How To Use Forgiveness To Get Yourself Back In Flow

The truth is, unless you let go, unless you forgive yourself, unless you forgive the situation, unless you realize that the situation is over, you cannot move forward.”
~ Steve Maraboli

Negative emotions can disrupt the flow of your life force energy and your heart chakra just as easily as boulders in a stream. How many boulders have piled up in your heart over time? Each boulder represents a major hurt, a major resentment, a major betrayal or disappointment, a deep wounding, shame or grief.

When the flow is disturbed or slowed, stagnation happens. Stagnant heart flow breeds anger and resentment, depression and self-loathing. It muddies the clear waters of the heart, and that dirty water spills over into everything you do.

So how do we get those boulders out?

Forgiveness.

Forgiveness of others. Forgiveness of self.

Forgiveness is the gift that sets us free. It’s not about condoning or approving what has been done, it’s about releasing yourself from the pain and the hurt of the past, and allowing yourself to move from stuckness back into flow.

Journalling to Clear Your Heart Chakra:

To clear our hearts, we first need to feel our feelings. Give yourself permission to feel into one of those boulders in your heart. Allow yourself to feel the pain or anger or betrayal. In that space of reconnecting into misery start writing, beginning with the words, “If only that had never happened I would have been able to…” then keep going and pour all of that hurt onto the page.

Get it out. There’s no point keeping it all bottled up. All this stuff is doing you damage, all these half-truths and misconceptions and limiting beliefs. Clear your heart stream of these sticks and stones. When you’re done, take a breath. Give yourself a ‘mental’ hug. Good work. Feel the space you’ve just created in your life.

Coming Back Into Flow:

Now send love and light and forgiveness to the situation or relationship you just wrote about. This is not about them – this is about you releasing yourself and the energy that is tied up in this situation from your past. Write on the page and then say in your mind “I forgive you and myself. I wish you well. I send you love. I bless you and I set you free” If you truly can’t conjure forgiveness for the other person that’s okay. Use this affirmation instead:

“I disconnect from the past and release it back to the light. All is well in my world. I am love. Love is what I am attracting.”

My intention for you is that you come to a place of peace in your heart, where you can move past hurt and pain and to a place of open connection and sharing, ready to accept joy and love into your life again.

Much love to you,

Chakra Journal Challenge – Week 5 – Heart Chakra

“And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.”
― Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince

Hello, and welcome to Week Five of our Chakra Journal Challenge!

Every Tuesday in March and April I will post a Journal Challenge for you, based upon a journey through the main chakras. You don’t need to know anything about journalling, chakras, crystals, oracle cards or energy work. I’ll explain everything that you need to do each week. Then you’ll have a week to complete the simple activities I share.

If you’re only just joining us please go back and read my Orientation Post first.

About the Heart Chakra

The Heart Chakra is located right where our heart is, in the centre of our chests. The colour of the Heart Chakra is green.

The Heart Chakra is an open doorway, the anchor for our soul into our body, and the seat of our emotions. When our heart chakra is open and balanced we are in a space of self-love, self-nurture, generosity, kindness, humour, empathy, non-judgement, happiness, compassion, expansion, optimism and FLOW. We’ll see beauty everywhere!

When the Heart Chakra is out of balance we can experience too much empathy, and hypersensitivity to the moods and emotions of others, where we will process these emotions as our own or feel responsible for them in other people. This is draining emotionally, physically and spiritually.

When the Heart Chakra has low energy flow we can experience loneliness, a sense of not belonging, we’ll shy away from intimacy and commitment, be overtly critical of self and others, be defensive and even paranoid. It is also an energy that creates addiction, including workaholism (see this week’s energy forecast for more on this!) because addictions mask and numb PAIN.

In all instances what the heart chakra needs is LOVE. Treat yourself and others with kindness, and spend time listening to your heart. Your heart holds all the wisdom of your soul, it truly knows what is best for you and what direction best serves you. All you ever need to do is tune in to that wisdom.

Weekly Structure

Each week of this nine week challenge will follow the same format:

  1. We will begin with the short guided meditation for the week, using your guidance stone. During this meditation you’ll be given a colour to work with for the week, and a word or phrase.
  2. We will choose an oracle card to give us inspiration and direction for the week ahead.
  3. We will spend ten minutes (or more if desired!) to complete our weekly journal prompt.
  4. We will give ourselves healing energy at least once this week.
  5. We will spend a few moments at the end of our day in gratitude.

Guided Meditation:

You’ll need ten minutes to listen to this short guided meditation. Feel free to hold your crystal while you meditate.

Journal Prompts

Now answer the following questions, writing as little or as much as you need:

  • What does your Power Colour mean to you? What words or ideas does it provoke? Write them down. Then use that colour to boost your energy. Shut your eyes for thirty seconds and breathe it into your body whenever you feel a bit flat or low. Wear it as clothing. Choose flowers in your colour. Eat food that colour. Be creative with it.
  • How can you use your Power Word this week? Write a few ideas, based on your word. Trust whatever comes and write it down. Don’t overthink it.

Want to go deeper with your journalling? Try these additional prompts. Write the beginning of the sentence and then keep going, using stream of consciousness. Do one or all of them. You’ll be amazed what you might discover about yourself!

  • When I connect into the energy of my Heart Chakra it makes me strong to think that…
  • When I connect into the energy of my Heart Chakra it makes me scared to think that…
  • When I connect into the energy of my Heart Chakra it makes me curious to think that…
  • When I connect into the energy of my Heart Chakra it makes me excited to think that…

Your Chakra Card For The Week:

Take your chosen oracle or tarot cards, offer up a small prayer that whatever you do be for your Highest Good, and then shuffle the deck. As you’re shuffling, ask the question ‘What wisdom does my Heart Chakra have for me this week?’ Say it out loud or hold it as a thought in your head. Either will work.

Choose one card. How you choose is up to you. Split the deck. Fan them out. Top or bottom. Dive right in. There is no right or wrong.

Now look at your card and hold your guidance stone in your non-writing hand. Really look at the card. Don’t use the book or the ‘proper’ meaning. We are being intuitive here, people! What stands out for you in the picture? What thoughts and ideas do the images provoke? Take a minute or two and write those thoughts down. I know, you might feel like you’re just making it all up. That’s okay. Write anyway. Trust that there is a part of you that is wise and that has been waiting for this chance to speak with your conscious mind.

Here’s an example of my first journal pages for the Heart Chakra.

Hands On Healing:

This week our hands-on healing is simple, easy and powerful. It’s a great healing to do last thing at night, in bed, just before we go to sleep.

  1. Lie in bed, on your back, comfortable and with a straight spine.
  2. Shake out your hands and activate your hand chakras. (Can’t remember how? Go back and review our Orientation Post)
  3. Place one hand on your chest and one hand on your belly. Let white light flow from your hands into your body.
  4. When your body is filled with light, run green light from one hand to the other, in a  gigantic healing loop. Feel the green light cleansing your heart, your blood, your cells and organs, your energy field.
  5. Let the colour of the energy change as you do this, if any other colours come to you and feel right.
  6. Finish with white or golden light into your body.
  7. Fall asleep, knowing that you will still be healing as you sleep.

You can also do this healing  when you first wake up. Enjoy!

Practicing Gratitude

The Gratitude Rock anchors positive energy and gratitude at the end of every day.  You can carry your stone with you, or leave it beside your bed.  At night, before you go to sleep, hold your Gratitude Rock in your hand.

gratitude-rock

As you hold the stone say to yourself: I am richly Blessed. I have an Abundance of Good in my life. Then hold in your mind one or more image of a thing you have been grateful for today. Swell that positive energy up in your heart like a beautiful golden light, and give a heart-felt Thank You, Thank You, Thank You to the Universe. Visualise a tiny shower of golden light travelling from your heart into your Gratitude Rock.

Now here’s the fun bit – imagine all of the other people who are taking part in this journalling challenge with you. Once again build up a strong positive energy in your heart, and then imagine shooting a stream of golden light out into the Universe to those people.

Say Thank you. I Bless You. I intend for you Love, Miracles and Abundance.Know that as you are saying this for them, they are also saying this for you. Feel that connection and gratitude and know that there is real love and support for you here. Place your rock back beside your bed, and go to sleep, cocooned in this good energy.

A Refreshing Pause

“Rainy days should be spent at home with a cup of tea and a good book.”
~ Bill Watterson, The Calvin and Hobbes Tenth Anniversary Book

“…I don’t just wish you rain, Beloved – I wish you the beauty of storms…”
~ John Geddes, A Familiar Rain

I’m so glad that we went and cast seed around the paddocks, because yesterday it rained almost all day, and then into the night.

My little farmhouse felt like a houseboat, as we sat on the veranda sipping tea and looking out over the misty rain-drenched fields.

The tiny birds that live in our garden were so grateful for the rain. They hopped in and out of the bird bath, chirping merrily and calling to all of their friends.

The bird bath looked quite lonely when they all flew up into the teak to take shelter from the heavier downfall.

2014-11-26 13.55.04

You’ll see that there is washing on the clothes line. It hadn’t been quite dry the day before, so I left it out.

Yesterday morning it was still a little damp.

“Looks like rain. You’d better bring it in,” said Ben.

But that may have been tempting fate. I left it out and sure enough it began to rain about ten minutes later. I don’t mind at all. Soggy clothes and soggy paddocks? I’ll take that! The grass seed will be loving all of this life-giving water.

2014-11-26 14.02.33

We had a proper storm or two, complete with rolling thunder and bright blazes of lightning.

When the storm passed I played in the rain like a child, then came back to the house all muddy and chilled, after which I had a long lovely soak in the bath and put on clean pyjamas.

The hounds also frolicked in the rain, and came home soaked and filthy. To their delight they also got a bath and a rub down with a nice soft towel. Oh, the luxury of it all.

2014-11-26 18.05.49

Heaven was reading a book in bed after dinner, tucked up between clean sheets, and then falling asleep to the sound of gentle drubbing on the tin roof, croaking frogs and the gift of night’s fragrant cool air, rich with the scents of earth, foliage and rain. (This fat, croaky fellow came into my kitchen to say hello while I was making dinner!)

f_GreenTreeFrog

It’s good for the soul to take a step back sometimes, to slow down a little, breathe all that good air and remind ourselves what a magical planet we call home!

Wishing you a peaceful day.

Lots of love, Nicole xx

PS – Feel free to drink in all this lovely green heart chakra energy through my pictures. Nature has so many healing gifts for us

Guided Meditation for Orienting Heart Awareness

“Her heart was a secret garden and the walls were very high.”
~ William Goldman, The Princess Bride

Here is the third in a series of seven weekly guided meditations I am recording for you.

We are spiritual beings in physical bodies. This guided meditation will help you to be aware of both your physical heart and your energetic centre. It will orient your awareness to the wisdom of your heart, and help you open to the answers and guidance within you.

I’ll let you in on a secret…

Your true nature is LOVE.

And that’s what this meditation is all about.

heart flower

You’ll need to set aside about twenty minutes for this meditation. Sit or lie somewhere quietly, using pillows or blankets if needed to make yourself comfortable. Then simply close your eyes and follow the sound of my voice. It’s fine to let yourself fall asleep during the meditation, or immediately afterwards.

You may also want to keep a journal handy, to write down any insights or answers that arise from this meditation.

This recording was made at dusk, at my farm. I’m sitting on the hill behind my house, on a balmy clear night, and you may be able to hear the cicadas, birds, crickets and rustling leaves in the background. Let them add their healing vibration to this meditation for you too. 🙂

Making My Life Work for Me – Week 3

“Keep love in your heart. A life without it is like a sunless garden when the flowers are dead.” ~ Oscar Wilde

“A loving heart is the beginning of all knowledge.” ~ Thomas Carlyle

“Love is life. And if you miss love, you miss life.” ~ Leo Buscaglia

Welcome to Week 3 of our six week Making My Life Work for Me Program. (If you’re just joining us now, pop back and read the very first post so that you can gather the materials we’ll be using today.)

Our focus this week is on reconnecting with the energy of love in our lives.  Life becomes very empty without love – and I don’t just mean romantic love.

Get ready to open up your heart and let love in. A life lived with passion, purpose and a full heart will make you feel alive, energised and so grateful for the blessing of every day.

hearts

Instructions:

We will be following the same format each week.  Read through this entire post before you get started. You can do the activities all on one day, or spread them put over the week – whatever works best for you.

Meditation:

We’re going to start with a meditation to help you connect into and draw more love into your life.  Hold your crystal and drape your scarf or shawl around your shoulders.  Set aside twelve minutes for this. When you’re ready click the link below and simply follow the sound of my voice:

Nicole Cody’s Guided Meditation for Manifesting Love

Know that true and lasting love is possible. Know that you are already Loved. Love is your Nature. Love is your natural expression. ❤

(PS – I apologise for the breathy-ness of the recording, especially towards the end but my big fat heart is playing up today.)

Visualisation:

Do this straight after your meditation, when you are ready and open for receiving! Close your eyes and use your imagination. See yourself the way you want yourself to be in the world.  Feel yourself well loved, in love with life, and expressing that love joyfully in the world.  Have gratitude and expectation of drawing these things into your life.  Really put some energy into this.  You can repeat this step again this week (even daily) if it feels right.  Thoughts are things, and this is how you manifest in the Universe!

Using Your Journal:

Go back to the front of your journal and read your Pledge out loud.

You’ve committed to making a better life for yourself.  A better life means a life that holds more love – more connection to the significant relationships in your life, new relationships, and time for what matters to you. You are worthy of true and lasting love – with yourself, with family and other important people, with life paths, places and lifestyles. Be open to love in all its forms as you work with your journal this week.

Feel free to use your paints, coloured pens, glitter and stickers to make your journal visually attractive.  Get involved in the love manifestation process by pouring your creative heart into this week’s activities.

Card of the Week:

2013-03-24 16.30.18Let’s start our week by selecting some reflective spiritual Guidance.  Take your deck of positive cards, or your rune bag.  Close you eyes and offer up a prayer for the Highest Good, and then quiet your mind.

Randomly select a card/rune, trusting that it will have a message to guide you this week.  Write down the name of the card/rune and the message.  Feel free to add any additional thoughts or insights you might have.

Here’s what I chose for us: I love the message and appropriateness of this week’s card!

2013-04-07 08.45.41

2013-04-07 08.46.14

Our lives are made rich by relationships, and by having things in our lives that we care about deeply. Who can you reach out to this week and in the months ahead? How can you show love for yourself or someone special to you?

Week 3 Journal Activity:

On a clean page write a stream of consciousness around the question Where do I need more Love?  Start by clearing your mind, and then focus on your heart. This can be a hard thing to do if you haven’t checked in for a while. Look to the following areas and choose any or all of them to explore: self, health, family, life partner, friendships, animal companions, home, hobbies and interests, career, finances, spirituality, community.  No matter what you find when you look inside, intensify that feeling and then start writing. Draw pictures or mind map if you feel like it. Play music if it helps evoke the mood. Cast your net wide, and over the next few days keep adding to your list.  Allow any emotions that come up to be honoured, and then let them go. Keep bringing your attention back to your heart.

And now for heart art…

Collage – Self Portrait: Things that my heart loves.  Today we’re going to make a collaged picture of ourselves, made up of all of the things our heart loves.  If you choose, you can also add in photographs or copies of photographs of people, pets, places and other things dear to you.

Take your pile of old magazines and place them in front of you.  Holding your crystal close your eyes and say out loud “Universe, I am open to all Guidance and my own Higher Wisdom to help me invite, understand and honour the energy of love in my life. I AM love – love is in me and all around me.”  Take a moment and sit in that energy, really feeling yourself connecting into and opening to that heart wisdom.

Then when you’re ready, open your eyes and start flicking through the magazines.  If any pictures or words appeal to you, cut or rip them out and place them beside you. When you have enough images cut them up neatly, and then spend some time arranging them on a page or double page of your journal. Start by drawing a rough outline of your head and shoulders.  Then fill in your self portrait with images and words. If your journal isn’t big enough, feel free to use a sheet of cardboard. Glue your images to the page and leave it open to dry. There are so many things to fill you up with love.  Expect them to start turning up in your life.

Were there any surprises?  Did you notice any particular themes? How can you bring more of this nourishing love energy into your life?

Image from www.artunt.digication.com

Image from www.artunt.digication.com

Gratitude:

What’s already working in your life?  List five things in your journal each day that you are grateful for in your life.

Nightly Healing :

Get into bed and spend five minutes lying quietly in meditation with your eyes closed.  Call on God, Universal Energy, your Angels, your Guides, your Ancestors, whomever you feel comfortable and safe with.  Ask for their help.  Fill your body with white light, and then draw coloured light (just allow a colour to come to you) through your crown chakra (an energy point on the top of your head) and send it anywhere in your body that needs healing.  Feel the warmth as the energy radiates through your body, uplifting and healing you.  Know that answers will come while you are sleeping.

Give thanks, send this same healing gift from you to anyone or anywhere else if it feels right, and then sleep.  Expect dreams that inspire, heal and inform. Wishing you a wonderful week.

Much love to you, Nicole ♥ xx

Healing and Grounding Tibetan Singing Bowl Meditation

Weeds and flowering herbs and vegetables from my messy summer garden.

Weeds and flowering herbs and vegetables from my messy summer garden.

I learn more about God
From weeds than from roses;
Resilience springing
Through the smallest chink of hope
In the absolute of concrete….
~ Phillip Pulfrey, “Weeds,” Perspectives

Morning at our little farm – the birds are singing, the sun is shining and the day is fresh and new. I’ve already been for a short walk and picked some flowering weeds and vegetables gone to seed from my garden. They are as pretty to me as any cultivated flower – there’s beauty everywhere once you start to look.

Today I’ve recorded you a simple meditation using my Tibetan Singing Bowl. (Forgive the slight croakiness in my voice ♥)  The purpose of this meditation is to use sound to clear, ground and heal, and then to expand and connect you – very useful energies at this time of year. You’ll need to set aside about ten minutes.  To listen, just click on the link below.

Know that you are loved, and that as you have sent good energy out into the world, there are also others holding that space for you.  Bless ♥ xx

Soul Mates – How to Recognise One

A loving heart is the beginning of all knowledge.
Thomas Carlyle

You might wonder what a Soul Mate relationship feels like, what it looks like, and how you’ll know…

Let’s start by looking at what a Soul Mate relationship is not.

Image from perpetualkid.com

A Soul Mate will not share every view, feel as you do about everything in the Universe, or be your clone.

A Soul Mate relationship will not be about never arguing.

It will not be about perfection.

Image from geekologie.com

A Soul Mate is not some strange sort of parasitic or unhealthy dependency where you simply can’t survive without them in your life, or where they love you all up and suck you dry, before discarding you to move onto someone fresh.

A Soul Mate relationship won’t be categorised by fear, relentless pain, uncertainty, a feeling of being trapped, or a sense of impending doom.

It won’t be an abusive relationship.

It won’t be a relationship that belittles you, puts you down, discredits or dishonours you. It won’t be a relationship that puts doubts in your head until you begin to question your own judgement, and where your confidence and esteem erode, little by little, until you are weak and frail – a shell of who you were before. You won’t need to keep earning the other person’s love, or proving yourself.

Image from contentinacottage.blogspot

So what does a Soul Mate relationship look like?

First and foremost, it is always categorised by love.  Not vain love or showy love – but the sort of enduring and deepening love that allows you to grow, together, into something stronger, better and wiser than you were before.

Soul Mate relationships endure – they allow us to suffer the pain, and find a way, together, to move forward. In the presence of love we learn forgiveness, acceptance, compassion.

They bring out the best in us.  They give us comfort, friendship, support, and (often at the most unexpected times) fireworks in our bellies. They help us know laughter, and tears, they help us find the strength in ourselves and in each other.

With a Soul Mate we feel safe, and that safety gives us courage to wander far from home, creating and exploring and enacting our dreams.

Soul Mates believe in us, they’ll fight for us, and they’ll call us on it when we’re mistaken, or heading in the wrong direction. They love us when we have done nothing to deserve it, and when we feel totally unworthy of love, and they remind us to take care of ourselves, while caring for us when we can’t.

And at times, they’ll annoy us or frustrate us so much that we’ll wonder why we didn’t choose the other person. We’ll wish they’d just take a hike and leave us well alone. But in the next breathe we’ll know how miserable we’d be without them in our lives.

The relationship, like yourself, will always be a work in progress, ever changing, ever evolving, at times difficult, sometimes even strained to the point where you momentarily  find it hard to recognise yourself or each other. But it will also have the familiarity and comfort of home. And in the arms of this relationship you’ll know two things – love and safety. More importantly, you’ll get to know your true self.

A Soul Mate will spilt your heart open and you won’t even mind the pain because of all the love and joy you find there.

Can they really be your Soul Mate if you argue?

I grew up in a house where I never heard my parents fight. Sadly, their marriage didn’t last, but it made me certain that arguing was not a part of anything to do with love.

After I had my very first major and quite vocal disagreement (yep, some people would call that a fight…) with my husband, just weeks after we’d been married, I sat on the internal staircase of our house and cried, while my husband went outside to wash the car.

My beautiful Guide, Rollo, spoke to me, and asked, ‘Do you know what a Soul Mate relationship is?’

‘Obviously not!’ I snivelled, feeling totally pathetic and like I’d just made the biggest mistake of my life in getting married. I was sure Rollo was going to confirm that for me too.

Instead he showed me a picture of an oyster. ‘Do you know what happens when a tiny grain of sand gets into that oyster?’ he asked.

‘No,’ I sniffed.

‘It irritates the hell out of the oyster’ my Guide boomed, laughter in his voice.

Exactly, I thought. Irritates the hell out of it.

‘And in the presence of love, the oyster wraps that irritation in a special substance and after a while the pain goes away.’

I felt my Guide smiling at me. ‘Then the tide turns, and that annoying grain of sand moves somewhere else in the oyster, and do you know what happens?’

‘No,’ I replied, slow on the uptake.

‘That grain of sand causes more irritation in a different spot. But if love is present, love keeps wrapping itself around the irritation. The oyster grows, and over time the oyster transforms that grain of sand, in the presence of love, into something of great value and lasting beauty.  That oyster grows a pearl.  Without the irritation and the need to grow, nothing extraordinary would have ever happened.  But when love is present, magical transformation is possible.’

Image from freewallpaper4me.com

I could have hugged Rollo. My wise Guide was absolutely right.  I stopped crying and went into the kitchen to make my husband a cup of tea.

It’s true.  Love transforms.  It helps us weather many storms.  It grows us.  It improves us. It comforts us and delights us. And at some stage it causes us pain (usually BECAUSE we love), and love helps us bear that pain. The pain doesn’t weaken us – it strengthens us.  And from that pain we grow into something beautiful.

Seven Pictures to Re-Energise You and your Chakras

Chakras are energetic gateways or portals. Each has its own colour, and governs different areas and emotions within the body. I have meditated on each of the following images, and programmed each picture to energise, open, balance and heal your chakras.

How to use today’s blog:

  1. Slowly scroll down the page, gazing at each picture in turn.
  2. Notice which picture (or pictures) is more vibrant and attractive to you.
  3. Go back to that image (images) and spend a little longer.  Draw that colour deep into your body.  See if any words, impressions, emotions or images come up for you. You might even want to use that as the beginning of a journalling activity. These colours will feed and energise your chakras and are great indicators of what chakras are already flowing and working well or in the process of opening and healing.
  4. Also pay attention to any pictures that seem very flat and energetically unappealing. Note what chakra that picture relates to.  Once again see if any words, impressions, emotions or images come up for you. This flat energy will correspond to chakras that are blocked, stagnant or stuck.  Send them some white light and a little extra love.
  5. Run your eyes over the images again.  See if there is any change.  Eventually you’ll find that all of the pictures have an equal brightness as you come back into balance.

Opening your Heart to Give and Receive

The Heart Chakra is both a receiver and a transmitter for love and wisdom. The more we open our heart by giving, the more we can connect into receiving.  This positive vibration of flow allows us to live from our hearts as intuitive, clear and compassionate beings.

Every heart is capable of hearing the whisperings of another...

Activity:  Our hearts love to love. Here are some suggestions for expressing that energy in the world this week:

  • Play with your pets, or go feed ducks in the local park. Animals are wonderfully intuitive, loving and giving.  Make a connection that expands your own heart.
  • Read to a child, or even to an adult.
  • Catch up with friends for a coffee, a meal or a movie.
  • Play tennis with a friend, or go to a yoga class together. Do anything athletic that involves someone else, some encouragement, some sharing and some laughing.
  • Visit or call an elderly relative or a family member who’ll be glad to see you!
  • Spend an hour giving random but sincere compliments to strangers. Tell the waitress you like her earings, or the supermarket boy that you’re grateful for the skilful way he packs your bag so your bread doesn’t get squashed. Smile. Leave a kind and supportive message on a pillow, tucked into a pocket, or posted on a blog.
  • Volunteer, and care for others in some way. Humans love to give, and to help, and to be united in the energy of that caring.
  • Plan a party or a special event to bring together people that you love, even if that event doesn’t take happen straight away.
  • Join a retreat, workshop or holiday tour and meet new friends.  Be open to connecting with others.

Journalling:

Meet your heart on the page. Take a minute or two to calm yourself, by closing your eyes and breathing deeply. Focus on your heart, and build that energy within you.  Visualise the colour green.  (If you wish, work with the energy of the meditation below before you begin!)  When you are ready start writing, starting with the words, “The thing my wise heart really needs my conscious mind to know is…”

Meditation:

This six minute meditation will help you tap into your heart’s own intuition and wise guidance, opening you up to deeper and deeper levels of spiritual connection.

A Joyful Heart is Magnetic to Love

“Worry never robs tomorrow of its sorrow, it only saps today of its joy.”

There is nothing as radiant and attractive as a joyful heart. Joy is heart centred, and is the spiritual expression of happiness. It is centred in deep gratitude and awareness, even though it can be generated by the most simple of things.  It is all about smiling from the inside, breaking open with infectious enthusiasm and zest for life, love and gratitude and rainbow sparks shooting from your eyes, laughter and kindness and feeling abundant and benevolent towards the world…

Activity:

This is a gorgeous activity, and one of my favourites.  I call it “Bliss Bombing”.  Take yourself to a public place, like a mall, coffee shop, or a bench in a park near where people are walking by.  Sit somewhere unobtrusive.  When someone walks past, shoot a radiant shower of sparks from your heart to theirs and silently bless them with love.  You can even send joy and love from your heart to trees, animals, plants, bus-loads of commuters and overhead planes.  You might  want to say to yourself, “I bless you with love.  Know joy today.”  If anyone catches your eye, just smile.

Feel your open heart begin to tingle with energy and joy.  In that place of energetic connection look around you at the world and you will see that it IS brighter and more beautiful.  YOU contributed to that shift. It’s okay to let your face crack open from smiling!  Expect an outpouring of feel-good emotion. ♥

Journalling:

Embark on a rampage of appreciation.  Take yourself somewhere that pleases you: propped in bed on comfy pillows, a local coffee house with a hot beverage at your elbow, a park, an art gallery – anywhere that soothes and feeds your soul.  Take a moment and breathe in that comfort, and allow yourself to feel connected to your heart. Feel grateful for each breath, for where you are right now, for the time of day, and the weather, for the goings-on around you. Let the worries of the day fade away.  Say to yourself, “I choose to recommit to myself.  I choose to see the joy in life.”

In this place of connection open your journal and begin with the words, “I am aware of small miracles and wonders around me everywhere.  In fact right now there is…  “

Meditation:

Sit quietly and close your eyes.  Feel your heart beating.  Feel the blood whizzing around your body in your veins.  Feel your breathe coming into your lungs, and out again.  Notice how this is automatic.  Your body is healing and breathing, heart pumping, ears listening, skin feeling, mind noticing.  You are a living breathing miracle.  Feel how amazing you are.   Let gratitude, wonder and peace flood your heart.
