“For things to change, you have to change.”
~ Jim Rohn, The Art of Exceptional Living

There’s change in the air. We’re finally shifting away from those old energies, those old patterns, and into the beginnings of a new space.

Change is always a little chaotic, and it can be unsettling and uncomfortable. But change also gives us our best shot at growth and at creating lives that are more satisfying and meaningful.

Today, we’re going to welcome the energy of change into our lives. We’re going to invite it in, and then dance with that energy.

Are you ready?

Over the next eight weeks we will work together to embrace this change, and to make it work for us. I’ve designed this program so that as you work with positive change you begin to anchor it into your lives.

Let’s start with our Embracing Change Toolkit.

1) Take out your large journal (or the electronic device of your choice!). On a clean page write the following:

Dear Universe,

All of my life I have wanted to move in this new direction. I have felt it calling me, I have felt it just beyond my reach, although I have not always been able to clearly define that place or what it might mean for me.

I have always known that I was destined for more – being more, loving more, sharing more, having more.

Although I am uncertain, although I still cannot name all the changes I desire, my heart is open to them if they be for my Highest Good.

Today I honour my yearning for change, and I offer it up to you, trusting that I will be guided to discover the next steps, that I will be drawn to inspiration and opportunity, and that I can create a life for myself which is more expansive, more aligned to my purpose, more in flow.

My commitment to you is that for the next 8 weeks (and beyond) I am willing to explore and open to the possibilities of change, and to celebrate the many Blessings I already enjoy.

With love and gratitude,

_____________________________________

(insert your own name here)

This large journal is where we will do all of our musing, exploring and pondering. It’s also where we’ll write our homework answers, and place our inspired thoughts and ideas.

2) Now take your small journal (or electronic device). On a clean page write:

This Blessings Book is the property of

_____________________________________

(insert your own name here)

Each day, write down three blessings in your life – three simple things that you are grateful for. The Blessing can be anything for which you are thankful.  It can be a big thing or a small thing, it can be from the present or the past, but you must be sincere in having gratitude for this thing in your life. You can do this at any time during the day, but do it every day! Try to come up with new things each day. The more you look, the easier this gets.

Write them like this: Today I am thankful for (the blessing) because (write down a simple reason). eg: Today I am grateful for my dog because he always gives me so much love.

When we count our Blessings we are inviting positive energy into our lives and putting ourselves into a receptive and abundant state of mind.

3) Using your eight little rocks: (PS: Don’t you love these little heart-shaped rocks that were given to me by my beautiful friend Nerida!)

2013-08-11 10.49.20

Select your first rock as an Affirmation Stone. This week you can carry it around with you, or place it somewhere where you can see and hold it every day. Each week the process will be the same, but using a different stone.

Pick your first rock and hold it in your hands. Now think of something in your life that you want to change. Affirm that as a statement of declaration to the Universe.

Here are some examples:

I choose Health.

I choose to have Boundless Energy.

I choose Abundance.

I choose Positive Cash Flow.

I choose to be Loved.

Each day hold that stone in your hands and repeat your declaration, out loud, or in your mind. You can do this just once, or as many times as you like. Say your declaration with enthusiasm and commitment. This simple act of declaration begins to align you with this energy, opening you to more of this thing in your life.

4) Working with your Gratitude Rock:

gratitude-rock

The Gratitude Rock anchors positive energy and gratitude at the end of every day.  You can carry your stone with you, or leave it beside your bed.  At night, before you go to sleep, hold your Gratitude Rock in your hand.

As you hold the stone say to yourself I am richly Blessed. I have an Abundance of Good in my life.  Then hold in your mind one or more image of a thing you have been grateful for today.  It doesn’t matter if your review your Blessings from your Blessing Book, or add in something new.  Swell that positive energy up in your heart like a beautiful golden light, and give a heart-felt Thank You, Thank You, Thank You to the Universe. Visualise a tiny shower of golden light travelling from your heart into your Gratitude Rock.

Now here’s the fun bit – imagine all of the other people who are taking part in this Positive Change Program with us – people from all over the world, just like you. Once again build up a strong positive energy in your heart, and then imagine shooting a stream of golden light out into the Universe to those people.

Say Thank you.  I Bless You.  I intend for you Positive Change, Love, Miracles and Abundance. Know that as you are saying this for them, they are also saying this for you. Feel that connection and gratitude and know that there is real love and support for you here. Place your rock back beside your bed, and go to sleep, cocooned in this good energy.

5) Homework

Change works best through action! To complete this Program allow a window of thirty minutes each week to complete your homework, plus five minutes at the beginning or end of every day. That will give you time to work on any activities I set you, to record your three daily Blessings, and to use your Gratitude Rock and Affirmation Stone.

journal-writing-11

This week, explore these questions in your journal. Don’t over-think it. Just let the words flow onto the page. Write as little or as much as feels right.

Tree Oracle Reading for Embracing Change

“It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon men’s hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air that emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit.”  ~ Robert Louis Stevenson

Trees have long been known as Sacred Guardians of the Earth. Old trees are like wise old souls, full of an energy of calm and clarity. Today’s Tree Oracle images have been chosen specifically to help advise and guide you as you navigate through these current energies of change.

The energies of 2012 and all that went before are finally fading. Fresh possibilities are opening up for each of us. Opportunities for us to branch out in new directions.

Let each image speak to you in its own way.  One of them will have wisdom just for you!

Instructions for using today’s post

Scroll down through the following Tree images and then let yourself come back to the one you are most drawn to.

When you have chosen your Tree, scroll further down for your message. Take what resonates for you, and apply it in your life over the coming weeks.

Trust that you will be shown what you most need to know right now.

Love and Light,

♥ The Message and Gift of each Tree ♥

Each Tree image has a message for you. I have also selected a crystal to best support the message and energies of your chosen Tree.  You could wear or hold this crystal, pop it in your pocket, under your pillow or beside your bed. (If you’d like to know more about working with crystals click here.) The Action Step is a tangible step you can take to begin anchoring these energies of positive change in your life.

1.  Mystic River Tree:

♥ Message – It’s time to let your Inner Wisdom Shine. Why are you making this so hard for yourself? Relax and take a deep breath. You don’t have to reinvent yourself, or even the path you need to take. Teaching, communicating, guiding, healing, sharing. That’s your thing. The Mystic River Tree shows you that the world is like a mirror: reflecting back to you others whom you can use as role models; messages, ideas and techniques you can use on your journey; and reminding you to share your own gifts and talents with the world. You overwhelm yourself with the bigness of the task, when all beginnings have always started in humble ways, and small sharings. From little things, big things grow.

♥ Crystal – Clear Quartz

♥ Action Step – Break your ideas down into small do-able tasks and find a role model (in your own field or even just someone that you’re drawn to) so that you can learn from what they are doing. Pick one simple thing and make a start!

2.  Night and Day Tree:

♥ Message – You’re being called to move in a brand new direction. Don’t throw in your day job just yet though. For now, have gratitude for the security the known brings. It’s okay to stay in the job, the home, the relationship… No one but you need know of your plans for future change if it doesn’t feel right to share your hopes and dreams just yet. It is possible, for a time, to devote energy to two things – completion of the old, and beginnings of the new. These gentle beginnings will be so much less stressful if you allow the Universe to support you as you continue on your current path, while you create the foundations for a path that will one day take you in a whole new direction.

♥ Crystal – Citrine

Action Step – Attend to your security. Whether it’s emotional, financial, health, family, spiritual or a combination of all of those things – ensure that the bills are paid, that the pressure comes off, and that this sense of security can then allow you to take baby steps towards your ultimate transformation. Now is not the time for risks. Make sure those immediate foundations are strong.

3.  Radiant Maple Tree:

♥ Message – Embracing the possibility of earning an income from your gifts and talents. You know what? You’re the real deal. Your ideas are sound. You’re coming from a place of integrity, what you have to share is wanted in the world. But… you have no confidence, no belief in your abilities, and you aren’t backing yourself when it counts. The Universe has just issued an invitation to you. It’s time! Trust, charge what you’re worth, offer up your gifts and talents, find some mentors and support and then plunge in. Your time is now. Begin!

♥ Crystal – Red Jasper

Action Step – Confidence through action. We can’t wait for confidence to come, we need to act in order to DEVELOP that confidence in ourselves and our abilities. Identify some action that clearly shows the Universe you are open and ready for business, no matter how humble that beginning may be.

4.  Grove of Power:

♥ Message – You need a team – it’s so much easier than trying to do this all  on your own. Just because you CAN do it, doesn’t mean that you HAVE to do it. The next step in your growth is to create that support network. There are few people who have succeeded entirely on their own efforts. Don’t be afraid to draw people to you who can help you become all you desire to be. Teachers, associates, affiliates, mentors, spiritual guides, assistants, health care professionals, accountants, researchers, house cleaners, child minders, dog walkers, whatever it is that you need – look for ways that others can advise you, build your skills or free up your time, leaving you more opportunities to do what you do best.

♥ Crystal – Sodalite

Action Step – Delegation. No-one can do everything themselves. Find one small area that you are ready to hand over to someone else, and act on that. Practice allowing yourself to be open to support in all its forms.

5.  Sacred Companions Tree:

♥ Message – Trust! There is great connection and love on its way to you. This may take the form of a love relationship, a friendship, a mentor, a pet, or even a child. For some it may also include those from the spirit realms. Open your heart. Breathe in Love. Accept healing and hope. Know that this life is a journey meant to be shared.

♥ Crystal – Amethyst

Action Step – Get clear about what you want! Write a list for the Universe. What is your heart’s innermost desire for companionship? What are you ready to heal or let go of? What are you now ready to call in to your life? Be as specific as feels right for you.

6.  Nightscape Tree:

♥ Message – Have patience – you’re a work in progress and it’s all still unfolding. The ways of the Universe can be both gentle and profound. Expect to feel a readiness for change without knowing what that change may be. Inspiration and guidance will come to you in many forms, including dreams, cards, personal messengers, music and books. Know that your intuition and Divine Synchronicity will lead you in unexpected but wonderful directions. Stay open. Stay alert and watchful, but calm… All is well.

♥ Crystal – Moonstone

Action Step – Journalling, visualisation and meditation will begin to reveal the path to you. Spend time on your own, and trust that the vision for your future will unfold piece by precious piece.

7.  Socotra Dragon Blood Tree:

♥ Message – Build scaffolds for your ideas. Create structure for your passions. Passion and keen interest is a sacred energy that aligns you with your heart’s purpose. But passion without structure cannot create stable foundations or a sustainable future.  Right now you need a plan. And from that plan you need to create structure. A routine. Goals. Priorities. Not to make life harder, but to ensure that you can make your dreams reality.  A brilliant time for study, new undertakings and all forms of renovations for the body, mind, spirit and career.

♥ Crystal – Ruby or Ruby in Zoisite

Action Step – Plan, diarise, investigate and organise. Determine your short and long term goals and then break those goals down into smaller achievable steps and targets. Implement those plans. Reassess often.

8: Star of Hope Tree:

♥ Message – Now is a time of endings. Patterns are being broken, hard times and suffering shall fall away. You are called upon to have courage, to look deep into your own heart and to let go of all that is holding you back. Know that you will not remain empty-handed for long. Sometimes we need to put our burdens down first, before we can pick up something new that will be more suited to our needs, talents and energies. Ask for help if it is needed. Seek professional guidance and emotional support, call upon your Guides, Angels, Ancestors and God, whatever you perceive that energy to be.

♥ Crystal – Smoky Quartz

Action Step – Identify a habit, relationship or pattern that you are ready to change.  Look for guidance in bringing about that change. Research, find support and actively seek to create something new that better serves you.

The Importance of Living from Your Heart Right Now!

Image from www.aflourishinglife.com

Image from www.aflourishinglife.com

“Imagine all the people living life in peace. You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one. I hope someday you’ll join us, and the world will be as one.”

~ John Lennon

Have you noticed it?  Maybe it’s you, maybe it’s the people around you, being a bit scratchy, reactive or less than loving? Don’t worry, it’s the last of 2012 going out with a bang.

2012 marked the end of an Age for mankind and our planet. 2013 is the beginning of a whole new energy.  And right now we’re feeling the last tetchy remnants of that old energy sliding away. You might even be grieving for it a little right now. Even when it’s right to move on, we still sometimes mourn what was, or grieve for those lost opportunities.

Sure, some of you will be already in a place of clarity. Some of you will already be in your heart. It might just be everyone else around you bringing you down.

But for some of you, well, your life might look messy.  The shit might be hitting the fan. Or you might be questioning things that a week ago looked solid and good.

It’s okay. It will pass, and when it does you’ll move into a much better space of clarity and flow.

But don’t feel powerless right now. You can help. How? Live from your heart, even as you speak your truth. Make a conscious effort to come from a place of kindness, wisdom and grace. Be the calming balm that soothes the itch, and the still waters that quench the raging fire. That’s what it is to be a Lightworker. You bring light and love to dark places.

Welcoming 2013

“I have always been delighted at the prospect of a new day, a fresh try, one more start, with perhaps a bit of magic waiting somewhere behind the morning. ”

~ J. B. Priestley

I know the calendar says that we’re already into February, but from an energetic point of view today, 2nd February, is really the very first day of 2013. (Read more about the energy of 2013 by clicking here.)

It’s an unusually quiet morning down at my farm, and the air is thick with fragrant smoke from all the burning piles of green vegetation knocked down during last week’s storms.  It smells a little like a giant incense stick burning, so I consider 2013 well smudged into being.

Today is a beautiful day for some quiet reflection and journalling to set the tone for your year ahead. I’ve also prepared a short guided meditation for you to help you focus your thoughts and energies.

Guided Meditation

This 7 minute meditation will help you to step into the vibration of this new year.  It was recorded at my farm at dawn this morning, so you’ll also hear the cacophony of frogs, birds, cows, baby magpies and hungy owl chicks. They’re adding their special energies to this meditation too.  To listen, all you need to do is click on the link below:

Dragging your tail into 2013? Maybe its not you…

“When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hang on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn.”  ~ Harriet Beecher Stowe

So here we are in 2013. It’s shaping up to be a great year.  If you haven’t checked it out already here’s what I have to say about 2013 here:

2013 – Guidance For The Year Ahead

But maybe you’re just not feeling it yet. Maybe you’re feeling a little lost, exhausted, down, directionless, or simply without the passion you’d like to be bringing into a new year.

Well guess what?

It’s not you. And you’re not alone.

You’ll be comforted to know that we’re still in the throes of that big ol’ energy of 2012. It’s been a huge year, and for many, a tough one. Right now we’re still in that mop-up place.  Tidying up loose ends, cleaning up the mess, catching our breath…

2013’s magic doesn’t even begin to kick in until early February. So if you’re just not feeling it yet, if you haven’t got the New Year Mojo, take comfort.

I created a meditation a while ago especially for this – for letting go of 2012 and putting it behind us.  Here’s the link:

A Guided Meditation for the End of 2012

Yami drinking Tea by splitterDreams at ww.splitterDreams.deviantart.com

Yami drinking Tea by splitterDreams at www.splitterDreams.deviantart.com

And for now there is plenty that you can do to make the most of this time of transition.  Here are some suggestions:

  • Rest. Don’t go launching into new projects just yet. Instead use this time to put positive changes in place that will support you to make the most of the opportunities available to you in 2013. Look after your health, and clean up the remnants of 2012.  Potter around.  Go slow.  It’s okay to do that right now.
  • Plan. Planning is a very worthwhile exercise.  Spend some time thinking about what you want to put into place this year. Journal that.  Make lists from that.  Get clear in your head about where you’re going, even though you haven’t started yet.  What learning might you need?  What resources?  What time frames? What support and connections? What space will you use?
  • Tidy.  Yep, you heard me right.  Go through your cupboards.  Get your desk in order.  Weed the flower bed.  Plant vegetables.  Find a cleaner or a gardener.  Get ready for the new year.
  • Meditate.  Spend time in nature.  Nurture your connection with God, Oneness, the Universe, Guides, Guardian Angels, Earth or whatever you call that Greater Energy in our lives.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 1:1

The New Year – most people try to jam it full of resolutions.  All the things you are going to do.  All the things you are no longer going to do.

It’s become quite vogue-ish to create lists of resolutions for the key areas of your life. A list for finances, family, health, spirituality, matters of the heart, interests and hobbies, professional and personal development.

I don’t know about you, but for me that’s a little exhausting.

And another thing…

How am I ever going to remember all of those resolutions in my ‘key’ areas?

This year, I’ve ditched the resolutions. Instead I’m going with a far simpler system. I’ve narrowed my resolutions down to one word.

Every time I think of that word I am reminded of my intentions for 2013. I can hold that word up and use it to evaluate almost all of my actions, so that I can determine if I am moving towards or away from the energy of this word, this quality I want more of in my life.

My personal Power Word in 2013 is HEALTH. Now let’s work out what your word is.

JOURNAL ACTIVITY

journal-writing-11Finding your Power Word for 2013 is simply a matter of exploring what’s important to you. Is there a recurrent theme in your life you’d like to put more attention to, an area you’d like to shine in, or a dream that never gets air time?

Use the following Questions to help you arrive at your own Power Word or Power Phrase ( a Power Phrase has more than one word!)

  1. What’s the one key area of your life, that if you put purpose, passion and action to, would move you to a better place by the year’s end? Only choose one area. If you actually make all the change and improvement you need before the year is finished you can give yourself a well-deserved break, or choose another word!
  2. If you had this change in your life, what would your life look like?
  3. Write a list of positive words and phrases that embody for you the quality, activities, knowledge and actions of this key area. Is there one simple word or phrase that sums up this energy for you?

list-of-positive-words

Once you have your Power Word, commit it to memory. Write it in your diary. Place it on post-it-notes around your house, make it your screen saver – in short immerse yourself in this word, and the meaning of this word for you.

Let this one word remind you about what’s important to you this year.  Let this one word help you transform your life!

2013 – Guidance for the Year Ahead

Happy New Year and welcome to the energies of 2013!  New Year’s Day is always a special time for me. I like to welcome the day with meditation,  a walk at the beach, and a swim in the ocean (one of the benefits of it being summer in Australia right now). Then over the course of the day I contemplate my year ahead, asking for spiritual guidance, and writing in my journal.

I have one tarot deck that I use only for the first day of the new year.  I have done this for over 20 years, and it is something I look forward to as a touchstone to set the themes of my year so that I might live with greater awareness and understanding.  I don’t use it as a predictive tool – rather I use it for reflection, and to seek guidance about qualities, actions and perspectives that might benefit me over the next twelve months.

This morning I asked for one card for you – to give YOU guidance over the year ahead.  This is my personal interpretation of that card for you.  Take what resonates as truth for you, and discard the rest.

The EMPEROR – Insights for 2013

trump_04_theemperor

In 2012 our focus was on huge change and growth, but that change and growth was within us, and our immediate surrounds and relationships. We weathered many challenges and always the emphasis came back to the personal and internal.

2013 is a foundation year of growth and positive change, where we are reflecting these energies out from ourselves as we inhabit a place of stronger authenticity, awareness and connection. This year, as we sit in our personal power, we will feel a desire to contribute, to explore, to dream up new ways of being, and to action those dreams in the world.  It is a time for visionaries, leaders and the building of lasting change.

Take time to reflect on what you have learned from the crucible of 2012.  What are your strengths, your weaknesses, your passions and desires?  What do you want more of? Less of? Use this information as a map for your future.

This next year will see opportunities for you to set or rebuild the foundations for stability and financial security again – for yourself and family, and within your community, business or country. As you begin to feel secure, it will feel natural to extend a helping hand to others, and so the cycle of growth and kindness will spiral outwards in many manifestations.

2013 is a year for inspired vision – the vision we hold for ourselves, and the vision we hold for the world around us.  Many leaders and positive movements will be born from this energy, and those with a yearning to serve and to shape will have ample opportunity to do so.

It will no longer work for us to be engaged in activities ‘just for the money’.  We will only find satisfaction as our hearts, our intellects, our values are integrated into how we live and the way we operate in the world. We will feel compelled to make decisions and to take actions that reflect our vision, and we will have a strong need to make the world a better place – at home, and then further afield.

2013 is a year for developing our skills and our craft – be it a creative, personal or spiritual path. You’ll discover a strength within you, and it will no longer serve you to live a life that is categorised by fear, doubt and limitation.  Forge partnerships, find your tribe, align yourself with mentors and courses and resources that encourage and support your growth, or be that supportive teacher for others!

Creating a sense of richness and inspiration through the arts, culture, nature, time, relationships, travel, and your own creative endeavours can make this a landmark year for you. Let go of relationships and pursuits that are empty and meaningless and focus your precious time on what lights you up.

Allow yourself to be a bold explorer of life this year.  Blaze a trail. Think outside the square.  Lend your voice and your energy to the things you are passionate about.  Be part of this powerful force of change.

Cultivate a sense of personal responsibility, make a plan and be open to new opportunities that come your way. This year you are being empowered to make your life work, and for it to look more like the life you dream for yourself.  This will take courage and action, but with these two qualities so much is possible.

2013 is the beginning of a new age – so get ready to make the most of this transformative energy and be part of this global vibration of change.

It’s time to remember…

Manifesting a Positive 2013 – An Invitation to Join Me

new-year-2013-fireworks-desktop-wallpapers1

“New Year’s eve is like every other night; there is no pause in the march of the universe, no breathless moment of silence among created things that the passage of another twelve months may be noted; and yet no man has quite the same thoughts this evening that come with the coming of darkness on other nights.”  ~ Hamilton Wright Mabie

New Year’s Eve. For so many people it’s a night of revelry and celebration, for some it’s a night of sheer underwhelm or expectations not met, and for others it’s just another night…

Australia is one of the first countries to see in the New Year. And Byron Bay does know how to throw a party!  But tonight you won’t find me there. I’ll be home at my farm, enjoying a quiet dinner with friends, before I sit down in meditation to welcome in the energies of 2013.

It will be a big meditation session – two or three hours, finishing with a simple fire ritual. I’ll be focussed on holding a positive intent for myself, for you, and for the world for the unfolding of this important year – 2013.

Small_bonfire

I’d love for you to join with me, adding your energy and presence to my own. I promise it will be an easy thing for you to do.

Each year I offer up a wish for myself, and a wish for the world.  I write each of them on separate pieces of paper, and the messages I write then hold some of the shape of my meditation.  At the end of my meditation, I burn each wish, letting the energy of my hopes and prayers be carried up into the atmosphere in the heat and smoke of the fire.

It’s always been a powerful practice. And now you can be a part of it too.  Simply add your wish for yourself and your wish for the world as a comment at the bottom of this post.

Do it just like this: My wish for myself is……  My wish for the world is…..

If you’d like more privacy you can send me a message on facebook, or email me at cauldronsandcupcakes@gmail.com

I’ll print out your wishes, and add them to my own. The only person who will see them is me. (And the Universe, of course…)  I’ll hold that space for you in my meditations, and I’ll burn your messages in my New Year’s Eve fire.

I promise to hold the energy of this space (and my fire) for a full 24 hours from my own walk into 2013. That way none of you will miss out.

Together, our collective good thoughts, wishes and intentions shall help shape a 2013 that begins in love, well wishes and positive energy.  What can be better than that?

Love and Blessings to you, ♥ Nicole xx

A Guided Meditation for the end of 2012

setting-sun

“Every ending is a new beginning.” ~ Proverb

2012 has been such a big year, as we all knew it would be.  So today I’ve recorded a simple guided meditation for you, to help you release the closing energies of this year, ready to welcome the positive shift that is heralded by 2013.

All you need to do is sit comfortably, close your eyes, and listen to my voice guiding you through the process.  You’ll find it easy, even if you’ve never really meditated before.  The most important thing is to relax, and be easy in your body, and have an intention of being open in heart and mind.

The following meditation takes approximately fifteen minutes, although you may stay in that space longer, if you wish. Just click on the link below.

Nicole Cody’s Guided Meditation for Releasing 2012

Sending you Blessings, Love and Light, ♥ Nicole xx
