Awakening to your Truth – Monday Oracle, 13 November 2017

You were born a child of light’s wonderful secret— you return to the beauty you have always been.
~AberjhaniVisions of a Skylark Dressed in Black

Hello, Lovelies!

November is a month for knowing ourselves deeply, for healing old hurts and for prioritising and redesigning our lives so that they better represent the person we are and the person we want to become.

Keep that in mind as we look at the gifts which the oracle card Renewal brings us.

It’s a special week, this week. In the northern hemisphere on August 21 of this year there was a total solar eclipse. That momentary quietening of the sun’s energies allowed a ramping up of our intuition.

The eclipse also heralded an intense period of connection and integration – a period known as The Deepening, which supported us on our soul-awakening journey until today – the morning of November 13, when Venus joins Jupiter in our sky, creating an energy that thunderbolts us into a place of harmony, connection and expansion that has been previously unknown to us.

So now here we are, at the dawn of this week. Renewal shows us what’s in store for us.

Image of Venus and Jupiter by Marek Nikodem

As the deepening of our intuition stabilises, we find ourselves expanded somehow. We’re at the threshold of a new personal era. Our hidden hopes and dreams, our rich inner world, the absolute substance of who we are – these things can no longer be hidden inside us. This week we see that the richness we have held inside us for so long is beginning to stream from us in ever-strengthening rays of soul light, that will illuminate our path ahead, that will illuminate us to like-minded souls and to life’s possibilities and opportunities that are better matched to this inner self than to the old life we had been living. In essence, we can no longer live inauthentically, and even if we do, cracks will appear. The truth must come out. What has been hidden must be brought into the light.

Renewal shows us that our soul wisdom already knows what we are good at, what makes us happy, what is meaningful to us, what lights us up. All we have to do to navigate that is to tune in and trust our intuitive wise self. We’ll find clues everywhere about how to live a happier and more fulfilled life.

It’s our job now to act on these clues. We need to make choices and take actions that bring us into alignment with this inner world of ours, so that our inner world also becomes our outer world instead of living in schism – where who we are on the outside is often wildly different to that soul essence we hide away inside us, for fear that living as that person will destroy our life, make us unlovable, leave us judged and rejected.

Renewal gives us hope, and reminds us that it is always better to be true to ourselves. The Deepening has put us in touch with that self. Our only path now is to keep living and making changes that bring us further and further into alignment.

This week you’ll feel this urge for realignment in every cell of your body. Renewal reminds us that we’ll know where to focus first. We may need to embrace technology or finally act on our health situation, perhaps we need to set up an art corner or end a relationship or go sign up to a class. You’ll feel it as an idea inside you. When you think of that idea, even if it brings fear or worry as you imagine making space of this thing in your life, it will also make you feel lighter and better as you imagine yourself having or being that thing. That feeling of relief, lightness and hope is your compass. Use that to navigate the days ahead.

(Note: If you’re in my Year of ME membership program I’ll be doing a webinar and channelling tomorrow night about the energies we are stepping into post this Venus-Jupiter conjunction. Check your inbox later today for details. Not in my membership program? Doors open again in early December.)

Supportive crystals this week?

Iolite illuminates your depths and helps you to see what’s hiding, and what you’re not seeing – a beautiful stone for boosting self-belief. It’s an unusual stone, but my pick for this week. Green Aventurine opens you out into possibility, tapping you into the joy of living and that wonderful feeling of gratitude. Any double-terminated crystal or cluster of crystals from the quartz family (think clear quartz, smoky, amethyst or citrine) placed in your workspace or the room where you spend most of your time will amplify these inner rays of soul-energy, helping you to recognise them and helping yourself and others to transform easily and with grace and joy.

Helpful essential oils?

Young Living’s Acceptance and Joy essential oil blends would be my picks for this week. Use Acceptance for emotional healing – diffusing anger and pain, ending procrastination and opening to new directions and opportunities. Joy opens our hearts and helps us to re-engage with the flow of life. It is uplifting, comforting and empowering. Dab a drop of either oil on your Crown Chakra, back of neck, wrists and the soles of your feet, inhale directly or add to your diffuser.

Want to make your own blend? Each of the following oils will work beautifully on their own for you this month, but they’ll also make a delicious combination for diffusing. Vetiver will calm and ground us, promoting emotional balance, Lavender keeps us in flow and relaxed,  Ylang Ylang opens our hearts and is supportive when we feel anxious or overwhelmed, and Bergamot for joy, gratitude and optimism.  To diffuse add 2 or three drops of each oil to your room or personal diffuser. You can find the oils here.

Holding you, as always, in my thoughts, prayers and meditations, and intending for you a life of abundance and joy, where you are no longer limited by your doubts.

All my love,

Nicole ❤ xx

PS: Monday’s oracle card, ‘Renewal’, is from the Chakra Wisdom Oracle Deck by Tori Hartman. I use any cards shown as a prompt for channelled messages and my own intuitive wisdom, so my take is sometimes quite different to the meaning found in a book.

How to use Intuition to Access Your Psychic Abilities

“Cease trying to work everything out with your minds. It will get you nowhere. Live by intuition and inspiration and let your whole life be Revelation.”
Eileen Caddy

We all have intuitive abilities – intuition is a glorious part of our human condition.  Problem is, most of us don’t know how to use it.

Today I’m going to take myself right back to the beginning. I’ll share with you some of the stronger intuitive moments I had before I began to really work with my psychic abilities.  I hope that by sharing them, you’ll be better able to recognise these moments in your own lives.  These aren’t fancy or sophisticated.  These are raw moments that led me to a different decision, understanding or action than if I’d just been coming from my head.

The more you listen to your intuition, the more your body attunes to those messages. It begins to heighten your sensitivity. This then begins to develop your extraordinary sensory perception (ESP) and opens the door to your psychic capabilities. All of the small messages to which we pay attention pave the way for the stronger and more important messages to come.

Intuition and gut instinct communicate with us in so many ways. You might get a flash of strong emotion, an image or a movie in your head, a feeling in your body, a sense of deja vu.  You might have an incredibly vivid dream, or a waking dream. Or, you might just know…

Here are some of my own experiences, as a guide for you.

Some of them weren’t about positive things:

In primary school I woke up in the middle of the night because something was wrong.  I could smell smoke, and I felt very anxious. I padded through the house in my pyjamas, but everyone was asleep and everything was as it should be. I climbed back into bed and all I could think about was a girl I knew at school. I wondered if she was angry with me.  The next morning I found out that her house had burned down in the middle of the night.  They were all okay. And their house was too far away from mine for me to have heard a siren or to have smelled anything.  They lost everything.

Early in high school, I had a creepy feeling about a family friend. While everyone else liked him, he made me incredibly uneasy. To me his eyes looked ‘too bright’ – like a bird’s eyes’s somehow, always watching, and watching too intensely. Although I couldn’t explain it, I felt very unsafe around him, and I felt that he was full of secrets. Nothing could convince me that he was a nice guy. I could ‘feel’ a wrongness about him somehow.  One day when I was left at home alone with him (he was working as a tradesman and I was home sick from school) he tried to sexually assault me. Mum came home unexpectedly, and I made sure after that to never be around him alone.  Years later, he went to prison – convicted of serial pedophilia and child pornography crimes, mostly against very young boys.

During a university break, a friend asked me to travel north to pick up a car she had just purchased.  We would drive it home together, stopping at beaches and interesting places along the way. Initially I said yes. It sounded like fun. But then everything seemed to conspire against me. I couldn’t get time off from work, I got food poisoning, one of my grandparents went to hospital. Nothing was working in my favour. I ended up saying no, but instead of feeling bad, I was flooded with this strange sense of relief. About two days after she left for her journey I got this metallic taste in my mouth, and I could smell something like hot brakes on a car.  Then I had a tumbling sensation, like being on one of those wild rides at a sideshow.  It came and went for about a week, and I found it distressing, but I had no idea what it was all about. Then it just stopped.  A few days later my friend’s parents called to me she had rolled her car on a dirt road heading down  a hill to a remote beach, and been badly injured. She spent months in hospital.

Some of my intuitive experiences have also been about very positive things:

At primary school I sat an examination to win a scholarship to one of Brisbane’s private high schools. Part of the examination required us to write creatively using one of a range of sentences as a starter. The words poured out of me and I just knew they were good. Although I felt unsure about my performance with the rest of the long examination, I was sure about that essay.  I knew it would win me a scholarship.  I felt a great certainty. The day that the letter came, I also knew. I just knew something really good was about to happen.  I felt light and happy all day.  When I came home mum had bought a cake and my grandparents had bought me a posy of flowers. My letter of offer was propped up on the kitchen table beside them. I’d won.

One day I was invited to a costume party.  I had no costume, and no idea where to get one from. I had to drive across town to meet a friend, and for some reason I decided not to take the freeway.  As I drove through a particular suburb, I decided for some inexplicable reason to turn right off the main road.  There in front of me was a massive costume hire place. I felt so very clever! And I found an awesome pirate outfit…

Many of you will already know this story, and it has happened long after I began working with my psychic gifts.  But it shows you how my intuition is still guiding me, even when my mind is somewhere else.  I was shopping, late one scorchingly hot summer afternoon, and I heard a sound like a peeping chicken in the shopping centre carpark. I couldn’t ignore it.  I was compelled to go and investigate, although I needed to get home because I had plans I’d been looking forward to all day. Something made me get out of the car, and go looking for the chicken. Of course it wasn’t a chicken – instead I found a tiny puppy, almost dead from heat and dehydration. I brought him home, and took him to the vet, who didn’t hold out much hope that he would survive the night. He proved everyone wrong, and Bert became a wonderful member of our family.

Beautiful Bert!

All you ever have to do with your intuition is listen, and go with what you are feeling or being shown. The more you use it, the easier it gets.  Intuition becomes stronger. Your senses become attuned to more of the flow of Universal wisdom and energy. We are all intuitive. That is our birthright. Like me, sometimes in life, for no apparent reason, you’ll just know.

Often, as people move into a space of psychic awakening, their daily lives becomes a constant stream of intuitive thoughts and experiences. This can be very confronting or disruptive but it settles down quickly the more that you honour and accept this intuitive aspect of yourself.

How about you? What has happened for you in your life that was guided by intuition? I’d love to know!

Much love to you, Nicole xx

Psychic Connection and Soul Mates – Monday Oracle 3 April 2017

“It is an absolute human certainty that no one can know his own beauty or perceive a sense of his own worth until it has been reflected back to him in the mirror of another loving, caring human being.”
~ John Joseph Powell

Hello, Lovelies!

Here’s the oracle card I have chosen this Monday, and my take on the energetic outlook for the week ahead. I use any oracle or tarot cards shown as a prompt for channelled messages and my own intuitive wisdom, so my take is sometimes quite different to the meaning found in a book. ‘Soulmate’ is from the Chakra Wisdom Oracle Deck by Tori Hartman.

If you read my forecast for April, you’ll remember that April is all about the mind, our thoughts and self-talk. It’s a month for untangling old not-good-enough stories as we identify what’s working, what’s broken and where to from here.

So, what gifts does Soulmate bring for you this week?

It’s a card about connection, wisdom and tuning in.

This card gently reminds us that our head holds our mind as well as our Third Eye and Crown Chakras. Our mind is a lot like a computer. We exist as consciousness outside of our mind. Our mind does not define who we are – our mind is merely a tool and a governing agent for our body and systems.

We are not just our minds. We are also our emotions. We are also our experiences. We are also our intuition. We are souls having human experiences. Our Crown and Third Eye Chakras are gateways for Universal Flow. We are so much more than just our minds. And EVERYONE is made this way.

This is a big week for intuition and spiritual awareness. It’s a week where inspiration will come, where dreams will hold answers, where spiritual and psychic connection will happen easily and well.

Most importantly it’s a week where your soul and your own inner wisdom will help you to use your mind positively and productively. This week you can reach deep levels of awareness and understanding.

And those of you who were hoping that this was a post about FINALLY finding your true love?

Well, you can use your mind and your intuition to get clear about what you want in a relationship and then draw that to you. Don’t know how? I’ve created a range of activities and a guided meditation that you can use to guide you here.

It’s also a great week for falling in love! <3

Supportive crystals this week?

Snowflake Obsidian will help to remove old negative self-talk and replace it with optimism. Selenite will help you to connect into your guides, angels and psychic ability. Amethyst will truly boost your intuitive abilities and help you on your spiritual path.  Rose Quartz if you’re ready to attract love.

Helpful essential oils?

Young Living’s Envision essential oil blend, or a combination (or singly!) of any of Geranium, Spruce, Ylang Ylang and Frankincense. Envision oil is one of the oils I use with my students when I teach my intuition and channelling classes. It calms your mind and opens your awareness – and it smells so good! It’s a combination of spruce, orange, sage, geranium, lavender and rose. Just brilliant for connecting heart and mind, and for gently opening you to your psychic capabilities It’s my oil of choice in my diffuser this week. You can find all the oils here.

Holding you, as always, in my thoughts, prayers and meditations, and intending for a you a life of abundance and joy, where you are no longer limited by your doubts.

All my love,

Nicole ❤ xx

Acceptance – A Short Documentary about Owning Who You Are

2016-07-20-14-31-49

“The things that make me different are the things that make me.”  ~ A.A. Milne

“You are always welcome at my table.” ~ Nicole Cody

Last year I invited my friend Kerry Warnholtz to come spend some time with me as I prepared for and then ran my Chakra Wisdoms retreat.

Kerry is a talented photographer and videographer who sees the world through soulful and ever-watchful eyes. I hoped that she might be able to capture some footage and a few stills for my new website. My brief to her was that I wanted her to somehow show the love and care I put into each event that I run, and how precious each of my students is to me – how much I take that teaching and mentoring responsibility into my heart.

Kerry didn’t just capture that – she captured me – a little snapshot into my life, and the struggles I have had in coming to a place of self-acceptance. This short film speaks a lot to my WHY – why I do what I do – and I thought many of you might relate to the struggles I had in my earlier life to accept myself as I am.

What I want you to know, more than anything, is that I believe in you and that I want you to be who you are and be true to yourself. Being you is the most important thing you can do, and it’s time. The world needs us to stop pretending to be who we are not or to represent ourselves in the world as less than we are. It’s time to embrace ourselves and each other in all of our glorious diversity and similarity.

So, watch this little documentary. Come meet me at my farm, and in my life, and know that you are always welcome at my table.

You are among friends here.

Thanks for sharing the journey with me,

Nicole <3 xx

Mini-Retreat Day 4 – Deepening Our Connection

“Reach deep within, and reconnect with the essence of your being.”
~ Bryant McGill

We become better at something through practice. This is as true for meditation, spiritual connection and soul growth as it is for any other skill.

If we have a desire to become more spiritually connected, more energetically attuned – then what is needed is for us to devote regular time to sit quietly with ourselves, so that we might reflect, connect and deepen our understanding of ourselves and our place within the world.

Today I invite you to consider making spiritual connection a more regular part of your life. Find an hour each week or a little time each day, to meditate and then to work on strengthen your connection to your soul, your guides and angels, and to universal energy.

Go back to the Higher Self Meditation or the Connect with your Guide Meditation and strengthen your connection by doing this meditation again.

Then sit quietly with your journal and your oracle or tarot cards. Shuffle your cards while asking What do I most need to know today?

Pull your first card, and then look closely at it. Let the picture speak to you. What ideas and thoughts come to your mind? Write today’s date at the top of the page in your journal and then write down your insights from card number one.

Now think of a situation where you’d like to gain clarity or direction. Reshuffle the deck of cards while thinking about this issue.

2015-11-10 07.38.35

Then pull up to five cards, one at a time, and lay them out in front of you.

Go back to the first card, look at the card closely and allow answers to come to you. Write them in your journal, and then repeat the process for the other cards you have chosen.

Finally, sit quietly, close your eyes and just be. In this space of silence and soul connection you may then want to offer up a prayer of gratitude and thanks. You may want to send love and light out into the Universe or to specific people and situations. You may want to use this time to call on your Guides, Angels, Ancestors or God/Universal Energy/Spirit for additional help and guidance as you journey through your day.

Know that you are deeply loved, and never alone. There is always love surrounding you.
Thinking of you today, and wishing for you a day of insights and growing inner peace.

Much love,

Nicole xx

Honouring your Intuition – Why aren’t you doing it?

second-guess: definition:

Second guess is defined as to question a decision or action that has already been completed. (verb)

An example of second guess is when you make a decision and then you start to think about it a little more and decide another decision might have been better.

~ Websters New World College Dictionary
We’ve all done it.  We make a decision, feel good about it, and then at the last minute change our minds. Sometimes we panic, or maybe we become filled with self doubt.  Sometimes we are swayed from our original decision by the opinions and advice of others. Inevitably the decision we go with second has nowhere near as good an outcome as if we’d stuck with our first choice.
All of us are intuitive.  We are guided daily by our own internal wisdom, and perhaps something more… Some people call it following your heart, some call it listening to your inner wisdom, some just call it intuition – but whatever we call it, it amounts to the same thing: an ability to make sound decisions that lead us to positive outcomes.
I know you’re already an expert at second guessing yourself – don’t feel bad, we all do it!  The more pressure we are under, and the greater our level of uncertainty and insecurity, the more prone we are to second guessing.  The problem with that is when we are already in a place of weakness – and then we make a decision that doesn’t go our way – we further erode our confidence in ourselves.
So how do we turn things around?
Firstly, it’s important not to put yourself under pressure by expecting yourself to tune in to your intuition with high stakes decisions.  You need to rebuild confidence in yourself, so it’s best to start small.  Intuition is like a muscle – the more we use it, the stronger it becomes.
Secondly, you need to actually honour your intuition or gut feeling when you’re guided to make a decision that might be different to what you might ordinarily do.
So the next time you are driving to work, and you suddenly get an urge to go a different route, act on that urge. You know that all the times you second guessed yourself and DIDN’T follow your intuition you ended up stuck in a traffic jam…
Trust yourself when you get a small idea about what to cook for dinner, or that you should get milk and bread on the way home even though you only shopped yesterday and should have plenty. Chances are you’ll get home and someone will have drunk all the milk, and eaten all the bread!
The more we learn to trust ourselves on the little stuff, the easier it gets to apply our intuition and heart guidance to the big stuff.
followyourheart1
Your heart is a wonderful guidance system.  Even after you make that second (worse) decision, it will keep feeding you information in the form of feelings and physical sensations to let you know you’re headed the wrong way.
How many times have you changed your mind and done the thing you didn’t want to do, and then felt physically sick, or had a nagging feeling of dread the entire time?  Later on you say to yourself I knew I shouldn’t have done that!  That’s the wisdom of hindsight, which is only ever useful after the fact.  Intuition will keep you running true before you even need to make that decision and act upon it.
A life guided by your heart is a journey that allows your true gifts and purpose to shine through, so that you live your best life for you, instead of always living to please (or not upset!) other people.
Starting today, tune in and listen to your heart. Do it with the simple things, like what to have for breakfast, or whether you should go to the party tonight. Practice, practice, practice – make it fun!
Before you know it, tuning in and using your intuition will become a natural part of your life – just like it used to be before you stopped trusting it.

Strengthening Intuition Week 8 – Honouring our Early Warning System

Tsunami Early Warning System – Image from www.unisdr.org

“As soon as there is life there is danger.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

In this last instalment of our Strengthening Intuition Series we’re looking at how to tune in to and respect our very own Early Warning System. Let’s start by defining exactly what an Early Warning System is:

early warning system

n.

1. A network of sensing devices, such as satellites or radar, for detecting an enemy attack in time to take defensive or counteroffensive measures.
2. A system or procedure designed to warn of a potential or an impending problem.

Source: The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, Fourth Edition copyright ©2000 by Houghton Mifflin Company.

A few years ago I was on a long drive through Outback Australia, and an interview came on the radio. The man being interviewed was a forensic psychologist and profiler, who helped identify and track down serial killers. What fascinated me most about the interview was his accounts of people who had encountered these murderers and lived to tell the tale.

Broadly, the people fell into two categories – those who had not been attacked, and those who had been attacked and had then survived. By studying the two groups, and their responses to the serial killers’ behaviour, the forensic psychologist made a compelling case for the Early Warning System – that inner guidance – that resides within each of us.

The group who had not been attacked?  In each case ‘something’ had made each person feel uneasy after engaging in some form of interaction with the killer. In honouring that sense of uneasiness they had moved on; terminating conversations, stepping away, in some cases even being aggressively ill-mannered to the serial killer due to their inner driver telling them to exert caution.

The group who were attacked but survived? Interestingly, each of them had experienced that same sense of uneasiness, which was then brushed away  or reasoned away, often because of a fear of appearing ‘rude’, or their ingrained training to give the other person (the serial killer) the benefit of the doubt. This group of survivors was very small, and only one person had managed to escape from their attacker.  The others had been saved because their attacker had been disturbed.

What really stayed with me from this interview was that the survivors had experienced not just one example of uneasiness but an escalating series of red flags, warning them of danger, which they had continued to ignore.

Ignoring those simple signals cost many people their lives…

We all have an inbuilt Early Warning System.  It is constantly feeding us information.  But so often, we over-ride the signals with our intellect, or our sense of propriety and worry about offending others – even strangers.

How do we learn to get back in touch with these signals?

All of the exercises that we have practiced over the last seven weeks have helped us to begin paying attention to input that comes from beyond our conscious mind.

There are further steps we can take to refine our ability to listen to our inner Guidance:

  1. Stay in the moment.  When we live inside our head, in the past, or the future, we are no longer connected to what is going on around us right now.  When we are not in the moment, we miss vital signals that can guide us safely through life. Throughout the day, stop, breathe, connect back into your centre, and pay attention to your feelings and intuition.
  2. Still your mind.  Meditation is useful for this, but even a few minutes of quiet sitting or walking will do. Focus only on your breath, and on stillness.  Stay open.
  3. Learn how to centre yourself.  I’ve covered this technique in a previous blog, and it’s a simple way to tune in and operate from a place of balance and awareness.
  4. Honour your feelings and energetic impressions above all.  We are a well-mannered society, and most of us have been taught to value the happiness and good impression others form of us above our own comfort. Manners are important, but being nice is not always in our best interests, and can actually cause us harm.
  5. When your intuition tells you to back away, pay attention. Our gut feeling gives us only three directions: move towards something, a neutral position, or move away. Anything that gives you that sense of unease is worth paying attention to.  Don’t try and rationalise it away. That red flag is there for a reason.

During the Asian Tsunami of 2004, there were many reports of animals and tribal villagers moving out of the path of danger before the tsunami struck.  Scientists have since discovered that there is a part of our brain called the anterior cingulate cortex that is actively engaged in helping guide us when faced with impending hazards of which we may not yet be consciously aware.

Nature has gifted all of us with a strong guidance system.  Our job is to learn to pay attention to that guidance.  It only takes a little practice, and the willingness to value yourself as much as you value the wellbeing and good opinion of others.
