Lighting The Way For Others – Monday Oracle 29 October 2018

“Share your knowledge.
It’s a way to achieve immortality.

Dalai Lama

Hello, Lovelies!

October brings our focus back to our home environment, our heart-space and our soul’s journey. We’ll feel a need to nest, to clean and beautify the spaces where we spend most of our time (this could be your body, home, work or even your car!) and to have to hand the things we need to make our time in these spaces comfortable and productive. Keep that in mind as we look at the gifts of inspiration which the oracle card Eight of Swords brings us.

In our lives there are things we have learned only through experience. In living them we have discovered things about ourselves and about life that could never be learned through a book or course. Eight of Swords encourages us to share that wisdom with others this week.

Whether it is passing on a skill, giving some hard-won advice, or supporting a friend or family member based on your own experience of a similar situation, everything you do that uplifts or supports another contributes to the overall raising of the Planet’s vibration. Be the light! Practice kindness and be encouraging to all you meet.

This is also a great week for all forms of spiritual connection, journalling and intuitive work for yourself or others. From life’s trials and difficulties you’ll find answers, directions and growth opportunities.

Supportive crystals this week?

Bronzite promotes inner harmony, reduces worry and allows you to feel grounded, calm and safe.  Angelite nurtures your soul, gifting you expansive connection and deep emotional nourishment. A stone for revelations and insights about what is good for you. Smoky Quartz (pictured) helps you to overcome self-doubt and is shielding, protective and reassuring. Lapis Lazuli will help you speak your truth and hold your ground with wisdom and clarity.

Helpful essential oils?

Basil essential oil brings clarity, focus and uplift this week, and is a great oil to diffuse.  If you’re really muddled or exhausted add a few drops of Lemon or Wild Orange.

I’m passionate about essential oils and their capacity to support our wellness journey and our spiritual and emotional wellbeing. If you’d like to know more or want to source the oils I recommend and trust visit this site or contact me at channelnc@gmail.com

Upcoming Events

If you’re looking for some extra support for your spiritual and creative flow come check out my upcoming Pop-Up ShopChannelling Night and One Day Workshops in Brisbane 9-11 November. I’ll be teaching half-day workshops about fairies and how to create your own portable Fairy Garden, as well as basic sacred geometry and Crystal Gridding Skills to support you for 2019. My one-day Mystical Manifesting Workshop utilises all of the rituals I use to close out one year and herald in the new one. I will guide you on a journey to open you up to your highest potential and clearest direction for 2019 (and I am so excited about this workshop I could spontaneously break out into a happy dance!). No matter what level you’re at I’ll have something for you on my program. More details here!

Holding you, as always, in my thoughts, prayers and meditations, and intending for you a life of abundance and joy, where you are no longer limited by your doubts.

All my love,

Nicole ❤ xx

PS: Monday’s oracle card, ‘Eight of Swords’, is from the Inner Child Cards – A Fairy-Tale Tarot. I use any cards shown as a prompt for channelled messages and my own own intuitive wisdom, so my take is sometimes quite different to the meaning found in a book.

Are you feeling called to explore your Spiritual and Intuitive side?

“Spirituality is not adopting more beliefs and assumptions but uncovering the best in you.”
~  Amit Ray

“Your soul knows the geography of your destiny. Your soul alone has the map of your future, therefore you can trust this indirect, oblique side of yourself. If you do, it will take you where you need to go, but more important it will teach you a kindness of rhythm in your journey.”
~ John O’Donohue

During our time together I will be immersing you in a spiritual and energetic world where you will connect with your own gifts, and be given exercises and activities for your current level of ability, and which are tailored to your specific energetic skillset. There will be time on this retreat for you to seek clarification and guidance with me too, about your spiritual practice, your next steps in life, and your path of service to others.

What Previous Participants Have Said:

‘Words can not express how amazing Nicole Cody retreats are. They really do have to be experienced. This changed my life and I really appreciate the time and effort that Nicole and Dana PA put in. So much wisdom and love surrounds Nicole – I took advantage of the payment plan – so I would highly recommend going along. I made so many lovely friends and had many breakthroughs.’ – Amanda C.

If anybody is on the fence and wondering if they can actually invest money 💰 in themselves to do this retreat 🌈 I have to tell you what ever it takes if this retreat is calling you do the things you need to to make it happen 🌸 I have attended 3 of Nicole’s courses since I discovered her blog 💫And yes life changing 🦋
I have also met so many wonderful people and you will hear the phrase “finding my tribe” thrown around a lot 🌿
You will never regret going to Beautiful Byron for a life challenging and changing experience 🌷 – Beka L

I’ll second those sentiments too. I went on a retreat 2 years ago and was so anxious but once I got there and met everyone, I was made to feel really welcome and cherished. Nothing was too much trouble and when I was ” stuck” there was plenty of support from some wonderful people. (Plus the food was awesome) – Mary P

And from my wonderful PA, Dana:

If you have ever wanted to attend a retreat with Nicole but felt you weren’t experienced enough, or that the retreat sounded a bit scary (because channelling and other things we do aren’t for everyone!), then our March “Spiritual Awakening” retreat is perfect for you! It is a very gentle beginners retreat. I cannot put into words how well Nicole, her guides, the food and the environment will nurture and support you.
As booking forms have started to come in, I also wanted to remind you that we can work out a payment plan for you based on what works for you. Unfortunately our suppliers are putting up their prices, so this is the last time we’ll be able to offer this retreat at this price. So please don’t let money be the reason why you don’t join us. Places are starting to fill, so get in touch before we sell out!
Love and hugs to you all, Dana

The Quiet Calm of Morning Meditation

“Silence is the great teacher and to learn its lessons you must pay attention to it. There is no substitute for the creative inspiration, knowledge, and stability that come from knowing how to contact your core of inner silence.”
~  Deepak Chopra

I have a regular meditation practice that has stretched now for over thirty years. Twice a day I sit in meditation, once at day’s beginning and then again at day’s end. Sometimes I walk or perform some other kind of moving meditation, but mostly I am seated and still.

Very occasionally I will miss a session. If I am very ill I may miss one. If I have been out late and drunk alcohol I may tumble into bed without meditating. (Thanks to lyme disease the latter isn’t actually a very common occurrence – neither the late nights nor the drinking – although on my recent vacation I missed ten evening meditation sessions over six weeks. Woohoo!)

No matter where I am I find myself waking at 4am local time. I will meditate and then I will either get up and start my day, or if it is a Sunday or a holiday I will pop back into bed and go back to sleep.

At day’s end, just before I slide between the sheets, or sitting up in bed, I meditate once more to close off my day.

I meditate to enter that place of sacred stillness. I also meditate to grow, to heal, to do psychic work, to work with my hand-chosen students whom I may be teaching or training, and to work with healing others.

Sometimes, like for these next few weeks, I will work with a mala during my meditations. The main beads each represent a person, and I form a deep connection with each one. I am meditating twice daily now for a new group of students who will soon join me on retreat. To feel them energetically each day and to support them on their journey is an immense privilege.

2015-05-27 06.10.24

I can’t begin to tell you what a comfort it is to be home again and back in my usual meditation routine. To slip into that space of quiet and calm and to let go the worries and thoughts that crowd my mind in waking hours. To remember my eternal soul, and the wonder of our unfolding journeys. To connect with those I love, near and far, here and departed from the physical realms.

Always, at the end of each session, I send peace and love out into the world. I send healing to mother earth. I send love and healing to my family and loved ones, to my clients and students, to all of you. I pray for your well-being. I pray that you know how precious you are and that you come to understand that you are never alone – you are loved and thought of by so many souls you may never meet in this lifetime. I know that as I do this there are other souls in meditation across the globe engaged in similar activity. I feel their sparks of light travelling out into the world and I am renewed in my own spirit, no matter what I might be facing when I open my eyes and come back into the flow of my life again.

I just wanted to remind you that even though the media will most often show the world as being crazy and highlight the worst of humanity’s actions, there is actually a swelling number of souls sitting in peace, holding space for peace, and shining love and light out into the world.

You can too, just by sitting quietly and going within. If the only person your meditation practice ever benefits and changes is you, by helping you to find that quiet calm space within you, and by helping you feel your own connection to all that is, then you have contributed to positive change in the world. Don’t ever underestimate the power of a small action.

Sending so much love your way. Nicole <3 xx

10 Simple Ways To Honour Your Spirit

“We are like islands in the sea, separate on the surface but connected in the deep.”
~ William James

Here are my favourite ways to honour your soul and to acknowledge and deepen spiritual connection and intuitive wisdom:

  1. Talk to the Divine/God/Your Guides/Ancestors/Angels/Fairies/Mother Earth – know that you are heard
  2. Spend time in nature – it’s good for the Soul
  3. Learn to meditate. Practice often!
  4. Live in the moment
  5. Be aware of your body, your breath, your thoughts, your actions
  6. Be brave – love deeply
  7. Treat yourself and others kindly and without judgement
  8. Make time for spiritual exploration – be creative and use what you’re drawn to
  9. Trust your intuition – it’s like a muscle; the more you use it the stronger it gets
  10. Love and approve of yourself as you are NOW

You’re in my thoughts, prayers and meditations. Know that you are loved.

The Gifts of Silence

“We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature – trees, flowers,  grass – grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence… We need silence to be able to touch souls.” ~ Mother Teresa

Silence gifts us time to think.

Silence gifts us room to grow.

Silence allows the deepest of rests.

Silence encourages inner connection.

Silence is a space waiting to be filled with emotion, ideas and inspiration.

Silence is a place of wisdom and great energy, once we learn to open to its beauty.

Silence is the language of the Divine.

Day 30 – Gratitude Challenge

Image from heathermhunter.com

“Expressing gratitude is a natural state of being and reminds us that we are all connected.”  ~ Valerie Elster

There is a natural flow and inter-connectedness within the Universe, and we are part of that energy too. No matter how ordinary and mundane we may feel from day to day, the truth is that we are incredible BEings – we are Souls having a physical experience here in this lifetime.

Each of us is Blessed with a way to tap into that interconnectedness of all things.  It’s called intuition. If you doubt this, think for a minute: Have you ever thought of a friend and then they called you? Have you ever had a hunch, a positive feeling about something, an insight or understanding without knowing why?  Has your body ever communicated with you by showing you what makes it feel good, and what doesn’t?

We are strongly guided. We are deeply loved. And each of us has the ability to use our thoughts and emotions to influence our reality. In truth we are all Lightworkers. The more we release feelings of fear and lack, and move into a place of gratitude, trust and abundant thinking, the more our inherent intuition and spiritual connection will strengthen – acting as a compass to guide us through life’s journey.

Today, take a moment to tune into the music of the universe, and the wisdom of your own heart. Be grateful for your sensitivity, your energy, your intuition, the Infinite Love that surrounds you, and for your connection to that Love.

Counting Our Blessings and Using our Gratitude Rock

If you need a detailed reminder of our daily process, you can review it here in Day 1 of the Gratitude Challenge.

  1. List five Blessings in your journal, explaining why you are grateful for each one.
  2. Count your Blessings off on your fingers, summoning positive emotion and saying Thank You from your heart for each one.
  3. Write the following words on a piece of paper, feeling the truth of this energy in your heart,  and add this paper to the ones already under your Gratitude Rock : I am connected to all things, and I honour and claim my spiritual and energetic connection with the World. I am grateful for my intuitive gifts.  Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
  4. Tonight before you go to sleep, hold your Gratitude Rock and affirm I am richly Blessed. I have an Abundance of Good in my life. Visualise one thing you have been grateful for today. Swell that positive energy up in your heart like a beautiful golden light, and give a heart-felt Thank You, Thank You, Thank You to the Universe, then imagine a tiny shower of golden light travelling from your heart into your Gratitude Rock.
  5. Still holding your Gratitude Rock, bless your fellow travellers on this Gratitude Journey by sending them golden light, and saying Thank you.  I Bless You.  I intend for you Love, Miracles and Abundance. Know that as you are saying this for them, they are also saying this for you. Feel that connection and gratitude and know that there is real love and support for you here.

If all you do today is these five steps, know that is enough.

But if you’re ready for a little more, why not join me for our final gratitude challenge?

Thank You For Our Connection!

Get comfortable and close your eyes.  Visualise all of the friends across the world who have been supporting you on this 30 Day Gratitude Challenge.  Each night, before they go to sleep, they have been sending you positive energy and intention – they have been sending you the energetic vibration of Love, Miracles and Abundance.

Today, flow positive Energy, Love and Gratitude back to them.  Imagine it as golden light flowing energetically from you and travelling all across the world, blessing these souls with your intention and emotion.  You don’t even need to use specific words if you don’t want to – just energy and emotion. Remember to say Thank You, Thank You, Thank You from your heart.

Really feel the inter-connectedness and Oneness of all things.  Feel your place in the world and this invisible energetic bridge that links our hearts and souls.

Allow a feeling of connection to flood through you.  Open yourself up to it. Trust in it. Know that you are a Spiritual BEing having a physical experience and that this energetic connection is your birthright.

Give Thanks for your spiritual nature. Give Thanks for your spiritual connection.  Really feel the Love and Energy that is always around you and flowing to you.  All you ever have to do is connect in with your heart.  It’s as simple as that!

This is a practice you can continue now that our Gratitude Challenge is concluding. Know that I’ll still be here daily, sending my love and good intentions to you. ♥ Why not join me in the energetic practice of flowing Love and Light to the world?

Touch of Friendship by Elizabeth Malara Wieczorek

To finish up your 30 Day Gratitude Challenge, tomorrow gather all of the pieces of paper that have been sitting under your Gratitude Rock this last week.  Put them into an envelope, seal the envelope and write on the front Thank You Universe – My Life is Blessed with Abundance and every day I draw more and more Positive Energy to me.  I Thank You that all my Dreams are coming true.  Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.  Feel the truth of this energy in your heart.  Then  place the sealed envelope in your Gratitude Journal, and know that with this simple and heart-felt intention you are powerfully transforming your life.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Thank you SO much for joining me and our beautiful community of Lightworkers over the past 30 days.  I am grateful for each and every one of you, and for the unique energy you bring to our existence. My hope is that through this practice of gratitude you are opening to your own magnificence, that you are finding flow, and that you are celebrating being part of creating positive energy in your own life and the lives of others. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

The Power of a Father’s Love

“Life is the first gift, love is the second, and understanding the third.” ~ Marge Piercy

One night, in the middle of 2010, I was on a cruise ship in the middle of the ocean. It was late, and we had been asleep for some hours. The room phone rang, waking us up.  When  I answered there was no-one on the end of the line. I hung up, groggy and disoriented, turned over and went back to sleep.

The phone rang again.

Again I answered it. No-one there. I hung up, cranky to have been woken a second time.

For the next two hours the phone kept ringing. Of course there was no-one on the end of the line. In frustration my husband pulled it out of the wall.

Then my cell phone rang. In the middle of the ocean. Miles from having any sort of reception. I fumbled for it and then gave up in disgust as once again there was no-one on the line.

And then had a realisation.

“Someone’s trying to contact me,” I said to my weary and shaken husband. We both knew what I meant.  A psychic thing.

“I’m going outside to do a meditation,” I told him. Wrapping a robe around me I went out onto the balcony and perched on a sunlounge. Soon I was deep in meditation, asking for guidance around what had just happened. Nothing came for a long time, and I pulled my robe closer as the air cooled before dawn.

Suddenly in quick succession I saw a single vehicle accident on a country road as a series of jolted images – sliding, rolling, slamming into a tree. It was so real I could smell the metallic tang in the air, the dust, and the blood. It was as if I were in the driver’s seat, and then somehow I was standing there, beside the mangled car. Steeling myself, I bent to look through the window.

A moan came from behind me.  I whipped my head around.

I knew his face, but I couldn’t place him. He looked so lost, so broken, and I found it very hard to breathe. It came to me slowly. He was the husband of a client.  I’d never met him, but I’d seen his photo, maybe two years before. The same man was standing on the road. With a sickening feeling I understood.  He was dead.

I don’t do dead people, I thought to myself, feeling panicked. Come on guys, I don’t DO dead people.

It all went black. Like the lights going out in a cinema. My husband was shaking my shoulder. “Come on honey, you’re freezing.  Come inside and have a shower.  We’re meeting for breakfast in half an hour.”

I shook my head. “I can’t do it. Can you meet them?”  We were supposed to be breakfasting with friends, but I was hollow, shaken and distressed. And I knew I still had unfinished business somehow.

Ben gave me one of those looks. Loving, understanding, unhappy all at once. “You okay?” he asked.

“Not really.”

“No. Neither am I. That was the freakiest thing. What’s going on?”

“I don’t know. A  car accident I think.” I felt terrible for Ben.  Here I was on holidays and I was still working, my world affecting his, intruding on what was supposed to be a well-earned break.

After Ben left I took a warm shower and then dressed and settled back into meditation again, propped up in bed with the blankets over my legs. This time my entry back into that strange space was unsettlingly quick.

The man was where I’d left him, pacing up and down on the baking bitumen beside his wrecked car. “I need you to call my wife,” he said.

My heart began racing. Nicole, none of this is real, I told myself.  “You’re dead,” I said stupidly to the man.

“Yes.” He calmed down. “But it’s okay.”

In fact he was calmer than me. I was still feeling the horror and trauma of his passing.

He put his hand on my shoulder and a warmth flooded through me. “Call my wife. Not about me,” he added, “it’s about our daughter. Our youngest daughter. Please.  It’s urgent.”

I nodded yes. What else could I do? A picture flashed into my mind of a tiny baby girl, perhaps a year old. She was shallow breathing in a small crib. I felt a fluttering flooding feeling in my chest.

Father and daughter – by Emilia Pawlikowska

“My daughter’s dying,” he continued. “It’s her heart, she’s got a hole in her heart. I can see it now. She was sleepy all the time, and losing weight, and our family doctor said she was fine.  But we still thought there was something wrong. She just wasn’t thriving. She was fussy and wouldn’t eat. And then she began to have blue fingernails. So my wife took her to the hospital. The doctors there sent her home. They said she was just cold.”

“Please,” he said again.  “I can’t reach her. I can’t reach my wife. I tried, and then I thought of you. You have to call my wife and get her to take our daughter to the hospital. She needs to go right away. She needs to make the doctors understand. My wife will listen to you. Call her!”

I snapped back into my body abruptly, my open eyes trying to take in our room. Lurching off the bed I opened my laptop, scrolling through my old emails.  Finally I found her name and the contact details she’d submitted via my website. I checked my cell phone. There was one bar of service.  I stepped back out onto the balcony. There was land sliding by us. My signal managed to get a little stronger and I dialled the number with a shaking hand.

It was one of the hardest phone calls of my life.

But because of a father’s love and persistence a little girl was able to have open heart surgery, and now can lead a healthy life.

I spent the rest of my day sitting on the balcony, looking out over the ocean and being grateful for solitude. My darling husband told our friends I was unwell, and gave me the space I needed to pull my head back together.

And the next day Barcelona opened her arms to me, and I gave myself over to her healing charms.

Soul Mates – How to Recognise One

A loving heart is the beginning of all knowledge.
Thomas Carlyle

You might wonder what a Soul Mate relationship feels like, what it looks like, and how you’ll know…

Let’s start by looking at what a Soul Mate relationship is not.

Image from perpetualkid.com

A Soul Mate will not share every view, feel as you do about everything in the Universe, or be your clone.

A Soul Mate relationship will not be about never arguing.

It will not be about perfection.

Image from geekologie.com

A Soul Mate is not some strange sort of parasitic or unhealthy dependency where you simply can’t survive without them in your life, or where they love you all up and suck you dry, before discarding you to move onto someone fresh.

A Soul Mate relationship won’t be categorised by fear, relentless pain, uncertainty, a feeling of being trapped, or a sense of impending doom.

It won’t be an abusive relationship.

It won’t be a relationship that belittles you, puts you down, discredits or dishonours you. It won’t be a relationship that puts doubts in your head until you begin to question your own judgement, and where your confidence and esteem erode, little by little, until you are weak and frail – a shell of who you were before. You won’t need to keep earning the other person’s love, or proving yourself.

Image from contentinacottage.blogspot

So what does a Soul Mate relationship look like?

First and foremost, it is always categorised by love.  Not vain love or showy love – but the sort of enduring and deepening love that allows you to grow, together, into something stronger, better and wiser than you were before.

Soul Mate relationships endure – they allow us to suffer the pain, and find a way, together, to move forward. In the presence of love we learn forgiveness, acceptance, compassion.

They bring out the best in us.  They give us comfort, friendship, support, and (often at the most unexpected times) fireworks in our bellies. They help us know laughter, and tears, they help us find the strength in ourselves and in each other.

With a Soul Mate we feel safe, and that safety gives us courage to wander far from home, creating and exploring and enacting our dreams.

Soul Mates believe in us, they’ll fight for us, and they’ll call us on it when we’re mistaken, or heading in the wrong direction. They love us when we have done nothing to deserve it, and when we feel totally unworthy of love, and they remind us to take care of ourselves, while caring for us when we can’t.

And at times, they’ll annoy us or frustrate us so much that we’ll wonder why we didn’t choose the other person. We’ll wish they’d just take a hike and leave us well alone. But in the next breathe we’ll know how miserable we’d be without them in our lives.

The relationship, like yourself, will always be a work in progress, ever changing, ever evolving, at times difficult, sometimes even strained to the point where you momentarily  find it hard to recognise yourself or each other. But it will also have the familiarity and comfort of home. And in the arms of this relationship you’ll know two things – love and safety. More importantly, you’ll get to know your true self.

A Soul Mate will spilt your heart open and you won’t even mind the pain because of all the love and joy you find there.

Can they really be your Soul Mate if you argue?

I grew up in a house where I never heard my parents fight. Sadly, their marriage didn’t last, but it made me certain that arguing was not a part of anything to do with love.

After I had my very first major and quite vocal disagreement (yep, some people would call that a fight…) with my husband, just weeks after we’d been married, I sat on the internal staircase of our house and cried, while my husband went outside to wash the car.

My beautiful Guide, Rollo, spoke to me, and asked, ‘Do you know what a Soul Mate relationship is?’

‘Obviously not!’ I snivelled, feeling totally pathetic and like I’d just made the biggest mistake of my life in getting married. I was sure Rollo was going to confirm that for me too.

Instead he showed me a picture of an oyster. ‘Do you know what happens when a tiny grain of sand gets into that oyster?’ he asked.

‘No,’ I sniffed.

‘It irritates the hell out of the oyster’ my Guide boomed, laughter in his voice.

Exactly, I thought. Irritates the hell out of it.

‘And in the presence of love, the oyster wraps that irritation in a special substance and after a while the pain goes away.’

I felt my Guide smiling at me. ‘Then the tide turns, and that annoying grain of sand moves somewhere else in the oyster, and do you know what happens?’

‘No,’ I replied, slow on the uptake.

‘That grain of sand causes more irritation in a different spot. But if love is present, love keeps wrapping itself around the irritation. The oyster grows, and over time the oyster transforms that grain of sand, in the presence of love, into something of great value and lasting beauty.  That oyster grows a pearl.  Without the irritation and the need to grow, nothing extraordinary would have ever happened.  But when love is present, magical transformation is possible.’

Image from freewallpaper4me.com

I could have hugged Rollo. My wise Guide was absolutely right.  I stopped crying and went into the kitchen to make my husband a cup of tea.

It’s true.  Love transforms.  It helps us weather many storms.  It grows us.  It improves us. It comforts us and delights us. And at some stage it causes us pain (usually BECAUSE we love), and love helps us bear that pain. The pain doesn’t weaken us – it strengthens us.  And from that pain we grow into something beautiful.

Working with Crystal Grids – Day Four

Crystals have their own energetic field, just as humans do, and one of the great things about crystals is that you can also use them to create geometric shapes within which you can create an energetic room or field big enough to exert energy and influence over a wider space.  This technique is known as gridding.

Today I’m going to show you the basics of creating simple grids at home.

 How a Crystal Grid Works

Crystals each have their own particular vibration, and an electromagnetic or auric field around them.  All living things also have a unique vibration, and auric as well as etheric fields (This is just the energy field emitted by a living thing).  When a crystal is introduced to a human’s auric field, there is a shift of vibrational energy.  The crystal may be able to accept and transmute the lower or negative vibrations within that person’s auric field, allowing that person to move to a clearer or higher vibration.

Crystal energy can be used to restore order to a chaotic vibrational field, or to increase vibrational level, which helps to move you to a more positive and lighter energy.  Crystals may impart a vibration particular to that type of stone which can help, heal or impart particular vibrational qualities and strengths. Gridding with crystals involves amplifying the vibration of a crystal by using it in conjunction with others.  This is a bit like turning up the volume on your radio, while adding additional radio towers to strengthen the frequency.

Gridding Basics

Gridding involves using a number of similar or complimentary crystals, placed in a configuration.  The most common shape is a square or oblong, but triangles and circles are also common.  Circles are fun to make, and I often make one during equinoxes or full moons. It recharges my stones and when I sit in it, it recharges me!

The grid below, which was made in my backyard for an eclipse, was big enough for several people to lie within.  It was a great place for a nap and I couldn’t keep my dogs out of it!

More intricate grid shapes involve using a larger number of crystals.  A generator crystal can be used in the center of the configuration to amplify the energy of the outer crystals, and to strengthen the vibration.

I have made grids to go in the foundations of houses, and one of my favourite configurations is a Fibonacci Spiral. But that is a fairly complex process, and today I promised I would keep things simple.

A grid of crystals can be placed near you in a room where you work or rest.  However, for maximum effect it is best if you can actually sit or lie within the grid itself.  Common ways to place a grid are to lay the stones out around a chair, bed, meditation space or desk.  You can also grid a room by placing crystals in the room corners, or grid your house by placing crystals at the extreme corners of that house.  (You may need more than four to cover every corner).

Another effective technique is to grid the perimeter of your house, placing the crystals along your fence line.  Larger, more robust crystals are often best for this, and they will be self cleansing and generating.  However, do not judge the energy level of the crystal by size alone!  Some of the most powerful stones can often be no bigger than a pebble.

Additional Gridding Uses

Grids can be used to aid sleep, healing and mental alertness.  They can be used to help with Meditation and for connecting with Higher Self, Guides, and Past Lives.  Grids can assist with creativity, abundance and manifesting and maximizing your natural talents.  They can provide protection and wisdom.

You can use grids to help your garden grow, to vitalize herbs, fruits and vegetables.  Pets often benefit from a grid placed in their sleeping area.  Grids can be discretely placed to encourage harmony, healing or honesty within a situation.  They can also be used to absorb the negativity of others without this energy being passed to you.  People who have experienced problems with psychic attack can often be greatly assisted in this way.  In fact, whatever the natural vibrational properties of the crystal, they will be passed to you.

To Build Your Own Crystal Grid:

We are going to work with the most basic shape – a square whose corners are anchored by a crystal. So you will need four crystals to build your grid, and you may like to select a fifth one to hold as you sit in the centre. Use this grid to raise your vibration, and enhance your own energy field. (This is also great done around your bed for helping heal you while you sleep!)

This exercise is based on the principles of sacred geometry.  It will facilitate health, healing, clarity and connection.Set your intent by offering up a prayer or energetic intention that this exercise be for your Highest Good.Set up your Crystal Grid, using the four  crystals, by laying them out in a square.Visualise a pyramid of White Light extending up from the crystals, and one extending down into the floor, creating an energetic three dimensional diamond shape. It should look like this:

Sit, lie or stand inside this Light Grid.

Bring Light in through your Crown Chakra.  Use your intuition as to what colour Light to use.

Flood your body with Light.  On every inhale, draw Light into your body. On every exhale, see wispy grey energy leaving your body via your lungs or Base Chakra, and being drained through the bottom of the Pyramid.

Continue until your body feels light and calm.

Enhance this meditation by holding crystals whose characteristics or properties you wish to assimilate into your energetic field.  Women hold the crystal with hands cupped left on the bottom and right on top, palm upwards.  Men reverse this position, so that the left hand is on top and right underneath.

Recharging your Grid

Crystals need to be cleaned and re-energised from time to time, unless they are outside, planted in or on the earth, where they will be self charging.  With practice you will know when your crystals need attention because you will feel their energy decreasing.  There are many ways to cleanse and recharge your crystals.  If you are using your crystals regularly, take care of them and cleanse them often.

Healing with Crystals – Day Two

Today I’m going to look at some very simple healing techniques using crystals. These can be used for yourself, loved ones, and even for your pets.  My dogs both love having any form of energy work and I have even used crystals for my cows!

Crystals for Emotional and Energetic Support:

Crystals all have their own energy fields, and their own natural healing qualities.  Each stone will also have its own unique energy or personality, just as humans do. Small stones can have big fields, so don’t underestimate those smaller stones.

One of the easiest ways to use a crystal is simply to wear it as jewellery, tuck it into your bra or pop it in your pocket.

You could also place it beside you in the workplace, on your bedside table, or under your pillow.

Some of my personal favourites that are easy to source are:

  • Carnelian – for physical energy.  Great for when you are feeling run down, exhausted, or unwell.
  • Rose Quartz – for emotional support, self love, nurture and comfort.
  • Labradorite – for soothing the mind, bringing clarity, calm and gentle wisdoms.  A highly spiritual stone that is also very grounding.
  • Amethyst – for psychic and spiritual awakening, protection, guidance and sealing your aura.
  • Hematite – for protecting you on all levels and giving you strength.  Really deflective for other people’s negativity or aggression.
  • Citrine – for joy, abundance and positive opportunity.
  • Jasper – (there are so many beautiful jaspers to choose from, but they all have similar basic qualities) for grounding, calming and healing the emotions and physical body.
  • Fluorite – for enhancing creativity and flow of ideas, and attracting new opportunities that make best use of your gifts.
  • Calcite – for hearing and working with your Guides.
  • Smoky Quartz – for protection against electromagnetic radiation, and all negative vibrations and emanations.
  • Sodalite – for speaking your truth and clear communication.
  • Aventurine – for physical healing, removal of toxins, playfulness and a sense of great joy.

What is most important when choosing a crystal to wear or keep with you is that you are attracted to it, or attracted to the idea of it. Let your intuition guide you.  Children are naturally good at this, so you might also want to ask a small person to choose a stone for you if you feel unsure.

You may also want to place them where you spend a lot of time – the picture below is of the crystal selection on the windowsill above my kitchen sink!

Placing stones on the body:

This is a lovely thing to do, and it’s easy. Here’s a few variations you can try.

  • Simply choose one or more stones, lay them on your body, or the body of a loved one or pet, and then visualise or direct energy through the stone and into the part of the body where you want to promote healing. (I have bandaged crystals to parts of me with great result!) Even just lying down with the stone placed on your body is helpful.

  • Hold a tapered crystal or a wand, offer a prayer for the Highest Good, and then direct energy from the stone into the affected area, or energy centre of the body. (This usually works better doing it for others than on yourself.)
  • Hold a crystal over your heart, and then direct energy and light THROUGH that crystal and send the combined energy of the crystal and the light anywhere in your body that needs support, or even flood your entire body with that energy.  This is great to do when you are lying in bed, just before you go to sleep. I’ve included a short guided meditation at the end of today’s post to talk you through this process.

A simple guided Crystal Healing Meditation:

NoteAs I was recording this, just on dawn this morning, a group of crows came and sat on the fence in front of me.  They all looked at me and then began adding their own special energy to this meditation, so don’t be surprised to hear their voices amidst mine.  Crow Healing is considered very powerful by Australian Aborigines and Native American Indians, and I consider it a Blessing that these crows turned up today!

All you need for this healing session is a crystal and a comfortable place to lie down.  While it can be done in a seated position, lying down will enable you to relax deeply and fully. Once you understand the basics of this technique you can guide yourself through it without the aid of the recording.
