A Week for Empowered Action – Monday Oracle 18 March 2019

“For after all, the best thing one can do when it is raining is let it rain.”
~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Hello, Lovelies!

March is a month of creativity and inspiration that will propel us forward in new directions and where we can make major progress towards existing goals. Keep that in mind as we look at the gifts of inspiration which the card Acceptance brings us.

There are two big themes to the energies of this week: Self-Love and Ultimate Responsibility. Acceptance shows us the wisdom of truly honouring the truth of our current circumstances. We might not like where we are at in our lives, or how we are behaving, we might not be happy with our choices, we may feel far from our goals and dreams – but Acceptance teaches us that the starting point for all self-love and all self-acceptance is to be present with the truth of where we are at right now in this moment.

Sitting in that place of truth (even if we don’t like what we see!) is empowering. It gives us a starting point and a place from which we can measure any future progress. Acceptance is the powerful energy of owning where we are at, within the framework of all of the other circumstances and relationships that impact our life.

This week take a little time to do an audit of your life. Where are you are with your health, your relationships, your money, your career, your goals or anything else important to you? Don’t judge or blame yourself for being where you are – that’s never helpful. Allow yourself to connect to the truth of your situation without emotion. It is what it is. Self-love can only come when we begin at this place of honesty with ourselves, and are able to love and accept ourselves DESPITE things within our current reality we would rather were different.

Acceptance also empowers us to take Ultimate Responsibility for our life this week. Ultimate Responsibility means that we stop blaming others, we stop finding excuses, we stop justifying or validating. We stop running ourselves down and trash-talking ourselves. Instead, we choose to accept responsibility for every single thing in our lives, no matter how we got to that place.

When we take Ultimate Responsibility we stop waiting for other people to change or to fix things for us and we empower ourselves to either 1) stop complaining and accept things as they are, or 2) make the decision to change what we don’t like and then take action until we get an outcome that is better than our current reality.

In the spirit of the Acceptance card and the gifts she brings what one area of your life can you take Ultimate Responsibility for this week, empowering yourself to make changes to give you better outcomes?

Helpful essential oils?

Combine Frankincense, Lemon and Peppermint Essential Oils for an energising and focusing diffuser blend this week. A ratio of 2 drops of Frankincense, and 3 drops each of Lemon and Peppermint is delicious!

Frankincense helps you to be grounded and connected at the same time, and reduces stress and inflammation within the body. Lemon is uplifting and helps bring focus and clarity, and Peppermint refreshes the mind and spirit.

I’m passionate about essential oils and their capacity to support our wellness journey and our spiritual and emotional wellbeing. If you’d like to know more or want to source the oils I recommend and trust visit this site or contact me at channelnc@gmail.com

What Action Are You Taking To Create Positive Change This Week?

“Small deeds done are better than great deeds planned.” ~ Peter Marshall

This is a great week for transformation.

You could step into a space of positive change with your health, your business, your relationship, your financial situation, your career, or so many other things.

All of the energies this week support shift, change and growth.

But there’s one thing you need to use as a magical key to unlock the block that has been holding you back – just one thing that can change everything…

You need to act!

Even the smallest step this week can lift you out of stuckness. In fact smaller steps are great. It’s the bigger actions that usually through us into overwhelm. So choose something and begin.

Imagine if that one tiny action changed everything for you!

It could, so let’s do it!

Cheering you on, Nicole ❤ xx

Revisiting Our Guiding Card for 2018

“Be the celebrators, celebrate! Already there is too much—the flowers have bloomed, the birds are singing, the sun is there in the sky—celebrate it! You are breathing and you are alive and you have consciousness, celebrate it!”
~  Osho

As May comes to a close I thought it time to revisit the guiding energies for 2018. This year The Sun is our guiding card and her message is a powerful and wise one.

This year is about connection and inclusion. It’s a fine year for all forms of creativity, fertility and innovation. 2018 is heart-focused. Relationships – with yourself, with others, with your work – that’s what matters this year. It’s a great year for healing old hurts, mending fences and rebuilding relationships. It’s also a year where you’re clearly see where to walk away and put your energies to situations and relationships that are more suitable for you.

The Sun shows us that this year we’re supported to spend time in acts of creativity and innovation. Ideas will flow. Things will come together. Making money, making art, connecting in love, original ideas and projects – all of these things will become easier as we work on healing our old hurts, fears and limiting beliefs.
It’s also a year for socialising, for celebrating and for connecting with family and friends.

The Sun’s energy is strongly aligned with our Solar Plexus Chakra – our centre of Self. Our solar plexus is the bright yellow chakra that sits around the navel, and this chakra is all about our identity and sense of self, our individuality and self-sovereignty. It’s time to be more true to ourselves. We need to shine our Light in the world by being who we came here to be. This might have made the beginning of 2018 difficult for you, as you began to feel into the truth of who you are and to see where the life you are currently living may not have been aligned with your innermost truth and values. Shift and realignment can be uncomfortable while we are in that readjustment period – while we’re facing how far we’ve moved away from our true north – and making changes to our behaviours, beliefs, relationships and circumstances.

It’s a time for making things and creating art. For finding a life path that fills us with gratitude, for celebration and for strong growth in our families and businesses. It’s about belonging to or creating a tribe of our own. A time for enjoying ourselves and this gift that is our lives. A time for moving forward together.

After years on a path of struggle and feeling alone in the world, 2018 opens out onto a kinder energy where we can finally begin to feel like we belong. First thought, we might need to break free of the old. That’s okay. The pain of that change will be worth it.

Don’t waste your year on hard work and striving unless that is absolutely the thing that lights you up, and even then make sure there is ample time to smell the roses. It’s a year where we need to slow down, reflect and find ways to have meaningful engagement with ourselves and the world around us.

At its heart 2018 is a soul-centred and abundant year. It holds a very fresh, nurturing and inspiring energy. It’s a year of possibility, creativity, connectedness, communication, collaboration and community. It’s a time where love can blossom, and relationships can thrive. The families we are born into or create for ourselves, our friendships, our work and community connections – all of these will have a greater importance for us this year.

So, as we come into June which is a month for reflection, soul work, for rest and healing and cosy-ing up with the people we love, it’s worth looking back on what we have already decided, overcome or acted upon this year, and celebrating our milestones, however large or small they may be.

“We often miss opportunity because it’s dressed in overalls and looks like work”
~ Thomas A. Edison

Opportunities and Possibilities

As we become more aware of our current position, we are able to begin charting a path forward. Today we’ll work with your intuition and Higher Self to begin choosing a destination that will be personally satisfying and energetically aligned with your best life.

Here’s what you need to do.

Take your crystal, and complete this short guided meditation:

Hold your stone in your cupped hands, close your eyes, and slow your breathing. Bring white light into your body until you feel peaceful and calm. Then bring white light into the crystal too. Allow yourself to connect to the stone. You may feel it tingle, or visualise a colour in your mind’s eye. When you are ready, open your eyes. Keep your stone near you, and hold it when you write.

Now shuffle your cards, while silently asking the question to yourself ‘What opportunities and possibilities are lighting my horizon?’

When you have shuffled the cards and they feel ‘done’, select up to four cards using the method that feels right for you.

Place the cards face up in front of you.

Clear your mind by closing your eyes and taking one deep breath in and then out. Open your eyes again. Take a minute and look at each picture.  Then come back to the first one.

What stands out for you today? Is it an image or a colour? Is it a number or a word? What are your first impressions? What thoughts come into your mind?

Write these down in your journal.

Now let’s go a little deeper. What feelings or words does this card evoke in your mind when you think about the card and its images in relation to the question ‘What opportunities and possibilities are lighting my horizon?’ Take five minutes and write some stream-of-consciousness thoughts down. Don’t censor or judge them. Trust the process. Draw a second card for clarification if you need to.

Repeat this process for each card.

Finally, read back over what you have written. Begin to create images in your mind of what these opportunities and possibilities could look like for you in your life.

Are You In Survival Mode For No Good Reason?

“Oh! that gentleness! how far more potent is it than force!”
~ Charlotte Brontë, Jane Eyre

Most of us are used to pushing, to working hard, to gritting our teeth and carrying on.

If there is a crisis in your life, that is often the only thing to be done. But sometimes, it seems that we become used to living as though all of our life is a crisis.

Friends, that’s not a great plan.

When we constantly push ourselves, and stress ourselves, we begin to alter our body’s chemistry. We normalise a state that is supposed to be about emergencies – living on our adrenalin and cortisol for a ‘fight or flight’ situation. In that state our digestion slows, our body is flooded with hormones that burden our livers, inflame our bodies, suppress our libidos and play havoc with sleep patterns. In that state we convert energy to fat, storing it for the coming crisis. We exhaust our adrenals, ruin our thyroids and put ourselves into chronic fatigue, emotional depletion and a place where everything becomes monochrome. We lose our joy. We lose ourselves.

If you are genuinely in crisis, with an abnormal amount of stress due to external conditions and circumstances, I wish you well and I pray for you the strength to get through these times the best that you can.

But if your whole life looks like a crisis, and you’re tired to the bones, numb from the grind of it all – maybe it’s time to change something. Because you are no longer living, you’re existing. You’re in survival mode. And that is no way to live a life.

When we get to that place we stop making good decisions and default to auto-pilot. We become broken robots.

Here are my top tips for moving back to a place of flow and balance so that you can begin enjoying life, and health, again:

  • Simplify. Let go of some of your responsibilities so that you can free up some time in your schedule.
  • Get a health check. If you’re exhausted/struggling/unwell all the time and your life looks pretty normal demand-wise, maybe there’s something else going on.
  • Delegate. Seriously, no one can do it all themselves. Get a team together.
  • Walk away. Sometimes the only thing left to be done is to walk away from the relationship, the job, or the situation. An ending, or a failure to complete, might actually be what’s needed to turn this around.
  • Change your job.
  • Take a holiday, or some time away from it all. Camping and house sitting are great options if finances are tight.
  • Postpone some of your projects, or lengthen out the timeframes.
  • Hire someone capable to sort it/fix it/build it for you.
  • Schedule catch-up sleep and downtime into your calendar as regular events.
  • Get your finances under control. Or get help to do this. No-one can get out from under that feeling of crisis if they are always worrying about where the next dollar is coming from, or how to pay off a mountain of debt. Make a plan and work the plan.
  • Downsize. Sell stuff. Make things more manageable.
  • Do the things that are important to YOU and quit doing things to please others or gain approval.
  • Make exercise and a healthy diet a priority.
  • Choose a hobby and make time for it by stopping something you don’t enjoy, or that doesn’t fill you up.
  • Stop taking new stuff on and get the backlog completed.
  • Say no to people and events. Create some room in your life for you.

Life is not always easy. Crazy stuff happens. Crisis sometimes too. But if your world has devolved into exhaustion and all the joy has been sucked out of living, it’s time for a change. It’s time to be kind to yourself and sort this mess out!

3 Affirmations to Change Your Life

“Sometimes, little things make a big difference…”
~ Nino Varsimashvili

Every morning when I wake up, before I get out of bed, before I pray or meditate, before I do anything else at all, I say a little affirmation.

In fact, sometimes I will chant it like a mantra. In my head, or if I really need the energy boost, out loud.

I have three favourites to choose from, and all of them have been life changing for me.

Let me share them with you:

  1. Something wonderful will happen to me today.
  2. Every day in every way I am getting better and better.
  3. I am stronger than this.

Three short and simple sentences that can change your life too.

I love the magical feel of number one. Something wonderful will happen to me today. It has brought many joyful opportunities and synchronicities into my life. It’s fun. It helps you celebrate life. It sets up a vibration of joyful anticipation, honing focus and gratitude.

Number two also opens me up to allowing. It unlocks my ability to expand and grow. It has attracted teachers, new directions, inspiration, breakthroughs, healing and miracles. Every day in every way I am getting better and better.

When I am in the hole, when life is weighing me down and my coping abilities are stretched to the limit I pull out number three. I am stronger than this. I am stronger than negative people. I am stronger than trauma or tragedy. I am stronger than ignorance or lyme disease or whatever other crappy life circumstances I am currently dealing with. I am stronger than this.

I also have an embarrassing affirmation confession. One of my most spectacular self-evident affirmation successes came from a challenge I set out to the Universe from a place of great skepticism. You can read about my ‘secret power’ affirmation here.

My Embarrassing Affirmation Confession.

Why not work with these affirmations over the following week and see how they work for you?

Lots of love, Nicole <3 xoxo

Create Positive Change Program – Week 3

Image from www.vb.is

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” ~ Steve Jobs

Sometimes the advice we get, and the experts, mentors and people in positions of authority that we look to for direction end up giving us a bum steer.

Seriously.

When we are really strong in our own power and confidence, and fired up by what it is we want to be/do/have, then it doesn’t matter so much if other people disagree or don’t believe in us. The positive energy and vision we hold for ourselves will carry us through.

But when we’re just starting out, when we’re vulnerable and uncertain it can be very easy for other people to sink our ship.

Some folks persist in telling you not to get on the boat, or threaten to disown you if you do. Some like to blow our ship right out of the water, some smash it to bits while it’s still in the construction phase, and others sneakily let the bungs out and the water in while telling us they 100% believe in our ability to float that boat. Still others commandeer our ship and steer it to places we didn’t want to go, or limit our horizons.

But it’s still our own little ship of dreams, and what matters is that it’s ours – not anyone else’s.

This week we’re going to look at one of the biggest things that holds us back from positive change – believing the people who don’t believe in YOU!

Click on the video below for a little positive reinforcement – these are all people who were told they would fail, but who eventually (note that word eventually) succeeded beyond their wildest dreams. Imagine what would have happened if they’d stopped trying?

Okay – let’s do our foundation exercises.

Count Your Blessings!

How’s your Blessings Book going? I love looking back over mine, especially the ones from years ago.  This simple practice can bring enormous riches into your life by regularly focusing your attention on what matters to you.

Again this week write down three blessings in your life every day – three simple things for which you are grateful. When we count our Blessings we are inviting positive energy into our lives and putting ourselves into a receptive and abundant state of mind.

Write them like this: Today I am thankful for (the blessing) because (write down a simple reason). eg: Today I am grateful for rain because I get to wear my awesome purple gumboots!

2013-03-13 06.59.09

Affirm the Positive!

Take your rock from Week Two, and thank it. Write the Affirmation you used in your Blessings Book. You can now place the second rock beside your bed or somewhere where you’ll see it often.

Select the third rock from the eight you selected at the start of this course. This is your third Affirmation Stone. Carry it around with you, or place it somewhere where you can see and hold it every day.

Hold this third stone in your hands. Now think of something else in your life that you want to change. This week we’re focusing on what we CAN do. Affirm that as a statement of declaration to the Universe.

Image from Coaching Journey

Image from Coaching Journey

Here are some examples:

I can manage money well.

I can create financial freedom for me and my family.

I can be healthy and happy.

I can be cherished in a loving, lasting relationship.

I can get published.

I can make money doing this _________ (thing I love – insert your own thing here)

Each day hold that stone in your hands and repeat your declaration, out loud, or in your mind. You can do this just once, or as many times as you like. Say your declaration with enthusiasm and commitment. Put lots of energy into the word CAN. Say it loud enough and strongly enough to defeat all of the doubters in your life. This simple act of declaration begins to align you with this energy, opening you to more of this thing in your life.

Using your Gratitude Rock!

Using my Gratitude Rock is one of the favourite parts of my day. It makes me feel so connected to each of you, and very supported and loved. Because our Gratitude Rock anchors positive energy and gratitude at the end of each day we go to sleep in that beautiful bubble of healing energy, and remain connected, empowered and loved.

As you hold your stone tonight say to yourself I am richly Blessed. I have an Abundance of Good in my life.  Then hold in your mind one or more image of a thing you have been grateful for today.  It doesn’t matter if you review your Blessings from your Blessing Book, or add in something new.  Swell that positive energy up in your heart like a beautiful golden light, and give a heart-felt Thank You, Thank You, Thank You to the Universe. Visualise a tiny shower of golden light travelling from your heart into your Gratitude Rock.

Now imagine all of the other people who are taking part in this Positive Change Program with us – people from all over the world, just like you. Once again build up a strong positive energy in your heart, and then imagine shooting a stream of golden light out into the Universe to those people.

Say Thank you.  I Bless You.  I intend for you Positive Change, Love, Miracles and Abundance. Know that as you are saying this for them, they are also saying this for you. Feel that connection and gratitude and know that there is real love and support for you here. Place your rock back beside your bed, and go to sleep, cocooned in this good energy. I’ll send you a few extra sparkles this week! 🙂

Homework:

This week we’re busting through the old negative energy and thinking caused by people making us feel small, inadequate, incapable or undeserving.

Who are they to tell you how to live your life?

Make a list in your journal of all of the people who have said or done things that have contributed to you giving up, holding yourself back, or never even starting. Write as much or as little detail as you need.

Then we’re going to do a little visualisation exercise to get our power back. We’ll see them saying/doing that thing to us and then we’ll affirm that it doesn’t matter what they say. We’ll allow ourselves to do or be that thing anyway. We can write it out or act it out in our imagination – whatever feels right.

If you need to stomp your foot, raise your voice, add a thousand exclamation marks or anything else that helps, do it! This is not a time to act small in the world.

Here’s my example:

Someone near and dear to me (I’m not going to name and shame them here in public) once said to me, “You’re not pretty like your sister, but at least you have a nice personality.” I totally took that on board and believed I wasn’t attractive, although I did get the consolation prize of a ‘nice personality’.

So now I’ll hold that person in my thoughts, and imagine them saying that to me again. And then I will visualise myself saying to them: Well, I’m sorry but that’s just your opinion. I forgive you and set you free. I AM pretty and I reclaim my prettiness. I’m pretty to me, and that’s all that counts!

If they’d said I couldn’t write well, I’d say Well, I’m sorry but that’s just your opinion. I forgive you and set you free. I CAN write well and I’m going to keep on writing. So there!

This might take a while, so feel free to do one or two people at a time, or to repeat the exercise as you need to. It’s very empowering, and you’ll be amazed at what comes up that you thought you’d forgotten.

Let go of all this old stuff that’s holding you back. It’s time! Reclaim your power.

“Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.” ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.

One of the biggest obstacles to change is that feeling of overwhelm we get when we look at where we are now, and then at the distance between us and our goal/heart’s desire/impossible dream. The bigger the gap, the more likely we are to feel stuck, or unable to make that first step. In fact, we can get so stuck that we can no longer even conceptualise that first step!

It’s not unlike that brain freeze feeling you get from eating ice-cream too fast – there’s pain, confusion and a need to lie down in a darkened room. And that’s when the ghosts come out – all those voices from our past (or even our present) that tell us we can’t do it, we’re not good enough, we don’t deserve it, we don’t have what it takes. Our failures parade before us. We see all the things we’re not, all the things we don’t have, and all our glaring faults.

This week we’re going to work with energies that get us back on solid ground – connected into our heart space, and able to ‘hear’ our inner guidance about what to do next.

Are you ready?

Great! Let’s go!

Anchoring your heart energy

Lie down on the ground. If at all possible lie on the earth itself – the grass or sand or rock or dirt. Now imagine the back of your heart opening up and connecting deep into the core of the earth. Feel that earth energy warmly grounding you, supporting and nurturing you. Then open the front of your heart and connect it up into the sky. Go up beyond the blue. Feel the sun, the moon and the stars. Open to the wisdom and guidance of Universal energy. In this space of being anchored and connected just breathe and fill your body up with energy and love. Let yourself be replenished.

Image from www.zastavki.com

What do you feel?  Be open to any insights or revelations. Do this process a few times over the next week. What you feel and become aware of will change over time. Write down anything important in your journal.

Count Your Blessings!

Every day this week write down three blessings in your life – three simple things for which you are grateful. See if you can come up with new things each day. Cultivate an attitude of awareness, actively looking for the positive moments in your life.

Write them like this: Today I am thankful for (the blessing) because (write down a simple reason). eg: Today I am grateful for my barista because she always makes the most wonderful creamy latte for me!

26-Pink_background_branches_windows_7_wallpapers-010

When we count our Blessings we are inviting positive energy into our lives and putting ourselves into a receptive and abundant state of mind.

Affirm the Positive!

Take your rock from Week One, and thank it. Write the Affirmation you used in your Blessings Book. You can now place the first rock beside your bed or somewhere where you’ll see it often.

Select the second rock from the eight you selected at the start of this course. This is your second Affirmation Stone. Carry it around with you, or place it somewhere where you can see and hold it every day.

Hold this second stone in your hands. Now think of something else in your life that you want to change. Affirm that as a statement of declaration to the Universe,

Here are some examples:

I choose Healthy Relationships.

I choose Financial Stability.

I choose Bright New Ideas.

Each day hold that stone in your hands and repeat your declaration, out loud, or in your mind. You can do this just once, or as many times as you like. Say your declaration with enthusiasm and commitment. This simple act of declaration begins to align you with this energy, opening you to more of this thing in your life.

Using your Gratitude Rock!

The Gratitude Rock anchors positive energy and gratitude at the end of every day.  You can carry your stone with you, or leave it beside your bed.  At night, before you go to sleep, hold your Gratitude Rock in your hand.

As you hold the stone say to yourself I am richly Blessed. I have an Abundance of Good in my life.  Then hold in your mind one or more image of a thing you have been grateful for today.  It doesn’t matter if your review your Blessings from your Blessing Book, or add in something new.  Swell that positive energy up in your heart like a beautiful golden light, and give a heart-felt Thank You, Thank You, Thank You to the Universe. Visualise a tiny shower of golden light travelling from your heart into your Gratitude Rock.

Now here’s the fun bit – imagine all of the other people who are taking part in this Positive Change Program with us – people from all over the world, just like you.

“Piglet noticed that even though he had a Very Small Heart, it could hold a rather large amount of Gratitude.”
~ A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh

Our future is not fixed.  It is mutable and constantly changing in response to our thoughts, actions and beliefs.

When we believe that our Universe is abundant, and that it is a kind, safe and helpful place – indeed, that the Universe can be utterly delightful – then we start attracting more and more of that kind of positive energy into our lives.

From that place of Abundant Thinking and Gratitude we start to find ourselves expanding. We begin to feel more uplifted, more upbeat.  We gain confidence.

We begin to believe in possibilities. We begin to allow the Grace of the Universe to touch our lives. We get ourselves out of resistance and back into flow.

And from that place of flow, our lives change forever.

But how do we get to that place? Abundant thinking is created by counting our blessings.

Count Our Blessings and Use our Gratitude Rock

If you need a detailed reminder of the process, you can review it here in Day 1 of the Gratitude Challenge.

  1. List five Blessings in your journal, explaining why you are grateful for each one.
  2. Count your Blessings off on your fingers, summoning positive emotion and saying Thank You from your heart for each one.
  3. Take yesterday’s picture or name from underneath your Gratitude Rock. Hold it in your hands and say Thank You for all the help you have given me. I trust that the Universe supports me in every way. Really feel that energy and gratitude in your own heart.
  4. Now think of something where you need help. Write your request on a piece of paper like this: Universe, I am now open to receiving help with ___________ Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. Place your request under your Gratitude Rock.
  5. Tonight before you go to sleep, hold your Gratitude Rock and affirm I am richly Blessed. I have an Abundance of Good in my life. Visualise one thing you have been grateful for today. Swell that positive energy up in your heart like a beautiful golden light, and give a heart-felt Thank You, Thank You, Thank You to the Universe, then imagine a tiny shower of golden light travelling from your heart into your Gratitude Rock.
  6. Still holding your Gratitude Rock, bless your fellow travellers on this Gratitude Journey by sending them golden light, and saying Thank you.  I Bless You.  I intend for you Love, Miracles and Abundance. Know that as you are saying this for them, they are also saying this for you. Feel that connection and gratitude and know that there is real love and support for you here. Place your rock back beside your bed, and go to sleep, cocooned in this good energy.

If all you do today is these six steps, know that is enough.

Our Daily Gratitude Challenge

Today I’ve prepared a short guided meditation for you, to really allow you to connect to the Abundance and Blessings of our Universe. All you need to do is take ten minutes, sit back and relax, and let the words open you to new possibilities.

Telling yourself a better story

I really haven’t had that exciting of a life. There are a lot of things I wish I would have done, instead of just sitting around and complaining about having a boring life. So I pretty much like to make it up. I’d rather tell a story about somebody else.
Kurt Cobain

We all tell ourselves a story.  We often tell that story to others too. Our story is the way we see ourselves in the world, our view of what’s happened to us in the past, and who we are because of it.

Sometimes our story is sad, sometimes, it’s funny, sometimes it’s downright terrible.  And we trot that story out time after time; for ourselves, our families, our friends…

But what if that story doesn’t serve you? What if that story compounds low self-esteem, or failure, or loneliness? What if that story is a constant reminder to us of a painful time in our lives?

The Law of Attraction states that whatever we think about most and talk about most is what we draw to us.  That or things of a similar vibration.

You need to ask yourself if you want to keep living that story.

Because maybe it’s time to write a new one…

Journal Exercise:

Today, write yourself a new story.  Make it up, like any good writer would, but let it have a few bones that are real.

Tell yourself a story that is empowering and positive.

Look for examples from your life that illustrate a different truth for you – of times when things have worked out, when people have been kind or helpful, when you’ve known success, when miracles have happened.

Or, if you are feeling brave, or creative, just write a new and entirely ficticious account of your past, present or future.

What is the life you would like to live? Write about that AS IF IT IS ALREADY HAPPENING!!!

Here are a few prompts to get you started.  Choose whatever most appeals and then start writing:

  • My life is unfolding in the most exciting of ways…
  • The place I’m living now is so well suited to me.  It is…
  • You’ll never guess how it happened.  It all worked out perfectly in the end. One day…
  • So we’ve been together for…
  • And one day a letter came in the mail and it said…
  • The doctors couldn’t believe it…
  • My life is so blessed because…
  • It’s my dream life.  I have to pinch myself to remind me that it’s real. Now my world looks like…
  • I answered the phone and you’ll never believe who was on the other end…
  • OMG! This is exactly what happened, and it’s FABULOUS…
  • It feels so good to be able to…
  • My career is going from strength to strength.  Already I have…
  • I’ve planned the most amazing holiday.  It starts with…
  • Such wonderful relationships in my life.  Let me tell you a bit about them…
  • Now there’s no more money worries because…
  • My proudest moment is…
  • I finally achieved…

Words really do have a magical power in your life.  So choose them wisely – when you write them, speak them, think them… Expect magic and know that you are worthy and deserving of good in your life. NOW is your time to invite the future to look different to the past.  Believe! ♥
