The Power of Mentors – Your Path To Success

Mentorship is simply learning from the mistakes and mastery of a successful person in his/her field. – Bernard Kelvin Clive

We all learn by modelling ourselves on others.  As babies we mimic our parents, copying everything they do until we learn to do those things for ourselves; facial expressions, gestures, words, movements…  The fastest way to have success in anything is always to find someone who is already doing that thing, and then copy what they do, or even better – engage with them and have them show you, or help you.

A mentor is someone who has walked the path before you, learned from their mistakes and become successful in their field. What makes them valuable to you is that THEY know how to do what you want to do because they’ve done it already. I have found business mentors, writing mentors (Hi, Doctor Kim!), money mentors and organic farming mentors to name a few. Sometimes my relationship with these people has been a tangible thing, and sometimes I’ve just watched what they’ve done or read their book – and copied what they did to become successful in their field.

I also work as a spiritual mentor with people who want to develop their metaphysical and psychic abilities. That’s a road I know very well.

It’s never too late to change or improve ourselves.  Today we’re going to use journalling to help us identify who we want to be, and who can help us achieve those dreams. Why not make yourself a nice cup of tea, or take yourself out to a coffee shop. With a beverage at your elbow, and a notebook and pen in hand, work through the following activity. You might surprise yourself at what you discover.

Journal Exercise:

Start by writing this passage at the top of your page.

Dear Universe,

I trust that there is a Universal Wisdom which recognises my gifts and talents, that understands what outcomes and adventures are best for my Highest good, and that matches me to mentors best suited to helping me achieve my dreams.

I trust that there is someone out there who knows exactly what I need to do next.

I am ready to embrace the possibility of a better life for myself. I am ready to move from struggle into flow.  I am ready to embrace abundance, in all its forms. I want you to know that I’m ready for whatever wonderful experiences and opportunities you send my way. I am ready to embrace change, and I am ready to embrace success. Thank you for the mentors I now attract into my life.

Now think of an area in your life where you would like to have success.  Don’t judge what comes next, and don’t over-think it.  Just trust that what you write will begin to create a greater sense of personal and spiritual awareness in your life.

Create a list of people who are leaders in this field, and that you can look up to. (if you don’t know who they are, then do a little research!)

Choose one of the people on your list and spend some time writing about WHY you admire this person, and what they do or have done that you would like to have more of in your own life.  Really allow yourself to explore this in detail, making the emotions you feel as you write this strong and real.

When you have finished, write about how you want YOUR life to look as you walk this same path.  Write down the outcomes you want for yourself, and how this will positively change your future, and the world around you.

Do this over a couple of days, using different mentors from your list each day. Trust that as you build this connection through writing, the perfect teachers, courses, resources, mentors and support will begin to show up in your life.

NB: If you feel that you are walking a path of spiritual awakening right now, and you’d like to explore that further, I suggest you do this exercise while holding one of the following crystals:

  • Clear Quartz – for connecting with Guides and Higher Wisdom
  • Fluorite – for understanding your creative path, and for clear guidance with writing
  • Sodalite – for answers about relationships and knowing your own truth
  • Amethyst – for connecting into your spiritual gifts
  • Rhyolite – for channelled wisdoms – showing you that inner truth you find difficult to access on your own

One more thing…

You know more than you think you do.  How can you mentor others? Where can you reach out to people to share what you know, so that others can learn from YOUR experiences and mistakes?

Learning is love – so let’s spread the love around.  Helping others achieve their dreams always moves us closer to our own. ♥

This is How The Universe Works…

“There are no ordinary moments. There is always something going on.” ~  Peaceful Warrior

“Everything around us is made up of energy. To attract positive things in your life, start by giving off positive energy.” ~ Celestine Chua

A few days ago, as I sat at my desk early, early, early in the morning, looking at my brilliant new idea I want to launch, looking at all of my hopes and dreams for this and next year, looking at the mountain of work I have between now and Christmas, I felt, for a moment, exhausted. And a little uncertain.

I’d felt so guided to move in this direction. The work had flowed so smoothly. I was on fire in a way I haven’t been on fire for years. And yet…

And yet in the midst of all of this I’d ended up in hospital and then on bed rest – right when I was meant to be getting my magical new idea finished.

I’d nursed my friend in her dying weeks, and willingly put all work aside to do that.

My glorious projects, already on tight time lines, now seemed more than a little crazy.

So here I was, early in the morning, looking at my endless to-do list, still having occasional little heart pains, wondering if maybe this time, I’d been misguided.

I asked Rollo, one of my Guides, whether I was on the right path. I had a need for some kind of validation or direction. I would have been really grateful if he’d just said yes or no. Followed by telling me what to do.

Instead he said this. “You’ll get your answers today. In the same way you help others, others will help you. Trust the Universe.” (He’s big on this Trust the Universe stuff!)

i-am-open-to-the-guidance-of-synchronicity-and-do-not-let-expectations-hinder-my-path

So, I trusted. With a little flame of excitement in my belly, Ben and I took off to our favourite city cafe to have some breakfast. With Harry the Cafe Dog, of course.

I hadn’t been sitting at our regular table on the sidewalk very long, when a smiling gentleman at the table behind me said, “Excuse me, but are you spiritual?”

I smiled too. It was a strange thing to say, but I knew exactly what he meant. I hadn’t seen this man before, but he seemed like a local. We ended up having a lovely discussion while Ben was inside ordering our coffees. After which the conversation continued in sociable dribs and drabs.

After breakfast, while I was waiting for Ben to buy a box of chocolates for a neighbour, the smiling gentleman passed me a box of oracle cards.

“Go on,” he said. ” Have a look. They’re new. I think you’ll like them.”

‘Really?’ I was thinking, but also ‘how cool! This is the sort of stuff I’m always doing for other people…’

So, I took the cards from their box, (Colette Baron-Reid’s Wisdom of the Oracle) shuffled and gave myself a three card reading about my year ahead and these crazy projects, being completely open to whatever the Universe might tell me.

2015-11-10 07.38.35

“Read the messages in the little book,” the smiling man said. “They’re so accurate.”

So I did. Each message built on the one before, and all of the news was good. Believe in myself and my dreams and my community and keep going. This was it. All green lights. I snapped a quick photo with my phone so I would remember the cards and their messages.

I was about to put the cards back, when the man said, “Go on, do one more, one card just to top it off. Just to complete the magic.”

So I did, and got this.

2015-11-10 07.41.54

I read the little book. The message was perfect.

The man and I chatted a bit more, exchanged names and contact details, and then to my surprise the smiling man we now knew as Chris gifted my husband and I two free movie passes.

It was the most magical of mornings. Thank you, Chris!

To top it off, after a busy day of clients, I then needed to go see a friend about my magical idea. I was exhausted, but it was important that I go, so that this idea can be birthed in the world. It’s a timeline thing. A deadline thing. You know how it is. My friend is a graphic designer, and I met her at her home that evening.

I discussing something else my friend gave me a piece of advice that sorted out a problem I’d been struggling with for over a year. Just like that, all the pieces of my puzzle came together. Thanks, Bek!

Rollo was right. I trusted, and my answers came in the coolest and most delightful way possible.

So, how about you? Where do you need a little help or guidance? All you need to do is put it out there, and trust!

~ Miyamoto Musashi

Sometimes things don’t go to plan.

We’ve had a lot of rain here at the farm. Lots actually. Think floods.

Last Saturday, after having been flooded in overnight, the causeway dropped and Ben decided we’d make a run for it and head to the city for a few days. I didn’t want to go. I have a workshop coming up. And other deadlines to meet. I had so much work to do, and sitting at home in the rain working on my computer in front of the fire sounded like bliss to me. Also, to be completely honest, I felt like crap. Spending a few days in my pyjamas, holed up while it bucketed down outside, sounded fine by me.

rain

There was only one problem. Stupid amounts of rain were predicted and I was worried about running out of Lyme drugs, and accessing a post office to send off my memoir to a competition that was about to close.

We needed to make a decision.

So we hastily threw a few things in bags and jumped in the car with the dogs in tow. A couple of hours later there was more heavy rain, the causeway came back up, but we were now safely on the other side. Our plan was to fill my prescriptions, finish my memoir changes and get them in the post, and come back late Sunday or early Monday morning.

In Brisbane my computer died an hour after I plugged it in. You know, the horrible blue screen of death? That one.

windows-blue-screen-of-death-pfn_list_corrupt

Meanwhile the rain kept coming down.

I couldn’t make the computer behave!

Suddenly our quick trip looked like needing an extension.

As a result this week has not turned out to look anything like I had planned.

But…

On Sunday when I realised that I would need to buy a new computer, the one I wanted was on special – for that day only. (Which also once again validates my personal mantra Everything I want is always on special! Read more about helpful affirmations here: My Embarrassing Affirmation Confession)

Our good friend Tony, who also happens to be a computer wizard, suddenly had a work cancellation which meant he could perform CPR on my old laptop and breathe life into my new one. A process I thought should take an hour or two, but which actually took days. Who knew these things could be so complicated?

While I was in that Universe-imposed twilight zone of no emails, blogs, twitter, skype, facebook or any other form of digital communication I was able to re-read and re-edit my memoir the old-fashioned way, with pencil and paper. I finished my draft, made the changes on a borrowed computer, printed it off and sent it on its way. I’m sure I did a much better job of it with so few distractions.

What to do after that? Computer still not working, and new Lyme drugs making me feel less than one hundred percent. I napped my way through most of the next few days.

Result?

My memoir is done, I am well rested and feeling sooooo much better, and my new computer, finally, is ready for business.

Of course, the farm is still flooded in. We might get home tomorrow. Or we might not. Helpful neighbours phone us a few times a day with weather updates. No point going home if we get all the way there only to find that we can’t get over the flooded creek that leads to our front door. We’ve had almost a year’s worth of rain in the past few days, and it’s still raining! We’re safe here in the city, our cows are safe back at the farm, and there’s nothing else to be done.

I’m okay with whatever happens. This week has worked out just fine, with no help from me.

Life’s like that, isn’t it? You can plan all you want, but often the Universe has a way of making your plans ridiculously irrelevant and replacing them with something far more magical and synchronous.

Are you holding on too tight right now? Maybe it’s time to let the Universe have a little elbow room.

Much love to you, Nicole xx

Storms and Black Cockatoos

2013-01-29 08.14.26

“Nothing ever goes to plan, Nicole. You should know that by now!” Ben Phillips (husband)

It’s a gorgeous sunny morning here at the farm, but oh, what a storm we had last night. Thunder, lightning, hail, ferocious winds and then we lost power, right at sunset. So my day of enforced rest rolled on into the night.

Today there are trees down everywhere, and among other things our modem and telecommunications are fried, and will be days in the fixing.

Hello, Universe, I hear you! Me, resting? Well, obviously.

But the black cockatoos sang me to sleep and woke me up again as the sun was just peeking her head over the green hills behind us. What vivid and magical dreams I had!

I promise to share them with you soon. 🙂

There’s nothing else for it. We’re heading to the beach for a swim and then some breakfast while we wait for power to be restored. Just as soon as we have cleared enough fallen trees to get to the road…

Strengthening Intuition Week 1 – Tools for Intuitive Connection

Image from thepsychedelicshack.com

“It’s important to remember that we all have magic inside us.” ~ J K Rowling
~ J. K. Rowling

Welcome to Week One of the Strengthening Intuition Program!

Please immediately purchase or find the following things:

  • a deck of tarot cards
  • a big crystal ball
  • various small crystals of your choice
  • a unicorn horn
  • a cape made of black velvet
  • a book of spells
  • an owl, versed in Wizardry and all things Hogwarts
  • a selection of candles

Just kidding. (And my apologies if you are now disappointed.  Even I feel a little disappointed about the lack of owls… )

That’s better!  A particularly wise and spooky-looking owl.  Image from googleimages.com

Over the next eight weeks all we are going to work with is what we were born with – our own inner guidance system!

So, what are the real tools of Intuitive Connection?  For the Beginner I would suggest:

  • Awareness
  • Sensitivity
  • An open mind
  • The capacity to think, feel and reflect
  • Breathing, relaxing and observing

You were born with a capacity to sense and gather information beyond what your five senses can glean.  You were born to be able to tune in to energy fields around people and places. You were born with with the ability to listen to your heart’s wisdom, and your soul’s, as well as to the thoughts and musings of your conscious mind.

Yes, we can use divination tools, crystals, cards and so on, but then we’re relying on things outside ourselves. It’s always best to start with the basics, don’t you think?

Activity:

This week, we are going to focus on paying attention.  Mostly, we live in our heads.  Our thoughts are a constant chatter that distracts us from hearing the deeper wisdom within us. I want you to move past that sort of chatter this week.

Image from planetoutreach-asd.blogspot.com

Think of it as like diving into a lake. Our thoughts are the surface – in constant motion, and affected by wind and tide and whatever passes across the top of the water.  But when we go below the surface, things become quiet and calm.  It’s a whole other world.

This week your role is to be an Aware Observer. I highly recommend carrying a small notebook or journal to record your insights and observations.  Be open to any messages, insights, ideas or hunches you have.

  1. Pay attention to what your body is telling you.  Notice when it tenses up or when it relaxes.  Even pay attention to the feedback it gives you about diet, sleep and exercise.
  2. Notice your emotional state in various situations. Don’t judge it – explore it!  Ask yourself what’s going on, and then let ideas and answers just float into your conscious awareness.
  3. Pay attention to your choice of words, your body language and your physical and emotional energy levels. What sparks this? Why? What’s going on?  Keep asking questions, and once again just be open to whatever comes into your awareness.
  4. And finally, don’t edit yourself.  Let the ideas, feelings and emotions flow and don’t censor or try to control what comes up.  Your only job is to be an observer.  The more you are able to sit as an aware observer in your own life, the more your natural intuitive energies will be strengthened.

A Final Note:

No owls in this video, but it’s still really cool… These starlings fly in incredible formations, all without a single crash or mishap.  What guides them? Intuition.

It’s a force available to us all.

Just for a moment, imagine that you could move through life like that; with such freedom, trust and connection.

The Power of Mentors

“The greatest good you can do for another is not just to share your riches but to reveal to him his own.”
 – Benjamin Disraeli

We all learn by modelling ourselves on others.  As babies we mimic our parents, copying everything they do until we learn to do those things for ourselves; facial expressions, gestures, words, movements…  The fastest way to have success in anything is always to find someone who is already doing that thing, and then copy what they do, or even better – engage with them and have them show you, or help you.

Writing Ourselves into Awareness

“Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.”
― C.G. Jung

Sometimes we get so confused.  We run this way and that way – searching for the thing, the answer, the lover, the teacher…

We forget to trust ourselves.  We forget to ask ourselves. We are so busy running and searching that we don’t stand still long enough to catch our breath and look inside.

Today, we are going to take that time. We are going to gift ourselves twenty minutes of  self-exploration, in the form of journalling. If possible, take a ten minute walk before you begin. (If you are unwell, or unable to go outside, take ten minutes and watch the video at the bottom of this page. It will help put you in that same energetic space of relaxation and connection.)

Then make yourself a nice cup of tea, or take yourself out to a coffee shop. (Maybe you could walk there!) With a beverage at your elbow, and a notebook and pen in hand, work through the following activity. You might surprise yourself at what you discover.

Journal Exercise:

Start by writing this passage at the top of your page.

Dear Universe,

I trust that there is a part of me that already knows what I want most in this lifetime. I also trust that there is a Universal Wisdom that recognises my gifts and talents, and that understands what outcomes and adventures are best for my Highest good.

I am ready to embrace the possibility of a better life for myself.  I am ready to move from struggle into flow.  I am ready to embrace abundance, in all its forms. I want you to know that I’m ready for whatever wonderful experiences and opportunities you send my way. I am ready for my Soul to show me my heart’s true desire…

Now choose any of the following journal starters, and use it to begin writing.  Don’t judge what comes next, and don’t over-think it.  Just trust that what you write will begin to create a greater sense of personal and spiritual awareness in your life.

NB: If you feel that you are walking a path of spiritual awakening right now, and you’d like to explore that further, I suggest you do this exercise while holding one of the following crystals:

  • Sodalite – for answers about relationships and knowing your own truth
  • Amethyst – for connecting into your spiritual gifts
  • Rhyolite – for channelled wisdoms – showing you that inner truth you find difficult to access on your own

  • When I am relaxed, and feeling good about life, it becomes clear to me that the most meaningful direction for me right now is
  • If I was to remove myself from the things that cause anxiety in my life, and then sit quietly and listen to my body, I’d become aware that
  • I take a few calming breaths and close my eyes. Then I sit in the silent presence of my wise inner being. When I open my eyes again I understand that
  • If I could do anything, go anywhere, be anyone, then my heart is leading me to
  • When I am calm, and I take time to reconnect, I feel that
  • If my wise self could tell my weary and confused brain one thing, it would be this:
  • If God, my Angels or my Guides had a message for me, and I could finally hear it, it would be
The path to Awareness requires that we make the time to know ourselves.  And journalling creates a sacred space where we can do that, opening the way for a meaningful dialogue with our inner being. These questions can be used once, or you can return to them again and again to discover more about yourself.
Bless ♥ xx

Patience and Right Timing

The two most powerful warriors are patience and time.

~ Leo Nikolaevich Tolstoy

If you read yesterday’s post, you’ll know that I am a big fan of trusting in two things: Universal Wisdom and Right Timing.

You might wonder what that has to do with patience? Everything, my friends, everything!

Why? Well, when we are asking for a sign, when we’re newly on our path, when we’re in the early stages of love, a new diet, a fledgling business or a fresh story idea we are usually good with waiting, and things unfolding in a gradual or haphazard manner. We most often have a sense of support too, and that loved-up and cosy feeling of being listened to by the Universe, God, our Guides, Angels or whomever else we feel is out there for us.

But what happens when the newness wears off?

This is usually where we start to falter.

When things are new, or the search hasn’t even really begun yet, we run on excitement, hope, anticipation and adrenalin.

But when we are well into things, or what we want hasn’t shown up yet, or we’re staring up at the bigness of the project we have just undertaken, we can wonder if we are EVER going to achieve the thing we desire. We become impatient.

Doubt creeps in. Fear too. And once you’ve cracked the door open to doubt and fear, all those lousy opportunistic emotions and limiting beliefs from our past start tapping us on the shoulder: defeat, failure, not good enough, not smart enough, not pretty enough, not worthy enough, too old, too fat, too late…

All things take time.  And I have seen too many people walk away from the thing that was actually working, just because it wasn’t unfolding within the time-frame they’d set for it.

Oh, we say to ourselves.  Love is NEVER coming.

Oh, this business is NEVER going to make money.

I’ll NEVER get this book published.

Or whatever other sad story you tell yourself…

And so you stop what you’re doing.  You give up.  You go home.

But what makes you so wise that you can suddenly know the workings of the Universe?

What makes you think that you can have a plan better than Divine Timing?

It’s a bit like being three months pregnant and ready to have that baby RIGHT NOW, because the nursery is painted, the freezer is full of casseroles and you have a few weeks leave up your sleeve.  Come on, baby, you think.  I’m ready!  Let’s do it!!! Only problem is, babies take longer to make than three months.

If I have any advice for you, it’s this:

❤ Relax and enjoy the journey! When we are patient, we perfect our craft.  We grow, and learn and develop all manner of new talents and insights. We gain mastery. It’s never just about the destination – and it’s always about the becoming…

❤ Trust that Universal Wisdom has a much better plan than anything you could come up with on your own, and all you need to do is keep putting one foot in front of the other, living with an open heart and an open mind.

❤ Know that things have a wonderful way of working out with Right Timing. And that timing is usually not YOUR timing.  If it hasn’t shown up yet, if it’s taking too long, there’s a reason for that. You just can’t see that from where you’re standing, and you might be closer than you think.

You ARE supported and well-loved, and there IS a magic and a wisdom to the way things unfold for us.

Your job is to be happy, to follow your heart, to live with gratitude and compassion and to be open to opportunities and miracles. You’re not in this alone, so stop acting like it and start trusting! ❤

I’ve recorded a simple Guided Meditation to help you relax into the energy of patience and trust.  All you need to do is click on the link below, and then close your eyes and listen…

Nicole Cody’s Guided Meditation for Patience and Divine Timing

You are a well-loved child of the Universe. You are supported and connected to source energy.  All is well.

The Woman I Turned Away…

Evil Woman by SalaBoli: flickriver.com

When I do psychic readings for people, I have a few procedures that I follow to ready myself for our session.  Firstly I close my eyes, centre myself and offer up a prayer for the Highest Good, and then I allow myself to move into a channelling space.  When I am firmly anchored in this energy I open my eyes and connect into the ‘seeker’ – the person I am going to read for.

If I am doing a reading by distance (ie by skype, phone or from a photograph) I do this energetically.  But if the person is sitting right in front of me I like to hold their hands to make that connection.

Image from mywedding.com

Once again I close my eyes, and then I psychically ask permission to work with that person.  When permission is obtained I open myself to any first impressions, and then I open my eyes and begin the session.

In the thousands of people that I have worked with I have only been refused twice.

The first time, I got a clear ‘no’.  I was surprised, as that had never happened before.  And the explanation? It was not ‘Right Timing’.  I apologised, and ended the session.  A few months later the person came back and the session proceeded beautifully – at a time that was perfect, given the sudden changes in that person’s life.

That taught me something valuable – the need to always honour Universal Wisdom.

But it certainly didn’t prepare me for the second person I turned away.

I awoke agitated on that day, with an annoying headache that wouldn’t budge.  Before I’d even begun work my last two appointments rang to reschedule – something that rarely happens.  Trusting in Right Timing, I got ready for my only other appointment that day.  As the time grew closer I felt more and more ill, and my head throbbed as if it might explode.  I wondered if I was getting a migraine, although I’d never had one before.

Finally my appointment showed up, ten minutes late.  I ushered her in, sat her down and began.

My own connection took much longer than normal.  I sat patiently, and when I was finally ready it felt as if I had been surrounded by a heavenly host of Angels, an energy I don’t usually work with.  I felt very safe, very calm and very loved.

Image from poemsbycc.com

And then I took hold of this woman’s hands.

Whoosh.  It was as if I had been sucked over the edge of a deep abyss.  There was nothing. Nothing but darkness.  But the darkness wasn’t empty.  And it certainly wasn’t friendly.

My eyes snapped open in shock, and I saw her watching me.

“Sorry,” I apologised.  Then shutting my eyes, I tried again.

All I felt was fear – my fear – and a deep sense of unrest.  No matter how I tried, I just couldn’t connect. It was as if she was behind a wall I couldn’t penetrate.

I let go of her hands and opened my eyes.  “I’m sorry,” I said to her.  “I’m feeling unwell.  I just can’t work with you today.”  My skin was goosebumped, and I sensed shadow all around us.  All I wanted to do was get her out of my home as quickly as I could.

Image from miserablesongs.blogspot.com

When she was gone I cleansed my house, did a healing meditation, and put myself to bed, completely drained.  It took two days to come back to a place of feeling my normal, optimistic self.

That session really disturbed me, but I was never able to access any more information, and eventually I put it behind me. Two years later an older man turned up for a session with me.  He came through my door very unwell and weak, with a great weight of sadness.  My first instinct was to greet him with a hug.

My connection with him was easy and strong.  And very disturbing.  As I held his hands a bitter taste flooded my mouth and I felt my own body weaken.  My heart rhythm went wonky, and my vision blurred.  A shocking awareness came to me.  I dropped his hands and asked, “How are you feeling?”

He batted away a tear. “I don’t know what’s wrong with me.  I’m so tired all the time, and I just can’t seem to come right. I feel like I’m dying.” He took my hand in his.  “I’ve got cancer,  haven’t I?  You can tell me.  I just need to know what’s wrong.”

“No,” I blurted.  “It’s not cancer.  You’re being poisoned. And you’re in grave danger.” The information poured out of me.  His wife.  His wife was poisoning him.  And she had done this before, to previous husbands.

“Her first three husbands did all die,” he said to me, almost unbelieving. “But she loves me. She’s stood by me even when my own family turned against us. She’s been caring for me ever since I got sick.”  He pulled a photo from his wallet and placed it on the table between us.

It was the woman I had turned away.

Manifesting Your Best Self – A Journal Adventure

Image from journeysforthesoul.ca

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. – Marianne Williamson

If thoughts, words and intent are the building blocks from which reality is shaped, can there be any better manifestation adventure for you than to create your best self?

Why settle for boring, or mediocre? Why limit yourself? Why be unhappy, toiling away in drudgery while your dreams sit in a box on a dusty shelf? This life is no dress rehearsal – there is no second chance to get this right. Commit today to making your life the best that it can be.

Journal Activity:

Begin by writing the following passage into your own journal.

Pour your heart into it. Let the Universe hear your plea, and feel your desire. Decorate your words, use coloured inks or stickers to help convey the dreams and emotions within you.

Then choose one or more of the journal starters below and begin writing. You can use the same journal starter more than once if it really resonates for you.

Dear Universe,

Even before I was born I was excited about this life.  I was so busy choosing my talents and gifts, packing my bags, getting ready for the adventure. I couldn’t wait to get here! Everything began to line up for me, and suddenly, here I was, in this body, ready to begin…

There is so much I want to do with my life, I have so much to share, and I can feel that energy building up inside me again.  I can feel things lining up to support me in living my best life, and sharing my gifts with the world.

I’m a little nervous, and a little scared, and what I need now more than anything is some help to shine. But I know your job is to help, and my job is to accept that help, so we’re going to get along just fine. I’m ready – let’s do it!!!

Choose from any of these journal starters and begin manifesting your new life:

  • If I could have any wish right now it would be
  • The three things that would make the biggest difference in my life are
  • What would be most helpful to me is
  • The thing that excites me most about the future is
  • If I wasn’t so scared of failure I would truly embrace
  • If I had time, money and freedom, I would
  • The things that make me special are
  • The things I would most love to share with the world are
  • The legacy I’d like to leave behind is
  • The one thing I would change about myself is
  • The one thing in me that I’d like to polish and polish until it shines brightly is
  • If it were possible I would
  • I know it sounds outrageous but
  • The seven things I would like to see more of in my life are
  • If I could win any prize right now it would be
  • My ideal life would look like this –
  • My ideal body, style and habitat are
  • My version of a deluxe life is
  • The most magical thing I could draw to me right now is
  • The thing that is beginning to change my life is
  • It won’t be long until
  • I wasn’t ready before, but now I find I’m eager to

Soundtrack to My Life:

Music has the power to transform our emotions, and when we transform our emotions we transform our lives. This week you’re going to make a mixtape. If you’ve never made one, there’s a very simple how-to guide here on this video – they intend the playlist for someone else, but the special person who will be the recipient of this great music you’re choosing is YOU:

Choose songs that mean something to you, that evoke a mood, that stir emotions within you and make you feel positive, excited, inspired and uplifted. Listen to your mixtape often! The more you feel inspired and uplifted, the more you will begin to grow, evolve, become.  We need your unique gifts, talents and perspective in our world. Your heart always knows what it wants, and if you listen, it will always guide you well.

Shine! Be your best self – there is no-one better qualified.

Now make a wish – and know that the Universe will do its part to make it come true…

Much love to you ♥ xx
