September Stones – A new competition for you!

“When you leave a beautiful place, you carry it with you wherever you go.” ~ Alexandra Stoddard

Every day in September I am meditating with these two stones.

The stones are intended to be held, one in each hand, as you sit in meditation. I’ll be giving these stones away, as well as recording a personalised guided meditation for the winner!

As I hold these stones in my hand each day for the month of September I meditate with the intent that they will hold energies in a way that can be transferred to the user.

The first stone is Morion, from the wild West Coast of Tasmania. It is this month’s Anchoring Stone and its energies help us to stay grounded, clear and calm, connecting into our bodies, and to the earth and nature.

Morion is a very dark form of Smoky Quartz – the crystal is so dark that it is almost black. It helps us to feel safe in ourselves, safe in our bodies, emotionally stable and deeply grounded. It pulls our scattered energy back to us, helping us to become strong and clear.

My intention is that this stone will help you to clear deep-seated grief and sadness, allowing your heart to open and heal. It’s a powerful stone for connecting with the energies of the earth, trees, stars and the moon. It promotes intuition, imagination and story-telling ability.

The second stone is the Connection Stone, and this one is a Ruby in Fuchsite. Connection stones connect us to Universal energy, as well as to Angels, Guides, Ancestors and our own wise soul energy.

This stone feels like a magical garden or a lake full of waterlillies. Just holding it is reassuring and it quickly centers you into your heart.

My intention in my meditation with this stone is that it provides a restful energy in your life that promotes emotional contentment, inner peace and heart connection. It’s a stone for love, happiness and knowing what you want in the world.

Isn’t it lovely!

When you hold these stones in your own meditation it will help to take you to a happy place – one that is restful, restorative and that will help you connect into personal clarity and inner harmony and peace.

We all need more time in our happy place, and these meditation stones will take you there!

What’s your happy place? Is it a real place, or a place you go to in your head? Do you have more than one? What happens to you when you are in that place? Let us know for a chance to win these stones!

Instructions on how to win these stones:

Do one of any of the following;

  1. Write a comment on this post telling us what your happy place is
  2. Post a comment on our facebook page, telling us what your happy place is or posting an image of that place

  4. Post a picture on Instagram with the hashtag #CandChappyplace

This competition closes on September 30th at 8pm Brisbane time, and I’ll announce the winner on October 3.

Biggest love and hugs to all of you, Nicole   xoxo

Our August Meditation Stones Winner

“Heaven is under our feet as well as over our heads.”

I was moved to tears by many of your entries into the August competition. Thank you for trusting me with your stories and your sharings.

After much deliberation, the winner of the August Meditation Stones and personalised meditation giveaway is…

Congratulations, Danne! Can you please contact Chelsi at with your contact details? I’ll need to touch base with you so that I can create your very own guided meditation to use with the stones.

And Jo, who won July’s stones – know that your two stones have been programmed just for you and are sitting in a grid for just a few more days before we pack them up and send them off to you.

Meanwhile I have chosen two more beautiful meditation stones for September. You use both stones together, and as part of the month’s prize I will again record a personal guided meditation just for the winner! I’ll give you details about these September stones and how to win them on Thursday September 7.

I want you to know that I’ve added all of the August competition participants to my daily healing meditations and said a prayer for each of you.

I’ll be giving away a set of stones every month between now and December, so there are still more chances for you to win.

Win Our August Meditation Crystals!

“It is more important to go slow and gain the lessons you need along the journey then to rush the process and arrive at your destination empty.”
~  Germany Kent

All this month I have been very busy meditating with two carefully chosen meditation stones – an Anchoring Stone and a Connection Stone. These pairs are also known as ‘Mother Earth Father Sky’ stones. The stones work together, and are both held as you meditate – one in each hand.

As I meditate with these stones each day for the month of August I work with the intent that they will hold energies in a way that can be transferred to the user. As part of the month’s prize I will record a personal guided meditation to accompany the stones so that you can be sure how to use them.

Let me introduce the stones to you.

The first stone is petrified wood from Longreach. My maternal grandfather was born at Longreach, and it’s a very important place to me. It’s a place of wide open skies, sunshine, fresh air and that feeling of timelessness and ancient grounded energy. I found this crystal on one of my early morning walks. It is this month’s Anchoring Stone – anchoring stones help us to stay grounded, clear and calm, connecting into our bodies, and to the earth and nature.

Here’s where I found it, half buried in the dust, still cold from the night’s transit:

The energies and intention I am infusing into this Longreach Petrified Wood are that the holder moves from pain and fear to calm and acceptance of all that is. That the many layers of old thoughts, feelings and hurts fall away, leaving only love and wisdom. It is also a stone for calling in Guides and Ancestors to watch over you. It will reduce inflammation and promote circulation. It feels so comforting in my hand, and I know you’ll find it a comfort too.

The second stone is the Connection Stone, and it is a delicious rough Smoky Citrine Phantom Quartz that I found in the river bed behind our house. Connection stones connect us to Universal energy, as well as to Angels, Guides, Ancestors and our own wise soul energy.

This special crystal treasure holds energies of the volcanic cradle that is Byron Bay, and it will help you to shed old patterns and ways of being so that you can come into deeper alignment with your true self. It’s a stone of emotional healing and spiritual awakening.

The Smoky Citrine Phantom Quartz is protective and promotes joy. It’s also a stunning stone for connecting you to past life wisdom and to creative ideas that are waiting to be brought forth through you.

The energy of these two natural Australian stones is very strong and clear, and they compliment each other very well.

Instructions on how to win these stones:

Do one of any of the following;

  1. Write a comment on this post, explaining why you want to win these stones
  2. Post a comment on our facebook page, explaining why you want to win these stones
  3. Post a comment on your facebook page and tag us in (use @cauldronsandcupcakes and @nicolecody)
  4. Post a picture on Instagram with the hashtag #CandCAugustRocks and in your description explain why you want to win these stones
  5. Send us an email to explaining why you want to win these stones

This competition closes on September 4th at 8pm Brisbane time, and I’ll announce the winner on September 5th.

I’ll be giving away a set of stones every month between now and December, so there are plenty of chances for you to win.

Biggest love and hugs to all of you, Nicole   xoxo

We’ve been inundated!

“I’ve always felt there is something sacred in a piece of paper that travels the earth from hand to hand, head to head, heart to heart.”
~  Robert Michael Pyle

I was going to announce the winner of our July meditation stones competition today. But we’ve been inundated with last-minute entries and emails, and I need to read all of them before we make our decision. Entries are now closed, but there is a new opportunity for you to win with our August competition.

We’ll make our big announcement this time tomorrow, and we’ll also introduce the August stones, which I am working with every day, and which I will also be giving away, along with a customised guided meditation for the winner.

Sorry for the delay, but your responses are precious to me and I want to value every single one!
Much love, Nicole  ❤ xoxo

Chakra Journal Challenge: Week 3 – Sacral Chakra

“To be creative means to be in love with life. You can be creative only if you love life enough that you want to enhance its beauty, you want to bring a little more music to it, a little more poetry to it, a little more dance to it.”
~ Osho

Hello, and welcome to Week Three of our Chakra Journal Challenge!

Every Tuesday in March and April I will post a Journal Challenge for you, based upon a journey through the main chakras. You don’t need to know anything about journalling, chakras, crystals, oracle cards or energy work. I’ll explain everything that you need to do each week. Then you’ll have a week to complete the simple activities I share.

If you’re only just joining us please go back and read my Orientation Post first.

About the Sacral Chakra

Orange corresponds to our Sacral Chakra, our centre for Creativity and Sensuality. The Sacral Chakra is located midway between our pubic bone and our belly button. It is a vibrant orange colour. This energy centre anchors us into the joys of being in a physical body and its surroundings. The Sacral Chakra is our pleasure centre, and centre for creativity in all forms, including the gift of life. When we are in flow in this chakra we are passionate, sensual, patient, creative, self-nurturing, have clear emotions and a great joy for life. We become attractive and magnetic to our desires and become natural creators and manifestors.

Out of balance in this chakra we can become workaholics, overeaters, make poor partner choices and attract ‘wrong’ partners or scare them away, we can be disconnected, shut down to pleasure, blocked creatively, and feel overly stressed and anxious.

Weekly Structure

Each week of this nine week challenge will follow the same format:

  1. We will begin with the short guided meditation for the week, using your guidance stone. During this meditation you’ll be given a colour to work with for the week, and a word or phrase.
  2. We will choose an oracle card to give us inspiration and direction for the week ahead.
  3. We will spend ten minutes (or more if desired!) to complete our weekly journal prompt.
  4. We will give ourselves healing energy at least once this week.
  5. We will spend a few moments at the end of our day in gratitude.

Guided Meditation:

You’ll need ten minutes to listen to this short guided meditation. Feel free to hold your crystal while you meditate. When the meditation is complete, write down your power colour and your power word or phrase for the week in your journal.

Journal Prompts:

Now answer the following questions, writing as little or as much as you need:

  • What does your Power Colour mean to you? What words or ideas does it provoke? Write them down. Then use that colour to boost your energy. Shut your eyes for thirty seconds and breathe it into your body whenever you feel a bit flat or low. Wear it as clothing. Choose flowers in your colour. Eat food that colour. Be creative with it.
  • How can you use your Power Word this week? Write a few ideas, based on your word. Trust whatever comes and write it down. Don’t overthink it.

Want to go deeper with your journalling? Try these additional prompts. Write the beginning of the sentence and then keep going, using stream of consciousness. Do one or all of them. You’ll be amazed what you might discover about yourself!

  • When I connect into the energy of my Sacral Chakra it makes me strong to think that…
  • When I connect into the energy of my Sacral Chakra it makes me scared to think that…
  • When I connect into the energy of my Sacral Chakra it makes me curious to think that…
  • When I connect into the energy of my Sacral Chakra it makes me excited to think that…

Your Chakra Card For The Week:

Take your chosen oracle or tarot cards, offer up a small prayer that whatever you do be for your Highest Good, and then shuffle the deck. As you’re shuffling, ask the question ‘What wisdom does my Sacral Chakra have for me this week?’ Say it out loud or hold it as a thought in your head. Either will work.

Choose one card. How you choose is up to you. Split the deck. Fan them out. Top or bottom. Dive right in. There is no right or wrong.

Now look at your card and hold your guidance stone in your non-writing hand. Really look at the card. Don’t use the book or the ‘proper’ meaning. We are being intuitive here, people! What stands out for you in the picture? What thoughts and ideas do the images provoke? Take a minute or two and write those thoughts down. I know, you might feel like you’re just making it all up. That’s okay. Write anyway. Trust that there is a part of you that is wise and that has been waiting for this chance to speak with your conscious mind.

Here’s an example of my first journal pages for the Sacral Chakra. I love the card I have drawn this week! How about you?:

Hands On Healing:

This week, let’s get some movement happening in our bodies!

  1. Ground your feet into the earth, barefoot on the ground if possible, feet hip width apart. Imagine your feet like tree roots anchoring you into the ground.
  2. Then visualise a thick ropey umbilical cord running from your belly deep down into the core of Mother Earth.
  3. Let your hips and lower body get strong and stable with the support of the Earth’s energy and then put your hands on your hips. Start circling your hips in small movements in one direction and slowly increase the size of the circle you make with your hips. (Like playing with a hula hoop)
  4. Then reverse direction, starting with small circles and getting bigger.
  5. Finally, rock your pelvis back and forth, starting with small movements and making them larger.
  6. Finish by throwing your hands up into the air, like your body is a star – reach out with your fingertips as your feet root down into the earth, neck and head long and strong.
  7. Now shake your hands out and activate your hand chakras, and then place them over your Sacral Chaka. Direct white light and the orange light into that chakra, and throughout your body as needed.

Running short on time? Just do Step 7. You can also as you lie in bed, just before you go to sleep or when you first wake up.

Practicing Gratitude:

The Gratitude Rock anchors positive energy and gratitude at the end of every day.  You can carry your stone with you, or leave it beside your bed.  At night, before you go to sleep, hold your Gratitude Rock in your hand.

As you hold the stone say to yourself: I am richly Blessed. I have an Abundance of Good in my life. Then hold in your mind one or more image of a thing you have been grateful for today. Swell that positive energy up in your heart like a beautiful golden light, and give a heart-felt Thank You, Thank You, Thank You to the Universe. Visualise a tiny shower of golden light travelling from your heart into your Gratitude Rock.

Now here’s the fun bit – imagine all of the other people who are taking part in this journalling challenge with you. Once again build up a strong positive energy in your heart, and then imagine shooting a stream of golden light out into the Universe to those people.

Say Thank you. I Bless You. I intend for you Love, Miracles and Abundance.Know that as you are saying this for them, they are also saying this for you. Feel that connection and gratitude and know that there is real love and support for you here. Place your rock back beside your bed, and go to sleep, cocooned in this good energy.

Win a Magical Talisman Just For You!

magical talisman

“Believe something and the Universe is on its way to being changed. Because you’ve changed, by believing. Once you’ve changed, other things start to follow. Isn’t that the way it works?”
~ Diane Duane, So You Want to Be a Wizard

Last week I shared the story of how I brought my friend Carly’s magical Writing Talisman into being. A Talisman is a small spiritual object which has been created with love and infused with specific energies to help attract or achieve a certain outcome.

Made by my own hands from feathers found at my farm, and with the energies of Crow and Magpie, I crafted this Talisman to help Carly with her writing – so that she might be encouraged to share her personal story. The Talisman was an entreatment to go deeper, to be brave in sharing truth, at gifting this story in a way that might illuminate the way for others. I supported the energy of the feathers with banded red and black agate, bone, marble, black tourmaline, rosewood and a few chakra stones that support communication and flow of words.

I also had two other feathers, one from a Green Catbird and one from a Black Cockatoo. I knew that from them I would craft a second Talisman which I would give away to one of you, my dear readers.

But it didn’t feel complete until Madam Crow gifted me a third feather.

cockatoo, crow, catbird feather

Now I shall shape these three beautiful feathers into something specific to you. I won’t actually finish my Talisman until I have chosen a winner. Then I will tune in to you and select the stones, beads and other embellishments that will hold and enhance the spiritual energies that I place into this Talisman, ready to gift those energies to you. It will be custom-made to your own energies and needs.

Do you think this Talisman might be for you?

If so, then enter your name in the comments section below.

And every time you share this post on facebook, instagram or twitter with the hashtag #NicoleCodyTalisman I’ll give you an extra entry into the competition.

I will draw the Winner on Saturday November 5th at 8pm Brisbane Australia time, and announce the winner here on the blog on November 7, 2016.
