonder if they have succumbed to some terrible as-yet-undiagnosed disease.

For many there has been an increase in anxiety, sadness for no reason, digestive disturbances, jitteriness, short-term memory loss, headaches, migraines, foggy thinking, dizziness, heart palpitations, shakiness, balance and co-ordination issues, heartburn and tummy upsets.

Some people have found themselves angry, rageful, frustrated and bitter with a sudden resentment. They are fighting with their loved ones. They feel hopeless and worthless and like everything they do is crap, or will amount to nothing.

Some folk are fearful, worried that tragedy is around every corner, is stalking their families, is a heartbeat away from destroying everything they hold dear. They fear that they will be rejected, abandoned, and ostracised.

And then there’s this weird feedback loop. All the things we’d thought we’d dealt with seem to be suddenly coming back and staring us in the face again. Taunting us. Mocking us. Making us fear that we are sliding back into a hole that took us a long time to crawl out of. Sometimes we see these broken or unbalanced parts of ourselves when we look in the mirror. Sometimes our loves ones mirror them back to us in a way where we realise that what they are showing us is really as much about ourselves as it is about them.

At times recently it has felt as if every good thing we told ourselves that was possible, or that others told us was possible, was a handful of dust and lies.

And then the past few days… The past few days have been brutal. Especially if you’re a sensitive soul. We’ve had a massive increase in solar flare activity and electromagnetic disturbances which have impacted many of us on many levels. Some of us have been almost on our knees with the energy of it all.

But take a deep breath.

It’s passing.

Some of you will already feel a little lighter. Things will begin to feel more hopeful. You’ll find yourself with energy again, and clarity will return.

What we’re experiencing is not just solar flares and a geomagnetic storm – it’s also a big energetic shift, and the shockwaves of that shift are rippling though us, stirring up the dust in our corners and the fears and pains trapped in the lower vibration of our being.

It’s okay.

Keep breathing.

Let it go.

It’s up to you. You can ride it out, and it will pass. For some people, that will be enough.

For those of you who feel called to self-discovery, this can be a time of massive insight and breakthrough.

Know that facing and exploring things which cause you pain or that hold painful memories will allow you to find the key that unlocks the door to a deeper level of yourself. As you shed a little light in those dusty corners of your soul you’ll be able to call back those broken, rejected and abandoned parts of yourself. This in turn allows reintegration so that you can step more fully into your power; the power that comes from being self-aware. This in turn leads to greater self-acceptance, and self-love.

No matter what path you choose, journalling, sitting quietly in reflection, doing things that bring you joy or that relax you, spending time in nature, all of those will be useful activities right now.

Further tools for support:

Nutrition – drink plenty of water and up your magnesium intake. Listen to your intuition around food choices, and steer clear of sugar and too much caffeine. Give your nervous system a break.

Crystals – For anger issues – red jasper. For gaining clarity – clear quartz. For fear – hematite. For feelings of abandonment and lack of love – rose quartz. If you’re freaking out about money and financial security – citrine. You can hold the stone, pop it in a pocket, wear it as jewelry, or place it under your pillow. These stones will also work well for pets or children – just place crystals in sleeping area or under bedding.

Essential Oils – Lavender is an excellent all-rounder right now. I am also loving Young Living’s Peace and Calming Blend  (perfect for pets and kids too!). Cedarwood oil rubbed onto soles of feet and back of neck will help with grounding you and promoting restful sleep – and is awesome when used in conjunction with Lavender. Frankincense is another useful one for tuning in to a stronger spiritual and intuitive connection. A Powerful Time for Clearing and Change!

How have you been feeling, this past week or so? Not quite yourself? A little out of sorts? Take the poll below and see if any of this resonates for you – you might not have felt like this continuously (indeed, I hope you haven’t!), but if anything sounds familiar then tick the box!

Maybe you’ve noticed some of the events unfolding in this last week or so, including major solar flares, big full moon, and the discovery of what’s known as the god-particle.

We’re in the middle of incredible energetic flux right now. Sensitive souls will really be feeling it – but you signed up for this, so it’s time to start using this powerful energy of shift to create change. After all, isn’t that what 2012 is all about?

Over the next few months we have an incredible Universal Energy assisting us to  deal with clearing family patterns, ancestral patterns and our own patterns of thought, behaviour – even generational medical conditions that no longer serve us.

By working on your own patterns and emotions you will also be contributing to clearing them for your family line – both above (mothers, fathers, grandparents, great-grandparents etc) and below you (children, grandchildren etc).

You can do this yourself through prayer and meditation, reiki and other modalities you are comfortable with, but it’s also a great idea to seek out skilled healers and practitioners to assist you with your clearing and healing.  These might include natural health care providers, doctors, psychologists, counsellors, body workers and massage therapists, spiritual healers and intuitive and psychic counsellors or whatever else you are drawn to.  Remember that many souls have incarnated at this time expressly to help with this great change and unfolding.  You might well be one of them!

I know the energy might not feel all that great while we’re going through these shifts, but trust that the outcomes will be positive. Hold an intention for the Highest Good, for yourself and others.

What else can you do right now?

Crystals will be a great addition to your toolkit. (Some information on how to work with crystals here.)  Black tourmaline, snowflake obsidian and jasper will help keep you grounded. Citrine and turquoise will clear your head. Rose quartz will nourish your heart. Carnelian, Bloodstone and Hematite will strengthen and protect your physical body. Amethyst, clear quartz, sugalite and charoite will help with psychic connection.

Spend some time in nature. Our planet has a great capacity to nurture, ground and heal us. Unplug from the digital world for a while, and reconnect with your humanity.

This is also a great time for an outpouring of creativity, for sudden clarity about your direction with career and relationships. Don’t be surprised to find that as things clear, life starts to rocket ahead for you in all sorts of wonderful ways, enhanced with much synchronicity and beautiful new connections.

One thing that sensitive souls will be noticing right now is how all of this astrological shift and change can affect us. What makes us sensitive – that ability to feel and sense energies and information that might not be so readily apparent to others – is also the thing that can make us more vulnerable to astrological and energetic phenomena.  We are more influenced by the energetic shifts and changes, and can be affected in a number of ways, not all of them pleasant.

We may experience a sudden draining of our energy, feel heavy and fatigued, or ache as though we are coming down with the flu.  We may find that we feel depressed or anxious for no reason, or that our sleep patterns are disrupted.  We may feel unbalanced, not quite in our body, suffer from headaches or fuzzy thinking, or be irrational, teary, angry or upset – once again with no apparent cause.  We may become highly over-sensitive – to foods, people, weather, noise and light.

It will always pass.  But when you feel this way, check things out.  Is there something happening with the planets or sun? Are we experiencing geological shifts within our own planet? Are you in close proximity to a lot of electromagnetic energy?

What to do when you’re affected:

If you’re feeling light, vague, airy, disconnected, anxious, fretful or scattered then do what you can to ground:

  • favour foods that are dense; such as grains, root vegetables, dairy, meat and eggs
  • eat larger portions, less often (no less than three meals a day though!)
  • take a powdered magnesium supplement
  • avoid sugar and stimulants such as caffeine
  • spend time in nature – sit, stand or lie on the ground, barefoot if possible
  • rest
  • avoid crowds, wind, lots of noise, and places that are busy or frenzied
  • choose and wear or hold grounding crystals such as jasper, garnet, hematite, pyrite, howlite, bloodstone, sodalite, dessert rose, tourmaline, tiger eye or tiger iron

If you’re feeling exhausted, angry, disoriented, achy, drained, depressed and flat you need to raise your vibration.  Things that help with this include:

  • eating a predominantly plant based diet, and eating lightly and often
  • consume fresh juices that favour a combination of fruits and vegetables (at room temperature)
  • get moving – some yoga, tai chi, qigung or walking will help
  • rest
  • drink plenty of water and herbal teas
  • take a powdered magnesium supplement
  • keep warm, or find ways to generate warmth within your body
  • avoid cold foods, including ice-cream, dairy and cold milks such as soy
  • avoid the news, and things/people/places that are likely to upset or depress you
  • favour crystals that uplift our energy, such as rose quartz, amethyst, smoky quartz, clear quartz, citrine, agates, jade, aventurine, fluorite, carnelian and amber
