The outdoor Christmas lights, green and red and gold and blue and twinkling, remind me that most people are that way all year round – kind, generous, friendly and with an occasional moment of ecstasy. But Christmas is the only time they dare reveal themselves.

Hey, Lovelies.
Last night Ben took me for the loveliest surprise. We went driving around the neighbourhood to look at all the Christmas lights.
I can’t think of the last time we did something like that, and it was magical!
So many family had gone to an enormous amount of effort to decorate their houses and yards with sparkling lights, inflatable decorations, signs and all kinds of festive goodness. I think of all of the detangling of long strings of lights, and all of the checking of bulbs and the climbing of ladders that must have gone on in order to stage that those spectacular displays and I feel a heart-swell of gratitude. What a magnanimous gesture of love and good will. 🙏🎅💖
We’re already planning another night-time drive to visit more Christmas light displays in neighbourhoods near us.
I fall in love with the Sunshine Coast a little more every day!
Love, twinkles and fairy lights, Nicole xx
My house is a shambles and doesn’t look Christmas like
