Insight and Intuition – Monday Oracle 3 June 2019

“Intuition is seeing with the soul.”
~ Dean Koontz

Hello, Lovelies!

June brings energies of growth and transformation. This month you can build on existing situations, foundations and opportunities, further transforming your life through work and self-belief. You’ll start to see results, and your progress will become visible to others too. Keep that in mind as we look at the gifts of inspiration which the card Intuition brings us.

This is a huge week for psychic and spiritual insight. You’ll find yourself connected in flow. Ideas, realisations, understanding and direction will come easily this week. You’ll be able to access this relaxed state of knowing and flow by moving out of stress. Exercise and meditation is great for that, but so is taking a long soak in the tub, knitting or chopping vegetables for dinner. Inspiration may come in a daydream, a sudden flash of ‘knowing’, in a dream or as a thought or awareness that slowly rises to the top of your conscious mind. Journalling and using your oracle or tarot cards is another useful way to access this flow of information.

Inspiration heralds synchronicities, opportunities coming your way, and things unlocking so that progress can finally be made. It’s a week of positive energy and things going right for you.

This week is quite intense energy which will be problematic for some people because spiritually it means everyone will be a little more sensitive and little more perceptive than usual. That’s not a bad thing, it is simply something that needs to be managed if you know you are one of those more sensitive souls.

Supportive crystals this week?

Map Jasper helps you to concentrate, analyse and understand. It supports the adrenals and counteracts overthinking and intellectual exhaustion. (Can’t find Map Jasper? Use a combination of your favourite Jasper with Black Tourmaline.) Peach Moonstone (pictured) encourages self-care, soothes worry, raises vibration and stimulates your capacity to problem solve using both intuition and reason. Fire Agate gifts you courage to follow your spiritual path, and inspires you to grow beyond your current limits. It’s a stone to kindle your creative flame. Clear Quartz amplifies intuition and our ability to tune in to Universal and Personal Wisdom. Use it to get clear about what matters in your life!

Helpful essential oils?

I’m loving Frankincense and Neroli this week. Use Frankincense for focus, inspiration and breakthroughs. Dab a drop on your Crown Chakra and the soles of your feet, inhale directly or add to your diffuser. It will also help keep you grounded, even as you stay connected.

Use Neroli to help you move back to a place of contentment, confidence and happiness. It’s great to inhale directly, diffuse or add a drop to Heart Chakra, throat and inner wrists like perfume. A few drops added to your bath make for magical self-care. Don’t have Neroli? Try Wild Orange or Bergamot instead.

I’m passionate about essential oils and their capacity to support our wellness journey and our spiritual and emotional wellbeing. If you’d like to know more or want to source the oils I recommend and trust visit this site or contact me at channelnc@gmail.com

Wishing you a transformative and uplifting week of insights, awareness and increased intuition.

Lots of love, Nicole ❤ xx

Rest And Find Your Center – Monday Oracle 27 May 2019

“Activity and rest are two vital aspects of life. To find a balance in them is a skill in itself. Wisdom is knowing when to have rest, when to have activity, and how much of each to have. Finding them in each other – activity in rest and rest in activity – is the ultimate freedom.”
~ Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

Hello, Lovelies!

Here we are in the final days of May. May has been such a breakthrough month – it’s been a time for positive progress, big leaps forward and fine-tuning of your self-awareness. Lots of lightbulb moments, dramatic shifts and realisations and the odd bit of pattern breaking. So I know you’ll appreciate the energies and gifts of inspiration which the card Rest brings us this week.

Rest is about you recognising it is important to find that balance between sustainability and momentum. Nothing can burn bright endlessly. Everything needs replenishment. So what nourishes and replenishes you?

It’s easy to think of food and exercise as nourishment. They are, but we are also soulful creatures with hungry minds and searching souls. Our souls have their own appetites. Maybe you need to go watch a football game and revel in being part of the larger crowd. Perhaps live music will fill you up, or a wine and cheese tasting at your local cellars. An early-morning surf could be your thing, or a picnic with family or friends, or an intimate date with your beloved. How long has it been since you read a book, listened to the birds in the backyard, visited a new restaurant or attended a workshop about something that interests you?

Rest is also about trying to work out how to incorporate rest into your every day, rest into your week or your weekend or your month. It’s about you thinking about longer holidays. Can you find a work/life rhythm that works for you? Can you start work earlier and finish earlier, or give yourself a later start one day a week? Can you clear one day on your weekend to simply relax and have time for yourself? Can you put the kids in care one afternoon a week to create a window of time just for you?

The messages and wisdom of Rest help you to become mindful about creating sustainability in your life so that you don’t burn out.

Supportive crystals this week?

Pyrite provides passion, power and protection. It builds determination and self-belief.  Dalmatian Jasper helps you move forward, living in mindfulness. It releases stress and amplifies joy. Rose Quartz (pictured) is a stone of love and nurture – it helps you to be open to the giving and receiving of love. Yellow Obsidian is a gently shielding stone that helps you to think clearly and to break patterns of self-criticism and negative thinking. It aids in looking for positive solutions to life’s dilemmas and for embracing change.

Helpful essential oils?

This week look to create a nurturing blend from any or all of the following oils:
Lavender keeps us in flow and relaxed, Neroli invites optimism and a sense of safety, Frankincense elevates our mood and promotes spiritual connection and intuition while keeping us grounded and Ylang Ylang opens our hearts and is supportive when we feel anxious or exhausted. To diffuse add 2 or three drops of each oil to your diffuser.

I’m passionate about essential oils and their capacity to support our wellness journey and our spiritual and emotional wellbeing. If you’d like to know more or want to source the oils I recommend and trust visit this site or contact me at channelnc@gmail.com

What To Do When You’re Stuck

“You need to know things the others don’t know. It’s what no one knows about you that allows you to know yourself.”
~  Don DeLillo

This week’s energies support deep diving and moving into that space of high creativity. This kind of creativity is also a spiritual space, so it’s perfect for any kind of soul work. (If you’d like a recap of the week ahead go here )

It’s awesome energy if you already have a project or plan to work on.

But what if you don’t?

Today’s post is for those of you who are stuck, those of you for whom life just isn’t working right now, those of you who are lost.

Give yourself a good half-hour to do some investigation of your stuckness (big stuck might need more time or multiple sessions – I know this from previous experience!) and gather the following tools:

  • a journal and some pens
  • a deck of tarot or oracle cards where you really like the pictures
  • your favourite crystal or stone (optional but good)

I’d also highly recommend a cup of tea or your favourite non-alcoholic beverage, because soul work can be thirsty work, and what isn’t made better by a cup of tea?

Image by Mysterious Lass at deviantart.com

1. Start by holding your crystal if you have chosen one, and close your eyes. Allow your breathing to become calm, and let yourself relax. Then breathe in white light or draw it in through the crown chakra at the top of your head. Offer up a prayer that everything you do be for the Highest Good. Ask your Highest Self, Guides, Angels, Ancestors or God to guide you. Say or think the intention ‘Show me why I am stuck, and help me see what to do next.’

2. Open your eyes. Hold your crystal or place it beside you while you work (feel free to pick it up and hold it again if you need some energy or encouragement). Take your journal and a pen and write whatever comes, using any of the following prompts. Write your prompt into your journal and then keep writing in response to that prompt. Don’t edit yourself. Just let the words flow.

  • I’m stuck because…
  • I hate my life right now because…
  • What I really don’t like is…
  • What I really want is…
  • What do I need to tell myself right now…
  • What do I really need to know right now…
  • Who am I?
  • What do I want?
  • Where am I going?
  • What’s better for me?
  • I’d rather be doing…

3. If you’re super stuck, and nothing is coming, keep asking yourself Why? Give yourself every Why question you can think of. If you ask Why am I stuck? and then write This is stupid! ask yourself Why is this stupid? Eventually one of the Why questions will pry free all of the feelings and thoughts and answers that are stuck within you. Why are you stuck? Why can’t you do this? Why isn’t this working? Why don’t you know? Why is this a dumb exercise? Why? Why? Why?

4. You’ll end up with words on the page. Hooray! That’s the beginning of unstuckness. Go back over what you’ve written with a highlighter or a pen in another colour where you can underline key words and phrases. Highlight anything that stands out to you.

5. Now choose one of those highlighted areas to investigate further. (I told you this was a week for diving deep.) Write the words you’ve highlighted into your journal again as a new entry, Eg: My relationship with Steve. Close your eyes again, breathe deeply and bring yourself to a place of calm. Feel your energetic team and your Higher Self ready to guide you. Fill yourself with white light and really feel into that support and connection. When you’re ready open your eyes again and pick up your oracle or tarot cards. Shuffle them, thinking about your relationship with Steve. Then choose three cards. The first card shows you where you are now. The second card shows you what the issue or limitation is. The final card shows you your opportunity or outcome. Look at the first card, and really pay attention to whatever thoughts, emotions or ideas come to you, and what the imagery of the card says to you in relation to where you are now with this situation. Then write what comes to you from looking at the card. Repeat this process for the second card, looking to understand what the issues or limitations are. Now use the final card to explore what the opportunities or outcomes can be.

Be open to situations where you may now need to find a coach, mentor or qualified therapist. Sometimes we can own and understand the problem but need help framing up a solution.

Our heart knows what it wants. Our soul can guide us. All we ever need to do is make time for that questing and connection.

As you begin to get unstuck again expect more answers, more flow and a return to inspiration. You’ve got this!

Much love, Nicole ❤ xx

Today’s Sunday Planning Session And Some True Confessions

2016-04-24 18.24.41

“Live in the moment but just be mindful that you are working towards something.”
~ Eric Zaccone

I know, I know. It’s Sunday. And on Sundays I don’t blog, and I don’t go on the internet and I don’t do any work.

Except that on this particular Sunday I am!

I’m taking some time over a cup of tea to revisit my yearly goals, my One Big Thing and my support focus areas using my Year of ME Planner. I’m thinking about the months ahead, and the plans I had for August, and how I might need to amend them or juggle them around. Plans are what hold me together in rough seas, and right now my sea is rougher than usual.

As you might know, I am scheduled for major surgery on September 5. Seeing I’ve shared such embarrassing issues as vomiting in public places and incontinence here on my blog, I figured I might as well continue in that same spirit of disclosure! I have an old problem that was put on the back-burner a few years ago because my heart was failing and I wasn’t up to surgery at that time. Other health  issues became a bigger priority. Most people with chronic lyme disease have similar stories – they have multiple serious health issues over time, rather than just one thing…

Just a few weeks ago (well after my holiday had ended, thank goodness) I was revisited by reminders of this old problem. I suffer from fibroids, benign tumors in and around my uterus which have caused pain and heavy menstrual bleeding for most of my adult life. Three years ago my doctors chose a method of halting those symptoms while we dealt with my heart and my other ongoing issues that were of more pressing priority.

The treatment for my fibroids worked, and the problem slipped to the back of my mind. My doctors and I were hoping that menopause might slow the growths or shrink them and that we could avoid surgery. For the past few years I’ve been symptom-free.

(And before I receive an avalanche of helpful advice about natural cures for fibroids… I have been doing them all for thirty years, and none of them have worked. I’ve also had surgery three times previously. Believe me, I have never wanted to get to this point, and have done everything in my power to reverse this. All those other methods have failed. All of them.)

From my latest scans it is apparent that I now have nearly thirty of these fibroids, including one that is 15cm x 4 cm, and a 20cm x 30cm new growth that is enlarging rapidly, and which has become involved with some of my other organs and internal structures. It will be long and complicated surgery to remove and repair all of these things. The growths in my belly are causing me a lot of pain and discomfort and a small amount of worry.

There. Now you know what’s going on with me.

Anyway, life goes on. It’s Sunday, and Sunday is my planning day. So I am planning. I hope you are, too!

I pulled this week’s oracle card for some guidance, and I thought I’d share it with you so you could see my process. No, I don’t use the little book’s meaning for the card. I let the card speak to my intuition instead.

2016-08-12 12.17.24

I love this card. It’s optimistic. It’s hopeful and positive. Here’s the fox, sitting on the egg of all her hopes and dreams and potential. It makes me feel like she is guarding those dreams carefully. That resonates for me. I was drawn to her soft, vulnerable underbelly and her complete dedication to her task. She gives me a sense of strength and direction.

She is also gazing intently through her telescope. A telescope brings certain things into clear focus. What things do I need to focus on right now? Into the future?

The telescope was the key image for me this week. Narrowing my focus. Bringing things into clear perspective. Keeping my eye on the destination and not being distracted by all the bombs going off around me.

Miss Fox is being watched by the moon, and by her unseen loved ones. She feels protected and very loved.

The word OBSERVER reminds me not to get caught up in my head or my emotions. Detachment is a useful skill.

The numbers 4 and 9 are also significant for me this week, although often I pay them no attention at all. 4 speaks to consistent work and steady effort. It’s a number of organisation and systems and attending to plans. 9 is for the completion of cycles. I am taking that as my personal good omen! Both of these numbers give me direction and a lift in my spirits.

I may not be able to barrel forward at my usual rate of knots this week, or in the coming months. That doesn’t matter. I can let slide whatever isn’t important. I can ask for help. I can delegate. I can do what I CAN do, and I will keep my eye on the prize.

Okay, time for me to finish my planning session. How about you? What’s ahead for you in this new week? Where would you benefit from putting your focus between now and the end of this year?

Thank you too, for all of your messages of love and support. It has really buoyed me up.

See you tomorrow.

Big love and hugs, Nicole xx

Chakra Clearing Meditation – Mini Online Chakra Wisdoms Retreat Day 3

“Clear your energy, honor your rhythm, live your vision ” ~ George Denslow

Today I have a simple guided meditation for you, to help you clear and energise your chakras.

This is a beautiful meditation that even complete beginners can do easily and well.

All you need to do is set aside about 7 minutes, close your eyes, and then  simply follow along to the sound of my voice. You are welcome to hold your favourite crystal during this meditation, and I do recommend that you keep your journal handy so that you can record any thoughts when the meditation is complete. There will also be an opportunity for you to pull three oracle or tarot cards at the end of this meditation, to give you further insights.

Running the Light Guided Meditation

Three Card Spread For Further Insight

Today we are going to pull three cards, one for each question. Just follow the instructions below.

2015-07-25-17-30-00

Shuffle your cards, while holding the question ‘What do I most need to know today?’

When you have shuffled the cards and they feel ‘done’, select just one card. How you choose that card is up to you. You can split the deck. You could take the top or bottom card. You could fan the cards out and take one from the array.

Place the card face up in front of you.

Clear your mind by closing your eyes and taking one deep breath in and then out. Open your eyes again. Take a minute and look at the picture on the oracle or tarot card.

What stands out for you? Is it an image or a colour? Is it a number or a word? What are your first impressions?

Write these down in your journal.

Now let’s go a little deeper. What feelings or words does this card evoke in your mind when you think about the card and its images in relation to your question. Take five minutes and just write some stream-of-consciousness thoughts down. Don’t censor or judge them. Trust your intuition..

Now repeat this same process for the final two questions:

‘Where am I holding myself back?’

‘If I bring my attention to it, where will I get my biggest breakthrough?’

Thinking of you and sending so much love, Nicole xx

Mini-Retreat Day 1 – Higher Self Connection

“I like to listen. I have learned a great deal from listening carefully. Most people never listen.”
~ Ernest Hemingway

“You are one thing only. You are a Divine Being. An all-powerful Creator. You are a Deity in jeans and a t-shirt, and within you dwells the infinite wisdom of the ages and the sacred creative force of All that is, will be and ever was.”
~ Anthon St. Maarten

So often we look outside ourselves for answers, forgetting that there is a source of wisdom that is always available to us – our own Higher Self.

Your Higher Self is the wisest aspect of you. Your soul. The same soul that has lived with awareness through all of this lifetime, the space between lifetimes, and any lifetimes you may have experienced prior to this one.

Your Higher Self is not your conscious mind or your ego, or your subconscious, although it knows all of these aspects of yourself. Instead it is an energy of pure love, compassion and wisdom, imbued with your own unique gifts, talents and preferences.

When you are struggling for answers, when you have lost your direction, it is good to reconnect to your Higher Self so that you can work through your issues with guidance from the part of you who remembers your best self and your potential. Your Higher Self also knows your Heart Path – the direction in life that will give you emotional satisfaction and happiness.

Today we’re going to connect with our Higher Self and then use that energy and connection to explore some important life questions.

To complete this activity in our mini-retreat you’ll need

  • A crystal or stone you can hold comfortably in your hand
  • A journal
  • Some pens and pencils
  • A deck of your favourite oracle or tarot cards that you have chosen just because you love their pictures.
  • A little time set aside just for you. The meditation requires 13 minutes and you’ll need at least another ten for journalling. If you have the luxury, allow an hour. Take more time if you have it, and are ready for a big dose of soul work.

Guided Meditation for Connecting with Your Higher Self

To do the meditation, hold your chosen crystal, and then sit or lie comfortably, close your eyes, and follow along to the sound of my voice:

Journal and Card Activity

Know that you have this connection to your Higher Self, continue to hold your crystal to help strengthen that bridge of connection. Yes, it’s okay to put the stone down and pick it up again – but hold the stone when you are writing, or reflecting on a card.

Journal Prompts:

Use your time to explore the following questions in your journal. Write the question at the top of the page, and then close your eyes for a moment, and feel back into the energy of your Higher Self. Strengthen the white and golden light. Feel that sense of peace and calm and expansion come upon you. Then open your eyes and write your response.

*Important – make sure that when you finish writing your answer, leave space to write one more response below. Give yourself half a page or a full page if possible.

The questions to ask are:

  • What do I most need to know right now?
  • What is my place of greatest possibility in using my talents and gifts?
  • What is my next step?
  • What simple changes can I make to affect greater happiness in my life?
  • What is my Higher Self’s greatest vision for my life?

Write as much or as little as you need. You may feel like you are making it all up. That’s okay. Keep writing. Trust the process.

2015-07-25-17-30-00

Using your Oracle or Tarot Cards

When you have finished journalling, take your cards, offer up a small prayer that whatever you do be for your Highest Good, and then shuffle the deck.

Now go back to the first question. Read the question again, but not your first response.

Shuffle the deck again, asking your Higher Self What else do I need to see in relation to this question?  Choose one card. How you choose is up to you. Split the deck. Fan them out. Top or bottom. Dive right in. There is no right or wrong.

Now look at your card and hold your crystal in your non-writing hand. Really look at the card. Don’t use the book or the ‘proper’ meaning. We are being intuitive here, people! Trust the guidance of your Higher Self. What stands out for you in the picture? What thoughts and ideas do the images provoke? Take a minute or two and write those thoughts down. You may want to use a different coloured pen for this part. I know, you might still feel like you’re just making it all up. That’s okay. Write anyway. Trust that there is a part of you that is wise and that has been waiting for this chance to speak with your conscious mind.

If you need to, draw up to five cards to gain further insight and clarity for this situation.

Then move to the next question and repeat the process.

Enjoy your reflection time, and if you can, spend a little time in nature today. This weekend has such a powerful ability to connect you in to your own and higher wisdoms. Use that energy well to help you get answers to your questions, and to provide direction for the months and years ahead.

I’ll see you tomorrow, when we’ll be connecting in with our guides and angels!

Sending much love to you from our retreat, Nicole xoxo

A New Journal Challenge For You!

Image from artleo.com

Image from artleo.com

“The wound is the place where the Light enters you.”
~ Rumi

Writing a journal is something I’ve done since I was a child. I don’t mean a simple diary, where you record the events of the day. You know what I mean… I ate this. I did this. Someone said that. No. I mean a place where I could explore ideas, talk with myself, and find my own answers.

Over the last few years I’ve created several journal challenges here on my blog, and I’ve just made a new one for you, to take advantage of the fabulous energies August and September bring for truly going deep within, in order to know and understand ourselves better.

Would you like to join me?

We’ll be starting next Sunday, August 2nd, so that you have adequate time to gather your resources together. Each Sunday for September and August I will have a new journal activity for you to complete during the week. You’ll need a minimum of ten minutes to set aside each week for writing, and an additional five minutes per day for five out of seven days for energy work. (If you can do more, great. If you can only find ten minutes then we’ll flow with that too.) There will also be an optional guided meditation each week.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • A new journal. Choose one that feels right for you. Make sure there are enough pages to get you through 9 activities.
  • Some pens and pencils.
  • A small stone to use as a gratitude rock.
  • A larger rock or crystal to use as a guidance stone.
  • A deck of oracle cards.
  • A sense of adventure and a readiness to explore your inner world.

NB: A note on choosing oracle cards – choose cards whose pictures and messages are meaningful to you. Avoid cards such as tarot decks that show only coins or cups etc. Instead choose a deck whose imagery really speaks to you. It’s the pictures that matter. Don’t worry if you don’t know how to use them. I’ll be showing you.

That’s my own journal, cards and stones in the picture below. I’ll be right beside you doing each week’s activities too. My gratitude rock is a small citrine, and my guidance stone is a labradorite. The oracle cards I’ll be using are Colette Baron-Reid’s Enchanted Map cards

Who’s in? Pop your name in the comments or let us know over on facebook. If you post a pic on the facebook page during this challenge, you’ll be in the running to win a cool prize! Stay tuned for directions.

Much love, Nicole <3 xx

How to Be An Everyday Mystic

Image from thebluefish.com

Image from thebluefish.com

“Rituals are like electrically powered transmitters sending stimulating sparks of electric current or inspirational feelings that connect us to our inner being or soul.”
~ Wes Adamson

Who doesn’t want to embrace their inner mystic? We want to be able to listen to our intuition, and to call on energies that help us find the right path, make better choices and summon forth clarity and direction.

We want to be in that place of flow.

But flow takes work, right?

So we make all kinds of rules and commitments. I will journal thirty minutes every day. I will meditate every Sunday for two hours, and each morning after my sun salutes. I will raw food, stand-on-my-head, honour the four directions, utter the magical affirmations, work on my yoga, do my deep breathing, consult my oracle, practice gratitude, heal all my everythings, fix myself for ten focused minutes, love myself unconditionally – even on bad hair days or after overt calorie consumption, and green juice twice daily. All while doing all the other everythings I need to get done each day.

Sigh.

No wonder we get overwhelmed, off track and downright resentful of this thing that could be a source of comfort, support and, dare I say it, pleasure in our lives.

Too often we complicate things.

Especially when it comes to spiritual and self-development.

So today I have a suggestion that comes from long experience. My own. And that of my students and clients who now also practice this simple technique.

Put your spiritual toolkit together. Put your cards and runes, your crystals and essential oils, your journal and smudge sticks or incense or whatever else you use in a place where you will see and use them.

2012-09-01 10.32.54

If you travel, create a little grab-bag of stuff to take with you when you’re mobile.

When you make these things central in your life you will be more inclined to use them as a natural part of your day, rather than some kind of imposed ritual intended to make you more spiritual or intuitive.

Go to your tools when you feel drawn to them. Play with them. Hang out with them. Practice using them. Do things that help you to feel more in flow, by being in flow rather than forcing it.

Some simple ideas to add to your everyday mystic practice:

  • Take a moment and just breathe. BE in awareness as you draw air into and then out of your lungs. It only takes a minute to bring you back into your body and being in the moment.
  • Light a stick of incense. Let it be a sacred act to purify and bless your surroundings and you.
  • Pause in front of your sacred space and offer up a prayer, or draw some positive energy into your body.
  • Choose a favourite crystal and hold it for a moment or pop it in your pocket.
  • Make a cuppa and write in your journal for five minutes.
  • Go sit in the sun with your journal and read through it for five minutes, reflecting on what you’ve written.
  • Play with your singing bowl, singing bell, magical flute or other funky sound-inspired wonder.
  • Gaze on a positive affirmation or saying and really think on it for a minute.
  • Draw a card for the day and spend a minute to think about what that card means for you.
  • Select an essential oil and apply or diffuse it.
  • Read a section from an inspiring book.
  • Stand with your bare feet on the ground and just BE with the earth for a moment or two.

This way these simple rituals will become a natural part of your daily life, and create pathways that lead us deeper into ourselves and our true nature, as well as pathways that connect us to our guides, angels and the Divine.
