Old Fashioned Coping Skills – Monday Oracle 11 August 2025

“The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls”.
― Pablo Picasso

Hello, Lovelies!

This Quarter I am using the The Rooted Woman Oracle by Sharon Blackie, illustrated by Hannah Willow, for my weekly oracle readings.

Our card to guide us for the week ahead is 15 RECLAIMING THE FEMININE

2025 is a year for pattern breaking, deep healing, mysticism and new directions.

August energies are all about healing the mess – facing the things that need fixing, and then gently parenting yourself to get them done, or finding someone to help you or do it for you.

✨Monday Oracle: Reclaiming the Feminine – Healing Through Hands & Heart

This week’s card, Reclaiming the Feminine, comes as a soft but steady reminder: when life feels messy, heavy, or overwhelming, healing doesn’t always come from “thinking our way through.”
Sometimes, the way back to balance is through the hands.

In a month where our focus is healing the mess, this week asks us to soothe overwhelm, fatigue, and anxiety with acts of practical magic — not the kind with wands and spells, but the simple, tangible kind you can touch, smell, taste, and see.

💖 Why It Works

When we make, bake, and create, we anchor ourselves in the moment. We give our restless minds something to focus on that is rhythmic, repetitive, and nourishing.
This is soul medicine for anyone who’s been feeling tired, anxious, or adrift.

💖 This Week, Try:

💖 The Magic of Making Together

There’s something mystical about working alongside others, even if each of you is doing your own thing. The rhythm of hands in motion, quiet conversation, and shared presence creates a kind of healing hum — a reminder that we are not alone, that life can still be beautiful and connected.

🙏🏻 Gentle Reflection:

💗 This week, your healing doesn’t need to be complicated. It just needs to be real, tangible, and done with love. Let your hands guide your heart home.

🌟 Top Tip of the Week:

Make time this week for one simple, hands-on activity that soothes you. Whether it’s stirring a pot of soup, threading beads, kneading bread dough, or sketching in a notebook — let your hands take the lead.

Bonus: If you can, do it in gentle company. Sit with a friend, join a craft group, or simply work side-by-side with someone you love (pets count here!). Shared quiet creativity has a way of multiplying the healing.

Here at the Treehouse this past week it’s been… different.

As most of you know, I am currently in Facebook Jail – my accounts are suspended and I no longer have access to my profile, work pages or groups. At first I was upset, then angry, then anxious. Then… well… I sank into the quiet.

It was

SO

QUIET.

I usually get up to 100 Messenger messages a day.
There are always new Facebook posts that tag me or where I am asked to comment, group posts that require attention, and so often when I go online to post something of my own I end up reading other posts, commenting or watching things of interest. What a time suck! Worse, there were always toxic posts and toxic attitudes (not within our community and groups, but unavoidable if you accessed the platform) and the kind of behaviours and beliefs that engendered stress for me. Facebook has not been a happy experience recently, but I always told myself it was a necessary one.

Last week, with zero distractions, I got so much more creative work done.

My headspace was quieter and happier. I found extra time to bake and craft and make soup.

I went to bed with less stress, and I woke with a greater sense of space in my life.

Like I said, it’s been different.

In a funny-not-funny way I had put out to the Universe only a day before my Facebook suspension that ‘This isn’t working for me. Universe, you have to find me a better way!’

I am sure this is the Universe’s way of funnelling me into new directions, and opening up new vistas of thought that would never have otherwise happened.

So, watch this space. I fully acknowledge that I still need to be online, and to have ways to engage with our community but I think it might be time to explore alternatives. I know many of you are spending less and less time on social media platforms, and I think that’s healthy. I certainly have found it to be.

Wishing you a week of quiet creativity, real life or real-time online connection, and a chance to catch your breath as you Heal the Mess (Our August theme!),
Love, Lemon Slice, and crafty magic, Nicole xx
